Death in Quran (3) when Allah says “Be”

The keys of life and death are in Allah’s hands.

Nevertheless, Allah is not dependent on time, place, instruments, or materials. All that He has to do is to say, “Be”

—————————————

Allah gives life and brings death.

The keys of life and death are in Allah’s hands.

The facts of giving life and taking it away are in Allah’s hands.

Nevertheless, Allah is not dependent on time, place, instruments, or materials.

All that He has to do is to say, “Be”, and it comes into existence.

Conversely, His Will or Command is sufficient to annihilate Existence into Non-Existence (Life into Death) or determine the limits or conditions of Existence or Non Existence.

It is sufficient that Allah’s will is directed to the creation of anything through the word, ‘Be,’ and the subject matter of this comes into existence. Blessed be Allah, the best of all creators.

When Allah wants to create a child without a father, such is the case with Jesus, He only says unto it: Be! And it is a son without a father!

When Allah wants the Day of Judgment to happen, He simply says, “Be”! And, it is.

The Quran repeatedly refers to life and death, as they are signs that have a strong effect on man’s heart. Indeed both phenomena affect everything in man’s world. Both have wider scope than initially thought. There are different forms and aspects of both life and death.

—————————————

The verses 40:68 in different translations:

QARIB:

It is he who gives life and makes to die, and when he decrees a thing, he says to it: ‘be, ‘ and it is!

SHAKIR:

He it is who gives life and brings death, so when he decrees an affair, he only says to it: be, and it is

PICKTHAL:

He it is who quickeneth and giveth death. When he ordaineth a thing, he saith unto it only: be! and it is.

YUSUFALI:

It is He who gives life and death; and when he decides upon an affair, he says to it, “be”, and it is.

Atheists in Quran (45) their arrogance: diagnosis and treatment

This article declare three important issues about the Atheists; they are 1) How they becomes arrogant? 2) How they express their arrogance? 3) The treatment of their arrogance

———————————

How they become arrogant?

Man habitually forgets the fact that he is a weak small creature and that whatever strength he may have does not originate from within himself, but from Allah, the source of all strength and power.

Forgetting his bond with Allah, man begins to swell and take on prides.

Arrogance, thus, begins to establish itself within the heart of human being.

On the other hand, man has an essential evident enemy, the Satan.

Satan’s job = to make man astray

Satan’s target = to lead man to hell

Satan, who doomed himself because of his arrogance, works on man to increase his arrogance knowing that through it he can bring man to deterioration.

How the Atheists express their arrogance?

The Atheist disputes Allah’s revelations even when they are clear, addressing human nature with the sort of argument that appeals to it.

The Atheist also claims to himself and others that he is only raising questions because he is not yet convinced.

However, Allah who knows the inner feelings and secret thoughts of all His creatures makes clear that all this is the result of man’s arrogance.

Such arrogance prompts man to argue and dispute Allah’s revelations over which there can be no dispute.

Such arrogance also drives man to aspire to what is beyond his status and what his nature cannot attain.

Yet he has no solid basis for such argument for it is rooted deeply in nothing but his own arrogance:

“As for those who dispute Allah’s revelations, with no authority granted to them, there is nothing in their hearts but a quest for a greatness they will never attain.” (Verse 56)

If only man would understand the truth about himself and the universe, recognizing his role and not trying to exceed it, appreciating

that he is one of countless creatures each doing their role by Allah’s will and according to His design which He alone knows, he would certainly feel relaxed, humble, living in peace with himself and with the world around him.

If man did this, he would easily and readily submit himself to Allah. He would also do this without any hesitation.

“Seek, then, refuge with Allah, for He is the One who hears all and sees all.” (Verse 56)

Seeking refuge with Allah against arrogance is indicative of how grisly it is.

The believers seek Allah’s refuge in order to escape what is ghastly, horrible and evil. Arrogance combines all these. Moreover, it is hard for the arrogant person and for those around him. It causes harm to the heart in which it stirs and to other people’s hearts.

Arrogance is an evil we should seek refuge with Allah from it.

Allah hears all and sees all.

Arrogance is manifested by visible action and/or audible words.

Therefore, it is left to Allah to decide upon it as He pleases.

Man is then told of his true position in this great universe: how small he is in comparison to some of Allah’s creatures, the great magnitude of which is readily visible and better appreciated on careful examination:

“The creation of the heavens and the earth is indeed greater than the creation of man; yet most people do not understand.” (Verse 57)

The heavens and the earth are there for man to see and to measure himself in relation to them. When he knows the reality of the proportions of distance, dimension, size and power, he reduces his pride, feels his smallness and almost disappears. He can only hold his own when he remembers the superior element Allah has granted him, and for which Allah has honored him.

A quick glance at the universe is sufficient to appreciate all this. The earth on which we live is merely a small satellite of the sun: its mass compared to the mass of the sun is no more than three to a million, while its size is one-millionth of the size of the sun. Yet the sun is only one of around billion suns our galaxy includes.

Man now knows that there are around billion such galaxies dispersed in the great expanse of the universe.

Still, what we have discovered of the universe is merely a small part; it is so great that we become dazed when we even try to imagine it. The distance between the sun and us is about 93 million miles. The sun is the head of the family of our planet earth, and most probably, the sun is the mother of the earth.

Therefore, the earth remains close to its mother, standing merely 93 million miles away from it!

The diameter of our galaxy = one hundred billion light years, with one light year measuring 5.8 billion miles, because light travels at the speed of 186,000 miles per second.

The closest galaxy to our own is around 750,000 light years away.

We may say again that these distances and dimensions are the best man’s little knowledge has determined.

Scientists acknowledge that all their discoveries cover only a small part of this great universe.

Allah says:

“The creation of the heavens and the earth is indeed greater than the creation of man; yet most people do not understand” (Verse 57) When we speak of Allah’s power and ability, the concepts of greater or smaller, harder or easier do not apply. He creates everything by a single word, ‘Be!’ The reference here is to how things appear in themselves and how people see and measure them. How does man compare to this great expanse of the universe?

How high can his arrogance take him in Allah’s great creation?

“The blind and the seeing are not equal; nor can those who believe and do good works and those who do evil be deemed equal.” (Verse 58)

The one who is able to see learns and understands, recognizing his station. He does not give himself prides, nor does he allow conceit to distort his judgment.

By contrast, a blind person cannot recognize his position in relation to his surroundings. Therefore, he misjudges his position and what is around him.

The same applies to those believers who do good works and those who do evil. The first group see things for what they are and form accurate ideas, while the other group misjudges all due to their blind ignorance. They harm themselves and others, and above all, they assign to themselves an erroneous position in relation to their environment.

They are blind, for true blindness is that of the mind:

“How seldom you reflect.” (Verse 58)

Had we reflected, we would have known. The whole thing is clear, needing only some reflection before it becomes very apparent.

If only we would remember the hereafter, be certain of its coming, reflect on our position then and recall how we will then stand

“The Last Hour is sure to come: of this there is no doubt. Yet most people will not believe.” (Verse 59)

Because they do not believe, they argue and give themselves prides; they do not submit to the truth and do not limit themselves to their rightful position.

The treatment of their arrogance

Addressing our worship to Allah, praying and appealing to Him, are all means to cure hearts of arrogance, which is the evil that leads people to dispute His revelations and signs without any clear evidence.

Allah opens the door for us to address and pray to Him. He tells us that He has committed Himself to respond to those who pray to Him, warning those who are too proud that they will suffer total humiliation:

“Your Lord says: Call on Me, and I shall answer you. Those who are too proud to worship Me shall enter hell humiliated.” (Verse 60)

Supplication and prayer must observe certain manners.

  • Hearts must be totally dedicated to Allah,
  • Be sure that He will answer our prayer.
  • We must not suggest a particular form, time, or circumstance for answering it. To make such a suggestion is improper when appealing to Allah. We should be clear in our minds that it is a blessing that we address our prayers to Allah, and that His response is another blessing.

Those who are too proud to pray to Allah and appeal to Him deserve their just reward, which leads them to enter hell in total humiliation.

Such is the fitting end of the arrogance that fills some hearts in this small planet and short life, forgetting the greatness of Allah’s creation, let alone His own greatness. It is suitable requital for forgetting the Last Hour, which will inevitably come.

The verses 40:56-60 in different translations:

QARIB:

56- (As for) those who dispute the verses of Allah without authority having been given to them, there is nothing in their chests but pride; that, they shall never attain. therefore seek refuge in Allah, surely, he is the hearer, the seer.

57-Indeed, the creation of heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, yet most people do not know.

58-The blind and the seeing are not equal, nor are those who believe and do good works, and the wrongdoer yet you seldom reflect.

59-There is no doubt that the hour is coming, yet most people do not believe.

60-Your Lord has said: ‘call on me and i will answer you. those who are too proud to worship me shall enter gehenna utterly abject. ‘

SHAKIR:

56-Surely (as for) those who dispute about the communications of Allah without any authority that has come to them, there is naught in their breasts but (a desire) to become great which they shall never attain to; therefore seek refuge in Allah, surely he is the hearing, the seeing

57-Certainly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of the men, but most people do not know

58-And the blind and the seeing are not alike, nor those who believe and do good and the evil-doer; little is it that you are mindful

59-Most surely, the hour is coming, there is no doubt therein, but most people do not believe

60-And your Lord says: call upon me, i will answer you; surely those who are too proud for my service shall soon enter hell abased

PICKTHAL:

56-Lo! Those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah without a warrant having come unto them, there is naught else in their breasts save pride which they will never attain. So take thou refuge in Allah. lo! he, only he, is the hearer, the seer.

57-Assuredly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind; but most of mankind know not.

58-And the blind man and the seer are not equal, neither are those who believe and do good works (equal with) the evil-doer. little do ye reflect!

59-Lo! The hour is surely coming, there is no doubt thereof; yet most of mankind believe not.

60-And your Lord hath said: pray unto me and i will hear your prayer. lo! those who scorn my service, they will enter hell, disgraced.

YUSUFALI:

56-Those who dispute about the signs of Allah without any authority bestowed on them,- there is nothing in their breasts but (the quest of) greatness, which they shall never attain to: seek refuge, then, in Allah: it is he who hears and sees (all things).

57-Assuredly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is a greater (matter) than the creation of men: yet most men understand not.

58-Not equal are the blind and those who (clearly) see: nor are (equal) those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and those who do evil. little do ye learn by admonition!

59-The hour will certainly come: therein is no doubt: yet most men believe not.

60-And your Lord says: “call on me; i will answer your (prayer): but those who are too arrogant to serve me will surely find themselves in hell – in humiliation!”

Atheists in Quran (11) have they read the History

The Quran asks the Atheists three questions, 1) Have not the stories of those who rejected Faith aforetime reached you? 2) Do not you realize that Allah is free of all needs? 3) You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment?

The Quran gives the answers to those who like to know.

———————————

The verses 64:5-7 ask the Atheists three questions

The first Question:

Have not the stories of those who rejected Faith aforetime reached you?

Have not the stories of

  • Noah and the flood that swept all the Atheists
  • Aad and Thamood
  • Abraham and Nimrod
  • Moses and Pharaoh
  • Etc.

Have not these stories reached you?

Have not you read the History?

Do you know what happened to the ancient Atheists?

They tasted the evil result of their conduct in the life of this world and they had a grievous Penalty.

That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Sign; However, they said:

“Shall (mere) human beings direct us?”

So, they rejected (the Message) and turned away.

They tasted the punishment for disbelief in the life of this world.

Moreover, the evil result of their conduct in the Afterlife is awaiting for them; its culminating force will be exhibited in the grievous Penalty of the Hereafter.

The second Question:

Do not the Atheists realize that Allah, the worthy of all praise, is free of all needs?

If all human beings are believers, this will not increase Allah’s kingdom by one inch.

If all human beings are unbelievers, this will not decrease Allah’s kingdom by one inch.

O Atheists, Your obedience is not necessary to Allah, nor will your rejection of Truth affect the validity of Truth or injure the progress of Truth.

Allah is free of all needs or dependence on any circumstance whatever.

He sends His Message for the good of mankind, and it is man who suffers by ignoring, rejecting, or opposing it.

The third Question:

O Atheists, You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment.

In other words, you think that there is no future

life, and no responsibility for your actions beyond what you see in the present life.

If that were true, all the profits of fraud and roguery, which remain unpunished in this

world-and many do remain unpunished in this world-will remain with the wicked; and all the losses and pain suffered by integrity and righteousness, if they find no compensation in this life, will never find any compensation.

This would be an odd result in a world of justice. Muslims are taught:

  • That this is not true,
  • That it is certain that the balance will be redressed in a better future world;
  • That there will be a resurrection of the dead; and

O Atheists, You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment.

Verily, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that you did. And that is easy for Allah.”

———————————

Allah, the Almighty Creator, created all men,

Some are good and others are evil,

You wonder how the good do suffer and the evil succeed,

Remember the Final Goal, when true corrections will be made

The gainers here will be the Losers there,

The Losers here will be the Gainers there.

Good will get more than its full reward

For Allah is Bounteous, Merciful, Mighty, Wise.

———————————

The verses 64:5-7 in different translations:

QARIB:

5-Have you not heard the news of those before you who disbelieved? they tasted the mischief of their action, and for them is a painful punishment.

6-That is because, when their messengers came to them with clear proofs they said: ‘shall humans be our guides? ‘ they disbelieved and turned away, but Allah was not in need (of them). Allah is the rich and the praised.

7-The unbelievers think that they will never be raised up. say: ‘by my Lord, yes indeed, you shall assuredly be raised up! then you shall be told of all that you have done. that is easy for Allah. ‘

SHAKIR:

5-Has there not come to you the story of those who disbelieved before, then tasted the evil result of their conduct, and they had a painful punishment?

6-That is because there came to them their messengers with clear arguments, but they said: shall mortals guide us? so they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is self-sufficient, praised

7-Those who disbelieve think that they shall never be raised. say: aye! by my Lord! you shall most certainly be raised, then you shall most certainly be informed of what you did; and that is easy to Allah

PICKTHAL:

5-Hath not the story reached you of those who disbelieved of old and so did taste the ill-effects of their conduct, and theirs will be a painful doom.

6-That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s sovereignty), but they said: shall mere mortals guide us? so they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is absolute, owner of praise.

7-Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. say (unto them, o muhammad): yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah.

YUSUFALI:

5-Has not the story reached you, of those who rejected faith aforetime? so they tasted the evil result of their conduct; and they had a grievous penalty.

6-That was because there came to them messengers with clear signs, but they said: “shall (mere) human beings direct us?” so they rejected (the message) and turned away. but Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise.

7-The unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for judgment). say: “yea, by my Lord, ye shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. and that is easy for Allah.”

Angels in Islam (11) neither Jesus nor the Angels disdain

In the Quran, the Angels are Allah’s honored slaves

In the Bible, the Angels are sons of God who married the daughters of the People!

——————————————-

Throughout the history, man was confused about the nature of the Angels.

The scholars and the philosophers have four different belief concerning the nature of Angels and who they are:

1)    The first party believes that they are the sons of God

2)    The second party believes that they are the daughters of God

3)    The third party believes that they are God

4)    The fourth party believes that they are partners of God

The Quran denies, rebuts and disproves all of the above belief.

In the previous article, we have seen how the Quran denies the Bible’s claim that the Angels are the sons of God who married the daughters of the People!(Genesis 6:2)

In addition, the Christians claim that Jesus is the son of God.

The verses 4:171 – 173 denies also this claim and gives fertile guidance to the Christians,

The verses give the following Ten fertile guidance:

1) O People of the Gospel, do not go beyond the bounds, in your religion and do not say about Allah except the truth, such as exalting Him above any associations with a partner or a son:

2) The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was only the Messenger of Allah, and not as you claim, that he is the son of God, while Allah has no son.

3) So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say ‘Three’.

4) Refrain, from this and say what, it is better for you, [to say], which is the profession of His Oneness. Verily, Allah is but the only One God.

5) Glory be to Him, transcending the possibility, that He should have a son!

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants including the Angels,

6) And such sovereignty is not compatible with the prophet hood of Jesus.

Allah suffices as a Guardian, a Witness to this.

7) The Messiah, Jesus, would never disdain, scorn or reject haughtily, to be a slave of Allah, neither would the Angels who are close and favored, to Allah, disdain to be servants of Allah.

this is a splendid digression [to the matter of the angels], and it is mentioned as a refutation of those who claim that they [the angels] are son(s) of gods, just as He refuted the Christians who claim that which is the subject of the address to them [above].

Then the Quran says:

8) Whoever disdains to be slave of Allah, whoever disdains to worship Allah, and waxes proud, Allah will assuredly gather all of them to Him in the Day of Judgment.

9) As for those who believed, who did righteous deeds, He will pay them in full their wages, the reward for their deeds, and He will give them more of His bounty, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no man’s heart has ever wished for; and

10) As for them who disdain and are too proud, to worship Him, He will chastise them with a painful chastisement, which is the chastisement of the Eternal Fire, and they shall not find for themselves, besides Allah, that is, other than Him, any friend, to ward it off them, or helper, to protect them from it.

——————————————-

The verses 4:171 – 173 in two different translations

PICKTHAL:

171) O people of the scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and say not “three” – cease! (It is) better for you! – Allah is only one Allah. Far is it removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as defender.

172) the messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. Whoso scorneth his service and is proud, all such will he assemble unto him;

173) Then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will he pay their wages in full, adding unto them of his bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, them will he punish with a painful doom. And they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend or helper.

YUSUFALI:

171) O people of the book! Commit no excesses in your religion: nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and his word, which he bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from him: so believe in Allah and his messengers. Say not “trinity”: desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: glory be to him: (far exalted is he) above having a son. To him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.

172) Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah): those who disdain his worship and are arrogant,-he will gather them all together unto himself to (answer).

173) But to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, he will give their (due) rewards, – and more, out of his bounty: but those who are disdainful and arrogant, he will punish with a grievous penalty; nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.

Angels in Islam (5) the Arabs and the 19 Angels

Another Angel is as big as 34 million men

In the previous article, we have seen that the length of an angel is about 574,875,000 kilometers. i.e. more than 500 million kilometers (more than half a billion kilometers).

If one man’s average shoulder width is like 17-18 inches wide i.e. 44.45 cm then the length of a line formed by a thousand men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 0.4445 kilometer.

Again, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Million men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444.5 kilometers.

Further, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Billion men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444,500 kilometers.

And, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Trillion men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444,500,000 kilometers.

Therefore, the length of an Angel is equal to a hypothetical line formed by 1.3 trillion men stick together shoulder by shoulder.

In the previous article, we have also seen that this Angel is 412 times the diameter of the Sun!

At this instant, it may be fruitful to remember that the Sun is 400 times the size of the moon just to imagine how extremely huge the Angel is.

Now, I will take you back in the History to the year 613

The Prophet Muhammad kept conveying the Message of Allah; he promised the people to dwell in the Eternal Paradise if they believe in Allah and he warned them dwell in the Eternal fire if they do not believe in Allah.

Allah informed us that the keepers of the Eternal Fire are strictly obedient Angels.

Allah mentioned that the keepers of the Eternal Fire are 19 appointed to take care of the Eternal Hell (the verse 74:30 of the Quran).

It is said that the Angels appointed for the Eternal Hell is not as big as those appointed to carry the Throne.

It is said that the shoulder width of the smaller sized Angel appointed for the Eternal Hell is equivalent to the distance of a journey of one year (a camel continuously march in a desert for one year).

This camel’s journey = 365 X 41.5= 15147.5 kilometers = 1.25 the diameter of the Earth = the length of a hypothetical line formed by 34 million men stick together shoulder by shoulder

It is said that the handful of the lesser sized Angels appointed for the Eternal Hell can take very easily 700,000 unbelievers and throw them wherever he wants in the Hell.

When Allah mentioned the seemingly few number of the keepers of the Fire and said that they are 19 Angels appointed to take care of the Eternal Hell, the unbelievers among the Arabs of Makkah mocked very much.

One man, Abu Jahl said: O noble people of Makkah, Can’t each ten of us beat and destroy one of those Angels? We need only 190 men to destroy all of those Angels!

Another man, Abu’l-Ashadd who was very muscular and very strong said mockingly: O please, I can beat and destroy 17 Angels, aren’t you O people able to take care of the other two?

And they kept laughing and took it as an issue for mocking!

However, it is said that the number 19 does not mean 19 individuals but it may denote 19 rows or 19 groups or 19 kinds.

Nevertheless, even if they are 19 individual Angels they are quite enough and quite sufficient to take care of the Eternal Hell and its dwellers.

What President of the American Fertility Society says about the Quran

Professor Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson, the President of the American Fertility Society says: “…that there exist statements in the Quran shown centuries later to be valid, which support knowledge in the Quran having been derived from God.”

————————————————————————————————

Professor Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson is the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA.

Formerly, he was Professor of Ob-Gyn and the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee, USA.

He was also the President of the American Fertility Society. He has received many awards, including the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology Public Recognition Award in 1992.

It happened that Professor Simpson studied the following two sayings of the Prophet Muhammad:
“In every one of you, all components of your creation are collected together in your mother’s womb by forty days…”
“If forty-two nights have passed over the embryo, God sends an angel to it, who shapes it and creates its hearing, vision, skin, flesh, and bones….”
He studied these two sayings (Hadith) of the Prophet Muhammad comprehensively, noting that the first forty days constitute a noticeably distinguishable stage of embryo-genesis.

Joe Leigh Simpson was particularly impressed by the absolute precision and accuracy of those sayings of the Prophet Muhammad.

Then, during one conference, he gave the following judgment:
“It follows, I think, that not only there is no conflict between genetics and religion but, in fact, religion can guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches, that there exist statements in the Quran shown centuries later to be valid, which support knowledge in the Quran having been derived from God.”

The reader is invited to see how Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson’s comments about the Noble Quran in the following video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMLdm50k2ck

And to see Prof. Prof. Simpson saying that  There is no conflict between Islam and science in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gAPlp5svOw

On the other hand, the Quran prophesized those who will read the Quran and they will realize that the Quran is inspired by the Supreme Almighty Creator, Allah.

No wonder then that the first word revealed in the Quran was “Read”, Just Read.

The verse 41:53 in the available translations

QARIB:

We will show them our signs in all the horizons and in themselves, until it is clear to them that it is the truth. is it not sufficient that your lord is witness over everything? ‘

SHAKIR:

We will soon show them our signs in the universe and in their own souls, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. is it not sufficient as regards your lord that he is a witness over all things?

PICKTHAL:

We shall show them our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the truth. doth not thy lord suffice, since he is witness over all things?

YUSUFALI:

Soon will we show them our signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the truth. is it not enough that thy lord doth witness all things?

In Bible vs. Quran: and Paul too denies that Jesus is God (19) three Heads

In the Bible, Paul declares that God has authority over Jesus, God is supreme over Jesus.

On the other hand, Paul is not mentioned in the Quran; however, the Quran says that Jesus is but a great prophet.

——————————————

In the Bible, Paul says: “But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God”. (1 Corinthians 11:3; American Standard Version)

Herein, Paul announces and defines three types of Heads

§  The head of the woman is the man

§  The head of every man is Christ

§  The head of Christ is God

Study of 41 different versions of the Bible reveals that “the head of Christ is God” is found in 22 versions and “God is the head of Christ” is found in 11 versions.

Herein, the meaning of the word “Head” will be discussed both in language and religion.

From the linguistic point of view, Head means position of leadership, greatest authority, or honor. Head also means a person to whom others are subordinate, as the director of an institution or the manager of a department; leader or chief, master, president, lord.

From the religious point of view, What is the meaning of “God is the head of Christ?”

§  The editors of four different versions of the Bible answer this question as follow:

§  The editors of the Contemporary English Version say “God is the head over Christ”

§  The editors of the GOD’S WORD Translation say “God has authority over Christ”

§  The editors of the Good News Translation say “God is supreme over Christ”

§  The editors of the New Living Translation say “the source of Christ is God and Christ is responsible to God”

This shows that God is over Jesus, God has authority over Jesus, God is supreme over Jesus and God is the source of Jesus.

Now, I will let the smart reader to answer this question: Are God and Jesus equal?

Also, the smart reader is invited to read the series of articles: In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (1-18)

——————————————

On the other hand, Paul is not mentioned in the Quran; however, the Quran says that Jesus is but a great prophet and Allah sent him to the Israelites.

The verse 4:171 gives guidance to the Christians to help them to know the truth. The verse says:

“O people of the scripture! do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. the messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and say not “three” – cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only one Allah. far is it removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. his is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. and Allah is sufficient as defender”. (The verse 4:171; PICKTHAL translation)

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (10) His Testimony

In the Bible, the Lord Jesus says: If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

The Quran says that Allah is the greatest in testimony and His testimony is the absolute Truth. And, Allah is sufficient as a witness.

—————————————

In the Bible, the Lord Jesus says in the verse John 5:31:‘If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

Study of the verse John 5:31 in 24 different Bible’s versions reveal that:

Twelve versions say: If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

Eight versions say: If I bear witness of Myself, My witness (testimony) is not true.

Two versions say: If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.

Two versions say: If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.

In addition, you will see in the Appendix what another 16 different Bible’s versions say.

Anyway, this verse is very strange and risky from the faith wise point of view.

Jesus is God or son of God which is equal to God as the Christians believe.

If so, how come that His testimony about Himself is not true or not valid?

Wait to see what the editor of the other 16 versions say about His testimony

—————————————

On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah is the greatest in testimony and His testimony is the absolute Truth. And, Allah is sufficient as a witness

The verse 6:19 and 4:166 of the Quran say according to Pickthal translation:

The verse 6:19

“Say (O Muhammad): what thing is of most weight in testimony? Say: Allah is witness between me and you. And this Qur’an hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach. Do ye in sooth bear witness that there are gods beside Allah? Say: I bear no such witness. Say: he is only one Allah. Lo! I am innocent of that which ye associate (with him).”

The verse 4:166

But Allah (himself) testifieth concerning that which he hath revealeth unto thee; in his knowledge hath he revealed it; and the angels also testify. And Allah is sufficient witness. (Allah is sufficient as a witness)

—————————————

Appendix: Study of the other 16 versions different Bible’s versions shows how the editors of these versions understand, express and present what the Lord Jesus said in the verse John 5:31 of the Bible:

·       If I alone testify in My behalf, My testimony is not valid and cannot be worth anything.

·       You may say that I am bearing witness about myself, that therefore what I say about myself has no value

·       If I were simply speaking on my own account, it would be an empty, self-serving witness.

·       If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid.

·       If I talk about myself, then what I say is not true.

·       If only I tell people about myself, what I say is not true.

·       If I give witness about myself, it doesn’t count.

·       If I tell about Myself, My words are worth nothing.

·       If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not valid.

·       If I testify on my own behalf, what I say isn’t true

·       If I testify on my own behalf, what I say is not to be accepted as real proof.

·       If I testify in my own behalf, that testimony of mine is worth nothing;

·       If I speak for myself, there is no way to prove I am telling the truth.

·       If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not deemed true.

·       If I bear witness about myself, my testimony is not deemed true.

·       If I tell people about myself, they cannot be sure that what I say is true.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (92) None Can Escape

Allah can eradicate the entire unbelievers and can cause what He will to follow after you, even as He raised you from the seed of other folk generation after generation.  Truly, that which you were promised of the dwelling of the unbelievers in the Eternal Hell will surely come to pass, finally, and they cannot escape and none of their friends can help them

——————————————-

Ayah 6:133 says:

Your Lord is Independent of His creatures and their worship.

Thy Lord is the Absolute free of the need for their faith

He is the Lord of Mercy.

If He will, He can remove the entire unbelievers by destroying you, and leave whom He will, of creatures, to succeed after you, just as He raised you from the seed of other people; but He has spewed you, as a mercy to you.

Allah can remove the entire unbelievers and can cause what He will to follow after you, even as He raised you from the seed of other folk generation after generation.

Ayah 6:134 says:

Truly, that which you were promised will surely come to pass and nobody can escape.

This means that:

Truly, that which you were promised, of Death will surely come to pass, inevitably, and you cannot escape

Truly, that which you were promised of revival will surely come to pass, unescapably, and you cannot elude

Truly, that which you were promised of the Hour will surely come to pass, unavoidably, and you cannot escape

Truly, that which you were promised of Day of Judgment will surely come to pass, certainly, and you cannot escape

Truly, that which you were promised of questioning you for what you have done in the life of this world will surely come to pass, definitely, and you cannot escape

Truly, that which you were promised of the chastisement of the unbelievers will surely come to pass, unquestionably, and they cannot escape

Truly, that which you were promised of the dwelling of the unbelievers in the Eternal Hell will surely come to pass, finally, and they cannot escape and none of their friends can help them

The verses 6:133-134 in different translations

QARIB:

133) Your lord is rich and the owner of mercy. he can destroy you if he will and replace you with whom he pleases, just as he raised you from the offspring of other nations.

134) that which you were promised is sure to come. you shall not frustrate me.

SHAKIR:

133) and your lord is the self-sufficient one, the lord of mercy; if he pleases, he may take you off, and make whom he pleases successors after you, even as he raised you up from the seed of another people

134) surely what you were threatened with must come to pass and you cannot escape (it)

PICKTHAL:

133) Thy lord is the absolute, the lord of mercy. if he will, he can remove you and can cause what he will to follow after you, even as he raised you from the seed of other folk.

134) lo! that which ye were promised will surely come to pass, and ye cannot escape.

YUSUFALI:

133) Thy lord is self-sufficient, full of mercy: if it were his will, he could destroy you, and in your place appoint whom he will as your successors, even as he raised you up from the posterity of other people.

134) all that hath been promised unto you will come to pass: nor can ye frustrate it (in the least bit).

This is Allah (14) O mankind, you need Allah and Allah needs nothing

1)    It is very easy for Allah to bring about a new creation instead of us

2)    Allah’s Law: no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul

3)    To Allah is the return in the Hereafter when He will requite according to deeds

4)    Who will benefit from Allah’s warning?

———————————————————————–

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 35:15-18 of the Noble Quran gives five facts and they are: 1) O mankind, you need Allah and Allah does not need you, 2) It is easy for Allah to bring about a new creation instead of you, 3) Allah’s Law: no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul, 4) Who will benefit from Allah’s warning? And 5) To Allah is the return in the Hereafter.

———————————————————————–

The meaning of verse 35:15:

O mankind! You are the ones who are in need of Allah, in every state. And Allah, He is the Independent, without any need of His creatures, the Praised, the One Who is praised in whatever He does with them.

In other words, O mankind! You are the poor in your relation to Allah in relation to His forgiveness, mercy, provision and well-being in the life of this world and to His Paradise in the Hereafter. And Allah! He is the Absolute He is free of need for what you have of wealth.

Allah the Owner of Praise; He is praiseworthy in His acts.

The meaning of verse 35:16:

If Allah will, If Allah wants, He can take you away, He can be rid of you, He can destroy you, O disbelievers and bring instead of you some new creation who are better and more obedient than you.

In short, Allah it is very easy for Allah to bring about a new creation, instead of you.

The meaning of verse 35:17:

That i.e. destroying you and bringing a new creation is not a hard thing for Allah. And that is not an arduous thing for Allah.

The meaning of verse 35:18:

And no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another sinful soul. And should one, soul, burdened heavily, with sin, call for, some of, its burden to be borne, by another, nothing of it will be borne, even if, the one called, be a relative, kin, such as a father or a son.

The impossibility of ‘having something borne by another’ in both instances is something ordained by Allah.

You O Muhammad can only warn those who fear their Lord in secret, in other words, those who fear Him despite not having seen Him, for they are the ones to benefit from the warning, and observe the prayer, maintain performance of it. For whoever purifies himself, cleansing himself of idolatry and other similar abominations, is purifying himself only for the sake of his own soul, because the reforming of his self pertains to him. And to Allah is the end of the journeying, the return in the Hereafter when He will requite according to deeds.

———————————————————————–

Verses 35: 15-18in different English translations of their meanings:

QARIB:

15) People, it is you who are in need of Allah. he is the rich, the praised.

16) He can put you away, if he will, and bring a new creation

17) This is not a great matter for Allah.

18) No laden soul shall bear another’s load. if one is heavyburdened and calls for his load to be carried, nothing of it will be carried, not even if he is a close relative. you warn only those who fear their lord in the unseen, and establish the prayer. he who purifies himself, purifies himself for the good of his own soul. to Allah is the arrival.

SHAKIR:

15) O men! you are they who stand in need of Allah, and Allah is he who is the self-sufficient, the praised one

16) If he please, he will take you off and bring a new generation

17) And this is not hard to Allah

18) And a burdened soul cannot bear the burden of another and if one weighed down by burden should cry for (another to carry) its burden, not aught of it shall be carried, even though he be near of kin. you warn only those who fear their lord in secret and keep up prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for (the good of) his own soul; and to Allah is the eventual coming

PICKTHAL:

15) O mankind! ye are the poor in your relation to Allah. and Allah! he is the absolute, the owner of praise.

16) If he will, he can be rid of you and bring (instead of you) some new creation.

17) That is not a hard thing for Allah.

18) And no burdened soul can bear another’s burden, and if one heavy laden crieth for (help with) his load, naught of it will be lifted even though he (unto whom he crieth) be of kin. thou warnest only those who fear their lord in secret, and have established worship. he who groweth (in goodness), groweth only for himself, (he cannot by his merit redeem others). unto Allah is the journeying.

YUSUFALI:

15) O ye men! it is ye that have need of Allah: but Allah is the one free of all wants, worthy of all praise.

16) If he so pleased, he could blot you out and bring in a new creation.

17) Nor is that (at all) difficult for Allah.

18) Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another’s burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). even though he be nearly related. thou canst but admonish such as fear their lord unseen and establish regular prayer. and whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.
