Allah asks you (20) have you any knowledge that God is satisfied with…?

If Allah had willed, He could have guided all of you to His religion, but He is testing you

Allah’ Chastisement will never be withdrawn from guilty folk in the next life

Allah is the Lord of all-embracing mercy towards the pious and sinner alike

—————————————————

In verse 39:9, Allah is asking mankind this question:

Have you any clarification regarding what you ascribed unto Him as partners, and what you describe as unlawful; Have you any knowledge, that God is satisfied with this, such that you can adduce for us?

You follow only supposition, you do but guess; you just lie.

In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.

It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them.

Allah’ questions are many. In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.

In verse 6:147-149, Allah asks mankind this question:

Have you any clarification regarding what you ascribed unto Him as partners, and what you describe as unlawful; Have you any knowledge, that God is satisfied with this, such that you can adduce for us?,

You follow only supposition, you do but guess; you just lie.

Verses 6:147-149 give the question of this article and talk about it

The meanings of the verses 6:147-149

Verse 6:147 says:

So if they deny you, with regard to what you have brought,

If they give the lie to you O Muhammad regarding the prohibitions that Allah described to you,

Say: Your Lord is a Lord of all-embracing mercy towards the pious and sinner alike, in that He defers torment to the next life,

And His wrath, His torment will never be withdrawn from guilty folk, the idolaters.

And His might, His chastisement, when it comes, will never be driven back from the sinning folk’.

Verse 6:148 says:

The idolaters will say, ‘Had Allah willed, we had not ascribed unto Him partners; we would not have been idolaters, neither had our fathers nor had we forbidden aught of crops and cattle, but this has been commanded and forbidden for us.

In other words, our idolatry and our forbidding [of things] are by His will, and so He must be satisfied with it.

God, exalted be He, says: So, in the same way that they are liars, those who were before them gave the lie, to their prophets, until they tasted Our might, Our chastisement.

Say O Muhammad: Have you any clarification regarding what you describe as unlawful; Have you any knowledge, that God is satisfied with this, such that you can adduce for us?, that is, you have no such knowledge.

You follow only supposition, in this matter, merely guessing’, telling lies therein

Lo! You follow naught but an opinion, your prohibition of crops and cattle is nothing but surmise. (Lo! You do but guess) you just lie.

Verse 6:149 says:

Say to them, O Muhammad, if you do not have any definitive argument for your claim, then For Allah’s is the final, the conclusive and the perfect argument, the most firm argument.  Had He willed He could indeed have guided all of you to His religion

Verses 6:147-149 in different translations:

QARIB:

147) If they belie you, say: ‘your Lord is the owner of all encompassing mercy, but his might cannot be withheld from the nation, the evildoers. ‘

148) The idolaters will say: ‘had Allah willed, neither we nor our fathers would have associated (idols), nor would we have forbidden anything. as such, those who have gone before them belied until they tasted our might. Say: ‘have you any knowledge you can bring forth to us? You follow nothing but guessing and you are only speakers of conjecture. ‘

149) Say: ‘Allah alone has the conclusive proof. had he willed, he would have guided you all. ‘

SHAKIR:

147) But if they give you the lie, then say: your lord is the lord of all-encompassing mercy; and his punishment cannot be averted from the guilty people

148) Those who are polytheists will say: if Allah had pleased we would not have associated (aught with him) nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden (to ourselves) anything; even so did those before them reject until they tasted our punishment. Say: have you any knowledge with you so you should bring it forth to us? You only follow a conjecture and you only tell lies

149) Say: then Allah’s is the conclusive argument; so if he please, he would certainly guide you all

PICKTHAL:

147) So if they give the lie to thee (Muhammad), say: your lord is a lord of all-embracing mercy, and his wrath will never be withdrawn from guilty folk.

148) They who are idolaters will say: had Allah willed, we had not ascribed (unto him) partners neither had our fathers, nor had we forbidden aught. thus did those who were before them give the lie (to Allah’s messengers) till they tasted of the fear of us. Say: have ye any knowledge that ye can adduce for us? Lo! Ye follow naught but an opinion, lo! Ye do but guess.

149) Say – for Allah’s is the final argument – had he willed he could indeed have guided all of you.

YUSUFALI:

147) If they accuse thee of falsehood, say: “your lord is full of mercy all-embracing; but from people in guilt never will his wrath be turned back.

148) Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: “if Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos.” so did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of our wrath. Say: “have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie.”

149) Say: “with Allah is the argument that reaches home: if it had been his will, he could indeed have guided you all.”

This is Allah (8) Allah has prescribed for Himself Mercy

Allah will gather you together on the Day of Judgment

Allah will requite you for your deeds

———————————-

Many people do not know Allah.  This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

In verse 6:12 of the Noble Quran, Allah told His Prophet Muhammad to ask the people:

“Unto whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth of created beings?

If they do not know, tell them Unto Allah!

Allah has prescribed for Himself mercy, and

He will surely gather all of you together on the Day of Resurrection of which there is no doubt, in order to requite and revenge you for your faith and deeds.

If your faith and deeds are good, then you will dwell in Paradise.

If your faith and deeds are bad, then you will dwell in the Hell.

It is fair enough.

However, Allah has Ordained the supreme Mercy on Himself.

His Mercy is unlimited.

Verse 6:12 in different English translations:

QARIB:

Say: ‘to whom belongs that which is in the heavens and the earth? ‘Say: ‘to Allah. he has written for himself mercy, and will gather you on the day of resurrection in which there is no doubt. those who have lost their souls, they do not believe. ‘

SHAKIR:

Say: to whom belongs what is in the heavens and the earth? Say: to Allah; he has ordained mercy on himself; most certainly he will gather you on the resurrection day– there is no doubt about it. (as for) those who have lost their souls, they will not believe

PICKTHAL:

Say: unto whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth? say: unto Allah. he hath prescribed for himself mercy, that he may bring you all together to the day of resurrection whereof there is no doubt. those who ruin their souls will not believe.

YUSUFALI:

Say: “to whom belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth?” say: “to Allah. he hath inscribed for himself (the rule of) mercy. that he will gather you together for the day of judgment, there is no doubt whatever. it is they who have lost their own souls, that will not believe.
