In Quran, Allah sent a Prophet to every nation

It is interesting that the Bible which is a historical book declares that all the Prophets sent by the Lord God were Israelites who were in the area of Iraq, Palestine and Egypt.  On the other hand, the Quran which is not a historical book challenges the Historians and declares that Allah sent a Prophet to every ancient nation.  Hence, the Historian have to find out who are the prophets sent to America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.

—————————————

The Bible talks about the Pre-Flood Era and the Increasing Corruption on Earth which provoked God’s wrath so that He flooded the earth.  The Bible says:

When man began to multiply on the face of the Earth and daughters were born to them, the Sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they married them.

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, his days shall be 120 years. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the Sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, “I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

Herein, there are some points; they are:

1)    Why only daughters were born unto man?

2)    Who are the Sons of God and how many they were?

3)    Also, nothing can or could, will or would grieve Allah.  Also, Allah has no heart; He is not like us or like anything else.

4)    Is man’s age 120 years as the Lord God has decided?

5)    Allah never ever repents of anything He did, He does and/or He will do.

6)    Moreover, although the Biblical God has Spirit, Allah has no Spirit; He is not like us.

7)    In addition, although the Biblical God has heart (and blood vessels and blood consequently), Allah has no heart; He is not like us or like anything else.

On the other hand, the Quran does not talk about the Increasing Corruption on Earth in the Pre-Flood Era, but it talks about the corruption of mankind from the time of creation of man up till now.  After Adam’s fall, Allah gave him and his offspring consequently an advice (Verses 20:121-123 and verses 2:38-39); hereupon, Allah sent Prophets to every nation on the Earth and He ends the Prophethood with the last Prophet, Muhammad (Verses 43:6-7 and verses 35:24-25).

After Adam’s fall, Allah gave him and his offspring consequently an advice

The meanings of the verses 20:121-123

And Adam disobeyed his Lord and so he erred, by [his] eating from the tree.

Then his Lord chose him, He brought him close [to Him], and relent to him,

Then Allah chose him, He accepted his repentance, overlooked his sin and guided him to seek repentance regularly.

[N.B., In the Bible, the Lord has not accepted Adam’s repentance; that is why He sent his son to the Earth.]

And Allah said, ‘Go down both of you, that is, Adam and Eve, including all of your progeny, from it, from the Garden, all together, some of you, some of the progeny, being enemies of others, because of some wronging others. Yet if there should come to you guidance (a Scripture, a Messenger, and/ or a Prophet) from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, shall not go astray in the life of this world nor come to grief in the Hereafter.

The meanings of the verses 2:38-39

Allah said to Adam, Eve, and Satan, ‘Go down from the Heaven, all together. Then Allah mentioned Adam’s progeny, from hence; when and whenever it comes to you, from Me a guidance, whoever follows My guidance, believing in me and performing deeds in obedience of Me, no fear shall befall them, neither shall they grieve, in the Hereafter, since they will be admitted into Paradise.

But those who disbelieve, and deny our guidance, they will be the rightful owners of the Eternal Fire; they will abide therein forever, they will remain perpetually in hell: never to die or be released from it.

Allah sent Prophets to every nation on the Earth and He ends the Prophethood with the last Prophet, Muhammad

The meanings of the verses 43:6-7

Allah asks the Historian this Question

And how many a prophet did Allah send among the ancients!  O Muhammad, Allah knew that they would not believe, but Allah nonetheless did not leave the bygone nations without messengers and Scriptures!  And never came to these past nations a Prophet but they used to mock their Prophets, in the same way that your people deride you O Muhammad.

It follows that, in contrary to the Bible which states that all the Prophets were Israelites, every ancient nation had its own Prophet; the historians and researchers have to dig through the history to explore the prophets sent to America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.

It should be emphasized that Allah sent a Prophet (Idris); the scholar said that he was an Egyptian Prophet sent to the Ancient Egypt before the Flood (Verses 19:56-57). Idris is not mentioned in the Bible.

The meanings of the verses 35:24-25

Lo! Allah has sent you O Muhammad with the Truth, with the Quran, as a bearer of glad tidings, announcing Paradise for whoever believes in Allah, and as a Warner from the Fire for whoever disbelieves in Allah; and there is not a nation except that they had a warning messenger. In other words, there is not a nation or a community before you O Muhammad but a Warner has passed among them to warn them.

And if they deny you O Muhammad, those before them also denied their messengers who brought them manifest signs, miracles and with scriptures.  In other words, the messengers before Muhammad came unto their nations with clear proofs of Allah’s Sovereignty; they came to them with commands, prohibitions and signs, and with the Scripture expositing the lawful and the unlawful.

The Bible (King James Version)

Genesis 6:1-7

1) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2) That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3) And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4) There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5) And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7) And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

The Quran (Pickthal translation)

Verses 43:6-7

6) How many a prophet did we send among the men of old (the ancients)!

7) And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him.

Verses 35:24-25

24) Lo! We have sent thee with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a Warner; and there is not a nation but a Warner hath passed among them.

25) And if they deny thee, those before them also denied. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s sovereignty), and with the psalms and the scripture giving light.

Verses 20:121-123

121) … and Adam disobeyed his lord, so went astray.

122)  Then his lord chose him, and relented toward him, and guided him.

123)  He said: go down hence, both of you, one of you a foe unto the other. But when there come unto you from me guidance, then whoso followeth my guidance, he will not go astray nor come to grief.

Verses 2:38-39

38) We said: go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from me guidance; and whoso followeth my guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

39) But they who disbelieve, and deny our revelations, such are rightful peoples of the fire. They will abide therein.

Back to my question to the smart and interested reader:

Are the Scholars truthful when they claim that the Quran quoted from the Bible?

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (18) His Lost Gospel

The Bible says that Jesus had His Gospel. Nevertheless, Jesus’ Gospel is either Lost or hidden for some reasons.

The Quran says that Allah gave Jesus the gospel; and the readers will find out that the prophet Muhammad and his distinguishing personality is written down in the Gospel of Jesus.

—————————————

What is the difference between the following two verses?

“Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached” (New King James Version)

“Now, I assure you that wherever the gospel is preached” (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Are both the same? No

The New King James Version says: this gospel. And so do seven other versions.

The Holman Christian Standard Bible says: the gospel. And so do 33 other versions.

From the Linguistic point of view, we all know that, “This” is used to indicate a thing as present, near, or pointed out; referring to the thing nearer in place and/or time.

This indicates that the Lord Jesus had “His Gospel” and he pointed out and showed it to His followers saying: “”This Gospel”.

Nowadays, we have the gospels according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Also, Paul claims that he has his own gospel.

Nevertheless, “This” Gospel of Jesus is either completely Lost or hidden for some reason.

Furthermore, in an attempt to hide “This” and replace it by “the”, only eight (out of 42) different versions of the Bible say “This” Gospel (good news) while 34 versions say: “the” Gospel (good news). This means that 81% of editors of the 42 versions are trying to hide “This” Gospel and replacing it by “the” Gospel. For details, see the appendix.

———————————

On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah gave Jesus the gospel (the verse 5:46).

Also, the readers will find the unlettered prophet (Muhammad) written down in the Gospel of Jesus (the verse 7:157).

in other word, Jesus declares in His Gospel that He is but a Prophet and He foretells about the last prophet Muhammad..

Now, the smart reader may understand why the Gospel of Jesus is either Lost or Hidden.

The verse 5:46 (Pickthal translation)

and we caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him in the Torah, and we bestowed on him the gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was (revealed) before it in the Torah – a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil).

The verse 5:46 (Pickthal translation)

Those who follow the messenger, the prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and honor him, and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful.

———————————

Appendix: Study of 42 different versions of the Bible reveals that:

Eight versions say: “This” Gospel (good news); they are: 21st Century King James Version, Easy-to-Read Version, King James Version, Knox Bible, New Life Version, New King James Version, Wycliffe Bible and Young’s Literal Translation.

Thirty four versions say: “the” Gospel (good news); they are: American Standard Version, Amplified Bible,  Common English Bible, Complete Jewish Bible, Contemporary English Version, Darby Translation, Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition, English Standard Version, English Standard Version Anglicised, Expanded Bible, GOD’S WORD Translation, Good News Translation, Holman Christian Standard Bible, J.B. Phillips New Testament,  The Message, Lexham English Bible, Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament, New American Standard Bible, New Century Version,  New English Translation, New International Reader’s Version, New International Version, New International Version 1984, New International Version – UK, New Revised Standard Version, New Living Translation, New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised, New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised Catholic Edition, New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition, Orthodox Jewish Bible, Revised Standard Version, Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition, Today’s New International Version and Worldwide English (New Testament)

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (14) His God

In the Bible, Jesus declares that he has God; He named his God the Father.

In the Quran, Jesus declares that he has God; He named his God Allah.

—————————————

Nearby His grave, Jesus talked to Mary Magdalene.  Jesus said unto her, “Touch Me not, for I am not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say unto them, ‘I ascend unto My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'”

John 20:17 (21st Century King James Version).

In this verse of the Bible (John 20:17), Jesus declares and admits that he has God; He named his God the Father.

It should be emphasized that the name “Allah” is mentioned more than “2222” times in the eight available Arabic versions of the Bible; also, the Arabic Christians use the name “Allah” all the time.

—————————————

Anyway, in the verses 3:50-51 of the Quran, Jesus declares and admits that he has God; He named his God Allah.

The verses 3:50-51 of the Quran are talking about Jesus; the verses say according to the available translations:

QARIB:

50) Likewise confirming the Torah that has been before me and to make lawful to you some of the things you have been forbidden. I bring you a sign from your Lord, therefore, fear Allah and obey me.

51) Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore, worships him. This is the straight path”. ‘

SHAKIR:

50) And a verifier of that which is before me of the Torah and that I may allow you part of that which has been forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a sign from your Lord therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me

51) Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve him; this is the right path

PICKTHAL:

50) And (I come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

51) Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship him. That is a straight path.

YUSUFALI:

50) “‘(I have come to you), to attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me.

51) “‘it is Allah who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship him. This is a way that is straight.'”

—————————————

Appendix:

Linguistic study of the verse John 20:17 in 40 different Bible’s versions reveal that:

1) What Jesus said to Mary? Touch not, hold not or cling not.

2) Haven’t Jesus yet Ascended, gone up, gone back or returned

1) What Jesus said to Mary?

in 22 versions, He said: Don’t hold on to me, Stop holding onto me, do not hold me now or You don’t need to hold on to me

In nine versions, He said: Touch Me not, Do not touch me, Be not touching me or Do not thou touch me

In nine versions, He said: Do not cling to Me or Stop clinging to Me

2) haven’t Jesus yet Ascended, gone up, gone back or returned

For I am not yet ascended to My Father, I ascend (I am ascending) unto my Father, and your Father, and to My God and your God (in 27 versions)

For I haven’t yet gone up (back) to my Father, I’m going up (back) to my Father and your Father, and to My God and your God (in 11 versions)

For I have not yet returned to the Father, I am returning to my Father, and to My God and your God (in two versions)

This is Allah (44) Allah Sent Lot to his People Saying: Stop homosexuality

Allah’s Law: the Behinds of Both Men and Women is Prohibited

Have you ever Known or Seen a Homosexual Dog, Cat, Donkey etc?

Are there Other Creatures in Other Planets that Have Sexual Activity Like Man?

Historically, Lot’s Folk was the First Among all of the Creatures Committing Homosexuality

Lot Said: Stop Homosexuality and they Said: Expel this Pure Man from Our City

——————————————-

Many people do not know Allah.

This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:80-84 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah sent Lot to his people saying: stop homosexuality,

2) Allah’s Law: the behinds of both men and women is prohibited,

3) historically, Lot’s folk was the first among all of the creatures committing homosexuality and

4) Are there other creatures in other planets that have sexual activity like man?

——————————————-

The meaning of verse 7:80

The verse mentions Lot and says: Allah sent Lot to his people; and He said to them people, Do you commit abomination, that is penetrating the rears of men, i.e. the homosexuality, such as no creature ever did this act before you?  In other words, such as no one in all the worlds ever committed before you, humans or jinn or any other creature?

This verse indicates that there are other creatures in the worlds which have sexual activity like man. These might include Jinn and other creatures in other planets that we have no idea about them.  Nevertheless, historically, Lot’s folk was the first among all of those creatures committing homosexuality.

Also, as far as I know, there is no homosexuality among the animals like dogs, cats etc.  Have you ever known or seen a homosexual dog, cat etc?

Subsequently, what about the marvel man?

The meaning of verse 7:81

indeed you come lustfully to men’s behinds instead of women?

Nay, you are a wanton folk, transgressing the bounds, going from what is lawful to what is unlawful. In other words, you transgress from the lawful to that which is prohibited.

The meaning of verse 7:82

And the answer of his people was only that they said mockingly:

“Expel Lot and his followers, from our city, Turn them out

Surely Lot and his followers are folk who would be pure!’, They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure, who avoid the behinds of men and women.”

The meaning of verse 7:83

So Allah delivered, rescued, saved Lot and his family, except his wife: she was of those who stayed behind, who remained in the chastisement and was therefore destroyed.

The meaning of verse 7:84

And Allah rained a rain upon them. Allah sent down upon them, the homosexuals, stones from heaven and destroyed them.

Consider O Muhammad the nature of the consequence for evil-doers! the end result of the idolaters is destruction. So behold what was the end of the sinners!

——————————————-

Verses 7:80-84 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

80) And lot, who said to his nation: ‘do you commit such indecency (sodomy) in a way that no one has preceded you in the worlds?

81) You approach men lustfully instead of women. truly, you are a nation who exceed (in sin). ‘

82) The only answer of his nation was: ‘expel them from your village. they are people who keep themselves purified. ‘

83) We saved him and all his family, except his wife, who was made to remain,

84) And we rained down upon them a rain. so look how was the end of the evildoers.

SHAKIR:

80) And (we sent) lut when he said to his people: what! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you?

81) Most surely you come to males in lust besides females; nay you are an extravagant people

82) And the answer of his people was no other than that they said: turn them out of your town, surely they are a people who seek to purify (themselves)

83) So we delivered him and his followers, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind

84) And we rained upon them a rain; consider then what was the end of the guilty

PICKTHAL:

80) And lot! (remember) when he said unto his folk: will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?

81) Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. nay, but ye are wanton folk.

82) And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): turn them out of your township. they are folk, forsooth, who keep pure.

83) And we rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind.

84) And we rained a rain upon them. see now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!

YUSUFALI:

80) We also (sent) lut: he said to his people: “do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you?

81) “For ye practise your lusts on men in preference to women : ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.”

82) And his people gave no answer but this: they said, “drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!”

83) But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind.

84) And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!

Allah loves (11) the generous

The English Translation of the Arabic word “Moh-se-neen”

The Law of the wines (intoxicants) in the Quran

The Faith and the Two Degrees of “Ihsan”

————————————————————-

In the previous articles, we have seen that Allah loves

(1) the kind good doers,

(2) those who turn to him and those who are Clean and Pure,

(3) those who guard against evil,

(4) those who put their Trust in Him,

5) those who are firm and steadfast,

6) the virtuous,

7) the charitable,

8) judge in equity,

9) those who are just and are not biased and

10) the good doers who keep their Covenant.

In this article, Allah loves those who are generous (Moh-se-neen)

————————————————————-

Verse 5:93 says that Allah loves the generous which do deeds of righteousness, guard themselves from evil and believe in Allah, Prophet Muhammad and follow the Quran.

This verse was revealed before the wines (intoxicants) were made unlawful.

Their wine was made from unripe dates, split unripe dates and dates

Some of the believers died before the law of forbidden the alcoholics.

Then Allah revealed about a group of men from the Emigrants and the Helpers who asked the Prophet Muhammad:

“What shall happen to those of us who died drinking intoxicant drinks before they were made unlawful”,

The verse gave the answer:

There shall be no sin imputed unto those who believe in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran and do good works

That is between them and their Lord

For what they may have eaten in the past

For what they have drunk in the past before intoxicants were made unlawful, whether those who did it are dead or still living.

So be mindful of your duty to Allah, if they warded off disbelief, idolatry and indecencies, and do good works

That is between them and their Lord; and again:

Be mindful of your duty ward off making intoxicants lawful after they were made unlawful;

This address is to the believers who are still living, and believe in the unlawfulness of intoxicant; and once again:

Be mindful of your duty ward off drinking it, and do right leave the drinking of it. Allah loves the good for avoiding drinking intoxicants; this relates to those who were still alive and who drunk intoxicants before they were made unlawful.

Allah loves the generous which do deeds of righteousness, guard themselves from evil and believe in Allah, Prophet Muhammad and follow the Quran.

Allah loves the generous, means that He will reward them.

Herein, the word translated as generous, good or good doer is “Moh-se-neen” in Arabic.

The noun of the word “Moh-se-neen” is “Ihsan”.

One asked the Prophet Muhammad: “what is Ihsan

Muhammad said: to worship Allah as if you see him, if you can not, then worship Allah you see you all the time”!

Hence, “Ihsan” has to degree:

The first degree is that you act as if you see your LORD who creates you.

This is the first class of faith. If your faith could not attain the first degree, then,

The second degree is that you act and know that your LORD who Creates you Sees you all the time.

See in your mind’s eye what if mankind act while they know that their Creator Sees and Hears them all the time!

On the other hand, this deep connotations of the Arabic word “Moh-se-neen”  and “Ihsan” illustrate how poor are their English translations!

————————————————————-

Verse 5:93 in different translations:

QARIB:

no blame shall be attached to those who believe and did good works in regard to any food they have eaten, so long as they ward off (the forbidden) and believe, and do good deeds, then they fear and believe, and again, so long as they fear and do fine deeds. Allah loves the generous.

SHAKIR:

on those who believe and do good there is no blame for what they eat, when they are careful (of their duty) and believe and do good deeds, then they are careful (of their duty) and believe, then they are careful (of their duty) and do good (to others), and Allah loves those who do good (to others)

PICKTHAL:

There shall be no sin (imputed) unto those who believe and do good works for what they may have eaten (in the past). So be mindful of your duty (to Allah), and believe, and do good works; and again: be mindful of your duty, and believe; and once again: be mindful of your duty, and do right. Allah loveth the good.

YUSUFALI:

On those who believe and do deeds of righteousness there is no blame for what they ate (in the past), when they guard themselves from evil, and believe, and do deeds of righteousness,- (or) again, guard themselves from evil and believe,- (or) again, guard themselves from evil and do good. For Allah loveth those who do good.

This is Allah (31) Allah forbids open and hidden adultery

Allah Commands: eat and drink but do not be excessive

Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal

Allah does not love those who are excessive

The Arabs used to forbid foods and clothes during the days of pilgrimage

The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden

Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

———————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:31-33 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal,

2) Allah Commands: eat and drink do not be excessive; He does not love those who are excessive,

3) The Arabs used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage,

4) The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden and

5) Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

The meaning of verse 7:31

O Children of Adam! Don your adornment, that which covers your nakedness, at every place of worship, at prayer and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca, and eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive; He truly does not love those who are excessive.

In other words, eat and drink, but do not be prodigal, do not declare unlawful wholesome foods.

Lo! Allah does not love the prodigals, those who transgress by leaving the lawful and going after the unlawful even in eating and drinking..

This verse puts a golden principle about relationship between the health and food; one can speculate that over-eating is not only a health problem but also it is from Satan who made the Arabs before Islam worshiped Allah while they were NAKED!  See article 33.

The meaning of verse 7:32

Say O Muhammad to the disbelievers: ‘Who has forbidden the wearing of clothes during the days of pilgrimage, in the Sacred Precinct and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca? Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants, in the way of garments, and the good things, the delicious foods, and the good things of Allah’ sustenance and providing?’ For in the pre-Islamic days they used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage, and entered the Sacred Precinct completely naked: the men during the day and the women during the night. Allah made these practices unlawful.

Say: ‘These, on the Day of Resurrection, shall be exclusively for those who believed during the life of this world and the disbelievers will never have anything of that. Thus, in the Quran, We detail the signs, We explain them in such detail, for a people who know’, who reflect, for they are the ones to profit from these [signs].

In other words, all the good things, on the Day of Resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world in Muhammad and the Quran, while both believer and sinner will enjoy them during the life of this world. Allah elucidates the Quran by explaining the lawful and the unlawful for people who have knowledge, for people who believe it is from Allah.

The meaning of verse 7:33

Say) to them, O Muhammad: My Lord forbids only indecencies, grave sins, such as fornication, such of them as are apparent and such as are hidden, that is, the overt ones and the secret ones, and sin, the act of disobedience, and wrongful insolence, against people, namely, oppression, and that you associate with Allah that for which He never revealed any warrant, any definitive proof for such association, and that you say concerning Allah that which you do not know’, in the way of forbidding what He has not forbidden and other things.

In other words, Allah forbids only indecencies, adultery, (such of them as are apparent) open adultery (and such as are within) taking secret lovers, (and sin) intoxicants as the poet said: I sipped sin until my mind erred, Thus indeed does sin take away minds. I openly drank urns of sin, And between us benefiting, you see your goddess; (and wrongful oppression) unlawful overbearingness, (and that you associate with Allah that for which no warrant) no Scripture or proof (hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not) of forbidding crops and cattle, good things and raiment.

———————————————————

Verses 7:31-33in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

31) Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. eat and drink, and do not waste. he does not love the wasteful.

32) Say: ‘who has forbidden the adornment that Allah has brought for his worshipers and the good provision? ‘Say: ‘they are in this life for those who believe, and purely theirs on the day of resurrection. ‘ as such we distinguish the verses to people who know.

33) Say: ‘my lord has forbidden all indecent acts whether apparent or disguised and sin, and unjust insolence, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has never sent down an authority, or to say about Allah what you do not know. ‘

SHAKIR:

31) O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely he does not love the extravagant

32) Say: who has prohibited the embellishment of Allah which he has brought forth for his servants and the good provisions? say: these are for the believers in the life of this world, purely (theirs) on the resurrection day; thus do we make the communications clear for a people who know

33) Say: my lord has only prohibited indecencies, those of them that are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has not sent down any authority, and that you say against Allah what you do not know

PICKTHAL:

31) O children of Adam! look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. lo! he loveth not the prodigals.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the adornment of Allah which he hath brought forth for his bondmen, and the good things of his providing? say: such, on the day of resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world. thus do we detail our revelations for people who have knowledge.

33) Say: my lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.

YUSUFALI:

31) O children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which he hath produced for his servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which he hath provided) for sustenance? say: they are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the day of judgment. thus do we explain the signs in detail for those who understand.

33) Say: the things that my lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which he hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (112) Arabs, Jews and Christians

The unbelievers among the Arabs said that they do not believe in the Scriptures revealed upon the Jews and the Christians and they are unaware of what the Jews and the Christians read of the Torah and the Gospel since it is not in their own language.

——————————————————————————————————

In the previous article, Allah gave the Torah unto Moses.

In the genuine Torah, there was an explanation of all things needed for religion and describing the lawful and the unlawful. it was complete with command and prohibitions, promises and threats, reward and punishment for him who would do good acts and who follows the excellence of Moses and the conveyance of the message of his Lord,

The unbelievers among the Arabs used to say that they do not believe in the Scriptures revealed upon the Jews and the Christians because they could not understand such Scriptures and they are not familiar with its language.

Ayah 6:155 says:

And this Quran which we have revealed and we have sent Gabriel with, is a blessed book, it comprises mercy and forgiveness for the person who believes it

So follow it,

Follow its lawful and unlawful,

Follow its command s and prohibitions

Follow it, by implementing what is in it,

And be wary, of disbelief, that perhaps you might find mercy on the Day of Judgment.

And ward off evil; ward off other than it, that you may find mercy and not be tormented in the Afterlie.

Ayah 6:156 says:

Allah has revealed the Quran, so that you will not say, O people of Mecca, on the Day of Judgement:

‘The Scripture was revealed only upon two parties, the Jews and the Christians, before us and we indeed have been unacquainted with their study; we are unaware and ignorant of what the Jews and the Christians read of the Torah and the Gospel since it is not in our own language.

SHAKIR:

155) and this is a book we have revealed, blessed; therefore follow it and guard (against evil) that mercy may be shown to you

156) lest you say that the book was only revealed to two parties before us and we were truly unaware of what they read

PICKTHAL:

155) and this is a blessed scripture which we have revealed. so follow it and ward off (evil), that ye may find mercy.

156) lest ye should say: the scripture was revealed only to two sects before us, and we in sooth were unaware of what they read;

YUSUFALI:

155) and this is a book which we have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy:

156) lest ye should say: “the book was sent down to two peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned by assiduous study:”

The meanings of verse 5:87 of the Noble Quran:

Verse 5:87 says:

O you who believe! Do not forbid the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you.

The background of Verse 5:87 has a background

When a number of Companions resolved to practice fasting and night vigil continuously, and to abstain from women, perfume, consumption of meat, and sleeping on beds, the following was revealed: O you who believe, do not forbid the good things that God has made lawful for you and do not transgress, do not exceed God’s command; God does not love transgressors.

In other words,

This verse was revealed about ten Companions of the Prophet

These Companions vowed that:

1) They would not eat or drink except that which was enough to keep them alive,

2) They would not have sex with their wives,

3) They would never eat meat or fat and

4) They would cut off their male organs.

But Allah forbade them from such acts, and revealed about them:

Do not forbid the lawful things that Allah has permitted such as foods, drinks and having sex with your wives and

Do not transgress by cutting off your male organs.

Lo! Allah does not love the transgressors who

Move from the lawful to the unlawful by mutilating themselves and who exceed the limits.

This verse indicates that Allah recommends the normal and natural ways of life in respect to eating, drink, sleeping, having sex etc.

And Allah forbids any deviation of such ways of life, like abstaining from women for example.

SHAKIR:

O you who believe! do not forbid (yourselves) the good things which Allah has made lawful for you and do not exceed the limits; surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits

PICKTHAL:

O ye who believe! Forbid not the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, and transgress not, lo! Allah loveth not transgressors.

YUSUFALI:

o ye who believe! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess: for Allah loveth not those given to excess.

Allah does not love (10) the impious and guilty

Allah permits trading and forbids usury

The Devil statement: Trade is like usury

Allah deprives usury and makes the alms giving fruitful

In the previous articles, we have seen that Allah does not love those:

8) those that do wrong and

9) the unjust.

The meanings of verses 2:275-276 of the Noble Quran:

Verse 2:275 says:

Allah then mentioned the punishment of consuming usury, saying:

Those who swallow usury) declaring it to be lawful (cannot rise up) from their graves on the Day of Judgment save as they arise) in the life of this world (whom the Devil has prostrated, confounded by his touch of insanity.

In other word, those who devour, that is, those who seize by way of, usury, which is an excess [levied] in transactions of money or foodstuffs either on their value or on credit, shall not rise again, from their graves, except, rising, as one whom Satan has made prostrate, demented, from touch, [through] madness; that, which befalls them, is because, of the fact that, they say, ‘Trade is like usury’, and ‘usury is like trade’

Increase at the end of selling, once the term is due, is like the increase at the beginning of a transaction when the sale is deferred; whereas Allah permitted trading and forbade usury.

God responds to them saying that: God has permitted trade, and forbidden usury. Whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists, from devouring it, he shall have his past gains, those made before the prohibition and which cannot be reclaimed from him, and his affair, with regard to pardoning him, is committed to God; but whoever reverts, to devouring it, treating it like trade in terms of lawfulness — those are the inhabitants of the Fire, abiding therein.

As for him who returned to usury, after usury has been made forbidden and says trade is just like usury, they certainly are the dwellers of Hell, they will abide therein.

Verse 2:276 says:

Allah effaces usury, diminishing it and eliminating any blessing in it,

i.e., He has wiped it out and removed its blessedness in the life of this world and in the Hereafter

But He augments voluntary almsgivings with interest, increasing them, making them grow and multiplying their reward many times at the Day of Judgment.

Allah does not love the impious and guilty, that is to say, He will requite, any guilty, profligate devouring it, ingrate, who deems usury licit and denies the unlawfulness of usury and consumes it.

——————————————-

Verses 2:275-276 in different translations

QARIB:

275) Those who consume usury shall not rise up (from their tomb) except as he who rises in madness that Satan has touched. That is because they say: ‘selling is like usury. ‘Allah has permitted trading and forbidden usury. To whomsoever an exhortation comes from his lord then he desists, he shall have his past gains, and his matter is with Allah. But whoever reverts shall be among the people of the fire and shall remain in it for ever.

276) Allah effaces usury and nurtures charity. Allah does not love any ungrateful sinner.

SHAKIR:

275) Those who swallow down usury cannot arise except as one whom Satan has prostrated by (his) touch does rise. That is because they say, trading is only like usury; and Allah has allowed trading and forbidden usury. to whomsoever then the admonition has come from his lord, then he desists, he shall have what has already passed, and his affair is in the hands of Allah; and whoever returns (to it)– these arc the inmates of the fire; they shall abide in it.

276) Allah does not bless usury, and he causes charitable deeds to prosper, and Allah does not love any ungrateful sinner.

PICKTHAL:

275) Those who swallow usury cannot rise up save as he ariseth whom the devil hath prostrated by (his) touch. That is because they say: trade is just like usury; whereas Allah permitteth trading and forbiddeth usury. He unto whom an admonition from his lord cometh, and (he) refraineth (in obedience thereto), he shall keep (the profits of) that which is past, and his affair (henceforth) is with Allah. as for him who returneth (to usury) – such are rightful owners of the fire. They will abide therein.

 276) Allah hath blighted usury and made almsgiving fruitful. Allah loveth not the impious and guilty.

YUSUFALI:

275) Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the evil one by his touch hath driven to madness. That is because they say: “trade is like usury,” but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (the offense) are companions of the fire: they will abide therein (for ever).

276) Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity: for he loveth not creatures ungrateful and wicked.
