The wandering stars in the Bible

In the Bible, we have:

·         The wandering stars

·         Stars which follow no orbit

·         Stars moving here and there

·         Stars going astray

·         Erring stars

·         Wayward stars

In the Bible, the verse Jude 1:13 says:

“Wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved forever.”

(American Standard Version)

This verse shows three Biblical points. These three points may be categorized as Scientific, Linguistic and Religious.

The Scientific point is that there are wandering stars

The Linguistic point is how the Bible’s editors understand the wandering stars

The Religious point is the outcome of the wandering stars

1,2. In order to understand the Scientific point; that is the presence of wandering stars; it seems productive to start with the Linguistic point, that is how the Bible’s editors of 16 different versions understand the wandering stars

Nine versions correctly translate the original Greek words to wandering stars; they are:

21st Century King James Version, American Standard Version, Amplified Bible, Common English Bible, Complete Jewish Bible,  Contemporary English Version,  GOD’S WORD Translation,  Good News Translation and Knox Bible

However, the other seven versions do not say wandering stars but they say:

Easy-to-Read Version and the New Century Version: stars that wander in the sky.

J.B. Phillips New Testament: stars which follow no orbit

New Life Version: stars moving here and there

Young’s Literal Translation: stars going astray

Wycliffe Bible erring stars

New English Translation wayward stars

The Scientific point in Jude 1:13

The smart reader which is not specialized in astronomy knows for sure that:

There are neither wandering stars nor stars that wander in the sky.

There are neither stars which follow no orbit nor stars going astray.

There are neither erring stars nor wayward stars.

3. The religious point is the outcome of the wandering stars. Such outcome is required to be believed in it for anyone who believes that the Bible is the true Word of God.

Herein, you find the outcome of these wandering stars as found in the following three versions:

21st Century King James Version says:

Wandering stars to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

J.B. Phillips New Testament says:

Stars which follow no orbit and their proper place is the everlasting blackness of the regions beyond the light.

New Century Version says:

Stars that wander in the sky, a place in the blackest darkness has been kept for them forever.

Now, the question is: would God, the creator of the stars say that there are wandering stars that follow no orbit and going astray?

If your answer is yes, then it is better to believe in their outcome.

The wandering stars in the Quran

In the Quran, Allah who created the Stars swears by their positions and locations and then Allah said that this swear is great and mighty if we know!

Anyway, I became very interested in different types of music, especially Gospel and Classical. Trinity Concept

Strangely enough, the word “Trinity” is not in the Bible. And it has been a concern for religious scholars as early as 200 years after Jesus was raised up by Almighty God. I would ask preachers or ministers to give me some sort of an idea how ‘one’ could figure out to become ‘three’ or how God Himself, Who can do anything He Wills to do, cannot just forgive people’s sins, but rather and had to become a man, come down on earth, be a human, and then take on the sins of all people; keeping in mind that all along He is still God of the whole universe and does as He Wills to do, both in and outside of the universe as we know it.  They never seemed to be able to come up with anything other than opinions or strange analogies.

My father was very active in supporting church work, especially church school programs. He became and ordained minister in the 1970s. He and his wife (my stepmother) knew many of the TV evangelists and preachers and even visited Oral Roberts and helped in the building of the “Prayer Tower” in Tulsa, OK. They also were strong supporters of Jimmy Swaggart, Jim and Tammy Fae Bakker, Jerry Fallwell, John Haggi and the biggest enemy to Islam in America, Pat Robertson.

 

Distributing “Praise” Tapes for Jesus

During the early 1980’s my Dad and his wife worked together and were most active in recording “Praise” tapes and distributing them for free to people in retirement homes, hospitals and homes for the elderly. We were really “winning souls to the Lord – for Jesus” day after day.

 

Met A Man From Egypt

It was early in 1991 when my father began doing business with a man from Egypt and told me that he wanted me to meet him. This idea appealed to me when I thought about the idea of having an international flavor. You know, the pyramids, sphinx, Nile River and all that.

He Was A “Mozlem”

Hijackers; Kidnappers; Bombers, Terrorists – and who knows what else?

Then my father mentioned that this man was a ‘Moslem.’ First, I hated the idea of meeting an “infidel, hijacker, kidnapper, bomber, terrorist, non-believer.” Any normal person would be repulsed at the idea. I couldn’t believe my ears. A ‘Moslem?’  No way! I reminded my dad of the various different things that we had heard about these people.

 

Lies Against Muslims & Islam – They Told Us, Muslims:

1)    They don’t even believe in God

2)    They worship a black box in the desert.

3)    And They kiss the ground five times a day.

 

No Way! I Did Not Want to Meet Him!

I did not want to meet this ‘Moslem’ man. No way! My father insisted that I meet him and reassured me that he was a very nice person. This was too much for me. Especially since the evangelists that we used to travel around with all hated Muslims and Islam very much. They even said things that were not true to make people afraid of Islam. So, why would I want anything to do with these people?

In Bible vs. Quran: and Paul too denies that Jesus is God (19) three Heads

In the Bible, Paul declares that God has authority over Jesus, God is supreme over Jesus.

On the other hand, Paul is not mentioned in the Quran; however, the Quran says that Jesus is but a great prophet.

In the Bible, Paul says: “But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God”. (1 Corinthians 11:3; American Standard Version)

 

Herein, Paul announces and defines three types of Heads

§  The head of the woman is the man

§  The head of every man is Christ

§  The head of Christ is God

Study of 41 different versions of the Bible reveals that “the head of Christ is God” is found in 22 versions and “God is the head of Christ” is found in 11 versions.

Herein, the meaning of the word “Head” will be discussed both in language and religion.

From the linguistic point of view, Head means position of leadership, greatest authority, or honor. Head also means a person to whom others are subordinate, as the director of an institution or the manager of a department; leader or chief, master, president, lord.

From the religious point of view, What is the meaning of “God is the head of Christ?”

§  The editors of four different versions of the Bible answer this question as follow:

§  The editors of the Contemporary English Version say “God is the head over Christ”

§  The editors of the GOD’S WORD Translation say “God has authority over Christ”

§  The editors of the Good News Translation say “God is supreme over Christ”

§  The editors of the New Living Translation say “the source of Christ is God and Christ is responsible to God”

This shows that God is over Jesus, God has authority over Jesus, God is supreme over Jesus and God is the source of Jesus.

Now, I will let the smart reader to answer this question: Are God and Jesus equal?

On the other hand, Paul is not mentioned in the Quran; however, the Quran says that Jesus is but a great prophet and Allah sent him to the Israelites.

The verse 4:171 gives guidance to the Christians to help them to know the truth. The verse says:

“O people of the scripture! do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. the messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and say not “three” – cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only one Allah. far is it removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. his is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. and Allah is sufficient as defender”. (The verse 4:171; PICKTHAL translation)

Verses 28:76-83 of the Noble Quran are talking about “Qaroun”, Moses’ cousin, who was very rich man. He was corrupter in the earth in the earth through his disdain, haughtiness and great wealth.

Verses 28:82-83 are talking about what those who had longed to be in his place said after Allah’s torment to Qaroun.  The sequel, Paradise, is for those who ward off evil, those who ward off disbelief, those who fear, God’s punishment, by performing deeds of obedience.

The story of Qaroun, Moses’ cousin is mentioned in the previous articles when talking about the verses  28:76-81 of the Noble Quran.

Furthermore, the verse 28:82-83 continue narrating this story.

 

Verse 28:82 says:

And those who had longed to be in his place, who had coveted his place, his status, standing and wealth the day before, were crying to one another were saying,

it is not as Qaroun said, i.e. that his wealth was his own doing, but rather Allah enlarges the provision for whom He will of His slaves and in the case of Qaroun such wealth was a lure to perdition, and straitened it, for whom He will out of care for the person. 

‘Alas! God expands provision for whomever He will of His servants and straitens it, He restricts it for whomever He will

If Allah had not been gracious unto us, and withheld from us what He gave him,

He would have caused it to swallow us also as it swallowed Qaroun.

‘Alas! The disbelievers never prosper; they will never be safe from Allah’s torment.

Lo! Indeed those who are ungrateful, for God’s grace, such as Qaroun, never prosper.

 

Verse 28:83 says

As for that Abode of the Hereafter, namely, Paradise, which Allah shall grant to those who do not desire to be haughty in the earth, through insolence, or to cause corruption, by committing acts of disobedience.

Allah assigns Paradise unto those who do not seek oppression and haughtiness in the earth through their wealth,

And the, praiseworthy, the sequel, Paradise, is for those who ward off evil, those who ward off disbelief, idolatry, haughtiness and corruption in the earth.

And it will be for those who fear, God’s punishment, by performing deeds of obedience.

Verses 28:82-83 in different translations

QARIB:

82) And in the morning those who had wished to be in his place the previous evening said: ‘indeed, Allah outspreads to whom he will among his worshipers, and he restrains. had he not shown us favor, he could have caused the earth to swallow us. indeed, the unbelievers shall never prosper. ‘

83) That is the last abode, we shall assign it to those who desire neither exorbitance in the earth, nor corruption. the outcome is for the cautious.

 

SHAKIR:

82) And those who yearned for his place only the day before began to say: ah! (know) that Allah amplifies and straitens the means of subsistence for whom he pleases of his servants; had not Allah been gracious to us, he would most surely have abased us; ah! (know) that the ungrateful are never successful

83) (As for) that future abode, we assign it to those who have no desire to exalt themselves in the earth nor to make mischief and the good end is for those who guard (against evil)

 

PICKTHAL:

82) And morning found those who had coveted his place but yesterday crying: ah, welladay! Allah enlargeth the provision for whom he will of his slaves and straiteneth it (for whom he will). if Allah had not been gracious unto us he would have caused it to swallow us (also). ah, welladay! the disbelievers never prosper.

83) As for that abode of the hereafter we assign it unto those who seek not oppression in the earth, nor yet corruption. the sequel is for those who ward off (evil).

 

YUSUFALI:

82) And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: “ah! it is indeed Allah who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of his servants he pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, he could have caused the earth to swallow us up! ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper.”

83) That home of the hereafter we shall give to those who intend not high-handedness or mischief on earth: and the end is (best) for the righteous.

This is Allah (29) Allah Has sent down on you a garment, and the best is the garment of righteous deeds

Satan is the friend of those who do not believe

Satan and his tribe see you from whence you do not see them

Satan and his tribe have their home inside your chests

Satan loves your nakedness to manifest your shameful parts

The Linguistic meanings of the Arabic words Shaitan and Iblis

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:26-27 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah Has sent down on you a garment, and the best is the garment of righteous deeds,

2) Satan is the friend of those who do not believe,

3) Satan and his tribe see you from whence you do not see them,

4) Satan and his tribe have their home in your breasts and

5) Satan loves your nakedness to manifest to your shameful parts

The meaning of verse 7:26

O Children of Adam! We have sent down on you a garment, that is, We have created it for you, to conceal, to cover up, your shameful parts, and feathers, meaning all that one adorns oneself with of garments, and the garment of Allah-fearing, righteous deeds and virtuous traits, ‘the garment of Allah-fearing’ that is best; that is one of Allah’s signs, the proofs of His power; perhaps they will remember, and believe (the address shifts to mankind).

In other words, Allah gives advice mankind and says:

(O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you) We have created and given you (raiment) clothes of cotton, wool and fur (to conceal your shame) your nakedness, (and splendid vesture) properties and stuff, that is the furniture of the house, (but the raiment of restraint from evil) the raiment of profession of Allah’s divine Oneness and of abstinence, (that is best) better than the raiment of cotton. (This) the raiment of cotton (is of the revelations of Allah) of the marvels of Allah, (that they may remember) take admonition.

The meaning of verse 7:27

Then, Allah takes you back to remember what happened to your father and mother, Adam and Eve; He says: 

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you, lead you astray, that is, do not follow him, lest you fall into temptation, as he caused your parents to go forth from the Garden, by tempting them, stripping them of their garments to manifest to them their shameful parts. Surely he, Satan, sees you, he and his tribe, his army, from where you do not see them, because of their ethereal bodies or their being colorless and invisible. We have made the devils friends, helpers and companions, of those who do not believe.

This verse shows that Satan loves the nakedness of mankind to manifest to your shameful parts; this is an easy way to sin and to commit adultery.

In other words, Allah gives advice mankind and says:

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan, Iblis, (seduce you) make you slip with regard to obeying Me (as he caused your (first) parents) Adam and Eve (to go forth from the Garden and tore off) took away (from them their robe) the robe of light (that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he) Iblis (sees you, he and his tribe) his soldiers, (from whence ye see him not) because your breasts are their dwellings. (Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends) helpers (for those who believe not) in Muhammad and in the Quran.

QARIB:

26) Children of Adam! we have sent down to you clothing that covers your nakedness, and feathers. but the clothing of piety that is better. that is one of the signs of Allah, in order that they remember.

27) Children of Adam! do not let Satan tempt you, as he brought your parents out of paradise. he stripped them of their garments to show them their shameful parts. indeed he and his descendants see you from where you cannot see them. we have made the satans supporters of those who do not believe.

SHAKIR:

26) O children of Adam! we have indeed sent down to you clothing to cover your shame, and (clothing) for beauty and clothing that guards (against evil), that is the best. this is of the communications of Allah that they may be mindful

27) O children of Adam! let not the shaitan cause you to fall into affliction as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them both their clothing that he might show them their evil inclinations, he surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you cannot see them; surely we have made the shaitans to be the guardians of those who do not believe

PICKTHAL:

26) O children of Adam! we have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment of restraint from evil, that is best. this is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember.

27) O children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. lo! we have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not.

YUSUFALI:

26) O ye children of Adam! we have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. but the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. such are among the signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!

27) O ye children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: we made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.

N.B.:

Shaitan or shaytan in Arabic means Satan or devil.

Iblis is the name of Satan which beguiled Adam.

Iblis in Arabic means the one which has no chance to have any mercy
