Angels in Islam (9) do they Sleep?

The Angels are created from light.

Does the light sleep?

The Angels never ever sleep.

Do the Angels rest? They never ever rest; they work all the time.

[In the Bible, Jehovah, the Lord God rested in the 7th day of creation]

How come that the some creatures never ever rest and the Almighty Creator rests?

Well, then what the Angels do all the time?

The verse 21:20 says:

They glorify Allah night and day

They pray to Him at night and during the day; (they flag not)

They glorify His praises night and day, they never slacken.

They persist in their worship night and day, obeying Allah to the utmost

Thus, the verse paints a picture of creatures glorifying Allah and extolling His praises at all times.

However, the question is: do they get bored?

They do not get bored of worshipping Allah and of acknowledging His Lordship all the time.

They glorify Allah all the time, and they do not falter.

For Angels, glorifying Allah comes to them as naturally as breathing comes to us; it is something which we can never be distracted from.

————————————

The verse 21:20 in four different translations

QARIB:

They (the Angels) never fail to exalt him either at night or in the day.

SHAKIR:

They (the Angels) glorify (him) by night and day; they are never languid

PICKTHAL:

They (the Angels) glorify (him) night and day; they flag not.

YUSUFALI:

They (the Angels) celebrate his praises night and day, nor do they ever flag or intermit.

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (9) who fortify who?

The Bible declares that an Angel came from Heaven unto the Lord Jesus to strengthen Him and to make him strong!

In the Quran, the Angels are Allah’s creatures.  They are obedient creatures and are worshiping Allah all the time; they cannot do anything unless they have the permission of Allah.

—————————————

The verse Luke 22:43 declares that an Angel came from Heaven unto the Lord Jesus to strengthen Him, to Help Him or to make him strong!

It is well known that an Angel is but a creature.

Would a creature strengthen or help his Creator or make his God strong!

According to the 21st Century King James Version, the verse Luke 22:43 says:

“And there appeared an angel unto Him from Heaven, strengthening Him”.

In addition, 29 other Bible’s versions say:

“And there appeared an angel unto Him from Heaven, strengthening Him or giving him strength or gave him strength or strengthened him”. (With little differences between them)

However, five Bible’s versions say that the Angel which appeared from heaven:

1) Came to help him (in Contemporary English Version and Easy-to-Read Version)

2) Helped to make him strong (in Worldwide English, New Testament)

3) Strengthening Him in spirit (in Amplified Bible)

4) Comforted him (in Wycliffe Bible)

Nevertheless, two versions (Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition and Knox Bible) add new words that are not found in 35 Bible’s versions; they say: “And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed the longer”.

To my surprise, ‘Luke 22:43’ is not found for the version: Revised Standard Version which says in the Footnotes: [Other ancient authorities add verses 43: “And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him”]

Does this mean that the entire verse ‘Luke 22:43’ is forged?

Apart from the study of 38 versions of the Bible and how they add and remove words that are not the Word of God, let us discuss how could an Angel gave God strength or strengthened him?

Who strengthen who? Who fortify who? Who support who? Who help who?

God is the Supreme Creator and all of His Angels are but creatures; how come that one of these creatures strengthens, fortifies supports or helps His Almighty Supreme Creator?

———————————–

In the Quran, the Angels are creatures belonged to Allah. They worship and glorify Allah all the time, by day and night; they are never languid.

N.B. the Angels do not eat, drink, marry, rest, sleep etc. they are not like us.

Also, the Angels cannot do anything on His own authority; it is required to have the permission of Allah for every act. The Angels do not disobey Allah in what he commands them, and they do what they are commanded to do.

The following verses of the Quran (according to Shakir translation) may give you some fruitful facts about the Angels

The verses 21:19-20:

19) And whoever is in the heavens and the earth is His; and those who are with him are not proud to worship Him (Allah), nor do they grow weary

20) They glorify (Him) by night and day; they are never languid

The verse 97:4

The angels and Gabriel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair,

The verse 66:6

…., they do not disobey Allah in what he commands them, and do as they are commanded
