Atheists in Quran (41) come here if you are honest

In the previous two articles, Allah challenges the entire Humankind to produce a Quran like the one revealed and when they have failed Allah challenged them to produce ten Surah similar to the Quran.  When the entire Humankind have failed, Allah is challenging them in this article to produce only ONE Surah similar to the Quran.

However, this intellectual Linguistic challenge has never ever met.

The smart reader may acknowledge such a scientifically gradually decreasingorder of this unique Challenge

———————————

In the previous article (Atheists in Quran -39- a Linguistic Challenge for them), Allah challenges the entire Humankind to produce a Quran like the one revealed and when they have failed Allah challenged them to produce ten Surah similar to the Quran (See the article Atheists in Quran -40- the Challenge they could not cope with).  When the entire Humankind have failed to produce ten Surah similar to the Quran, Allah is challenging them, in this article, to produce only ONE Surah similar to the Quran

However, this intellectual Linguistic challenge has never ever met.

The smart reader may acknowledge such a scientifically gradually decreasing order of this unique Challenge.

In the verses 10:37-38 we have Allah’s testimony that

  • Muhammad has not forged the Quran
  • The Quran is Allah’s message to humankind

However, the prideful Atheists and unbelievers claim that the Quran is an invented book.

Well, are they sure? Are they trustful?

Allah put for them a simple method to prove that they are trustful and honest in their claim.

What is this simple method?

Produce, then, one Surah like it.

However, what if they cannot?

Can they seek help of friends and resources?

Yes, they can seek the help and resources of the entire Humankind.

Cannot they beat this very simple challenge?

It is impossible to achieve this target; they and the entire Humankind cannot produce one Surah.

Then what? Then before they claim that Muhammad has invented the Quran they have to show us one Surah like it or

Or what?

Or, they are untruthful and dishonest

The verses 10:37-38 say:

“This Quran could not have been devised by anyone other than Allah. It is a confirmation of [revelations] that went before it, and a full explanation of Allah’s Book, about which there is no doubt. It certainly comes from the Lord of the entire worlds. If they say: He (Muhammad) has invented it,’ say: ‘Produce, then, one Surah like it, and call for help on all you can other than Allah, if what you say is true.’

“This Quran could not have been devised by anyone other than Allah.” Why? Because the Quran has many features like for example:

  • Such unique characteristics of topic and expression; such perfection of order and harmony;
  • Such completeness of the faith it preaches and the enigma for human life it lays down;
  • Such a thorough concept of the nature of 1) Godhead, 2) the life of this world (and the Afterlife), 3) human beings, 4) the universe, 5) etc. Such a thorough concept of the nature of all of that could never have been designed by anyone other than Allah.

Only Allah is able to combine all this, because He is the One who knows:

  • The beginnings of all things
  • The ends of all things
  • The apparent and the hidden.

No one else can devise a system that is perfect, free of shortcomings and based on perfect knowledge.

In addition, the Quran confirms all the revelations and Scriptures given to earlier messengers. It confirms the original faith outlined by those messages and the good things they advocated. It is the same Book, outlining the same message preached by all messengers; that is = there is no god save Allah

It is the Book about which there is no doubt.

It certainly comes from the Lord of the entire worlds..

This is an assertion that the Quran could never have been fabricated or attributed falsely to Allah.

It is indeed a revelation by ‘the Lord of all the worlds.’

Having stated the truth about the Quran, the verses speaks of a certain possibility

The possibility that Muhammad has invented the Quran

If they say that Muhammad has invented the Quran, let them then mobilize their resources and invent a single Surah like it, if they can.

“Say: ‘Produce, then, one Surah like it, and call for help on all you can besides Allah, if what you say is true.’“

Herein, we have two PERMANENT issues:

  • First, the challenge, and
  • Second, their inability to cope with it

The challenge is permanent, as is their inability to meet it. It continues for the rest of time and no one will ever be able to meet it. Anyone who appreciates the strength, beauty and artistic expression of the Arabic language will recognize that the Quranic style is unique, and that no human being could produce anything similar to it. So will those who study human social systems and legal principles. If they study the system laid down in the Quran, they will realize that its approach to the organization of the human community is unique.

It is not merely the incomparability of the Quranic style and mode of expression; instead the absolutely miraculous nature of the Quran is easily recognized by experts in diverse disciplines such as language, society, law, psychology, sciences, embryology, Medicine, etc.

No wonder then that many Rabbi and Priests and the top scientists have embraced Islam just upon reading few verses of the Quran.

———————————

The verses 10:37-38 in different translations:

QARIB:

37-This Koran could not have been forged by other than Allah. it confirms what was before it; a distinguishing book, in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of all the worlds.

38-Do they say: ‘he has forged it’. say: ‘compose one chapter like it, and call upon whom you will, other than Allah (to help you), if what you say is true! ‘

SHAKIR:

37-And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds

38-Or do they say: he has forged it? say: then bring a chapter like this and invite whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful

PICKTHAL:

37-And this Qur’an is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind – therein is no doubt – from the Lord of the worlds.

38-Or say they: he hath invented it? say: then bring a Surah like unto it, and call (for help) on all ye can besides Allah, if ye are truthful.

YUSUFALI:

37-This Qur’an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the book – wherein there is no doubt – from the Lord of the worlds.

38-Or do they say, “he forged it”? say: “bring then a sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!”

Atheists in Quran (36) are they Winners or Losers

The Atheists have lost the understanding that makes their lives on earth consistent and harmonious with the life of the universe. They are the losers in the Hereafter; Eternal severe Punishment is awaiting for them.

———————————

In short, the Verses 39:62-63 says:

  1. Allah is the Creator of all things
  2. Allah is Guardian over all things, disposing of them as He will.
  3. All things come from Allah
  4. Allah is responsible for the provision of all creatures; Allah is a Witness over all things relating to their works.
  5. To Allah belong the keys of the heavens and the earth,

In other words, the keys to their storehouses of rain and vegetation and other things belong to Allah.

As for Atheists, those who disbelieve in:

  • The signs of Allah in His creation
  • The Quran, Allah’s Book,
  • The Prophet Muhammad who conveyed the revelations of Allah

Those Atheists are the big losers in the Hereafter; Eternal severe Punishment is awaiting for them.

———————————

The short but essential memos mean:

Allah is the Creator of everything, and of all things, He is the Guardian. His are the keys of the heavens and the earth. Those who deny Allah’s revelations will surely be the losers.

Everything in the universe confirms this truth.

No one can ever claim to create anything. No intelligible being can claim that this universe came into existence without a creator, when everything in it testifies to elaborate planning and a clear purpose behind creation. Nothing in it, from the very small to the very large, is left to chance:

“Of all things He is the Guardian.”

Allah control the heavens and the earth; He conducts their affairs the way He chooses. They operate in agreement with the system He put in place for them.

The big losers:

The Atheists have lost the understanding that makes their lives on earth consistent and harmonious with the life of the universe.

The Atheists have lost the comfort of divine guidance, the beauty of faith, the reassurance of belief and the sweetness of certainty.

On the Day of Judgment, they will lose their own souls and their families. Hence, the term ‘losers’ applies to them in all its shades and connotations.

———————————

The verses 39:62-63 in different translations:

QARIB:

62-Allah is the creator of all things, and of all things, he is the guardian.

63-To him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. Those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah they are the losers.

SHAKIR:

62-Allah is the creator of everything and he has charge over every thing

63-His are the treasures of the heavens and the earth; and (as for) those who disbelieve in the communications of Allah, these it is that are the losers

PICKTHAL:

62-Allah is creator of all things, and he is guardian over all things.

63-His are the keys of the heavens and the earth, and they who disbelieve the revelations of Allah – such are they who are the losers.

YUSUFALI:

62-Allah is the creator of all things, and he is the guardian and disposer of all affairs.

63-To him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the signs of Allah,- it is they who will be in loss.

Atheists in Quran (31) Noah pleads with his Atheist son

Aware of the terrible reality, Noah pleads with him for the last time: O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown. His son said: I shall seek refuge in a mountain, which will afford me protection from the waves. In an instant, the gigantic waves swallow everything up, so he was among the drowned by the flood

———————————

The verses 11:40-42 say,

“Embark with us, my child, and do not stay with the unbelievers.”

As a proud arrogant, the Atheist son does not respond to his loving father.

He does not realize the extent of the terrible event that is taking place.

Noah said: O my son! Come ride with us

His son said: I shall take refuge in a mountain that will protect me, from the water’.

Noah said: O my son! Be saved with us

His son said: the mountain that will preserve me, from the flood’.

Noah said: O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown

His son said: the mountain will prevent me from drowning, the mountain will afford me protection from the flood.

Aware of the terrible reality, Noah pleads with him for the last time:

“Today there is no protection for anyone from Allah’s judgment, except those who shall enjoy His mercy.”

In an instant, the scene changes and the gigantic waves swallow everything up:

The Huge waves came between them, so he was among the drowned by the flood

Today as we read this story, it is as if we see these events happening now before our very own eyes.

The ark is sailing amid huge waves, Noah, the worried father makes one plea after another; his conceited young son insolently turns his back, and then suddenly a towering wave settles the issue.

Everything is over as if the dialogue did not take place.

The element of fear and worry in this scene is measured by its:

  1. Depth in the human soul, in the conversation between Noah and his son.
  2. Extent in nature, as the waves rise high to submerge the tops of the mountains.

Both elements are equal.

This is a distinctive feature of how the Quran tells us about the ancient people.

——

Then, the storm subsides, an air of calmness spreads, the matter is settled according to Allah’s will.

The verse here gives the impression of something coming to a complete standstill.

“And the word was spoken: ‘Earth, swallow up your waters. Heaven, cease (your rain).’ Thus, the waters sank into the earth, and Allah’s will was done, and the ark came to rest on Mount Judi. The word was spoken: Away with these evil-doing folk.’”

It was said,

‘O earth, swallow your waters, that have sprung forth from you, and the Earth reabsorbed it and

O heaven, abate!’ withhold the rain, and it did.

The waters subsided, the affair was accomplished, the matter of the destruction of Noah’s people was complete and it settled,

The earth swallows up its water and the heaven stops raining.

Furthermore, the earth’s surface was soon dry, as excess waters penetrated deep underground.

Allah addressed the earth and the heavens as if they were human beings.

Both comply with the commandment.

No wonder they did when they are Allah’s obedient creatures.

“Allah’s will was done and the ark came to rest on Mount Judi.”

That was its final stop. “The word was spoken: ‘Away with these evil-doing folk.’”

  • Those who were supposed to be destroyed were destroyed and
  • Those who were supposed to be saved were saved.

It was said:

‘Away with perish the evildoing, disbelieving, folk!’

The Quran does not say who said this statement, but it generates the impression that the whole affair does not in need to be considered again.

Let the evildoers disappear beyond Allah’s mercy for they deserve to be expelled;

Let them be banished from memory, for they do not deserve to be remembered.

———————————

The verses 11:43-44 in different translations:

QARIB:

43- But he replied: ‘i shall seek refuge on a mountain, which will protect me from the water. ‘He (Noah) said: ‘today, there is no defender from the command of Allah, except those to whom he has mercy. ‘And the waves came between them, and he was drowned.

44- And it was said: ‘earth, swallow up your waters. Heaven, cease! ‘The water subsided and the matter was accomplished. And the ark came to rest upon (the mountain of) aljudi, and it was said: ‘be gone, evildoing nation! ‘

SHAKIR:

43- He said: i will betake myself for refuge to a mountain that shall protect me from the water. Nuh said: there is no protector today from Allah’s punishment but he who has mercy; and a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned

44- And it was said: o earth, swallow down your water, and o cloud, clear away; and the water was made to abate and the affair was decided, and the ark rested on the judi, and it was said: away with the unjust people

PICKTHAL:

43- He said: i shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: this day there is none that saveth from the commandment of Allah save him on whom he hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned.

44- And it was said: o earth! swallow thy water and, o sky! be cleared of clouds! and the water was made to subside. And the commandment was fulfilled. And it (the ship) came to rest upon (the mount) al-judi and it was said: a far removal for wrongdoing folk!

YUSUFALI:

43- The son replied: “i will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water.” Noah said: “this day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom he hath mercy! “And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the flood.

44- Then the word went forth: “o earth! Swallow up thy water, and o sky! Withhold (thy rain)!” and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The ark rested on mount Judi, and the word went forth: “away with those who do wrong!”

Atheists in Quran (30) the Atheist Noah’ son in Tsunami

Noah saw his son; he was standing on the side of a mountain aloof from the Ark. The waves were as huge as mountains. Noah cried unto his son, O my son! Come ride with us, be saved with us; do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown. Does the Atheist Son respond to his loving father?

———————————

In the previous article, Allah told Noah:

No more of your people will believe; they are hopeless.

Therefore, it is over and the unbelievers are done.

Verily, they will be drowned by the flood.

Allah commanded Noah: Build the ark

Then what happened?

The meanings of the verses11:40-42:

Allah gave Noah this sign;

‘The fountains of the earth gushed forth

This means when water started to gush forth from the earth and rain poured down in torrents.

When this took place, Allah said to Noah:

“Take into the Ark a pair of every species, as well as your family, except those against whom Our word has passed, and all those who have accepted the faith.”

It is obvious that Allah has revealed to Noah the whole process systematically at the right moment.

Noah first received orders to build the ark.

At the beginning, the verse does not tell us why the ark is built

Then, Noah received the instructions for the following stage

When the sign took place, (Allah told him 🙂

Such that when Our command came, for their destruction

When the appointed time for chastisement happens and you see the sign;

Load therein, in the ship:

  • Of every kind, male and female, that is, of every species of these two, two, a male and a female; Allah gathered for Noah all the beasts of prey and birds and other animals.  Noah was ordered to take into the ark a pair of all such living species as he could take.
  • Your family and your household save the unbeliever
  • Those who believed

However, a few were they who believed with him

It is said that the number of all those aboard the ship was eighty, half of whom were men and the other half were women.

Noah carried out his instructions exactly as they were given to him

Praying to Allah, Noah said to the believers:

  • Embark therein in the ship!
  • In the name of Allah be its course wherever it sails to and
  • In the name of Allah be its mooring wherever it stops.
  • Allah makes it sail wherever He wills and makes it stop wherever He wills.

This statement indicates that Noah put himself and the ark in Allah’s hands and trusted in Him. The ark would float and anchor under Allah’s watchful eyes. For, what could Noah and his people do to steer the ark to safety in such a flood?

[Envisage these huge waves like mountains that would have caused many titanic ships to drown, to understand Allah’s will, which protect the first primitive ship in the history of humankind]

Then Noah said:

Lo! My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful towards the one who believes and repents.

——-

The ship sailed with them amid huge waves; the waves’ height and size were like mountains

Noah’s Atheist Son

We then have the very awesome scene of the flood.

Two elements of fear are at work here: one originates from nature, stormy but silent as it is; and the other is felt in one’s innermost soul. Both converge as the ark moves on amidst waves as high as mountains.

At this terrible, decisive moment, Noah looks in a certain direction and sees one of his sons who has not joined them in the ark.

Noah saw his son; he was standing on the side of a mountain aloof from the ship

Paternal emotion roused up in Noah.

Immediately, Noah cried unto his stray son:

  • O my son! Come ride with us
  • O my son! Be saved with us
  • O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown.

Does the Atheist Son respond to his loving father?

———————————

The verses 11:40-42 in different translations:

QARIB:

40- And when our command came and the oven gushed (forth with water), we said (to Noah): ‘take on board (the ark) a pair from every species and your family, except he of whom the word has already been spoken, and those who believe. And none except a few believed with him.

41- He (Noah) said: ’embark. In the name of Allah will be its course and berthing. indeed, my lord is forgiving, the most merciful. ‘

42- And so it (the ark) ran with them amidst the mountainous waves, and Noah cried out to his son, who was standing apart, ’embark with us, my son, do not be with the unbelievers! ‘

SHAKIR:

40- Until when our command came and water came forth from the valley, we said: carry in it two of all things, a pair, and your own family– except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and those who believe. and there believed not with him but a few

41- And he said: embark in it, in the name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring; most surely, my lord is forgiving, merciful

42- And it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and nuh called out to his son, and he was aloof: o my son! Embark with us and be not with the unbelievers

PICKTHAL:

40- (Thus it was) till, when our commandment came to pass and the oven gushed forth water, we said: load therein two of every kind, a pair (the male and female), and thy household, save him against whom the word hath gone forth already, and those who believe. And but a few were they who believed with him.

41- And he said: embark therein! In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring. lo! my lord is forgiving, merciful.

42- And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah cried unto his son – and he was standing aloof – o my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers.

YUSUFALI:

40- At length, behold! there came our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! we said: “embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family – except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the believers.” but only a few believed with him.

41- So he said: “embark ye on the ark, in the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! for my lord is, be sure, oft-forgiving, most merciful!”

42- So the ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, And Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): “o my son! Embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!”

Atheists in Quran (29) they mocked Noah

Allah commanded Noah: Build the ark and Noah did.

While building the ark, group after group of the insolent Atheists men pass by and scoff at Noah and his followers. Noah said to them, though you mock us today, yet we mock you tomorrow, because Allah will save us and will drown you.

———————————

In the previous article, Allah told Noah:

“None of your people will believe apart from those who have already accepted the faith.”

Those who are susceptible to faith have already accepted it. The others are hopeless.

Therefore, it is over and the unbelievers are done.

Allah commanded Noah: Build the ark

The verses 11:37-39 disclose the story of building the Ark and tell us what happened during building it, the verses say:

Build the Ark under Our watch, protection and inspiration and by Our command

We will look after you and give you instructions as you do so.

Start the construction of the ship under Our care and by Our command.

[Then, we have to watch this Allah’ strong order]

Do not address Me concerning the unbelievers who have done evil, by asking that I should refrain from destroying them

Do not plead with Me on behalf of those unbelievers about saving them.

The Atheists’ destiny has been decided and you are not to plead their case.

You can neither pray for them to be guided to the truth, nor can you pray for their punishment.

Prayers are to no avail when Allah’s will comes to pass.

Verily, they will be drowned by the flood.

————-

Noah and his followers were building the Ark

Every time that chieftain of a notable council, a group, of his people passed him, they scoffed at him

Whenever a group, of his people passed him, they made mock of him, they derided him for so doing.

They told Noah’s followers that they are following an insane.

Noah builds the ark and group after group of his insolent people pass by and scoff at him. They scoff at the man who said he was a messenger from Allah and argued long with them, but who now busies himself making a boat. They mock him because they can only see what appears to them.

Noah said unto them:

The same you scoff at us is the same we scoff at you.

Though you make mock of us today, yet we mock at you tomorrow.

Because we are saved, while you drown.

Noah, on the other hand, is full of confidence as he tells them that their mockery will rebound. We will scoff at you because you cannot visualize that Allah has a definite purpose beyond all this, and you cannot imagine what awaits you.

Will this apply to us or to you when everything will be revealed?

You shall know to whom will come a punishment that will confound, humiliate and destroy him

You shall know upon whom an everlasting chastisement will fall and will be enjoined upon in the Hereafter.

———————————

The verses 11: 37-39 in different translations:

QARIB:

37- Build the ark with our seeing (and protection), and as we reveal. do not speak to me concerning the evildoers; they shall be drowned. ‘

38- Whenever an assembly of his nation passed by him as he was building the ark, they mocked him. whereupon he said: ‘if you mock us, we shall indeed mock you, just as you mock.

39- You shall know to whom a degrading punishment will come, and upon whom an everlasting punishment will fall. ‘

SHAKIR:

37- And make the ark before our eyes and (according to) our revelation, and do not speak to me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned

38- And he began to make the ark; and whenever the chiefs from among his people passed by him they laughed at him. he said: if you laugh at us, surely we too laugh at you as you laugh (at us)

39- So shall you know who it is on whom will come a chastisement which will disgrace him, and on whom will lasting chastisement come down

PICKTHAL:

37- Build the ship under our eyes and by our inspiration, and speak not unto me on behalf of those who do wrong. lo! they will be drowned.

38- And he was building the ship, and every time that chieftains of his people passed him, they made mock of him. he said: though ye make mock of us, yet we mock at you even as ye mock;

39- And ye shall know to whom a punishment that will confound him cometh, and upon whom a lasting doom will fall.

YUSUFALI:

37- “But construct an ark under our eyes and our inspiration, and address me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the flood).”

38- Forthwith he (starts) constructing the ark: every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. he said: “if ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise!

39- “But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame,- on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:”

Atheists in Quran (16) they mocked Muhammad

The Quran talked about the Atheists’ mockery they hurled at the Prophet Muhammad. The Quran says, “If they knew of the time when they shall not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs and none shall protect them from it at the Resurrection”.

———————————

Do Not Overlook this Warning

The verses 21:38-41 describe how the Atheists deal with Muhammad

The verses talk about

  • The way the unbelievers received Allah’s Messenger and the revelations he was given.
  • The mockery they hurled at him and
  • Their persistent disbelief.

The verses follow this by pointing out that, by nature, man is hasty.

One manifestation of this haste is the unbelievers’ attempts to hasten Allah’s punishment.

Hence, it warns them against such haste and makes it clear to them that they must refrain from mocking the Prophet Muhammad if they wish to avoid the consequences of such unwarranted behavior. That is the persistent suffering of the unbelievers in the hereafter.

The verses talk about the accuracy of the reckoning in the hereafter and the suitability of the reward given on the Day of Judgment.

Thus, the reckoning and the reward are linked to the rules operating in the universe, human nature and human life.

What is more, they try to hasten the punishment against which the Prophet warns them.

For, by nature, man is hasty:

“Man is a creature of haste.”

Haste is present in man’s very nature and constitution.

Man always stretches his eyes to what lies ahead, beyond the present moment, aiming to grasp it with his own hand.

Man wants to achieve, the moment it flashes in his mind, all that seems desirable. He wants to see all that is promised to him, even though it may be to his detriment.

Such is man’s nature, unless he establishes a firm relationship with Allah, which gives him strength and reassurance. He will then trust to Allah’s wisdom, leaving His will to run its course without hastening events. For faith combines trust with patience and reassurance.

Those Atheists hastened Allah’s punishment, wondering when the promise of punishment in the hereafter, as well as in this life, would be fulfilled.

The Quran describes here for them a scene of the suffering in the hereafter, while also warning them against a similar punishment to that which befell earlier communities that rejected the faith “If only the unbelievers knew [that there will come]

  • A time when they will not be able to shield their faces and their backs from the fire;
  • A time when they will find no support.

Indeed, it will come upon them all of a sudden, and will stupefy them.

They will be unable to avert it, nor will they be allowed any respite.

Other messengers were derided before your time; but those who scoffed at them were [in the end] overwhelmed by the very thing that they derided.”

(Verses 39-41)

If the Atheists only knew what will happen to them, they would change their attitude completely.

They would stop their mockery and hastening of what is bound to come.

Let them, then, see what is bound to come. Therein, the fire surrounds them on all sides.

Imagine their frantic movements, described implicitly in the verse, to protect their faces and their backs against the fire, but their attempt is futile. It is as if the fire engulfs them on all sides. They can neither keep it away from themselves, nor retreat to seek protection. Nor is even a short respite from it possible.

That the punishment comes suddenly is only the response for their hastening it.

They used to say time after time:

“When is this promise to be fulfilled, if what you say be true?” (Verse 38)

The answer is that it comes suddenly, perplexing their minds andparalyzing their will. Thus, they are unable to think or act, let alone enjoy a period ofgrace to mend their ways.

This applies to the punishment in the hereafter. As for this world’s punishment, it certainly befell communities before them, which ridiculed Allah’s messengers. Just like those communities were unable to ward off a punishment that wiped them out altogether, so these Atheists are unable to avert their defeat and captivity. They are thus warned not to deride Allah’s Messenger, so as to avoid the punishment that befalls those who ridicule prophets. Such fate and punishment is bound to come, because it is part of Allah’s law which will inevitably take effect, just as the destruction of earlier communities, guilty of the same offence, proves.

———————————

The verses 21:38-41 in different translations:

QARIB:

38-They say: ‘if you are truthful, when will this promise come? ‘

39-If the unbelievers only knew when they will be unable to shield either their faces or their backs from the fire; when they will not be helped!

40-It will overtake them suddenly, dumbfounding them. they shall be unable to ward it off, and they shall not be respited.

41-Before you, other messengers were mocked, but the mockers were encompassed by the very thing they mocked.

SHAKIR:

38-And they say: when will this threat come to pass if you are truthful?

39-Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped

40-Nay, it shall come on them all of a sudden and cause them to become confounded, so they shall not have the power to avert it, nor shall they be respited

41-And certainly messengers before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed

PICKTHAL:

38-And they say: when will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful?

39-If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped!

40-Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved.

41-Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them.

YUSUFALI:

38-They say: “when will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?”

39-If only the unbelievers knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and (when) no help can reach them!

40-Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.

41-Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.

Atheists in Quran (4) they are heedless

The pride of the Atheists that is without any right makes them heedless.
————————————-
The meanings of the verse 7:146
Allah shall turn away from believing in His Words those who Proud and magnify themselves wrongfully without any right.
The pride that is without any right is the pride of the rich, the powerful and the world-rulers toward the poor and the weak. This is the meaning of Allah’s words, “who are proud in the earth without any right.”
Allah shall turn away from believing in His Words those who behave with superiority in the earth without right because acting superior makes their hearts veiled from the Truth.
Allah shall turn away from my signs those who behave arrogantly in the earth without right
Allah will deprive them of understanding the Quran, and following the Messenger Muhammad.
That, turning of them away is because they have denied Allah’ signs and were heedless of them.
If they see the way of righteousness, the way of Islam and goodness, they would not consider it a way, and
If they see the way of error, the way of disbelief, they would consider it a way.
If the Atheists see the way of error, adopt it as a way being active regarding His prohibitions, and passive regarding His commandments, and
They are falsely claiming to have the power and strength to do that which their Egos had a propensity for, and their conceit in that
Their natural selves direct them
Their too proud Egos direct them
To conclude, Allah shall turn away from believing in Quran those who are Proud without any right and are heedless.
The next article will present one scientific verse from the Noble Quran to show you how the pride of the Atheists makes them heedless.
————————————-
The verse 7:146 in different translations:
QARIB:
From my signs I will turn away the unrightfully, arrogant in the land, so that even if they witness every sign they would not believe it. If they see the path of righteousness, they shall not take it as a path; but if they see the path of error, they shall take it for their path because they belied our signs and were inattentive towards them.
SHAKIR:
I will turn away from my communications those who are unjustly proud in the earth; and if they see every sign they will not believe in it; and if they see the way of rectitude they do not take it for a way, and if they see the way of error. they take it for a way; this is because they rejected our communications and were heedless of them
PICKTHAL:
I shall turn away from my revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth, and if they see each token believe it not, and if they see the way of righteousness choose it nor for (their) way, and if they see the way of error choose if for (their) way. that is because they deny our revelations and are used to disregard them.
YUSUFALI:
those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right – them will I turn away from my signs: even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. for they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

This is Allah (66) when Good Deeds of unbelievers = nothing

This is Allah (66) Allah Blamed the Israelites for Taking the Calf as God

The Israelites made an idol calf and worshipped it!

Allah said: Did they not see that it spoke not to them, nor guided them to any way? So how can it be taken as a god?  Yet they took it as such, a god, and were evildoers, for taking it so.

Allah’s Law: The Good Deeds of the Disbelievers are nullified in the Hereafter

Allah says: for those who deny our revelations; and Messengers and disbelieve in resurrection after death; their good deeds are nullified and they will not be rewarded for such deeds. their good deeds = nothing in the Afterlife.

Allah Inquires: Shall the Disbelievers Requited Aught Save What They Used To Do?

Allah inquires: Shall the disbelievers requited in the Hereafter aught save what they used to do and say of evil in the life of this world? in the way of denial and acts of disobedience?

What the Israelites Have Done with the Gold that they Took from the Egyptians?

The Quran says that the Israelites made of the gold  which they had borrowed from the Egyptians a calf to worship it.

The Israelites Made an Idol Calf which Yielded Audible Sounds?

The Quran says: the Samaritan had collected dust from where the hoof of the Angel Gabriel’s steed had trodden, and he placed that dust in the mouth of the calf, for the dust has the effect of giving life to that in which it is placed.

When the Israelites Said: We Verily Are of the Lost?

When the Israelites were certain that they had gone astray from the Truth and guidance, they said: Unless our Lord have mercy on us and forgive us we verily are of the lost by receiving the punishment.

When the Israelites Realized that They Had Gone Astray From the Truth

The Israelites realized that they had gone astray, after the return of Moses from the communion; because Moses blamed them for taking the calf as god and worshipped it.

Verses 7:147-149 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah’s Law: The good deeds of the disbelievers are nullified in the Hereafter,

2) Allah inquires: Shall the disbelievers requited in the Hereafter aught save what they used to do?

3) What the Israelites have done with the Gold that they took from the Egyptians?

4) The Israelites made an idol calf which yielded audible sounds?

5) Allah blamed the Israelites for taking the calf as god,

6) When the Israelites realized that they had gone astray from the Truth and

7) When the Israelites said: we verily are of the lost?

———————————–

The meaning of verse 7:147

Allah says:

And for those who deny Our revelations; those who disbelieve in Our Scripture and Messenger and the meeting of the Hereafter i.e. and disbelieve in resurrection after death (what about them?)

their works are fruitless i.e. their good deeds are nullified and they will not be rewarded for such deeds.

Then Allah inquires: Are they requited, that which they are requited of in the Hereafter aught save what they used to do and say of evil in the life of this world?

In other words, those who deny Allah’ signs and the encounter in the Hereafter, the Resurrection and so on. their works, the good deeds they performed in the world, such as the maintenance of kinship ties or voluntary almsgivings, have failed, are invalid, and will not be rewarded, since they are not binding in this case.  Shall they, they shall not, be requited anything but, the requital for, what they used to do?, in the way of denial and acts of disobedience?

The meaning of verse 7:148

And the people of Moses, after he had departed for the communion with Allah, made of their ornaments, which they had borrowed from Pharaoh’s folk on the pretext of a wedding celebration, and which remained in their possession, a calf, which the Samaritan had fashioned for them therefrom; a mere living body of flesh and blood, which lowed, that is, which made audible sounds like a cow.

But how come that the Samaritan made for them a cow which made audible sounds from the gold?

It is said that, it [the calf] was transformed in this way when the dust, which the Samaritan had collected from where the hoof of Gabriel’s steed had trodden, was placed in its mouth, for it has the effect of giving life to that in which it is placed.

Then Allah asks:

Did they not see that it spoke not to them, nor guided them to any way?,

So how can it be taken as a god?

Yet they took it as such, a god, and were evildoers, for taking it so.

In other words, the folk of Moses, after he had left them to go in retreat in the mountain, made a calf for worship, (made) out of their ornaments, of saffron hue of their gold, which gave a lowing sound, a sound that the Samaritan made for them. Saw they not, did the people of Moses not know that it spoke not unto them i.e. the calf, nor guided them to any way?

They chose it, they worshipped the calf out of ignorance, and became wrong-doers and they harmed themselves by worshipping it.

The meaning of verse 7:149

And when they (the Israelites) became at a loss, that is, when they became remorseful for having worshipped it, and saw, and realized, that they had gone astray, thereby, and this was after Moses’ return from the communion; because Moses blamed them for taking the calf as god and worshipped it.

They said: Unless our Lord is merciful to us and forgives us ,verily we shall be among the losers.

And when they (feared the consequences thereof and when they regretted having worshipped the calf and knew and were certain that they had gone astray from the Truth and guidance, they said: Unless our Lord have mercy on us and forgive us and hence torment us, we verily are of the lost by receiving the punishment.

148) In his absence, the nation of Moses made a calf from their ornaments, a body with a hollow sound. did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor guide them to a path? yet they took it in worship and were harmdoers.

149) But when it landed in their hands and saw that they had strayed, they said: ‘if our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we shall be lost. ‘

SHAKIR:

147) And (as to) those who reject our communications and the meeting of the hereafter, their deeds are null. shall they be rewarded except for what they have done?

148) And Musa’s people made of their ornaments a calf after him, a (mere) body, which gave a mooing sound. what! could they not see that it did not speak to them nor guide them m the way? they took it (for worship) and they were unjust

149) And when they repented and saw that they had gone astray, they said: if our Lord show not mercy to us and forgive us we shall certainly be of the losers

PICKTHAL:

147) Those who deny our revelations and the meeting of the hereafter, their works are fruitless. are they requited aught save what they used to do?

148) And the folk of Moses, after (he left them), chose a calf (for worship), (made) out of their ornaments, of saffron hue, which gave a lowing sound. saw they not that it spake not unto them nor guided them to any way? they chose it, and became wrong-doers.

149) And when they feared the consequences thereof and saw that they had gone astray, they said: unless our Lord have mercy on us and forgive us, we verily are of the lost.

YUSUFALI:

147) Those who reject our signs and the meeting in the hereafter,- vain are their deeds: can they expect to be rewarded except as they have wrought?

148) The people of Moses made, in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of calf, (for worship): it seemed to low: did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor show them the way? they took it for worship and they did wrong.

149) When they repented, and saw that they had erred, they said: “if our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall indeed be of those who perish.”

This is Allah (65) How Allah describes arrogates?

This is Allah (65) Allah Said to Moses: Take the Torah Seriously

Allah Said to Moses: Take the Torah seriously and earnestly, and enjoin your people to adhere to the fairest precepts in it i.e. command your people saying: Take the better act.

Allah Says: if the Arrogates See the Right Path they do not adopt it and vice versa

In few words, Allah Describes arrogates. Allah says: if they see the way, the path, of righteousness, they do not adopt it as a way, and if they see the way of misguidance, they adopt it as a way.

Allah Shall Turn Away Believing in His Revelations Those Who Behave Arrogantly

Allah said: I shall turn away from Revelations, the proofs of my power, in the way of creations and otherwise, those who magnify themselves wrongfully without any right

Allah Wrote For Moses the Law upon the Tablets

Allah wrote for Moses, upon the tablets, the prohibition to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things of the lawful and the unlawful, commands and prohibitions.

Allah Showed Moses the Dwelling Place of Pharaoh in the Afterlife

Allah showed Moses the dwelling places of Pharaoh and his followers in the Eternal Fire. These dwelling places are their forever!

What were the Tablets of Torah made from and how many they were?

It is said that the Tablets of Torah were made from the Lote-tree of Paradise, or of chrysolite or emerald, and they were either seven or ten.

Could Moses Carry the Torah mentioned in the Quran or the Torah mentioned in the Bible?

It seems reasonable for Moses to lift and carry the Torah mentioned in the Quran; but it is impossible for Him to lift and carry the Torah that is mentioned in the Bible.

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-69) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

Verses 7:145-146 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah shall turn away believing in His revelations those who behave arrogantly,

2) Allah says: if the arrogates see the right path they do not adopt it and vice versa,

3) Allah wrote for Moses the Law upon the tablets,

4) Allah said to Moses: Take the Torah seriously,

5) What were the Tablets of Torah made from and how many they were?

6) Could Moses lift and carry the Torah of the Quran or the Torah of the Bible? And

7) Allah showed Moses the dwelling places of Pharaoh in the Afterlife

———————————–

In the previous article (64)

Allah said: O Moses! I have preferred thee above mankind, above the Children of Israel by My messages and by My speaking unto thee. So hold that which I have given thee, act upon that which I have given you, and be among the thankful that I chose to speak to you from among all people.

The meaning of verse 7:145

And Allah inscribed for Moses in the Tablets, that is, the Tablets of the Torah about all things, one needs in religion, as an admonition and a detailing, an explanation, of all things.

In other words, And Allah wrote for Moses, upon the tablets, the lesson, the prohibition to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things of the lawful and the unlawful, commands and prohibitions.  Then Allah said to Moses:

1) Take it then firmly, seriously and earnestly, and enjoin your people to adhere to the fairest precepts in it i.e. command your people (saying): Take the better act and 2) I shall show you the abode of the wicked, evil-livers, the transgressors of Pharaoh and his followers, which is hell; the Eternal Fire.

This indicates that Allah showed Moses the dwelling places of  Pharaoh and his followers in the Eternal Fire. These dwelling places are their forever!

Furthermore, It is said that these Tablets were made from the Lote-tree of Paradise, or of chrysolite or emerald, and they were either seven or ten. This seems reasonable because Moses would be able to carry them.

N.B. the Torah today would not be written on 7 or 10 tablets of chrysolite or emerald; one needs some 700-1000 tablets to write it on. These tablets need a big truck to carry them!  A world champion of the weight lifting could not carry them!

This is the difference between the Torah mentioned in the Quran and the Torah found in the Bible!

The meaning of verse 7:146

Then Allah said:

I shall turn away from My signs, the proofs of My power, in the way of creations and otherwise, those who behave arrogantly in the earth without right, by humiliating them so that they do not magnify themselves;

And if they see every sign do not believe in it,

And if they see the way, the path, of rectitude, the guidance that has come from Allah, do not adopt it as a way, to follow,

And if they see the way of error, misguidance, adopt it as a way.

That, turning of them away, is because they have denied Our signs and were heedless of them.

A similar statement has been made above.

In other words, Allah said:

I shall turn away believing in My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully without any right

it is also said that this means: I will show you, O Muhammad, the abode of evil-doers

it is also said that it refers to who see each token and do not believe, and if they see the way of righteousness the way of Islam and goodness they do not choose it for their way; they would not consider it a way,

And if they see the way of error, the way of disbelief and idolatry they choose it for their way.

Why Allah turns them away? Because they deny His revelations, His Scripture and His Messengers and they are used to disregard them, disbelieving in them.

Verses 7:145-146 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

145) We inscribed for him upon the tablets all kinds of exhortation and clear explanations of all things. so take it forcefully, and order your nation to take what is best of it. i shall show you the home of the wicked.

146) From my signs I will turn away the unrightfully, arrogant in the land, so that even if they witness every sign they would not believe it. If they see the path of righteousness, they shall not take it as a path; but if they see the path of error, they shall take it for their path because they belied our signs and were inattentive towards them.

SHAKIR:

145) And we ordained for him in the tablets admonition of every kind and clear explanation of all things; so take hold of them with firmness and enjoin your people to take hold of what is best thereof;

I will show you the abode of the transgressors

146) I will turn away from my communications those who are unjustly proud in the earth; and if they see every sign they will not believe in it; and if they see the way of rectitude they do not take it for a way, and if they see the way of error. they take it for a way; this is because they rejected our communications and were heedless of them

PICKTHAL:

145) And we wrote for him, upon the tablets, the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things, then (bade him): hold it fast; and command thy people (saying): take the better (course made clear) therein. i shall show thee the abode of evil-livers.

146) I shall turn away from my revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth, and if they see each token believe it not, and if they see the way of righteousness choose it nor for (their) way, and if they see the way of error choose if for (their) way. That is because they deny our revelations and are used to disregard them.

YUSUFALI:

145) And we ordained laws for him in the tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things, (and said): “take and hold these with firmness, and enjoin thy people to hold fast by the best in the precepts: soon shall i show you the homes of the wicked,- (how they lie desolate).”

146) Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right – them will i turn away from my signs: even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. for they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

This is Allah (62) Allah Has Requited Pharaoh and his folk

1) Allah Requited Pharaoh and his folk and Drowned Them

It was their outcome that Allah exacted retribution from Pharaoh and his folk, once and for all, and therefore He drowned them in the sea.

2) When Pharaoh And His Folk Cried: O Moses! Pray For Us Unto Your Lord?

The Quran says: Whenever a torment fell on Pharaoh and his folk such as the flood, locusts, vermin, frogs and blood;  they cried: O Moses! Pray for us unto your Lord, because He has a covenant with you.

3) When Pharaoh And His Folk Promised Moses To Believe In Him?

The Quran states that Pharaoh and his folk said: O Moses! If you remove the chastisement from us, we verily will trust you, we will believe in you and will let the Children of Israel go with you with all their property.

4) Has Pharaoh And His Folk Kept Their Pledge To Moses?

The Quran says: “But when Allah did remove from them the terror,  the punishment for a term which they must reach (i.e. the drowning in the Red Sea), behold! they broke their covenant, they broke their pledge to Moses.”

5) Why Has Allah drowned Pharaoh And His Folk in the Red Sea?

The Quran says: Once and for all, Allah has punished Pharaoh and his folk and drowned them in the Red Sea because they denied His clear signs, revelations and Moses and they were disbelievers.

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-62 so far) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

The verses 7:134-136 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) When Pharaoh and his folk cried: O Moses! Pray for us unto your Lord?

2) When Pharaoh and his folk promised Moses to believe in him?

3) Has Pharaoh and his folk kept their pledge to Moses?

4) Allah exacted retribution from Pharaoh and his folk and drowned them and

5) Why Had Allah drowned Pharaoh and his folk in the sea?

———————————–

The meaning of verse 7:134

And when the terror, the chastisement,  fell on them; whenever a torment fell on them such as the flood, locusts, vermin, frogs and blood

they (Pharaoh and his folk) cried: O Moses! Pray for us unto your Lord, ask your Lord for us, because He has a covenant with you, because of that with which He has commanded you.

If you remove the terror from us, if you remove the punishment from us; we verily will trust you, we will believe in you and will let the Children of Israel go with you with all their property.

In short, they said:

O Moses, pray to your Lord for our sake by the covenant which He has made with you, to remove the chastisement from us if we believe.

Indeed if you remove from us the terror, verily we will believe in you and let the Children of Israel go with you.

The meaning of verse 7:135

But when Allah removed, through the supplication of Moses, the terror from them to a term which they should reach, lo! they were already reneging, breaking their covenant and persisting in their disbelief.

In other words, but when Allah did remove from them the terror,  the punishment for a term which they must reach (i.e. the drowning in the Red Sea), behold! they broke their covenant, they broke their pledge to Moses.

The meaning of verse 7:136

So Allah exacted retribution from Pharaoh and his folk and therefore He drowned them in the sea for, the reason, that they denied Our signs and were heedless of them, not reflecting upon them.

In other words, Allah took retribution from them, once and for all; therefore He drowned them in the sea: because they denied His revelations, His clear signs and were heedless of them; they were disbelievers in them.

Verses 7:134-136 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

134) And when the plague smote them, they said: ‘Moses, pray to your Lord for us invoking the promise he has made with you. if you lift the plague from us, we will believe in you and let the children of israel go with you. ‘

135) But when we had lifted the plague from them for a term which they had to reach, they broke their promise.

136) So we punished them and drowned them in the sea, for they had belied our signs and gave no heed to them.

SHAKIR:

134) And when the plague fell upon them, they said: o Musa! pray for us to your Lord as he has promised with you, if you remove the plague from us, we will certainly believe in you and we will certainly send away with you the children of israel

135) But when we removed the plague from them till a term which they should attain lo! they broke (the promise)

136) Therefore we inflicted retribution on them and drowned them in the sea because they rejected our signs and were heedless of them

PICKTHAL:

134) And when the terror fell on them they cried: o Moses! pray for us unto thy Lord, because he hath a covenant with thee. if thou removest the terror from us we verily will trust thee and will let the children of israel go with thee.

135) But when we did remove from them the terror for a term which they must reach, behold! they broke their covenant.

136) Therefore we took retribution from them; therefore we drowned them in the sea: because they denied our revelations and were heedless of them.

YUSUFALI:

134) Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: “o Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: if thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the children of israel with thee.”

135) But every time we removed the penalty from them according to a fixed term which they had to fulfil,- behold! they broke their word!

136) So we exacted retribution from them: we drowned them in the sea, because they rejected our signs and failed to take warning from them.
