Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

Verses 7:97-100 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Do the Disbelievers feel secure from the coming of Allah’s chastisement?

2) None deems himself secure from Allah’s punishment save the disbelievers, the losers,

3) Who does Allah seal up their hearts?

4) None deems himself secure from Allah’s scheme and punishment save the disbelievers, the losers,

5) Allah says: does not the destruction of the ancient nations help the deniers to believe? And

6) the Quran is the first book that talks about the difference in the time on the earth.

The meaning of verse 7:97

Do the people of the townships, the deniers, feel secure from the coming of Allah’s wrath, Allah’s might, Allah’s chastisement, upon them as a night-raid while they are sleeping? And are completely unaware of it?

 

The meaning of verse 7:98

Or, the people of the townships, the deniers, feel secure from the coming of Allah’s wrath, Allah’s might, Allah’s chastisement, upon them in the daytime while they are playing? Playing herein may be literally used or as they are engaging in falsehood.

This verse talks about the coming Allah’s chastisement.  It is said that Allah’s chastisement will come at a specific time.  At such a specific time, we know that the time in half of the earth is day time while the time in the other half of the earth is night time.  The disbelievers are in the two halves.

So, when Allah’s chastisement comes, the disbelievers are either in day time or in night time.

It is a miracle of the Noble Quran to speak out about the difference in the time on the earth at a specific hour in which Allah’s chastisement shall come.

This scientific fact has been discovered after the revelation of the Noble Quran by more than 1200 years.

Consequently, it is likely to assume that the Quran is the first book on the earth that talks about the difference in the time on the earth at a specific hour

 

The meaning of verse 7:99

And so do they feel secure from Allah’s plotting?, from Allah’s scheming? that is, His drawing them on by degrees, through graces, and then seizing them suddenly. None feels secure from Allah’s scheming but the people who are losers, disbelievers; None deems himself secure from Allah’s scheme and punishment save the disbelievers

 

The meaning of verse 7:100

Is it not an indication, is it not clear to those who inherit the land after the destruction of its people that, if He will, Allah can smite them, punish them for their sins as He punished many nations before them; and seals their hearts so that they do not hear the messages of guidance and do not believe in Muhammad or the Quran?

In other words, the verse says:

Has it not been shown, [has it not] become clear, to those who inherit the earth, as a [place of] habitation, after, the destruction of, those who inhabited it that, if Allah will, He could smite them, with chastisement, for their sins?, as He smote those before them?

And, Allah seals up their hearts so that they do not hear, the admonition, in a way so as to reflect.

QARIB:

97) Do the inhabitants of the villages feel secure from our might coming to them at night whilst they sleep?

98) Or do the inhabitants of the villages feel secure from our might coming to them in the midmorning while they play?

99) (In reply to your devising) do they feel secure from the devising of Allah? none feels secure from the devising of Allah except the loosing nation.

100) Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if we willed we could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear.

 

SHAKIR:

97) What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep?

98) What! do the people of the towns feel secure from our punishment coming to them in the morning while they play?

99) What! do they then feel secure from Allah’s plan? but none feels secure from Allah’s plan except the people who shall perish

100) Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth after its (former) residents that if we please we would afflict them on account of their faults and set a seal on their hearts so they would not hear

 

PICKTHAL:

97) Are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of our wrath upon them as a night-raid while they sleep?

98) Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play?

99) Are they then secure from Allah’s scheme? none deemeth himself secure from Allah’s scheme save folk that perish.

100) Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if we will, we can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not?

 

YUSUFALI:

97) Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of our wrath by night while they were asleep?

98) Or else did they feel secure against its coming in broad daylight while they played about (care-free)?

99) Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin!

100) To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if we so willed, we could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear?

Chapter 6 of the Quran (59) the Obese Rabbi

It is well known that the last Prophet Muhammad is mentioned in full details in the Torah; that is why many Jewish rabbis like Abdullah ben Salam embraced Islam.

Allah commanded His Prophet Muhammad, to ask the Jews about his matter and how he is mentioned in their Scriptures. Muhammad did that many times.

However, their resentful envy toward Muhammad drove them to disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger.

 

The Jews said ‘Allah has never sent down any Scripture from heaven.’

Allah revealed: Say unto the Jews who speak thus: Who revealed the Book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for mankind?

 

It is also narrated that an obese rabbi (Malik ibn al-Sayf) went to argue with the Prophet about his prophethood. 

Muhammad said to him: ‘I plead with you by Him who has revealed the Torah to Moses, do you not find in the Torah that Allah loathes the obese rabbi?’

[In the genuine Torah that was revealed unto the Prophet Moses, an obese rabbi is a symbol indicates that such rabbi eats much and gives the needy a little]

 

Hearing that, the obese rabbi was horrified and he has got angry then he said: ‘O Muhammad has Allah revealed a Scripture to you?

The Prophet answered: ‘Yes, He did!’

The obese rabbi said: ‘By Allah, Allah has never sent down any Scripture from heaven. Allah has never sent anything to any human being’

The obese rabbi was shocked, when Muhammad’s companions exclaimed: ‘Woe unto you, not even to Moses!’

 

And so Allah, revealed Ayah 6:91; it says:

They do not estimate Allah its true estimation when they say: Allah has naught revealed unto a human being.

The verses 6:91 in two translations

 

QARIB:

They have not valued Allah with his true value, when they said ‘Allah has never sent down anything to a mortal. ‘Say: ‘who, then sent down the book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for people? You put it on to parchments, revealing them and hiding much, you have now been taught what neither you nor your fathers knew before! ‘Say: ‘Allah. ‘Then leave them, playing in their plunging.

 

SHAKIR:

And they do not assign to Allah the attributes due to him when they say: Allah has not revealed anything to a mortal. Say: who revealed the book which musa brought, a light and guidance to men, which you make into scattered writings which you show while you conceal much? and you were taught what you did not know, (neither) you nor your fathers. Say: Allah then leave them sporting in their vain discourses

Chapter 6 of the Quran (45) They Drink Boiling Water

Those who disbelieve and mock will be humiliated and severly punished because of their own sins; there is drink of boiling water and a painful doom waiting for them at the Day of Judgment, because they disbelieved in Muhammad and the Quran.

Ayah 70 says:

Some people take their religion, with which they have been charged, as a game and a diversion, making a mockery of it and the life of this world has deluded them; the comfort and bounties of the life of this world beguiled them.

What Allah commanded the Muslims to do with them?

Allah told the Prophet Muhammad to order the Muslims to forsake them, leave alone and so do not interfere with them.

On the other hand , as for the people who want to listen, remind them through the Quran; admonish by Allah (lest a soul be destroyed) be weakened and punished by what it earned of sins.

Remind them that when Allah’s punishment comes at the Day of Judgment, a soul has neither close friend to defend it nor intercessor to intercede for it; even if it brings all that which is on the face of the earth to compensate for Allah’s punishment it will not be accepted from it.

Those who disbelieve and mock will be humiliated and severly punished because of their own sins; there is drink of boiling water and a painful doom waiting for them at the Day of Judgment, because they disbelieved in Muhammad and the Quran.

QARIB:

Avoid those who take their religion as playing and an amusement and were seduced by the life of this world. admonish them hereby lest a soul be taken by what it has gained, for it has no guardian or intercessor before Allah, and though it offers every ransom, it shall not be taken from it. those were they who were taken for that which they earned. for them a drink of boiling water, a stern punishment for their disbelief.

 

SHAKIR:

And leave those who have taken their religion for a play and an idle sport, and whom this world’s life has deceived, and remind (them) thereby lest a soul should be given up to destruction for what it has earned; it shall not have besides Allah any guardian nor an intercessor, and if it should seek to give every compensation, it shall not be accepted from it; these were they who shall be given up to destruction for what they earned; they shall have a drink of boiling water and a painful chastisement because they disbelieved

 

PICKTHAL:

And forsake those who take their religion for a pastime and a jest, and whom the life of the world beguileth. Remind (mankind) hereby lest a soul be destroyed by what it earneth. it hath beside Allah no protecting ally nor intercessor, and though it offer every compensation it will not be accepted from it. Those were they who perish by their own deserts. For them is drink of boiling water and a painful doom, because they disbelieved.

 

YUSUFALI:

Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and were deceived by the life of this world. but proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah.
