Angels in Islam (32) the Angel of Death and the disobedient

When the Angel of Death arrives to take away your soul, would he give you a chance to repent and act righteously?

————————————–

If you accept five things, and you are able to put them into practice, your disobedience to Allah will hurt you and will not cause you any problem.

A Real Story

A sinful disobedient who did all kinds of sins and did not observe Allah, get tired of his life’ style. The man came to “Ibrahim ibn Adham” seeking his advice.

The man said: O Ibrahim, I am unable to control myself. Please give me something to help me with it”

Ibrahim said: “If you accept five things, and are able to put them into practice, your disobedience will not cause you any problem.”

The man said: Please tell me what they are

Ibrahim said: “The first is that when you want to disobey Allah you do not eat anything He provides.”

The man said: “Then how will I get anything to eat? Everything on the earth is from Him!”

Ibrahim said: “So is it right to eat His provision and disobey Him at the same time?”

The man said: “No, it is not. What is the second thing?”

Ibrahim said: “When you want to disobey Allah, move off His land.”

The man said: “That is even more difficult! Screamed the man. “In that case where will I live?”

Ibrahim said: “Is it right to eat his provision and live on His land and then to disobey Him?”

The man said: “No, it is not. What is the third thing?”

Ibrahim said: “When you want to disobey Him in spite of eating His provision and living on His land, find a place where Allah will not see you and disobey Him there.”

The man said: “What do you mean? Allah knows and sees everything that happens even in the most hidden places!”

Ibrahim said: “So is it right to disobey Him when you eat His provision and live on His land and when you know that He can see everything you do?”

The man said: “certainly, it is not! Tell me the fourth thing.”

Ibrahim said: “That when the Angel of Death arrives to take away your soul, do not forget to say to him, ‘Give me a reprieve so that I can repent and act righteously for Allah.'”

The man said: “But he won’t listen to me!”

Ibrahim said: “Then if you cannot ward off death long enough to give yourself time to repent, and you know that when it comes there will be no reprieve, how can you hope to be saved?”

The man said: “What is the fifth?”

Ibrahim said: “That when the Angels of the Eternal Fire come to you to take you to the Fire, tell them that you will not go with them.”

The man said: “They will take me whether I like it or not!”

Ibrahim said: “So how can you hope to be saved?”

The man said: “Enough, enough, Ibrahim! The man mourned, swept his tears from his eyes, felt very sorry and said: I ask Allah’s forgiveness and I submit to Him!”

The man asked Allah’s forgiveness and he repented; his repentance was sincere and from that time on he was diligent in his worship and avoided acts of disobedience until the day he died.

Angels in Islam (31) thunder is God’s voice or Angel’s voice?

In the Bible: the thunder is the voice of Jehovah, the Lord God.

In the Quran, the thunder is an Angel who is Glorifying Allah.

———————————–

In the Bible: the thunder is the voice of Jehovah, the Lord God.

This ultimate fact is found in many Biblical verses like for example 1 Samuel 2:10, 7:10, 2 Samuel 22:14, Job 37:4-5 and Psalm 18:13

Such verses say:

Jehovah, the Lord God:

  • Thundered with a great thunder
  • Thundered from heaven
  • Shall thunder upon them
  • Thundered with the voice of His Excellency

The thunder is but the voice of Jehovah, the Lord God:

  • His voice is heard
  • The Most High uttered His voice
  • God thundered marvelously with His voice
  • Lord thundered in the heavens, and the Highest uttered His voice
  • Jehovah thundered in the heavens, the Most High uttered his voice

———————————–

In the Quran, The thunder is an Angel, his voice is to Glorify Allah.

The meanings of the verse 13:13:

The thunder proclaims his praise to his Almighty Creator.

The thunder says: all Glory and praise be to Allah.

And this thunder saying is the voice of the thunder that we hear.

Not only the thunder proclaims His praise to his Almighty Creator, but also, the Angels do proclaim their praises, in awe of Allah.

It is interesting that the Angels who never ever sin proclaim their praise, all the time, in awe of Allah, although man who is sinful does not!

Also, the unbelievers among mankind dispute and argue about Allah, though He is great in might, in power, or in the severity of His retribution.

The unbelievers among mankind argue about the Religion of Allah; however, Allah is mighty in wrath, His chastisement is severe. Exalted is He!

According to Islamic teachings, it should be emphasized that anyone believes that the thunder is the voice of the Almighty Creator will dwell in the Eternal Fire forever!

———————————–

In the Quran, The thunder is an Angel, his voice is to Glorify Allah.

The verse 13:13 in different translations:

QARIB:

The thunder exalts his praise, and so are the Angels are in awe of him. He looses the thunderbolts and smites whosoever he will. Yet they dispute about Allah who is mighty in power.

SHAKIR:

And the thunder declares his glory with his praise, and the Angels too for awe of him; and he sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom he pleases, yet they dispute concerning Allah, and he is mighty in prowess

PICKTHAL:

The thunder hymneth his praise and (so do) the Angels for awe of him. he launcheth the thunderbolts and smiteth with them whom he will while they dispute (in doubt) concerning Allah, and he is mighty in wrath.

YUSUFALI:

Nay, thunder repeateth his praises, and so do the Angels, with awe: he flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith he striketh whomsoever he will. Yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of his power (supreme)!

Angels in Islam (24) every man will see them-C

Either you believe in Allah or you do not, you will undoubtedly see the Angels face to face at the moment of your death. But the important question is how the Angels deal with the believers and the unbelievers and what the Angels will say to each party.

———————————————

The meanings of the verse 8:50-51

And if you could see, O Muhammad, how the Angels deal with the unbelievers at the moment of their death, you would truly have seen a terrible sight’

And if you could see, O Muhammad, when the Angels take away the disbelievers’ souls, beating and smiting their faces and their backs, with hooked iron rods, and,

They say to them: ‘Taste the chastisement of burning, Taste the severe punishment of the Eternal Fire.

That, chastisement, is for what you have done in the life of this world; you have disobeyed Allah’s Law.

And, be aware that Allah is neither unjust nor oppressor to His servants, such that he would never punish them unless they are sinful.

On the other hand, compare the above with how the Angels deal with the believers at the moment of their death (41:30-32)

The meanings of the verse 41:30-32

Truly those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah!’ and then remain upright, adhering to the affirmation of Allah’s divine Oneness and to whatever else has been enjoined on them, how the Angels deal with them at the moment of their death?

The Angels descend upon them when their souls are taken away saying to them:

  • Do not fear death and what will come after it?
  • Do not grieve about what you have left behind (any family or children that you have left behind) for we will look after them after you, and
  • Rejoice in the good tidings of the paradise which you were promised in the life of the world..
  • We are your protecting friends in the life of this world, that is, we will look after you in it, and in the Hereafter, in other words, we will be alongside you thereat until you enter Paradise; and therein you will have whatever your souls desire, and therein you will have whatever you request,
  • This is a gift of welcome and hospitality from Allah, the Forgiving (He forgives those who repent) and the Merciful (towards those who die repentant).

To sum up, every man will see the Angels when he dies.

But how they look like? Are they beautiful or ugly?

The verse 8:50-51 in different translations:

QARIB:

50-If you could see the Angels when they carry off the souls of the unbelievers, beating their faces and their backs, saying: ‘taste the punishment of burning!

51-That is for what your hands have forwarded, Allah is not unjust to his worshipers. ‘

SHAKIR:

50-And had you seen when the Angels will cause to die those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs, and (saying): taste the punishment of burning

51-This is for what your own hands have sent on before, and because Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants;

51-This is for that which your own hands have sent before (to the judgment), and (know) that Allah is not a tyrant to his slaves.

PICKTHAL:

50-If thou couldst see how the Angels receive those who disbelieve, smiting faces and their backs and (saying): taste the punishment of burning!

YUSUFALI:

50-If thou couldst see, when the Angels take the souls of the unbelievers (at death), (how) they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): “taste the penalty of the blazing fire-

51-“Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth; for Allah is never unjust to his servants:

———————————————

The verse 41:30-32 in different translations:

QARIB:

30-The Angels will descend on those who said: ‘Allah is our lord, ‘ and have then gone straight, (saying 🙂 ‘Be neither fearful, nor sad; rejoice in the paradise you have been promised.

31-We are your guides in this world and in the everlasting life. there, you shall have all that your souls desire, and all that you ask for

32-As hospitality from one, the forgiving, the most merciful. ‘

SHAKIR:

30-As for) those who say: our lord is Allah, then continue in the right way, the Angels descend upon them, saying: fear not, nor be grieved, and receive good news of the garden which you were promised

31-We are your guardians in this world’s life and in the hereafter, and you shall have therein what your souls desire and you shall have therein what you ask for:

32-A provision from the forgiving, the merciful

PICKTHAL:

30-Lo! Those who say: our lord is Allah, and afterward are upright, the Angels descend upon them, saying: fear not nor grieve, but hear good tidings of the paradise which ye are promised.

31-We are your protecting friends in the life of the world and in the hereafter. there ye will have (all) that your souls desire, and there ye will have (all) for which ye pray.

32-A gift of welcome from one forgiving, merciful.

YUSUFALI:

30-In the case of those who say, “Our lord is Allah”, and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the Angels descend on them (from time to time): “fear ye not!” (They suggest), “nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of the garden (of bliss), the which ye were promised!

31-“We are your protectors in this life and in the hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-

32-“A hospitable gift from one oft-forgiving, most merciful!”

How a preacher or priest in Christianity can ever go to Islam?

How could a preacher have turned his back on the perfect plan of salvation of Jesus Christ on the cross for you sins and converted to Islam?

The American ex–preacher Yusuf Estes continues saying:

Sign Inside of Me

And then after a while I raised up my head and I noticed something. No, I didn’t see birds or angels coming out of the sky nor did I hear voices or music, nor did I see bright lights and flashes. What I did notice was a change inside of me. I was aware now more than ever before that it was time for me to stop any lying and doing anything sneaky. It was time that I really work at being an honest and upright man. I knew now what I had to do.

Wash Away the “OLD”

So I went upstairs and took a shower with the distinct idea that I was ‘washing’ away the sinful old person that I had become over the years. And I was now coming into a new, fresh life. A life based on truth and proof.

And Become New!

Around 11:00 A.M. that morning, I stood before two witnesses, one the ex-priest, formerly known as Father Peter Jacob’s, and the other Mohamed Abel Rehman and announced my ‘shahadah’ (open testimony to the Oneness of God and the prophethood of Muhammad, peace be upon him).

“I bear witness, there is no deity to worship, except Almighty Allah, alone and He has no partners and I bear witness that Mohammad is His messenger and servant.”

My Wife Was Next

A few minutes later, my wife follow along and gave the same testimony. But hers was in front of 3 witnesses (me being the third).

Then My Father

My father was a bit more reserved on the subject and waited a few more months before he made his shahadah (public testimony). But he did finally commit to Islam and began offering prayers right along with me and the other Muslims in the local masjid (mosque).

Children Too!

The children were taken out of the Christian school and placed in Muslim schools. And now ten years later, they are memorizing much of the Quran and the teachings of Islam.

Father’s Wife (Stepmother) Next

My father’s wife finally acknowledged, before she died, that Jesus could not be a son of God and that he must have been a mighty prophet of God, but not God. She passed away within a few months of this statement at age 86. May Allah accept her statement of faith, amen (Pronounced Ameen in Arabic).

Houseful of New Muslims – What’s Next?

Now stop and think. A whole entire household of people from varying backgrounds and ethnic groups coming together in truth to learn how to know and worship the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Think. A Catholic priest; a minister of music and preacher of the Gospel; an ordained minister and builder of Christian schools; and the children, even a great-grandmother – they all come into Islam!

His Mercy and Guidance

Only by His Mercy were we all guided to see the real truth of Islam, by removing the coverings over our ears and the blinders on our eyes, no longer having seals over our hearts – He was Guiding us now.

Amazing Story – Family and Friends Entering Islam – From One Man

If I were to stop right here, I’m sure that you would have to admit that at least, this is an amazing story, right? After all, three religious leaders of three separate denominations all going into one very opposite belief at the same time and then soon after the rest of the household.

More? – Yes! Baptist Seminary Student Reads Quran – Accepts Islam

But that is not all. There is more! The same year, while I was in Grand Prairie, Texas (near Dallas) I met a Baptist seminary student from Tennessee named Joe, who also came to Islam after reading the Holy Quran while in BAPTIST SEMINARY COLLEGE!

More? Yes. Catholic Priest Loves Islam – But Needs His Job!

There are others as well. I recall the case of the Catholic priest in a college town who talked about the good things in Islam so much that I was forced to ask him why he didn’t enter Islam. He replied: “What? And loose my job?” – His name is Father John and we still pray for Allah to Guide Him.

This is Allah (28) How Did Allah forgive both Adam and Eve?

What Adam and Eve said when they realized that they disobeyed Allah?

The Forgiveness has to be a direct process between you and your Creator without any in the middle of

Allah is the Relenting, the Merciful, the One Who overlooks misdeeds

The Golden words of Adam that became a way for him and his progeny to repentance

—————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know their Creator.

Verses 7:23-25 of the Noble Quran talk about:
1) Did Allah forgive Adam and Eve?
2) What Adam and Eve said when they realized that they disobeyed Allah?
3) The Golden words of Adam that became a way for him and his progeny to repentance,
4) Allah is the Relenting, the Merciful, the One Who overlooks misdeeds and
5) The Golden words of Adam that became a way for him and his progeny to repentance.

—————————————————

In the previous article, Satan did lead both Adam and Eve on, to eat from the tree with lies until they ate from it. Then their nakedness was manifest to them and they began out of shame to hide by heaping on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And Allah called them: O Adam and Eve, saying: Did I not forbid you from that tree? Verily Satan is a manifest enemy to you?  Then what Adam and Eve said when they realized that they disobeyed Allah?

The meaning of verse 7:23

They said, ‘Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, by our act of disobedience, we have harmed ourselves by transgressing, and if You do not forgive us, if You do not overlook our transgression and have not mercy on us by not punishing us, surely we are of the lost!  We shall be of those duped into receiving punishment.

Allah, the Merciful forgave them and said:

The meaning of verse 7:24

He said: Go down from hence, that is, Adam and Eve, with all those you comprise of your seed, each of you, each seed, an enemy to the other, on account of the wrong each does to the another. There will be for you on earth an abode, a place of settlement, and enjoyment for a while’, until your terms of life are fulfilled. In other words, There will be for you on earth a habitation, a dwelling and shelter and provision for a while until death.

The meaning of verse 7:25

Allah said: ‘There, that is, on earth, you shall live, and there you shall die, and from there you shall be brought forth’, through the Resurrection on the Day of Judgment.

How Did Allah forgive both Adam and Eve?

This was the first sin of mankind.

Adam did not know what to do? He did not know how to ask Allah for forgiveness.

Of course, Allah, the Merciful, knew that.

Adam received certain words from Allah, with which He inspired him.

That words came to Adam, and these were: we have wronged ourselves with which Adam and Eve supplicated, and Allah relented to them, that is, Allah accepted their repentance; He forgave them; truly Allah is the Relenting, to His servants, the Merciful, to them. He is the One Who overlooks misdeeds.

That words of Adam became a way for him and his progeny to repentance.

This story tells us how to ask our Creator for forgiveness.

The process of forgiveness should go directly between you and your Creator without any “in-between”. Allah is the Forgiver, the Relenting, and the Merciful, and you are the sinful.

—————————————————

Verses 7:23-25in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

23) Both replied: ‘lord, we have harmed ourselves. if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the lost. ‘

24) He said: ‘descend, each of you an enemy to each other. the earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time.

25) He said: ‘there you shall live and there you shall die, and from there you shall emerge. ‘

SHAKIR:

23) They said: our lord! we have been unjust to ourselves, and if thou forgive us not, and have (not) mercy on us, we shall certainly be of the losers

24) He said: get forth, some of you, the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time

25) He (also) said: therein shall you live, and therein shall you die, and from it shall you be raised

PICKTHAL:

23) They said: our lord! we have wronged ourselves. if thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost!

24) He said: go down (from hence), one of you a foe unto the other. there will be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a while.

25) He said: there shall ye live, and there shall ye die, and thence shall ye be brought forth.

YUSUFALI:

23) They said: “our lord! we have wronged our own souls: if thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us thy mercy, we shall certainly be lost.”

24) (Allah) said: “get ye down. with enmity between yourselves. on earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood,- for a time.”

25) He said: “therein shall ye live, and therein shall ye die; but from it shall ye be taken out (at last).”

And the verse 2:37 shows how did Allah forgive both Adam and Eve?

QARIB:

then Adam received words from his lord, and his lord relented towards him. he is the receiver of repentance, the merciful.

SHAKIR:

then Adam received (some) words from his lord, so he turned to him mercifully; surely he is oft-returning (to mercy), the merciful

PICKTHAL:

then Adam received from his lord words (of revelation), and he relented toward him. lo! he is the relenting, the merciful.

YUSUFALI:

then learnt Adam from his lord words of inspiration, and his lord turned towards him; for he is oft-returning, most merciful.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (95) Crime against Humanity

The jinn commanded the idolaters to kill their children and to bury their daughters alive claiming that this is Allah’s command and this is the religion of Abraham and Ishmael. This crime against humanity was a custom that happened many times throughout the history.

——————————————-

It is worth mentioning that Allah has created two responsible creatures; they are jinn and man.

Allah has sent messengers to both the jinn and the mankind with the message that is to worship the only one true God whose name is Allah.

The response of man to Allah’s message is well known and there are believers and unbelievers among mankind and so is the response of jinn to Allah’s message.

It follows that we have believers and unbelievers among the jinn.

The unbelievers among the jinn are the devils and their big boss is Satan himself; their fate is the Eternal fire in the Afterlife.

It is expected the unbelievers among the jinn would have many varieties of cooperation with the unbelievers among mankind by inspiring wicked men with invented sinful ideas in order to keep them on the wrong path that ultimately leads to Eternal fire in the Afterlife.

The unbelievers among mankind enjoyed such cooperation and they used to seek help of the devils jinn in many fields like magic, controlling other people, doing some trivial tricky things to other people etc.

In the article: Chapter 6 of the Quran (89) Fate of Men seeking Devils’ Help, the Quran forbids such cooperation and warned both of evil jinn and men with the Eternal fire in the Afterlife.

Ayah 6:137 mentions a crime against humanity due to the cooperation between the evil jinn and men.

The jinn have adorned for many of the idolaters the slaying of their children, by burying them alive.

The jinn have commanded the idolaters among the Arabs to kill their children and their daughters claiming that this is Allah’s command and this is the religion of Abraham and Ishmael.

As a matter of fact, they were worshipping their boss, the Satan.

Unfotuanately, this crime against humanity was a custom that happened many times throughout the history.

It should be emphasized that Allah forbids this crime (the verses 81:8-9)

Ayah 6:137 continues saying:

Had Allah willed, they would not have done so;

So leave them and that which they fabricate of their religion.

So leave them alone with their devils

So leave them alone with their lies when they claim that Allah commands them to bury their daughters alive.

—————————————————————-

The verse 6:137 in different translations

QARIB:

As such their associates made it attractive to the idolaters to kill their children so that they ruin them and confuse them about their religion.

But had Allah willed, they would not have done so. Therefore, leave them to their false inventions.

SHAKIR:

And thus their associates have made fair seeming to most of the polytheists the killing of their children, that they may cause them to perish and obscure for them their religion; and if Allah had pleased, they would not have done it, therefore leave them and that which they forge

PICKTHAL:

Thus have their (so-called) partners (of Allah) made the killing of their children to seem fair unto many of the idolaters, that they may ruin them and make their faith obscure for them. Had Allah willed (it otherwise), they had not done so. So leave them alone with their devices.

YUSUFALI:

Even so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their “partners” made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. if Allah had willed, they would not have done so: but leave alone them and their inventions.

This is Allah (14) O mankind, you need Allah and Allah needs nothing

1)    It is very easy for Allah to bring about a new creation instead of us

2)    Allah’s Law: no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul

3)    To Allah is the return in the Hereafter when He will requite according to deeds

4)    Who will benefit from Allah’s warning?

———————————————————————–

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 35:15-18 of the Noble Quran gives five facts and they are: 1) O mankind, you need Allah and Allah does not need you, 2) It is easy for Allah to bring about a new creation instead of you, 3) Allah’s Law: no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul, 4) Who will benefit from Allah’s warning? And 5) To Allah is the return in the Hereafter.

———————————————————————–

The meaning of verse 35:15:

O mankind! You are the ones who are in need of Allah, in every state. And Allah, He is the Independent, without any need of His creatures, the Praised, the One Who is praised in whatever He does with them.

In other words, O mankind! You are the poor in your relation to Allah in relation to His forgiveness, mercy, provision and well-being in the life of this world and to His Paradise in the Hereafter. And Allah! He is the Absolute He is free of need for what you have of wealth.

Allah the Owner of Praise; He is praiseworthy in His acts.

The meaning of verse 35:16:

If Allah will, If Allah wants, He can take you away, He can be rid of you, He can destroy you, O disbelievers and bring instead of you some new creation who are better and more obedient than you.

In short, Allah it is very easy for Allah to bring about a new creation, instead of you.

The meaning of verse 35:17:

That i.e. destroying you and bringing a new creation is not a hard thing for Allah. And that is not an arduous thing for Allah.

The meaning of verse 35:18:

And no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul. And should one, soul, burdened heavily, with sin, call for, some of, its burden to be borne, by another, nothing of it will be borne, even if, the one called, be a relative, kin, such as a father or a son.

The impossibility of ‘having something borne by another’ in both instances is something ordained by Allah.

You O Muhammad can only warn those who fear their Lord in secret, in other words, those who fear Him despite not having seen Him, for they are the ones to benefit from the warning, and observe the prayer, maintain performance of it. For whoever purifies himself, cleansing himself of idolatry and other similar abominations, is purifying himself only for the sake of his own soul, because the reforming of his self pertains to him. And to Allah is the end of the journeying, the return in the Hereafter when He will requite according to deeds.

———————————————————————–

Verses 35: 15-18in different English translations of their meanings:

QARIB:

15) People, it is you who are in need of Allah. he is the rich, the praised.

16) He can put you away, if he will, and bring a new creation

17) This is not a great matter for Allah.

18) No laden soul shall bear another’s load. if one is heavyburdened and calls for his load to be carried, nothing of it will be carried, not even if he is a close relative. you warn only those who fear their lord in the unseen, and establish the prayer. he who purifies himself, purifies himself for the good of his own soul. to Allah is the arrival.

SHAKIR:

15) O men! you are they who stand in need of Allah, and Allah is he who is the self-sufficient, the praised one

16) If he please, he will take you off and bring a new generation

17) And this is not hard to Allah

18) And a burdened soul cannot bear the burden of another and if one weighed down by burden should cry for (another to carry) its burden, not aught of it shall be carried, even though he be near of kin. you warn only those who fear their lord in secret and keep up prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for (the good of) his own soul; and to Allah is the eventual coming

PICKTHAL:

15) O mankind! ye are the poor in your relation to Allah. and Allah! he is the absolute, the owner of praise.

16) If he will, he can be rid of you and bring (instead of you) some new creation.

17) That is not a hard thing for Allah.

18) And no burdened soul can bear another’s burden, and if one heavy laden crieth for (help with) his load, naught of it will be lifted even though he (unto whom he crieth) be of kin. thou warnest only those who fear their lord in secret, and have established worship. he who groweth (in goodness), groweth only for himself, (he cannot by his merit redeem others). unto Allah is the journeying.

YUSUFALI:

15) O ye men! it is ye that have need of Allah: but Allah is the one free of all wants, worthy of all praise.

16) If he so pleased, he could blot you out and bring in a new creation.

17) Nor is that (at all) difficult for Allah.

18) Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another’s burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). even though he be nearly related. thou canst but admonish such as fear their lord unseen and establish regular prayer. and whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (3) Read the History of Mankind

Allah encourages man to read the History of mankind to see the dreadful outcome of the sinful nations which denied Allah. This dreadful outcome is but Allah’s punishment in the life of this world. However, their punishment in the Afterlife will be more severe and eternal.

Ayah 6 says: Read the History of mankind

Have the disbelievers not seen how many community of past communities Allah has destroyed

Have the disbelievers not seen how many generations of past generations Allah has destroyed

Have the disbelievers not seen how many nation of past nations Allah has destroyed.

Read the History of mankind.

What about those destroyed communities, generations or nations? Allah established them and assigned them in the earth through strength and abundance.  Allah gave them sovereignty and respite than the sovereignty and respite Allah has given you, O people of Mecca.

Allah has unleashed the heaven, the rain, upon them in torrents, one torrent after another, and made the rivers to flow beneath them.  Allah gave them sovereignty and respite than the sovereignty and respite Allah has given you, O people of Mecca

Then what happened? Have they obeyed Allah and the Prophets sent to them? No. They were but sinful and disobedient.

Then Allah destroyed them because of their sins, because of their denial of the prophets; and Allah rose up after them another generation.

Allah destroyed them because of denying Him and His prophets; and He created after them another generation, a different people who were better than they.

Herein, Allah encourages man to read the History of Mankind to realize what happened to the sinful nations which denied Allah. They will see their dreadful outcome.

This dreadful outcome is but Allah’s punishment in the life of this world. However, their punishment in the Afterlife will be more severe and eternal.

As an example, think about what happened to the Pharoh of Moses and his Egyptians troops.

The verses 6:6 in different translations

QARIB:

Have they not seen how many generations we have destroyed before them whom we had established in the land in a way we never established you, sending down for them abundant water from the sky and made the rivers to flow underneath them? Yet because they sinned, we destroyed them and raised up other generations after them.

SHAKIR:

Do they not consider how many a generation we have destroyed before them, whom we had established in the earth as we have not established you, and we sent the clouds pouring rain on them in abundance, and we made the rivers to flow beneath them, then we destroyed them on account of their faults and raised up after them another generation.

PICKTHAL:

See they not how many a generation we destroyed before them, whom we had established in the earth more firmly than we have established you, and we shed on them abundant showers from the sky, and made the rivers flow beneath them. Yet we destroyed them for their sins, and created after them another generation.

YUSUFALI:

See they not how many of those before them we did destroy? – generations we had established on the earth, in strength such as we have not given to you – for whom we poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins we destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them).
