Angels in Islam (26) their greeting word

The Angels’ greeting word on meeting is persistently one word; it is “Salam”.

Salam means Peace

—————————————–

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting are not:

  • How do you do
  • Good morning
  • Good afternoon
  • Good evening
  • Good day
  • Pleased to meet you
  • Hello
  • Hi, or
  • How are you

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting is persistently one word; it is “Salam”.

Salam, in Arabic, means Peace

Al-Salam that means “the Peace” is one of Allah’s names.

Salam was the Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham); the story of this meeting is mentioned three times in the Noble Quran in the verses 15:51-52, 11:69 and 51:25

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the good faithful believers at the moment of their death:

To those whom the angels cause to die when they are good, pure of any unbelief and pure from associating any partners with Allah, the Angels say: Peace be unto you! This is the greeting!

Then, the Angels will continue saying: Enter Paradise because of your faith and what you have done in your worldly life. (The verse 16:32)

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the good faithful believers at the gate of Paradise in the Afterlife:

And those who feared their Lord, those who keep their duty to their Lord and those who obey their Lord, they will be driven, gently, to Paradise in troops, until, when they reach it, and its gates are opened and its keepers (the Angels therein) will say to them, ‘Peace be to you! This is the greeting!

Then, the Angels will continue saying:

You are good! You succeeded and are saved. So enter it to abide therein with the decree that you are to abide in it forever, never to die or and never to leave it (the verse 39:73).

The manner of their being driven as well as the opening of the gates before their arrival is a way of honoring them; the driving of the disbelievers to the Hell, however, and the opening of the gates only upon their arrival so that all of its heat is retained for them, is a means of humiliating them.

Nevertheless, Salam, the Angels’ greeting word is only for the believers.

For the unbelievers there are the words of blaming, accusing and smiting their faces.

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the Prophet Ibrahim

15:51-52 (PICKTHAL translation)

And tell them of Abraham’s guests, (how) when they came in unto him, and said: peace. He said: lo! We are afraid of you.

11:69 (PICKTHAL translation)

PICKTHAL:

And our messengers came unto Abraham with good news. They said: peace! He answered: peace! And delayed not to bring a roasted calf.

51:25 (QARIB translation)

Have you heard the story of Abraham’s honored guests? They entered to him and said: ‘peace. ‘And he replied: ‘peace, you are people unknown to me.’

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the good faithful believers at the moment of their death:

16:32 (SHAKIR translation)

Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying: peace be on you: enter the garden for what you did

The Angels’ greeting words on meeting with the good faithful believers at the gate of Paradise in the Afterlife:

39:73 (YUSUFALI translation)

And those who feared their Lord will be led to the garden in crowds: until behold, they arrive there; its gates will be opened; and its keepers will say: “peace be upon you! We’ll have ye done! Enter ye here, to dwell therein.”

Angels in Islam (5) the Arabs and the 19 Angels

Another Angel is as big as 34 million men

In the previous article, we have seen that the length of an angel is about 574,875,000 kilometers. i.e. more than 500 million kilometers (more than half a billion kilometers).

If one man’s average shoulder width is like 17-18 inches wide i.e. 44.45 cm then the length of a line formed by a thousand men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 0.4445 kilometer.

Again, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Million men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444.5 kilometers.

Further, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Billion men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444,500 kilometers.

And, the length a hypothetical line formed by One Trillion men stick together shoulder by shoulder is 444,500,000 kilometers.

Therefore, the length of an Angel is equal to a hypothetical line formed by 1.3 trillion men stick together shoulder by shoulder.

In the previous article, we have also seen that this Angel is 412 times the diameter of the Sun!

At this instant, it may be fruitful to remember that the Sun is 400 times the size of the moon just to imagine how extremely huge the Angel is.

Now, I will take you back in the History to the year 613

The Prophet Muhammad kept conveying the Message of Allah; he promised the people to dwell in the Eternal Paradise if they believe in Allah and he warned them dwell in the Eternal fire if they do not believe in Allah.

Allah informed us that the keepers of the Eternal Fire are strictly obedient Angels.

Allah mentioned that the keepers of the Eternal Fire are 19 appointed to take care of the Eternal Hell (the verse 74:30 of the Quran).

It is said that the Angels appointed for the Eternal Hell is not as big as those appointed to carry the Throne.

It is said that the shoulder width of the smaller sized Angel appointed for the Eternal Hell is equivalent to the distance of a journey of one year (a camel continuously march in a desert for one year).

This camel’s journey = 365 X 41.5= 15147.5 kilometers = 1.25 the diameter of the Earth = the length of a hypothetical line formed by 34 million men stick together shoulder by shoulder

It is said that the handful of the lesser sized Angels appointed for the Eternal Hell can take very easily 700,000 unbelievers and throw them wherever he wants in the Hell.

When Allah mentioned the seemingly few number of the keepers of the Fire and said that they are 19 Angels appointed to take care of the Eternal Hell, the unbelievers among the Arabs of Makkah mocked very much.

One man, Abu Jahl said: O noble people of Makkah, Can’t each ten of us beat and destroy one of those Angels? We need only 190 men to destroy all of those Angels!

Another man, Abu’l-Ashadd who was very muscular and very strong said mockingly: O please, I can beat and destroy 17 Angels, aren’t you O people able to take care of the other two?

And they kept laughing and took it as an issue for mocking!

However, it is said that the number 19 does not mean 19 individuals but it may denote 19 rows or 19 groups or 19 kinds.

Nevertheless, even if they are 19 individual Angels they are quite enough and quite sufficient to take care of the Eternal Hell and its dwellers.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (71) Muhammad is not in charge for what is inside their hearts

Allah says: You are O Muhammad not responsible for them; whoever wants to believe in the Quran it is up to him and whoever wants to disbelieve in the Quran it is up to him and you O Muhammad are not in charge for what is inside their hearts of faith and belief.

——————————————-

Ayah 106 says:

Follow O Muhammad what has been inspired in you from from your Lord.

Follow O Muhammad and O believers what has been revealed in the Quran.

Act upon that which is revealed to you from your Lord, i.e. the Quran that tells the lawful and unlawful.

There is no god but Allah

There is no creator or provider save Allah

And turn away from the idolaters, from those who associate with Allah a son, a daughter, a spouse, a partner and turn away from those who mock.

Ayah 107 says:

Had Allah willed, they would not have been idolaters

Had Allah willed, they would not have associated a son with Allah

Had Allah willed, they would not have associated a daughter with Allah

Had Allah willed, they would not have associated a spouse with Allah

Had Allah willed, they would not have ascribed partners to Allah

We have not set you as a keeper over them to protect them.

We have not set you as a watcher over them so that you might then requite them for their deeds; nor are you a guardian over them, so that you might be able to coerce them to faith.

You are O Muhammad not responsible for them; whoever wants to believe in the Quran it is up to him and whoever wants to disbelieve in the Quran it is up to him and you O Muhammad are not in charge for what is inside their hearts of faith and belief.

—————————————————

The verses 6:106-107 in different translations

QARIB:

106) therefore, follow what has been revealed to you from your lord there is no god except him, and avoid the idolaters.

107) had Allah willed, they would not have associated. We have not made you an overseer for them, nor are you their guardian.

SHAKIR:

106) follow what is revealed to you from your lord; there is no god but he; and withdraw from the polytheists

107) and if Allah had pleased, they would not have set up others (with him) and we have not appointed you a keeper over them, and you are not placed in charge of them

PICKTHAL:

106) follow that which is inspired in thee from thy lord; there is no Allah save him; and turn away from the idolaters.

107) had Allah willed, they had not been idolatrous. we have not set thee as a keeper over them, nor art thou responsible for them.

YUSUFALI:

106) follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy lord: there is no god but he: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah.

107) if it had been Allah’s plan, they would not have taken false gods: but we made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (70) who were the first claiming that the Quran is quoted from other books?

Although the first ones who claimed that the Quran is quoted from other scriptures are the ignorant idolators among the Arabs who were present at the time of the Prophet Muhammad; however, the modern intellectual people nowadays are still imitating and reproducing what the ignorant idolators Arabs have said more than 1400 years ago.

——————————————-

Ayah 104 says:

Say, O Muhammad to the unbelievers:

Clear proofs have come to you from your Lord;

Whoever perceives them and believes in the Quran then it is for his own good, since the reward resulting from his perception will be his; and

Whoever is blind, to them and disbelieves and goes astray, then it, the evil consequence of his being astray, will be to his own hurt and punishment; and

I am not to watch over your doings; I am but a warner.

I am not an overseer for you; I am but a warner.

I am not a keeper over you to protect you; I am but a warner.

Ayah 105 says:

And so, in the same way that Allah has displayed His revelations and explained what has been mentioned, Allah dispense elucidates the signs that they might take heed and that the disbelievers may say at the end of this: ‘You have studied with someone’, and you have consulted with the People of the Scripture or that you have studied the scriptures of ancient peoples and brought this Quran therefrom.

As a matter of fact, this prophecy is still effective and the disbelievers still say that the Quran is quoted from other sceiptures.

Although the first ones said that the Quran is quoted from other sceiptures are the ignorant idolators Arabs present at the time of the Prophet Muhammad; however, the modern intellectual people nowadays are still imitating and reproducing what the ignorant idolators Arabs have said more than 1400 years ago.

The verses 6:104-105 in different translations

QARIB:

104) clear proofs have come to you from your lord. Whosoever sees clearly it is for himself, and whosoever is blind, it is against himself. I am not an overseer for you.

105) as such we make plain our verses, so that they can say: ‘you have studied, ‘ in order that we clarify it to a nation that knows.

SHAKIR:

104) indeed there have come to you clear proofs from your lord; whoever will therefore see, it is for his own soul and whoever will be blind, it shall be against himself and I am not a keeper over you

105) and thus do we repeat the communications and that they may say: you have read; and that we may make it clear to a people who know

PICKTHAL:

104) proofs have come unto you from your lord, so whoso seeth, it is for his own good, and whoso is blind is blind to his own hurt. and I am not a keeper over you.

105) thus do we display our revelations that they may say (unto thee, Muhammad): “thou hast studied,” and that we may make (it) clear for people who have knowledge.

YUSUFALI:

104) “now have come to you, from your lord, proofs (to open your eyes): if any will see, it will be for (the good of) his own soul; if any will be blind, it will be to his own (harm): I am not (here) to watch over your doings.”

105) thus do we explain the signs by various (symbols): that they may say, “thou hast taught (us) diligently,” and that we may make the matter clear to those who know.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (69) None Can See Allah

That is Allah, your Almighty Lord; there is no god but Him. Do not ascribe son, daughter, spouse and/or partner to Him. None can see Allah in the life of this world; however, the believer will see Allah in the Afterlife

——————————————-

In the previous article, the atheists claimed that Allah and Satan (jinn) were two brothers and partners. However, Allah created the jinn: so how can they be associates?

Also, they falsely associate to Allah sons and daughters saying that Jesus is the son of God, and the Angels are the daughters of Allah.

However, it is Allah who originates the heavens and the earth without precedent.

How should He have a son, when He has no spouse, and He created everything?

Then Ayah 6:102 says:

That then is Allah, your Lord.

There is no god but Him,

He is the Creator of all things.

So, worship Him.

Declare and affirm His divine Oneness.

Do not ascribe son (s), daughter(s), spouse(s) and/or partner(s) to Him

He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.

And He is Guardian over all things.

And He is Keeper of all things.

He is the guarantor of the provision (of all things) of all created beings.

Ayah 6:103 says:

Vision cannot attain or encompass Him.

The eyes cannot see Him.

But, He attains all vision, that is to say, He perceives them, whereas they cannot perceive Him.

The created beings are not be able to see Him in this world

He sees that which human beings do not see and nothing escapes or is hidden from Him

And He is the Subtle in dealing with the believers; and He is the Aware of them.

He is the Subtile in His actions whose knowledge surrounds His created beings, (the Aware) of His created beings and their actions.

In short, none can see Allah in the life of this world.

However, it is accepted that the believer will see Allah in the Afterlife, as indicated by Allah’s words: “On that Day faces shall be radiant, gazing upon their Lord” (See the verse: 75:22)

The verses 6:102-103 in different translations

QARIB:

102) that is Allah, your lord. There is no god except He, the creator of all things. Therefore, worship Him. He is the guardian of all things.

103) no eye can see Him, though He sees all eyes. He is the subtle, the aware.

SHAKIR:

102) that is Allah, your lord, there is no god but He; the creator of all things, therefore serve Him, and He has charge of all things

103) vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision; and He is the knower of subtleties, the aware

PICKTHAL:

102) such is Allah, your lord. There is no Allah save Him, the creator of all things, so worship Him. And He taketh care of all things.

103) vision comprehendeth Him not, but He comprehendeth (all) vision. He is the subtile, the aware.

YUSUFALI:

102) that is Allah, your lord! There is no god but He, the creator of all things: then worship ye Him: and He hath power to dispose of all affairs.

103) no vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.

Chapter 50 of the Quran (12) Liars Today = Liars in the Afterlife

We knew that Allah has engaged two angels for every man; their job is recording a person’s deeds. One angel is at your right side and he is recording your good deeds. The other angel is at your left side and he is recording your evil deeds.

However, Liars in the life of this world are also liars in the Afterlife.

Hearing that they will be thrown into the Eternal Hell, the terrified disbeliever will claim that the angel hastened to write his evil deeds and recorded that which he never said or did.

His comrade, the angel who recorded his evil deeds will say: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel. I did not hasten to record his evil deeds nor did I record that which he has never said or done”

It would be an immense dispute.

But, is any dispute allowed in the presence of our Supreme Creator, Allah?

In the verses 50:28-29, Allah, exalted be He, will say unto the disbelievers:

Do not dispute in my presence for I had already given you in the life of the world, the threat, of chastisement in the Hereafter should you not believe, and so it is now inevitable.

In other words, do not dispute; do not contend in my presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning that I have informed you in the Scripture with which the Messenger was sent about this Day.

My word cannot be changed and I am not unjust to the servants and I would not punish them without them having committed a crime and My decree concerning My good salves will not be changed this Day.

There will be no injustice today, there is but absolute Justice.

Today is the Day of the entire Honesty.

Sincerely, I (the author) wish that any disbeliever or atheist know that such disputing is of no use in the Afterlife; it is fruitless.

—————————————————————-

The verses 50:28-29 in different translations

QARIB:

28) He (I) will say: ‘do not dispute before me. I sent you a warning beforehand.

29) The word cannot be changed with me; I do not wrong my worshipers. ‘

SHAKIR:

28) He will say: do not quarrel in my presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

29) My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants

PICKTHAL:

28) He saith: contend not in my presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning.

29) The sentence that cometh from me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves.

YUSUFALI:

28) He will say: “dispute not with each other in my presence: I had already in advance sent you warning.

29) “The word changes not before me, and I do not the least injustice to my servants.”

Chapter 50 of the Quran (11) the Vast Dispute in the Afterlife

In the previous articles, Allah will say to Malik, the Keeper of the Eternal Fire:

Hurl to hell each rebel who turns away from faith and who disbelieves in Allah

Cast into Hell every obdurate disbeliever, obstinate to the truth,

Cast into Hell every hinderer of good, such as the payment of alms,

Hurl to hell each transgressor, wrongdoer, oppressor, skeptic, a doubter of his religion whose doubt is quite manifest and who further lies against Allah.

The verse 50:26 adds:

Allah will say to Malik too:

Cast into Hell everyone who has set up alongside Allah another god! Cast him into the severe chastisement

Hurl to hell everyone who set up another god along with Allah; who claims that Allah has a son and/or a partner. Cast him in the severe torment.

Hearing that, the terrified disbelievers will claim that the angel hastened to write his evil deeds and recorded that which he never said or did.

The verse 50:27 says:

But, His comrade, the angel who recorded his evil deeds will say: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel. I did not hasten to record his evil deeds nor did I record that which he has never said or done”

it is also said that every disbeliever will claim that Satan and his devils among the Jinn cause him to rebel or err; however, Satan will plead with Allah that he did not cause him to rebel or err but be was himself far gone in error and far from the Truth and guidance.

Satan, will say, ‘Our Lord! I did not make him a rebel, I did not lead him astray, but he himself was in extreme error’, and so when I invited him to disobedience he heeded my call

It is really an immense dispute between the disbelievers and his two comrade Angels and also between the disbelievers and Satan.

But, is any dispute allowed in the presence of our Supreme Creator, Allah?

See the next article.

The verses 50:26-27 in different translations

QARIB:

26) Who has set up with Allah another god. indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment. ‘

27) And his companion shall say: ‘our Lord, i did not make him insolent, he was far astray. ‘

SHAKIR:

26) Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement

27) His companion will say: our Lord! i did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error

PICKTHAL:

26) Who setteth up another god along with Allah. do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom.

27) His comrade saith: our Lord! i did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error.

YUSUFALI:

26) “Who set up another god beside Allah: throw him into a severe penalty.”

27) His companion will say: “our Lord! i did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray.”

Chapter 50 of the Quran (10) Malik, the Keeper of Eternal Fire

In the previous articles, Allah has engaged two angels for every man; their job is recording a person’s deeds. One angel is at your right side and he is recording your good deeds. The other angel is at your left side and he is recording your evil deeds.

Do you see your charged Angels in the life of this world? No

However, you will see them when you revive from your grave.

They will be your driver and your witness at the Day of Judgment.

On the other hand, your charged Angels normally talk to each other in the life of this world, do you hear them talking although they are very close to you? No

However, you will hear them when you revive from your grave, and you will hear them talking to Allah saying:

The verse 50:23 says:

And his companion, the angels charged with him will say: This is what I have ready with me as testimony.

In other words, his comrade, the angel who recorded man’s good deeds and the angel who recorded man’s evil deeds will say: This is that which I have, this is that which you O My Lord have entrusted me; it is ready as testimony.

Now, what is the name of the Keeper of the Eternal Fire?

The Keeper of the Eternal Fire is one of the great Angels, his name is Malik.

The verse 50:24-25 says:

Whereupon Allah would say to Malik:

Hurl to hell each rebel who turns away from faith and who disbelieves in Allah

Cast into Hell every obdurate disbeliever, obstinate to the truth,

Cast into Hell every hinderer of good, such as the payment of alms,

Hurl to hell each transgressor, wrongdoer, oppressor, skeptic, a doubter of his religion whose doubt is quite manifest and who further lies against Allah.

—————————————————————-

The verses 50:23-25 in different translations

QARIB:

23) And his companion will say: ‘this is that which i have present. ‘

24) (It will be said): ‘indeed, cast into gehenna (hell) every deviating unbeliever,

25) Forbidder of good, transgressor and doubter,

SHAKIR:

23) And his companions shall say: this is what is ready with me

24) Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one,

25) Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter,

PICKTHAL:

23) And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: this is that which i have ready (as testimony).

24) (And it is said): do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate,

25) Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter,

YUSUFALI:

23) And his companion will say: “here is (his record) ready with me!”

24) (The sentence will be 🙂 “Throw, throw into hell every contumacious rejecter (of Allah)!-

25) “Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions;
