What the British author: S. H. Leeder said about Islam (1)

In his book, the British author: S. H. Leeder said “The relationship between the father and his sons is one of the pleasantest features of Islamic life. “To please your father is to please God, and to displease your father is to displease God,” said the Prophet Mohammed; and the teaching is taken to heart.”

———————————————-

In his book: “Veiled mysteries of Egypt and the religion of Islam (1913)”, the British author: S. H. Leeder said in the introduction of his book: “There has always been a veil of mystery over the religion of I slam, from its very first days.”

What Leeder said about the gentleness and simplicity in Islam?

 “There is a great deal in the religion of Islam which teaches consideration for .others, and leads to gentleness and simplicity of conduct, which, with a remarkable absence of censoriousness, produces what we call gentlemen. And no national decadence, or falling behind in the race for intellectual and material attainment and advantage, has obliterated this.

The men of the family with whom we are staying, in the culture of mind they show in all the relationships of life and I speak now after a friendship which ripened into close intimacy recalled for me the fine qualities which marked the early Moslems.

Here was a father and five sons, living together in a patriarchal dignity, the father ruling with a firm and wise benevolence, and the sons filling their part with filial respect and affection, all conscious of their duty to their dependents and their neighbors, following a family tradition of many generations.

They are known as men faithful to their word, whatever may be the cost, and equally faithful to their self-respect, whatever the inducements to depart from it. The Bey would have been a Pasha, when titles were on sale, if he had not possessed qualities above the temptations of personal aggrandizement in the East a sore temptation indeed. It was my happiness with these friends to bridge the gulf of reticence which the different forms of Eastern and Western pride create to separate men of different races, and causes them to misjudge each other from across the gulf.

The relationship between the father and his sons is one of the pleasantest features of Egyptian life.

“To please your father is to please God, and to displease your father is to displease God,” said the Prophet Mohammed; and the teaching is taken to heart.

I never was in any family where the sons, of whatever age, did not rise when their father entered a room, waiting for him to be seated; an air of respect coming over them which prevents any slackness of good manners in his presence. His slightest wish is a law obeyed with quiet grace. The youngest son of this particular family sits by his father’s side at meals, and waits upon him as a most attentive servant. A father is seldom or never harsh to his sons; he reasons with them in a way that assumes intelligence, and a perfect desire to consider his wishes on their part.

An undutiful son is very rare amongst Moslems. The deplorable decline of respect paid to the aged in Western lands has no echo in the East.

“Nothing more greatly surprises the European traveller,” Mr. Stanley Lane-Poole admits,” than the polite and gentlemanlike manners of Egyptians of all classes. They always do the right thing in the most courteous, graceful, and self-possessed manner, and intentional rudeness to an older man, or a superior in rank, is almost unknown.”

Why Do Priests Enter Islam? The story of conversion of the Preacher Yusuf Estes (3)

How a preacher or priest in Christianity can ever go to Islam?

How could a preacher have turned his back on the perfect plan of salvation of Jesus Christ on the cross for you sins and converted to Islam?

The X-preacher Yusuf Estes says:

The American X-preacher Yusuf Estes continues saying:

Idea – “Change Him To Christian”

Then an idea came to me, “We can change this man to Christian.” So, I gave in and agreed to the meeting. But on my terms.

Met Him With A Bible, Cross and Cap with “Jesus Is Lord!” on it.

I agreed to meet him on a Sunday after church so we would be all prayed up and in good standing with the Lord. I would be carrying my Bible under my arm as usual. I would have my big shiny cross dangling and I would have on my cap which says: “Jesus is Lord” right across the front. My wife and two young daughters came along and we were ready for our first encounter with the ‘Moslems.’

Where Is He?

When I came into the shop and asked my father where the ‘Moslem’ was, he pointed and said: “He’s right over there.”

I was confused. That couldn’t be the Moslem. No way.

Turban & Beard?

I’m looking for a huge man with flowing robes, a big turban on his head, a beard half way down his shirt and eyebrows that go all the way across his forehead with a sword or a bomb under his coat.

No Turban – No Beard – [No Hair at All!]

This man had no beard. In fact, he didn’t even have any hair on his head at all. He was nearly bald. Best of all, he was very pleasant with a warm welcome and handshake. This didn’t make sense. I thought they are terrorists and bombers. What is this all about?

He Needs Jesus

Never mind. I’ll get right to work on this guy. He needs to be ‘saved’ in the ‘Name of Jesus’ and me and the Lord are going to do it.

Introduction & Interrogation

After a quick introduction, I asked him:

“Do you believe in God?”

He said: “Yes.” – (Good!)

Then I said: “Do you believe in Adam and Eve?”

He said: “Yes.” – (Very Good!)

I said: “What about Abraham? You believe in him and how he tried to sacrifice his son for God?”

He said: “Yes.” – (Even better!)

Then I asked: “What about Moses? Ten Commandments? Parting the Red Sea?”

Again he said: “Yes.” – (Better still!)

Then: “What about the other prophets, David, Solomon and John the Baptist?”

He said: “Yes.” – (Great!)

I asked: “Do you believe in the Bible?”

Again, he said: “Yes.” – (OK!)

So, now it was time for the big question:

“Do you believe in Jesus? That he was the Messiah (Christ) of God?”

Again the said: “Yes.” – (Fantastic!)

Well now – “This was going to be easier than I had thought.”

He was just about ready to be baptized only he didn’t know it.

And I was just the one to do it, too.

Shocking Knowledge – Muslims Believe in the Bible?

One day in the Spring of 1991, I came to know that the Muslims believed in the Bible. I was shocked. How could this be? But that’s not all, they believe in Jesus as:

1)    A true messenger of God;

2)    Prophet of God;

3)    Miracle birth without human intervention;

4)    He was the ‘Christ’ or Messiah as predicted in the Bible;

5)    He is with God now and most important;

6)    He will be coming back in the Last Days to lead the believers against the ‘Antichrist.’

After “winning souls to the Lord for Jesus” day after day, this would be a big achievement for me, to catch one of these ‘Moslems’ and ‘convert’ him to Christianity.

Cup of Tea – Discuss Beliefs

I asked him if he liked tea and he said he did. So off we went to a little shop in the mall to sit and talk about my favorite subject: Beliefs. While we sat in that little coffee shop for hours talking (I did most of the talking) I came to know that he was very nice, quiet and even a bit shy. He listened attentively to every word that I had to say and did not interrupt even one time. I liked this man’s way and thought that he had definite potential to become a good Christian. – Little did I know the course of events about to unravel in front of my eyes.

Agreed to Do Business

First of all, I agreed with my father that we should do business with this man and even encouraged the idea of him traveling along with me on my business trips across the northern part of Texas. Day after day we would ride together and discuss various issues pertaining to different beliefs that people have. And along the way, I could of course interject some of my favorite radio programs of worship and praise to help bring the message to this poor individual. We talked about the concept of God; the meaning of life; the purpose of creation; the prophets and their mission and how God reveals His Will to mankind. We also shared a lot of personal experiences and ideas as well.

The verse 35:10-12 of the Noble Quran says that all glory and power belong to Allah; and everything is recorded in the Guarded and Preserved Tablet. Then the verses talk about the outcome of those who wanted to assassinate the Prophet Muhammad and the Quran gives a scientific fact of the sweet versus salt sea that discovered only recently.

—————————————

Verse 35:10 says:

Whoever desires glory and power [should know that] all glory and power belong to Allah, belong to Him might and invincibility, in this world and in the Hereafter, and it cannot be obtained from Him except through obedience to Him, so let such [a one] be obedient to Him.

To Him ascends good words, that is to say, He is aware of such [good words], and these are [statements such as] ‘there is no god except Allah’ and the like; and as for righteous action, He exalts it, He accepts it; but those who plot evil, schemes against the Prophet Muhammad [as was the case] at the council assembly, in the way of imprisoning him, killing him or expelling him, as mentioned in the verse 8:30 of the Noble Quran] — theirs shall be a severe chastisement and their plotting shall come to nothing: it shall be ruined.

In other words, unto Him good words, the expression “there is no deity save Allah” (ascend, and the pious deed doth He exalt) He accepts pious deeds through the profession of “there is no deity except Allah”; (but those who plot iniquities) those who associate partners with Allah; it is also said this means: those who scheme to expel, imprison or assassinate Muhammad, theirs will be an awful doom, as awful as can be; (and the plotting of such (folk will come to naught) will not succeed. Historically, this happened in the life of this world, however, await to see their outcome in the afterlife.

Verse 35:11 says:

Allah created you from dust, He created you from Adam and Adam is from dust, then from a little fluid, the sperm drops of your fathers, then He made you pairs, the male and female. No female bears a child gives birth after the full period of pregnancy or prematurely (save with His knowledge) save with the knowledge and command of Allah. (And no one grows old who grows old, nor is aught lessened of his life, but it is recorded in a Book) except that it is recorded in the Guarded and Preserved Tablet.

(Lo! That) recording that (is easy for Allah) even without writing.

Verse 35:12 says:

 (And the two seas) the sweet and salty (are not alike: this, fresh, sweet, food to drink, this (other) bitter, salt. And from them both) the sweet and salty seas (ye eat fresh meat) fresh fish (and derive) especially from the salty sea (the ornament) gems and pearls (that ye wear. And you see the ship cleaving them) i.e. the seas (with its prow) coming and going driven by the same wind (that ye may seek of His bounty) of His provision, (and that haply ye may give thanks) so that you may give thanks for His bounty.

It is very amazing that the Quran talks about a sweet water coming from a sea; it is discovered recently that this scientific fact said by the Noble Quran is true.

Can anyone tells who taught Muhammad that there are sweet water in sea?

Verses 35:10-12 in different English translations of their meanings:

QARIB:

10) He who wants might, the might belongs to Allah altogether. to him ascend good words, and the righteous deed he raises. but those who devise evil deeds theirs shall be a terrible punishment, and their plotting shall be annulled.

11) Allah created you from dust, then from a (sperm) drop. then he made you pairs. no female conceives or is delivered except by his knowledge. he whose life is long, whatsoever is increased or decreased of his age is in a clear book. surely, that is easy for Allah.

12) The two seas are not alike. one is fresh, sweet and pleasant to taste, while the other is salt and bitter. yet, from each you eat fresh flesh and bring forth out of it ornaments for you to wear. and you see the ships plow their course through it so that you may seek his bounty, and in order that you give thanks.

SHAKIR:

10) Whoever desires honor, then to Allah belongs the honor wholly. to him do ascend the good words; and the good deeds, lift them up, and (as for) those who plan evil deeds, they shall have a severe chastisement; and (as for) their plan, it shall perish

11) And Allah created you of dust, then of the life-germ, then he made you pairs; and no female bears, nor does she bring forth, except with his knowledge; and no one whose life is lengthened has his life lengthened, nor is aught diminished of one’s life, but it is all in a book; surely this is easy to Allah

12) And the two seas are not alike: the one sweet, that subdues thirst by its excessive sweetness, pleasant to drink; and the other salt, that burns by its saltness; yet from each of them you eat fresh flesh and bring forth ornaments which you wear; and you see the ships cleave through it that you may seek of his bounty and that you may be grateful

PICKTHAL:

10) Whoso desireth power (should know that) all power belongeth to Allah. unto him good words ascend, and the pious deed doth he exalt; but those who plot iniquities, theirs will be an awful doom; and the plotting of such (folk) will come to naught.

11) Allah created you from dust, then from a little fluid, then he made you pairs (the male and female). no female beareth or bringeth forth save with his knowledge. and no-one groweth old who groweth old, nor is aught lessened of his life, but it is recorded in a book, lo! that is easy for Allah.

12) And the two seas are not alike: this, fresh, sweet, good to drink, this (other) bitter, salt. and from them both ye eat fresh meat and derive the ornament that ye wear. and thou seest the ship cleaving them with its prow that ye may seek of his bounty, and that haply ye may give thanks.

YUSUFALI:

10) If any do seek for glory and power,- to Allah belong all glory and power. to him mount up (all) words of purity: it is he who exalts each deed of righteousness. those that lay plots of evil,- for them is a penalty terrible; and the plotting of such will be void (of result).

11) And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then he made you in pairs. and no female conceives, or lays down (her load), but with his knowledge. nor is a man long-lived granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a decree (ordained). all this is easy to Allah.

12) Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike,- the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. yet from each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful.
