Atheists in Quran (7) their worst trade

What a worst trade! They purchase unbelief at the price of faith. Who are losing in such trade, God or the Atheists?

———————————

The meanings of the verses 3:177-178:

Look at this amazing trade

  • The Atheists purchase unbelief at the price of faith
  • The Atheists are taking unbelief in place of faith
  • The Atheists preferred and recommend unbelief to faith

What an extremely worse trade

Surely, there are losing in such trade

Who are the losing God or the Atheists?

Allah says:

Those who purchase unbelief at the price of faith, they will not hurt Allah at all, with their unbelief, and there awaits them a painful chastisement.

They do not harm Allah by choosing unbelief, but theirs will be a painful doom whose agony will spread to their hearts

If they cause harm, it is only to themselves.

If they persist, they persist only to their own loss. Allah gives them respite despite their indulgence in disbelief

However, The Atheists suppose that extending their terms of life as progeny, wealth and amusements in their life is better for them.

No, Allah grant them indulgence, He give them respite, only that they may increase in sinfulness, through frequent disobedience, and theirs is a humbling chastisement in the Hereafter.

Favor or Revenge?

Allah indulge them in the life of this world and they think that it is an act of favor, not considering that it might be an act of revenge.

Let not their conduct grieve you (O believers); theirs will be a shameful doom.

When the essential forces of the divine preordination emerge to them all of a sudden, they will know that they have lost.

The verses 3:177-178 in different translations:

QARIB:

177-Those who buy disbelief with belief will not harm Allah a thing, for them there is a painful punishment!

178-Do not let those who disbelieve think that what we delay is better for them. Indeed, we delay for them only that they will increase in sin, and for them a humiliating punishment.

SHAKIR:

177-Surely, those who have bought unbelief at the price of faith shall do no harm at all to Allah, and they shall have a painful chastisement

178-And let not those who disbelieve think that our granting them respite is better for their souls; we grant them respite only that they may add to their sins; and they shall have a disgraceful chastisement

PICKTHAL:

177-Those who purchase disbelief at the price of faith harm Allah not at all, but theirs will be a painful doom.

178-And let not those who disbelieve imagine that the rein we give them bodeth good unto their souls. We only give them rein that they may grow in sinfulness. and theirs will be a shameful doom.

YUSUFALI:

177-Those who purchase unbelief at the price of faith,- not the least harm will they do to Allah, but they will have a grievous punishment.

178-Let not the unbelievers think that our respite to them is good for themselves: we grant them respite that they may grow in their iniquity: but they will have a shameful punishment.

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-58) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

In the previous articles (55-58)

Moses said: O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from Allah to you,

Pharaoh said: You are lying!

Moses said: when talking about to Allah it is compulsory to say the truth. Truly I have come to you with a clear signs from Allah.

Pharaoh Said: If you have come with a sign, then produce it.

Then Moses cast down, he flung down his staff and it was an enormous huge snake manifest for all to see,

And he drew forth his hand, he took it out from his bosom (armpit), and it was white, radiant and shining for the beholders.

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s council said: Lo! this is some knowing wizard who is proficient in wizardry. Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer, outstanding in the art of magic. The aim of this man (Moses) is to expel you from your land of Egypt.  This was not true, the aim of Moses was to take the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Then Pharaoh said:

Now what do you advice? What we should do concerning this matter?

They said unto Pharaoh:

We should bring every cunning sorcerer, who is proficient in wizardry to outdo Moses in the art of magic.  And so they summoned many of the knowing wizards.

And the sorcerers who were 70 in number came to Pharaoh, and they said: Surely there will be a great reward for us if we are victors against Moses.

Pharaoh answered: Yes of course you have that, and surely you shall be of those brought near to me in status.

The Egyptian sorcerers threw 70 staffs and 70 ropes, they cast a spell upon the people’s eyes, and overawed them scared them, and produced a mighty spell; they put a spell upon the people’s eyes, misleading them from perceiving the real state of these ropes and staffs, and overawed them, scared them, by making their ropes appear to be slithering snakes, and produced a mighty sorcery.

Allah inspired Moses (saying): Throw your staff!  And he threw it. And lo! it swallowed up their lying show, their staffs and ropes.

The Egyptian sorcerers, as well as Pharaoh and his folk, were defeated.

The Egyptian sorcerers realized that Moses was right and that they were evil doers.

And the Egyptian sorcerers fell down prostrate to Allah; for they realized that what they had witnessed of the staff could not be done through sorcery; they cried and said: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds.

Pharaoh said: are you referring to me?

They said: Allah! The Lord of Moses and Aaron,

Pharaoh get very angry at them.

Pharaoh said:

You believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron before I give you leave, before I command you to do so!

Lo! this is the plot that you have plotted in the city between you and Moses; that you may expel its people from it by means of guile.

Then Pharaoh threatened them and said:

But you shall come to know, what I will do to you!

Pharaoh said:

I shall assuredly have your hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, that is, the right hand and the left foot of every one, then I shall have every one of you crucified. This was the punishment for anyone who does not believe that Pharaoh is the Lord of the Worlds!

Then what?

Our Lord! Make us die as men who have surrendered unto Thee sincerely, following the religion of Moses.

Will you leave Moses and his people to make mischief in the land by changing the religion and worship, and abandon you and the worship of your gods?

It is also said that this means, according to a different reading: and leave worshipping you as a god?

Pharaoh said:

We will slay their sons, their young sons, as we did the first time and spare their grown up women,

We shall slaughter their new-born sons and spare their women, keeping them alive, as we did with them before.  For lo! we are in power over them; we have dominance and supremacy over them, and they did this to them, and so the Children of Israel grieved.

This is Allah (8) Allah has prescribed for Himself Mercy

Allah will gather you together on the Day of Judgment

Allah will requite you for your deeds

———————————-

Many people do not know Allah.  This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

In verse 6:12 of the Noble Quran, Allah told His Prophet Muhammad to ask the people:

“Unto whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth of created beings?

If they do not know, tell them Unto Allah!

Allah has prescribed for Himself mercy, and

He will surely gather all of you together on the Day of Resurrection of which there is no doubt, in order to requite and revenge you for your faith and deeds.

If your faith and deeds are good, then you will dwell in Paradise.

If your faith and deeds are bad, then you will dwell in the Hell.

It is fair enough.

However, Allah has Ordained the supreme Mercy on Himself.

His Mercy is unlimited.

———————————-

Verse 6:12 in different English translations:

QARIB:

Say: ‘to whom belongs that which is in the heavens and the earth? ‘Say: ‘to Allah. he has written for himself mercy, and will gather you on the day of resurrection in which there is no doubt. those who have lost their souls, they do not believe. ‘

SHAKIR:

Say: to whom belongs what is in the heavens and the earth? Say: to Allah; he has ordained mercy on himself; most certainly he will gather you on the resurrection day– there is no doubt about it. (as for) those who have lost their souls, they will not believe

PICKTHAL:

Say: unto whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth? say: unto Allah. he hath prescribed for himself mercy, that he may bring you all together to the day of resurrection whereof there is no doubt. those who ruin their souls will not believe.

YUSUFALI:

Say: “to whom belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth?” say: “to Allah. he hath inscribed for himself (the rule of) mercy. that he will gather you together for the day of judgment, there is no doubt whatever. it is they who have lost their own souls, that will not believe.

This is Allah (2) everything in heavens and earth belong to Allah

——————-

Many people do not know Allah.  This series is an attempt to introduce to help them.

Allah, to who belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants.  And “Woe” is to the disbelievers from a terrible chastisement.  It is said that “Woe” here refers to the hottest, narrowest and deepest valley in Eternal Hell that is waiting for those…

In the Noble Quran, verse 14:2 says that:

Allah, to who belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants. In other words, unto whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth of creation and wondrous things.

(And woe unto the disbelievers from an awful doom, a severe torment)

It is said that “Woe” here refers to the hottest, narrowest and deepest valley in hell. This valley would cry: “O Lord! My heat is intense, my width is very narrow and my depth is so deep, so let me take revenge on those who disobeyed you and make that nothing takes revenge against me”,

And woe to the disbelievers from a terrible chastisement,

Then verse 14:3 describes the disbelievers who deserve this “Woe”

Those who love and prefer the life of the world more than the Hereafter,

Those who love to enjoy living for few more than to enjoy living eternally.

And ban men from the way of Allah,

And prohibit people from Allah’s religion and obedience

And would have the life of this world crooked

Such the disbelievers are far astray from the Truth and guidance;

It is also said that this means: they are in manifest error.

And Woe, the worst place in the Eternal Hell is waiting for them!
