Atheists in Quran (31) Noah pleads with his Atheist son

Aware of the terrible reality, Noah pleads with him for the last time: O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown. His son said: I shall seek refuge in a mountain, which will afford me protection from the waves. In an instant, the gigantic waves swallow everything up, so he was among the drowned by the flood

———————————

The verses 11:40-42 say,

“Embark with us, my child, and do not stay with the unbelievers.”

As a proud arrogant, the Atheist son does not respond to his loving father.

He does not realize the extent of the terrible event that is taking place.

Noah said: O my son! Come ride with us

His son said: I shall take refuge in a mountain that will protect me, from the water’.

Noah said: O my son! Be saved with us

His son said: the mountain that will preserve me, from the flood’.

Noah said: O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown

His son said: the mountain will prevent me from drowning, the mountain will afford me protection from the flood.

Aware of the terrible reality, Noah pleads with him for the last time:

“Today there is no protection for anyone from Allah’s judgment, except those who shall enjoy His mercy.”

In an instant, the scene changes and the gigantic waves swallow everything up:

The Huge waves came between them, so he was among the drowned by the flood

Today as we read this story, it is as if we see these events happening now before our very own eyes.

The ark is sailing amid huge waves, Noah, the worried father makes one plea after another; his conceited young son insolently turns his back, and then suddenly a towering wave settles the issue.

Everything is over as if the dialogue did not take place.

The element of fear and worry in this scene is measured by its:

  1. Depth in the human soul, in the conversation between Noah and his son.
  2. Extent in nature, as the waves rise high to submerge the tops of the mountains.

Both elements are equal.

This is a distinctive feature of how the Quran tells us about the ancient people.

——

Then, the storm subsides, an air of calmness spreads, the matter is settled according to Allah’s will.

The verse here gives the impression of something coming to a complete standstill.

“And the word was spoken: ‘Earth, swallow up your waters. Heaven, cease (your rain).’ Thus, the waters sank into the earth, and Allah’s will was done, and the ark came to rest on Mount Judi. The word was spoken: Away with these evil-doing folk.’”

It was said,

‘O earth, swallow your waters, that have sprung forth from you, and the Earth reabsorbed it and

O heaven, abate!’ withhold the rain, and it did.

The waters subsided, the affair was accomplished, the matter of the destruction of Noah’s people was complete and it settled,

The earth swallows up its water and the heaven stops raining.

Furthermore, the earth’s surface was soon dry, as excess waters penetrated deep underground.

Allah addressed the earth and the heavens as if they were human beings.

Both comply with the commandment.

No wonder they did when they are Allah’s obedient creatures.

“Allah’s will was done and the ark came to rest on Mount Judi.”

That was its final stop. “The word was spoken: ‘Away with these evil-doing folk.’”

  • Those who were supposed to be destroyed were destroyed and
  • Those who were supposed to be saved were saved.

It was said:

‘Away with perish the evildoing, disbelieving, folk!’

The Quran does not say who said this statement, but it generates the impression that the whole affair does not in need to be considered again.

Let the evildoers disappear beyond Allah’s mercy for they deserve to be expelled;

Let them be banished from memory, for they do not deserve to be remembered.

The verses 11:43-44 in different translations:

QARIB:

43- But he replied: ‘i shall seek refuge on a mountain, which will protect me from the water. ‘He (Noah) said: ‘today, there is no defender from the command of Allah, except those to whom he has mercy. ‘And the waves came between them, and he was drowned.

44- And it was said: ‘earth, swallow up your waters. Heaven, cease! ‘The water subsided and the matter was accomplished. And the ark came to rest upon (the mountain of) aljudi, and it was said: ‘be gone, evildoing nation! ‘

SHAKIR:

43- He said: i will betake myself for refuge to a mountain that shall protect me from the water. Nuh said: there is no protector today from Allah’s punishment but he who has mercy; and a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned

44- And it was said: o earth, swallow down your water, and o cloud, clear away; and the water was made to abate and the affair was decided, and the ark rested on the judi, and it was said: away with the unjust people

PICKTHAL:

43- He said: i shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: this day there is none that saveth from the commandment of Allah save him on whom he hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned.

44- And it was said: o earth! swallow thy water and, o sky! be cleared of clouds! and the water was made to subside. And the commandment was fulfilled. And it (the ship) came to rest upon (the mount) al-judi and it was said: a far removal for wrongdoing folk!

YUSUFALI:

43- The son replied: “i will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water.” Noah said: “this day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom he hath mercy! “And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the flood.

44- Then the word went forth: “o earth! Swallow up thy water, and o sky! Withhold (thy rain)!” and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The ark rested on mount Judi, and the word went forth: “away with those who do wrong!”

Atheists in Quran (30) the Atheist Noah’ son in Tsunami

Noah saw his son; he was standing on the side of a mountain aloof from the Ark. The waves were as huge as mountains. Noah cried unto his son, O my son! Come ride with us, be saved with us; do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown. Does the Atheist Son respond to his loving father?

———————————

In the previous article, Allah told Noah:

No more of your people will believe; they are hopeless.

Therefore, it is over and the unbelievers are done.

Verily, they will be drowned by the flood.

Allah commanded Noah: Build the ark

Then what happened?

The meanings of the verses11:40-42:

Allah gave Noah this sign;

‘The fountains of the earth gushed forth

This means when water started to gush forth from the earth and rain poured down in torrents.

When this took place, Allah said to Noah:

“Take into the Ark a pair of every species, as well as your family, except those against whom Our word has passed, and all those who have accepted the faith.”

It is obvious that Allah has revealed to Noah the whole process systematically at the right moment.

Noah first received orders to build the ark.

At the beginning, the verse does not tell us why the ark is built

Then, Noah received the instructions for the following stage

When the sign took place, (Allah told him 🙂

Such that when Our command came, for their destruction

When the appointed time for chastisement happens and you see the sign;

Load therein, in the ship:

  • Of every kind, male and female, that is, of every species of these two, two, a male and a female; Allah gathered for Noah all the beasts of prey and birds and other animals.  Noah was ordered to take into the ark a pair of all such living species as he could take.
  • Your family and your household save the unbeliever
  • Those who believed

However, a few were they who believed with him

It is said that the number of all those aboard the ship was eighty, half of whom were men and the other half were women.

Noah carried out his instructions exactly as they were given to him

Praying to Allah, Noah said to the believers:

  • Embark therein in the ship!
  • In the name of Allah be its course wherever it sails to and
  • In the name of Allah be its mooring wherever it stops.
  • Allah makes it sail wherever He wills and makes it stop wherever He wills.

This statement indicates that Noah put himself and the ark in Allah’s hands and trusted in Him. The ark would float and anchor under Allah’s watchful eyes. For, what could Noah and his people do to steer the ark to safety in such a flood?

[Envisage these huge waves like mountains that would have caused many titanic ships to drown, to understand Allah’s will, which protect the first primitive ship in the history of humankind]

Then Noah said:

Lo! My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful towards the one who believes and repents.

——-

The ship sailed with them amid huge waves; the waves’ height and size were like mountains

Noah’s Atheist Son

We then have the very awesome scene of the flood.

Two elements of fear are at work here: one originates from nature, stormy but silent as it is; and the other is felt in one’s innermost soul. Both converge as the ark moves on amidst waves as high as mountains.

At this terrible, decisive moment, Noah looks in a certain direction and sees one of his sons who has not joined them in the ark.

Noah saw his son; he was standing on the side of a mountain aloof from the ship

Paternal emotion roused up in Noah.

Immediately, Noah cried unto his stray son:

  • O my son! Come ride with us
  • O my son! Be saved with us
  • O my son! Do not be with the unbelievers lest you drown.

Does the Atheist Son respond to his loving father?

———————————

The verses 11:40-42 in different translations:

QARIB:

40- And when our command came and the oven gushed (forth with water), we said (to Noah): ‘take on board (the ark) a pair from every species and your family, except he of whom the word has already been spoken, and those who believe. And none except a few believed with him.

41- He (Noah) said: ’embark. In the name of Allah will be its course and berthing. indeed, my lord is forgiving, the most merciful. ‘

42- And so it (the ark) ran with them amidst the mountainous waves, and Noah cried out to his son, who was standing apart, ’embark with us, my son, do not be with the unbelievers! ‘

SHAKIR:

40- Until when our command came and water came forth from the valley, we said: carry in it two of all things, a pair, and your own family– except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and those who believe. and there believed not with him but a few

41- And he said: embark in it, in the name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring; most surely, my lord is forgiving, merciful

42- And it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and nuh called out to his son, and he was aloof: o my son! Embark with us and be not with the unbelievers

PICKTHAL:

40- (Thus it was) till, when our commandment came to pass and the oven gushed forth water, we said: load therein two of every kind, a pair (the male and female), and thy household, save him against whom the word hath gone forth already, and those who believe. And but a few were they who believed with him.

41- And he said: embark therein! In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring. lo! my lord is forgiving, merciful.

42- And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah cried unto his son – and he was standing aloof – o my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers.

YUSUFALI:

40- At length, behold! there came our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! we said: “embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family – except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the believers.” but only a few believed with him.

41- So he said: “embark ye on the ark, in the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! for my lord is, be sure, oft-forgiving, most merciful!”

42- So the ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, And Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): “o my son! Embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!”

Angels in Islam (32) the Angel of Death and the disobedient

When the Angel of Death arrives to take away your soul, would he give you a chance to repent and act righteously?

————————————–

If you accept five things, and you are able to put them into practice, your disobedience to Allah will hurt you and will not cause you any problem.

A Real Story

A sinful disobedient who did all kinds of sins and did not observe Allah, get tired of his life’ style. The man came to “Ibrahim ibn Adham” seeking his advice.

The man said: O Ibrahim, I am unable to control myself. Please give me something to help me with it”

Ibrahim said: “If you accept five things, and are able to put them into practice, your disobedience will not cause you any problem.”

The man said: Please tell me what they are

Ibrahim said: “The first is that when you want to disobey Allah you do not eat anything He provides.”

The man said: “Then how will I get anything to eat? Everything on the earth is from Him!”

Ibrahim said: “So is it right to eat His provision and disobey Him at the same time?”

The man said: “No, it is not. What is the second thing?”

Ibrahim said: “When you want to disobey Allah, move off His land.”

The man said: “That is even more difficult! Screamed the man. “In that case where will I live?”

Ibrahim said: “Is it right to eat his provision and live on His land and then to disobey Him?”

The man said: “No, it is not. What is the third thing?”

Ibrahim said: “When you want to disobey Him in spite of eating His provision and living on His land, find a place where Allah will not see you and disobey Him there.”

The man said: “What do you mean? Allah knows and sees everything that happens even in the most hidden places!”

Ibrahim said: “So is it right to disobey Him when you eat His provision and live on His land and when you know that He can see everything you do?”

The man said: “certainly, it is not! Tell me the fourth thing.”

Ibrahim said: “That when the Angel of Death arrives to take away your soul, do not forget to say to him, ‘Give me a reprieve so that I can repent and act righteously for Allah.'”

The man said: “But he won’t listen to me!”

Ibrahim said: “Then if you cannot ward off death long enough to give yourself time to repent, and you know that when it comes there will be no reprieve, how can you hope to be saved?”

The man said: “What is the fifth?”

Ibrahim said: “That when the Angels of the Eternal Fire come to you to take you to the Fire, tell them that you will not go with them.”

The man said: “They will take me whether I like it or not!”

Ibrahim said: “So how can you hope to be saved?”

The man said: “Enough, enough, Ibrahim! The man mourned, swept his tears from his eyes, felt very sorry and said: I ask Allah’s forgiveness and I submit to Him!”

The man asked Allah’s forgiveness and he repented; his repentance was sincere and from that time on he was diligent in his worship and avoided acts of disobedience until the day he died.

What lessons Allah teaches His Servants?

Among the sayings the Prophet Muhammad relates from his Lord (May He be glorified) is that

Allah said:

·         “My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.

·        My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide you.

·        My servants, all of you are hungry except for those I have fed, so seek food of Me and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except for those I have clothed, so seek clothing of Me and I shall clothe you.

·        My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness of Me and I shall forgive you.

·        My servants, you will not attain harming Me so as to harm Me, and you will not attain benefiting Me so as to benefit Me.

·        My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything.

·        My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the entire human beings and the jinn, to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not decrease what I have, any more than a needle decreases the sea if put into it.

·        My servants, it is but your deeds that I reckon up for you and then recompense you for, so let him who finds good praise Allah and let him who finds other than that blame no one but himself.'”

This saying was:

1) Said on the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, one of Muhammad’s companions (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

2) Narrated by the authors of At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Muslim

What is the Outcome of those who Deny Muhammad and the Quran?

When Allah Shall Say: so Taste the Doom for what you Used to Earn?

———————————————————–

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know their Creator.

Verses 7:39-41 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) How does Allah requite the guilty and the evildoers?,

2) What is the outcome of those who deny Muhammad and the Quran?

3) The gates of Heaven will not be opened for the Souls of those who…,

4) When Allah Shall Say: so taste the doom for what you used to earn? And

5) How will be the bed and the coverings over the Disbelievers in the Afterlife?

———————————————————–

In the previous article (36) you have seen that:

Allah will say to the disbelievers on the Day of Resurrection: ‘Enter into the Fire among, the number of, nations of jinn and man who passed away before you’. Every time a nation enters, the Fire, it curses its sister-nation, the one that came before it, because of its having gone astray on account of it, until, when they have all followed, caught up with, one another there, the last of them, those who were the followers, shall say to the first of them, those whom they revered and followed: ‘Our Lord, these led us astray; so give them a double chastisement of the Fire.’ He, exalted be He, will say, ‘For each, of you and them, will be a double, chastisement, but you do not know’ what will be for each party.

———————————————————–

The meaning of verse 7:39

And the first of them shall say to the last of them, ‘You have no advantage over us, since you did not disbelieve because of us: you and we are equal in this predicament. God, exalted be He, says to them: So taste the chastisements for what you used to earn’.

In other words, the first (disbelieved) nation shall say to the last of nations: You were no whit better than us such that our torment should be double yours, for you disbelieved as we disbelieved and worshipped others beside Allah as we did. Allah then tells them: so taste the doom for what you used to earn, for what you used to say and do of idolatry in the life of this world.

The meaning of verse 7:40

Lo! those who deny Our revelations, Muhammad and the Quran and scorn believing in them, for them the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, to receive their works or when their spirits are carried up to it after death, for instead they are taken down into jail with torment; in contrast to the believer, for whom the gates are opened, and his spirit is carried up into the seventh heaven, as is stated by Muhammad.

Back to the disbelievers, nor will they enter the Garden, Paradise, until the camel passes through the eye of the needle, which is impossible, and so is their entry [into Paradise]; they will not enter Paradise just as a camel cannot pass through the eye of a needle; it is also said that this means: they will not enter Paradise until a rope goes through a needle’s eye. So, with this requital, We requite those who are sinful, through disbelief; thus does Allah requite the guilty.

The meaning of verse 7:41

Theirs will be a bed of hell, a bed of fire, and over them coverings of hell, of fire. Thus does Allah requite wrong-doers, the evildoers.

———————————————————–

Verses 7:39-41in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

39) Then, the first will say to the last: ‘you were no better than us. ‘ so taste the punishment for what you have earned.

40) The gates of heaven shall not be opened for those who have belied and grew proud against our verses; nor shall they enter paradise until a camel shall pass through the eye of a needle. as such we shall recompense the sinners.

41) Gehenna (hell) shall be their cradle, and layers of fire shall cover them. as such we recompense the harmdoers.

SHAKIR:

39) And the foremost of them will say to the last of them: so you have no preference over us; therefore taste the chastisement for what you earned

40) Surely (as for) those who reject our communications and turn away from them haughtily, the doors of heaven shall not be opened for them, nor shall they enter the garden until the camel pass through the eye of the needle; and thus do we reward the guilty

41) They shall have a bed of hell-fire and from above them coverings (of it); and thus do we reward the unjust

PICKTHAL:

39) And the first of them saith unto the last of them: ye were no whit better than us, so taste the doom for what ye used to earn.

40) Lo! they who deny our revelations and scorn them, for them the gates of heaven will nor be opened not will they enter the garden until the camel goeth through the needle’s eye. thus do we requite the guilty.

41) Theirs will be a bed of hell, and over them coverings (of hell). thus do we requite wrong-doers.

YUSUFALI:

39) Then the first will say to the last: “see then! no advantage have ye over us; so taste ye of the penalty for all that ye did !”

40) To those who reject our signs and treat them with arrogance, no opening will there be of the gates of heaven, nor will they enter the garden, until the camel can pass through the eye of the needle: such is our reward for those in sin.

41) For them there is hell, as a couch (below) and folds and folds of covering above: such is our requital of those who do wrong.

2) What the angels of death will say to the disbelievers when they take away their souls?

3) When a community curses its sister-community on the Day of Resurrection,

4) When the disbelievers say to Allah: Our Lord, give them a double chastisement of the Fire? And

5) What Allah will say to them?

————————————————————–

The meaning of verse 7:37

Who does greater wrong,

who is more insolent and bolder vis-à-vis Allah,

this means that  none does greater evil than he who invents a lie against Allah, by ascribing to Him a partner or a child, or denies Allah’s tokens, Muhammad and the Quran.

For such, their portion, their lot, of the Scripture, of what has been inscribed as theirs in the Preserved Tablet, in the way of provision, term of life and other matters, shall reach them as predetermined and promised in the Book of destiny.

Give them respite, O Muhammad, until when Our messengers, i.e. the angel of death and his helpers, come to gather them, to take away their souls,

The Angels will say to them in reprimand:

‘Where is that which you were calling upon, worshipping, beside Allah so that they can help you?’

They will say:

‘They have gone astray from us’, they are not present before us, they have departed from us, they are too occupied with themselves to pay attention to us and so we cannot see them.

And they will bear witness against themselves, upon death, that they were disbelievers;

They testify against themselves that they were disbelievers in Allah and the messengers in the life of this world and hence they will be the losers in the Afterlife.

The meaning of verse 7:38

Allah, exalted be He, will say, to them, on the Day of Resurrection: ‘Enter into the Fire among, the number of, nations and communities of jinn and mankind who passed away before you’. Every time a community enters, the Fire, it curses its sister-community, the one that came before it, because of its having gone astray on account of it, until, when they have all followed, caught up with, one another there, the last of them, those who were the followers, shall say to the first of them, those whom they revered and followed: ‘Our Lord, these led us astray; so give them a double chastisement of the Fire.’ He, exalted be He, will say, ‘For each, of you and them, will be a double, chastisement, but you do not know’ what will be for each party.

In other words, when they have all, from the first to the last nation been made to follow one another thither and all gather in the Fire, the last of them, the last of nations will say unto the first of them:

Our Lord! These i.e. the leaders led us astray from Your religion and obedience, so give them double torment of the Fire; torment them with double what you inflict on us. Allah will say to them:

For each one there is double torment, but you do not know because of the severity of the torment.

Verses 7:37-38in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

37) Who is more harmful than he who invents a lie about Allah or belies his verses? such shall have their share of the book, and when our messengers come to take them away, they shall say to them: ‘where now are those whom you invoked, other than Allah? ‘ ‘they have forsaken us, ‘ they will answer, and will bear witness against themselves that they were unbelievers.

38) He will say: ‘enter the fire and join the nations of jinn and humans that have gone before you. ‘ as they enter, every nation will curse its sisternation, and when all are gathered in the pit, the last of them will say of the first: ‘these, lord, are those who led us astray. give them a double punishment of the fire. he will answer: ‘for each double, although you do not know it. ‘

SHAKIR:

37) Who is then more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah or rejects his communications? (as for) those, their portion of the book shall reach them, until when our messengers come to them causing them to die, they shall say: where is that which you used to call upon besides Allah? they would say: they are gone away from us; and they shall bear witness against themselves that they were unbelievers

38) He will say: enter into fire among the nations that have passed away before you from among jinn and men; whenever a nation shall enter, it shall curse its sister, until when they have all come up with one another into it; the last of them shall say with regard to the foremost of them: our lord! these led us astray therefore give them a double chastisement of the fire. he will say: every one shall have double but you do not know

PICKTHAL:

37) Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah or denieth our tokens. (for such) their appointed portion of the book (of destiny) reacheth them till, when our messengers come to gather them, they say: where (now) is that to which ye cried beside Allah? they say: they have departed from us. and they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers.

38) He saith: enter into the fire among nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before you. every time a nation entereth, it curseth its sister (nation) till, when they have all been made to follow one another thither, the last of them saith unto the first of them: our lord! these led us astray, so give them double torment of the fire. he saith: for each one there is double (torment), but ye know not.

YUSUFALI:

37) Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects his signs? for such, their portion appointed must reach them from the book (of decrees): until, when our messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say: “where are the things that ye used to invoke besides Allah?” they will reply, “they have left us in the lurch,” and they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected Allah.

38) He will say: “enter ye in the company of the peoples who passed away before you – men and jinns, – into the fire.” every time a new people enters, it curses its sister-people (that went before), until they follow each other, all into the fire. saith the last about the first: “our lord! it is these that misled us: so give them a double penalty in the fire.” he will say: “doubled for all” : but this ye do not understand.

3) Satan and his tribe see you from whence you do not see them,

4) Satan and his tribe have their home in your breasts and

5) Satan loves your nakedness to manifest to your shameful parts

The meaning of verse 7:26

O Children of Adam! We have sent down on you a garment, that is, We have created it for you, to conceal, to cover up, your shameful parts, and feathers, meaning all that one adorns oneself with of garments, and the garment of Allah-fearing, righteous deeds and virtuous traits, ‘the garment of Allah-fearing’ that is best; that is one of Allah’s signs, the proofs of His power; perhaps they will remember, and believe (the address shifts to mankind).

In other words, Allah gives advice mankind and says:

(O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you) We have created and given you (raiment) clothes of cotton, wool and fur (to conceal your shame) your nakedness, (and splendid vesture) properties and stuff, that is the furniture of the house, (but the raiment of restraint from evil) the raiment of profession of Allah’s divine Oneness and of abstinence, (that is best) better than the raiment of cotton. (This) the raiment of cotton (is of the revelations of Allah) of the marvels of Allah, (that they may remember) take admonition.

Then, Allah takes you back to remember what happened to your father and mother, Adam and Eve; He says:

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you, lead you astray, that is, do not follow him, lest you fall into temptation, as he caused your parents to go forth from the Garden, by tempting them, stripping them of their garments to manifest to them their shameful parts. Surely he, Satan, sees you, he and his tribe, his army, from where you do not see them, because of their ethereal bodies or their being colorless and invisible. We have made the devils friends, helpers and companions, of those who do not believe.

This verse shows that Satan loves the nakedness of mankind to manifest to your shameful parts; this is an easy way to sin and to commit adultery.

In other words, Allah gives advice mankind and says:

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan, Iblis, (seduce you) make you slip with regard to obeying Me (as he caused your (first) parents) Adam and Eve (to go forth from the Garden and tore off) took away (from them their robe) the robe of light (that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he) Iblis (sees you, he and his tribe) his soldiers, (from whence ye see him not) because your breasts are their dwellings. (Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends) helpers (for those who believe not) in Muhammad and in the Quran.

Verses 7:26-27in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

26) Children of Adam! we have sent down to you clothing that covers your nakedness, and feathers. but the clothing of piety that is better. that is one of the signs of Allah, in order that they remember.

27) Children of Adam! do not let Satan tempt you, as he brought your parents out of paradise. he stripped them of their garments to show them their shameful parts. indeed he and his descendants see you from where you cannot see them. we have made the satans supporters of those who do not believe.

SHAKIR:

26) O children of Adam! we have indeed sent down to you clothing to cover your shame, and (clothing) for beauty and clothing that guards (against evil), that is the best. this is of the communications of Allah that they may be mindful

27) O children of Adam! let not the shaitan cause you to fall into affliction as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them both their clothing that he might show them their evil inclinations, he surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you cannot see them; surely we have made the shaitans to be the guardians of those who do not believe

PICKTHAL:

26) O children of Adam! we have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment of restraint from evil, that is best. this is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember.

27) O children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. lo! we have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not.

YUSUFALI:

26) O ye children of Adam! we have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. but the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. such are among the signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!

27) O ye children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: we made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.

This is Allah (26) What is Allah’s Promise to Satan and His Fellows?

The Excuse of Satan is that for every Liar and Hypocrite

How old is Satan Right now although He is working very actively?

Satan can come to you from everywhere except from above

When Allah degraded, banished, and removed Satan from His Mercy?

————————————————-

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:14-18 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) What is Allah’s Promise to Satan and His Fellows?

2) The Excuse of Satan is that for every Liar and Hypocrite,

3) How old is Satan Right now although He is working very actively?

4) Satan can come to you from everywhere except from above and

5) When Allah degraded, banished, and removed Satan from His Mercy?

————————————————-

In the previous article, Satan refused to Prostrate before Adam for salutation and he was the First Historically disobeyed Allah; then Allah said to him: ‘Go down from the heavens; it is not, right, for you to show pride here and disobey’;

In verses 7:14-18 you will see what Satan said to Allah

The meaning of verse 7:14

He said: Reprieve me, give me respite, till the day when they are raised from the graves-accursed not wanting to die. In other words, he said: postpone my affair, until the Day of Judgment.  So, you can imagine how old is Satan right now although he is working very actively?

The meaning of verse 7:15

Allah Said, ‘Lo! You are of those reprieved, you are given respite’; in another verse (38:81), it is said, until the day of an appointed time, that is, until the time of the first blast of the Trumpet, an event that will happen very close to Day of Judgment.  Now, the wicked Satan realized that he will live until the Day of Judgment and he knows that Allah is keeping his words, then what he said?

The meaning of verse 7:16

He, Iblis, said: ‘Now, because You have sent me astray just as You made me err from guidance, verily I shall lurk in ambush for them) for the children of Adam (on Thy Right Path) the religion of Islam. In other words, he said: verily I shall sit in ambush for them, that is, for the Children of Adam, on Your straight path, that is, on the path that leads to You.  It is interesting to know that he did not Prostrate before Adam for salutation and disobeyed Allah because of his pride and his assumption that he is better than Adam; then after all of his sins, he said that Allah made him err!  This is the almost always excuse of the liars and hypocrites.  Then Satan continued:

The meaning of verse 7:17

He said: Then I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, that is to say, from every side, and prevent them from following it (that path, Allah’s Path i.e. from following Allah’s Religion that is Islam). And You will not find most of them thankful’, believing.

Ibn Abbās, one of the famous interpreter of the Quran  said: ‘However, he cannot come upon them from above, lest he come between the servant and the mercy of Allah, exalted be He’.

In other words, Satan said: Then I shall come upon them from before them, with regard to the Hereafter that there is no hell, Paradise, resurrection or reckoning, and from behind them, that the life of this world is everlasting and I shall bid them to amass and withhold out of stinginess and I will order them to commit corruption, and from their right hands, vis-à-vis the religion: I shall confuse those who are guided until they leave the guidance, and I shall make it seem fair to those who are misguided such that they remain misguided, and from their left hands, as regard pleasures and delights, and Thou wilt not find most of them, all of them beholden, unto Thee, believers in You.

After Satan has done, what Allah said to him?

The meaning of verse 7:18

Allah Said: ‘Go forth from it, degraded, disgraced or despised, and banished, removed from mercy. As for those of them, of people, who follow you I shall assuredly fill Hell with all of you’, that is, with you, through your seed, and with people, in other words, ‘whoever follows you, then I shall punish him’).

In short, Allah said: Go forth from hence, degraded, rebuked, banished far from good; As for such of them, from the jinn and humans as follow you and obey you, surely I will fill hell with all of you of the disbelievers among the jinn and humans.

Verses 7:14-18in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

14) He replied: ‘respite me till the day of resurrection. ‘

15) Said he (Allah): ‘you are among the respited, ‘

16) He answered: ‘because you have caused me to go astray, i will waylay them as they walk on your straight path,

17) And come upon them from the front and from the rear, from their right and from their left. then, you shall find most of them ungrateful. ‘

18) ‘begonia! ‘ said he, ‘despised and outcast. (as for) those of them that follow you, i shall fill gehenna (hell) with all of you. ‘

SHAKIR:

14) He said: respite me until the day when they are raised up

15) Said he (Allah): ‘you are among the respited, ‘

16) He said: as thou hast caused me to remain disappointed i will certainly lie in wait for them in thy straight path

17) Then i will certainly come to them from before them and from behind them, and from their right-hand side and from their left-hand side; and thou shalt not find most of them thankful

18) He said: get out of this (state), despised, driven away; whoever of them will follow you, i will certainly fill hell with you all

PICKTHAL:

14) He said: reprieve me till the day when they are raised (from the dead).

15) He said: lo! thou art of those reprieved.

16) He said: now, because thou hast sent me astray, verily i shall lurk in ambush for them on thy right path.

17) Then i shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right hands and from their left hands, and thou wilt not find most of them beholden (unto thee).

18) He said: go forth from hence, degraded, banished. as for such of them as follow thee, surely i will fill hell with all of you.

YUSUFALI:

14) He said: “give me respite till the day they are raised up.”

15) (Allah) said: “be thou among those who have respite.”

16) He said: “because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! i will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:

17) “Then will i assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies).”

18) (Allah) said: “get out from this, disgraced and expelled. if any of them follow thee,- hell will i fill with you all.

This is Allah (25) Allah has given you power you give little thanks

Allah told the Angels to Prostrate before Adam for salutation

Who was the First Historically disobeyed Allah; Satan or Adam?

Is Satan better than Adam?

The Pride of Satan was the first Sin in the History

—————————————————————-

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:10-13 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah has given you power in the earth and you give little thanks,

2)Allah told the Angels to Prostrate before Adam for greeting,

3)Iblis (Satan) was the First Historically disobeyed Allah, and

4) When Satan said that he is better than Adam? And

5) The Pride of Satan was the first Sin in the History

—————————————————————-

The meaning of verse 7:10

And Allah has given you O mankind power in the earth, and appointed for you therein in the earth a livelihood that from which you eat, drink and clothe yourselves. Little give you thanks! you do not give thanks for what is great nor for the small; it is also said that this means: you give little thanks for all that is done for you.

In other words, Allah has given you power, O Children of Adam, in the earth, and have appointed for you therein livelihoods, that is, the means by which you are able to subsist; however, little thanks you show, for this.

The meaning of verse 7:11

And Allah created you from Adam and Adam is from dust, then fashioned you in wombs, and when Allah fashioned Adam between He told the angels: Fall ye prostrate before Adam; a prostration of greeting!

And they fell prostrate, all save Iblis.

Iblis was not of those who make prostration to Adam.

In other words, Allah created your father Adam, then said to the angels: ‘Prostrate yourselves before Adam!’, a prostration that is a bow of salutation. So they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, the father of the jinn, who was among the angels, he refused to make prostration.

This verse shows that Iblis, Satan, was the first creature which disobeyed Allah.

Iblis was not an Angel, he is the father of jinn.

Jinn are invisible creatures which live like us, they eat and marry etc.  Jinn like mankind are commanded to worship Allah and to obey His Law.

The meaning of verse 7:12

Allah, exalted be He, said, ‘What prevented you from falling prostrate  when I commanded you, when I bade you to prostrate? Iblis(Satan) said, ‘I am better than him. You created me from fire, while him You created from clay; I am made of fire while he is made of mud, and fire devours mud.

The meaning of verse 7:13

Allah said to him: Then go down hence! go down from heaven; it is also said this means: come out of angelic form. It is not for thee, you ought not to show pride here, demonstrate pride, in the form of an angel, to the Children of Adam, so go forth! leave your angelic form; it is also said that this means: go forth from the earth;

Lo! you are art of those degraded, you are of those who are humiliated in that you are punished.

In other words, Allah said to Satan: ‘Then go down from it, that is, from the Garden  it is also said, go down from the heavens; it is not, right, for you to show pride here, so go forth, out of it! Surely you are among the abased!’, the contemptible!

Verses 7:10-13in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

10) We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks.

11) We created you then we shaped you, then we said to the angels: ‘prostrate yourselves before Adam. ‘ they all prostrated themselves except Iblis he was not among the prostrated.

12) He (Allah) asked: ‘what prevented you to prostrate, when i commanded you? ‘ ‘i am better than he, ‘ he replied. ‘you created me of fire and you created him of clay. ‘

13) He (Allah) said: ‘descend from it! this is no place for you to be proud. begone, you are of the humiliated. ‘

SHAKIR:

10) And certainly we have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks

11) And certainly we created you, then we fashioned you, then we said to the angels: prostrate to Adam. so they did prostrate except Iblis; he was not of those who prostrated

12) He said: what hindered you so that you did not prostrate when i commanded you? he said: i am better than he: thou hast created me of fire, while him thou didst create of dust

13) He said: then get forth from this (state), for it does not befit you to behave proudly therein. go forth, therefore, surely you are of the abject ones

PICKTHAL:

10) And we have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. little give ye thanks!

11) And we created you, then fashioned you, then told the angels: fall ye prostrate before Adam! and they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, who was not of those who make prostration.

12) He said: what hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when i bade thee? (Iblis) said: i am better than him. thou createdst me of fire while him thou didst create of mud.

13) He said: then go down hence! it is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! lo! thou art of those degraded.

YUSUFALI:

10) It is we who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfillment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give!

11) It is we who created you and gave you shape; then we bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrate; not so Iblis; he refused to be of those who prostrate.

12) (Allah) said: “what prevented thee from prostrating when i commanded thee?” he said: “i am better than he: thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay.”

13) (Allah) said: “get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures).”

Allah does not love (8) the Unjust

The Blessings God bestows upon the Disbelievers are …!

The days of the life of this world are vicissitudes, the Quran and the History said

———————————————————————-

We have seen that Allah does not love those:

1) the disbelievers,

2) the arrogant,

3) those who reject faith,

4) the proud and the boastful,

5) any swaggering braggart, strutting in his steps,

6) the harm doers and

7) any vainglorious prideful boasters.

In this article, that Allah does not love the Unjust;  those that do wrong.

Moreover, the Quran declares the fact that the days of the life of this world are vicissitudes among men, folks and nations

———————————————————————-

The meanings of verse 3:140 of the Noble Quran:

Background:

The Day of Badr is the first battle between the believers (300 men) and the disbelievers (1000 men); the believers won that battle in great astonishing success.

The Day of Uhud is the second battle between the believers (550 men) and the disbelievers (1200 men), at first the believers won then the disbelievers won at the end.

Verse 3:140 says that:

If a wound touches you, befalls you at Uhud,

If ye have received a blow, if you were harmed on the Day of Uhud

The people of Mecca, the disbelievers, have received on the Day of Badr harm like the harm you received on the Day of Uhud.

i.e., a like wound, already, at Badr, has touched the other people, the disbelievers.

These are only the vicissitudes, the days of the life of this world, which Allah cause to follow one another for mankind, sometimes the believers have the upper hand over the unbelievers and sometimes it is the unbelievers who have the upper hand over the believers,

Such days Allah deal out in turn, Allah dispense them, among mankind, one day for one group, the next day for another, that they might be admonished,

And that God may know, through knowledge manifested outwardly, those who believe, who are sincere in their faith from others;

And that He may take witnesses from among you, honoring them with martyrdom, and God loves not the evildoers, the disbelievers,

That is, He will chastise them severely at the day of Judgment,

And the blessings He bestows upon the disbelievers are only a means of drawing out their punishment.

The days of the life of this world are vicissitudes:

This is a fact that said in the Noble Quran more than 1400 years ago.  Anyone who studies the history of men, folks and nations appreciates and acknowledges such fact.

———————————————————————-

Verse 3:140 in different translations

QARIB:

If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days we alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that he will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harm doers,

SHAKIR:

If a wound has afflicted you (at Uhud), a wound like it has also afflicted the (unbelieving) people; and we bring these days to men by turns, and that Allah may know those who believe and take witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust.

PICKTHAL:

If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. these are (only) the vicissitudes which we cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

YUSUFALI:

If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) we give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that he may take to himself from your ranks martyr-witnesses (to truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.
