Chapter 6 of the Quran (27) Crucial Historical Events

Allah command ed His Last Prophet Muhammad to remind them with some crucial historical events. Had they been humble and believed when Allah’s punishment came on them? No and Satan adorned for them what they were doing.

—————————————————————————————————-

In the preceding article, Allah command ed His Last Prophet Muhammad to say to the disbelievers: Have you thought about your outcome when Allah’s chastisement comes upon you in the life of this world and /or at the Day of Judgment?

Also, Allah command ed Muhammad to remind them with some crucial historical events.

Allah has sent messengers to the nations before but the people denied them,

And Allah seized them with misery, pain, hunger and hardship, illness, tribulation, affliction etc. in order that they may believe and pray that Allah lift the punishment from them and they were saved.

Ayah 43 continues:

If only, when Allah’s punishment came on them, they had been humble and believed! But their hearts were hard, and would not yield to faith, and Satan adorned for them what they were doing, in the way of disobedient acts, and so they persisted in them.

It was the job of the Prophet Muhammad to remind them that:

Allah has sent His Prophet Noah but most of his people belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Hud but most of his people belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Saleh but most of his people belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Lot but most of his people belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Shu’aib but most of his people belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Moses but the Egyptians belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet David but the Israelites belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Solomon but the Israelites belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Jesus but the Israelites belied him.

Allah has sent His Prophet Muhammad but the people of Mecca belied him.

Then what happened to the deniers of those Prophets? Allah’s punishment came on them in the life of this world.

Had they been humble and believed when Allah’s punishment came on them? No and Satan adorned for them what they were doing.

What happened to them? They have been severly destroyed!

What else is waiting for them? The severe Eternal Punishment in the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife.

What is their conclusion? They lost the life of this world and the Afterlife; and this is the outcome of those who deny Muhammad and the Quran!

The verse 6:43 in different translations

QARIB:

If only they humbled themselves when our scourge overtook them! but their hearts were hardened, and satan decorated to them what they were doing.

SHAKIR:

Yet why did they not, when our punishment came to them, humble themselves? but their hearts hardened and the shaitan made what they did fair-seeming to them.

PICKTHAL:

If only, when our disaster came on them, they had been humble! but their hearts were hardened and the devil made all that they used to do seem fair unto them!

YUSUFALI:

When the suffering reached them from us, why then did they not learn humility? on the contrary their hearts became hardened, and satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (26) when Allah seized the ancient deniers

The Quran says that Allah sent messengers to the communities before you O Muhammad, but they denied them. Allah seized them with affliction and hardship, when they did not believe so that they might believe and be saved.

—————————————————————————————————-

In the preceding article, Allah instructed His Prophet Muhammad to say to the unbelievers:

Have you thought about your ending when Allah’s punishment comes upon you in the life of this world and /or at the Day of Judgment?

Do you then call for help to any other than Allah to lift the torment from you?

They would have no answer.

However, the Quran tells them what they will say at the Day of Judgment Allah’s punishment come upon them.

Ayah 41 says:

Nay; they will not call anyone except Allah to lift the torment from them.

They will leave and forget wver partners they ascribed unto Him; they will leave and forget the idols or any partners they associate with Him and do not call unto them. They will call none but Allah to remove from them such things as punishment, suffering etc.

Ayah 42 says:

Indeed Allah sent to communities before you O Muhammad messengers, but they denied them,

Allah has sent already unto peoples that were before you O Muhammad just as Allah has sent you to your people

And Allah seized them with misery, abject poverty, pain, hunger and hardship, illness,

Allah seized them with tribulation, affliction and hardship, when they did not believe so that they might be humble, abased, that they might believe; in order that they may believe and pray that Allah lift the punishment from them and they were saved.

The verse 6:41-42 in different translations

QARIB:

41) No, on him alone you will call, and he will remove that for which you call upon him, if he will. then you will forget what you associate (with him).

42) Before you we sent forth to other nations, and then seized them with misery and hardship so that they might humble themselves.

SHAKIR:

41) Nay, him you call upon, so he clears away that for which you pray if he pleases and you forget what you set up (with him)

42) And certainly we sent (messengers) to nations before you then we seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves

PICKTHAL:

41) Nay, but unto him ye call, and he removeth that because of which ye call unto him, if he will, and ye forget wver partners ye ascribed unto him.

42) We have sent already unto peoples that were before thee, and we visited them with tribulation and adversity, in order that they might grow humble.

YUSUFALI:

41) “Nay,- on him would ye call, and if it be his will, he would remove (the distress) which occasioned your call upon him, and ye would forget (the false gods) which ye join with him!”

42) Before thee we sent (messengers) to many nations, and we afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity, that they might learn humility.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (25) who can help the Deniers?

The Quran says that those who deny Muhammad and the Quran were deaf, dumb and in darkness. They have to think about their outcome. Who can help to lift Allah’s torment from them?

—————————————————————————————————–

Ayah 6:39: Those who deny Muhammad and the Quran were deaf, dumb and in darkness; it says:

And those who deny our revelations i.e. deny Muhammad and the Quran were deaf, to hearing them in such a way so as to accept it.

It is also said that this means: they pretend not to hear the Truth. They were also dumb, unable to utter truth; they pretend to be dumb in relation to the Truth. They were in the darkness of their unbelief.

He whom Allah wills, to send astray, He sends astray, He makes him die in a state of disbelief and ,

He whom Allah wills, to guide, He sets him on a straight path, a straight road, that is the religion of Islam. He makes him die on the straight path which He is pleased with.

Ayah 6:40: Think about your outcome. Who can help you to lift the torment from you? The verse says:

Say to them O Muhammad: have you thought about your outcome when Allah’s chastisement comes upon you in:

  • The life of this world, or
  • (Comes suddenly in) the Hour,
  • (Comes quickly at) the Day of Judgment?

Do you then call for help to any other than Allah to lift the torment from you?

Answer that if you were truthful that the idols were His partners. If you speak truly that the idols can benefit you, then call upon them.

—————————————————

The verse 6:39-40 in different translations

QARIB:

39) Those who belie our verses were deaf and dumb, in darkness. Allah leaves in error whom he will, and guides to the straight path whom he pleases.

40) Say: ‘do you see yourselves when the punishment of Allah smites you or the hour overtakes you, will you call on any except Allah, if you were truthful?

SHAKIR:

39) And they who reject our communications were deaf and dumb, in utter darkness; whom Allah pleases he causes to err and whom he pleases he puts on the right way.

40) Say: tell me if the chastisement of Allah should overtake you or the hour should come upon you, will you call (on others) besides Allah, if you were truthful?

PICKTHAL:

39) Those who deny our revelations were deaf and dumb in darkness. whom Allah will sendeth astray, and whom he will he placeth on a straight path.

40) Say: can ye see yourselves, if the punishment of Allah comes upon you or the hour come upon you, (calling upon other than Allah)? do ye then call (for help) to any other than Allah? (answer that) if ye were truthful.

YUSUFALI:

39) Those who reject our signs were deaf and dumb,- in the midst of darkness profound: whom Allah willeth, he leaveth to wand er: whom he willeth, he placeth on the way that is straight.

40) Say: “think ye to yourselves, if there come upon you the wrath of Allah, or the hour (that ye dread), would ye then call upon other than Allah?- (reply) if ye were truthful!

Chapter 6 of the Quran (24) Animals and Birds are Nations like us

The Quran says: there is no animal, that crawls, on the earth and no flying creature flying on two wings between the earth and sky, but they were nations, tribes, communities and groups like to mankind.

—————————————————————————————————–

In Ayah 6:38:  Animals and birds were nations like humans; it says:

There is no animal, that crawls, on the earth and no flying creature flying on two wings between the earth and sky, but they were nations, tribes, communities and groups like to mankind.

Animals and birds were nations like humans in many ways as for example in the way that its creation has been ordained, together with its sustenance and affairs.

Animals and birds resemble humans in eating, copulation, understand ing one another, just as you understand one another: this is a sign for you.

Verily, Allah has neglected nothing in the Book, in the Preserved Tablet that Allah has written.

Allah has neglected nothing that He has inscribed in the Preserved Tablet.

And , Allah has mentioned everything in the Quran.

Then to their Lord they shall be gathered, and judgement shall be passed upon them, and the hornless sheep shall retaliate against the horned ram, and then it will be said to them and to all the animals: ‘Be dust’.

In other words, unto Allah, the birds and beasts will be gathered with all other created beings on the Day of Judgement.

Herein, it is interested that the Quran says to the unbelievers who were mocking of Muhammad and requested a sign from him. The Quran says to them:

Look around you, look at the earth, and look at the sky.

All what you have seen around you were nations like human beings. Wake up.

  • The dogs were nations, tribes and groups like you.
  • The cats were nations, tribes and groups like you.
  • The horses were nations, tribes and groups like you.
  • The donkeys were nations, tribes and groups like you.
  • The monkeys were nations, tribes and groups like you.
  • The frogs were nations, tribes and groups like you etc.
  • Also, the birds were nations, tribes and groups like you.

All the kingdom of animals and birds were like you socially, physically and physiologically, so, wake up and do not be proud of yourself and arrogant.

—————————————————

The verse 6:38 in different translations

QARIB:

There is no crawling creature on the earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but they were nations like you. We have neglected nothing in the book. they shall all be gathered before their lord.

SHAKIR:

And there is no animal that walks upon the earth nor a bird that flies with its two wings but (they were) genera like yourselves; we have not neglected anything in the book, then to their lord shall they be gathered.

PICKTHAL:

There is not an animal in the earth, nor a flying creature flying on two wings, but they were peoples like unto you. We have neglected nothing in the book (of our decrees). Then unto their lord they will be gathered.

YUSUFALI:

There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their lord in the end.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (13) When Mankind Gathered and Questioned

On the Day Allah will gather mankind and shall say to those who associated other gods with Him: “Now, where were those partners that you worshipped and claimed they would intercede for you”? They will lie and hence, have prescribed upon themselves the punishment of their lies beside…..

————————————————————————————-

Ayah 6:22, All mankind will be gathered and questioned on the Day

And on the Day Allah gather them together, all mankind on the Day of Judgement.

Allah shall say, in rebuke, to those who associated other gods with Allah, to those who ascribed partners (like son, daughter, Angels, idols etc.) unto Him:

Now, where were those partners that you worshipped and claimed they would intercede for you?

Ayah 6:23, They will lie

Then their dissension, their apology was only to say: ‘By God, we were never ascribed partners unto our Lord.

In othe words, they will they have no contention, excuse or answer save that they will say: By Allah, our Lord, we never ascribed partners.

Ayah 6:24, They have prescribed upon themselves the punishment of their lies.

Then Allah, exalted be He, says:

See, O Muhammad, how they lie against themselves, by denying what they used to worship instead of Allah.

And see, O Muhammad, how has failed that which they were forging against Allah. See how become void what they invented and what they falsely worshipped

And see, how they have prescribed upon themselves the punishment of their lies beside the chastisement of their ascribing partners (like son, daughter, Angels, idols etc.) unto Allah, the Supreme Creator.

—————————————————

The verse 6:22-24 in different translations

QARIB:

22) On the day when we gather them all together we shall say to the idolaters: ‘where were your partners now, those whom you claimed? ‘

23) Then it was not their trial, but they will say: ‘by Allah, our lord we have never been idolaters. ‘

24) Look how they lie against themselves, and how that which they were forging has gone astray from them!

SHAKIR:

22) And on the day when we shall gather them all together, then shall we say to those who associated others (with Allah): where were your associates whom you asserted?

23) Then their excuse would be nothing but that they would say: by Allah, our lord, we were not polytheists

24) See how they lie against their own souls, and that which they forged has passed away from them

PICKTHAL:

22) And on the day we gather them together we shall say unto those who ascribed partners (unto Allah): where were (now) those partners of your make-believe?

23) Then will they have no contention save that they will say: by Allah, our lord, we never were idolaters.

24) See how they lie against themselves, and (how) the thing which they devised hath failed them!

YUSUFALI:

22) one day shall we gather them all together: we shall say to those who ascribed partners (to us): “where were the partners whom ye (invented and) talked about?”

23) There will then be (left) no subterfuge for them but to say: “by Allah our lord, we were not those who joined gods with Allah.”

24) Behold! How they lie against their own souls! but the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (9) who is Loser and who is Winner?

Why Muhammad said: What if I rebel against Allah, my Creator, what if I worship other than Allah and I would be reverting back to your religion? And who is the loser and who is the winner.

————————————————————————————-

In Ayah 6:15-16, Muhammad said: What if I rebel against Allah, my Creator, what if I worship other than Allah and I would be reverting back to your religion? Why He said that?

Because he unbelievers of Mecca went to the Prophet Muhammad and said unto him: “O Muhammad, revert to our religion (Idolaters) and we shall make you rich, marry you, give you status and make you king over us”.

Then, Allah command hateed the Prophet Muhammad to announce who is the loser and who is the winner.

Say to them O Muhammad:

I fear and I know the outcome

  • if I rebel against my Lord,
  • if I worship other than Him and
  • if I would be reverting back to your religion,

I fear the retribution of an Awful Day

I would face then a tremendous torment on an Awful Day; It is also said that this means: I would be facing torment on an Awful Day. And this is the manifest Loser.

In other word, Say O Muhammad: ‘Indeed I fear, if I should rebel against my Lord, by worshipping other than Him, the chastisement of a dreadful day’, namely, the Day of Resurrection.

He from whom such retribution is averted on that day, the Day of Judgement truly Allah had mercy on him; Allah had preserved and forgiven him.

That forgiveness will be the signal triumph of man’s great salvation because Allah would have desired good for him; that is really the manifest triumph and the evident salvation. And this is the manifest Winner.

—————————————————

The verse 6:15-16 in different translations

QARIB:

15) say: ‘indeed i fear, if i should disobey my lord, the punishment of a great day. ‘

16) from whomsoever it is averted on that day, he will have mercy on him; that is a clear triumph.

SHAKIR:

15) say: surely i fear, if i disobey my lord, the chastisement of a grievous day

16) he from whom it is averted on that day, Allah indeed has shown mercy to him; and this is a manifest achievement

PICKTHAL:

15) say: i fear, if i rebel against my lord, the retribution of an awful day.

16) he from whom (such retribution) is averted on that day, (Allah) hath in truth had mercy on him. that will be the signal triumph.

YUSUFALI:

15) say: “i would, if i disobeyed my lord, indeed have fear of the penalty of a mighty day.

16) “on that day, if the penalty is averted from any, it is due to Allah’s mercy; and that would be (salvation), the obvious fulfilment of all desire.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (7) Trial to Bribe Muhammad

The disbeliever of Mecca tried to bribe Muhammad to stop proclaiming Islam and becomes idolater like them; they said to him: “O Muhammad, revert to our religion (i.e. become idolater like them) and we shall make you rich, marry you, give you status and make you king over us”.

————————————————————————————-

Ayah 6:12, Allah has prescribed for Himself mercy as a bounty

Say O Muhammad, to the disbelievers:

Unto whom belonge whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth of created beings?

If they answer you, fine;

If not, Say: Unto Allah belongs the creation of the heavens and the earth.

Unto Allah belongs everything; He has prescribed for Himself mercy as a bounty from Him for the believers in deferring His punishment.

Allah will bring all human beings together to the Day of Judgement whereof there is no doubt.

In other word, Allah will surely gather you together on the Day of Resurrection of which there is no doubt, no uncertainty, in order to requite you for your deeds.

Those who ruin their own souls and will not believe in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran were the losers; they lost their dwellings, servants and spouses in Paradise.

In other words, the disbelievers have forfeited their own souls by exposing them to the chastisement and by preventing them from entering Paradise.

Ayah 6:13, The disbeliever of Mecca tried to bribe Muhammad to stop proclaiming Islam and becomes idolater like them.

Thereafter, the disbelievers of Mecca went to the Messenger Muhammad and said to him: ‘O Muhammad, we know that it is need that drives you to that which you were inviting us. We will therefore give you part of our wealth so that you become the richest man amongst us, on condition that you aband hateon this matter,

“O Muhammad, revert to our religion (idols) and we shall make you rich, marry you, give you status and make you king over us”.

And then this verse (6:13) was revealed”. It says:

And to Allah belongs whatsoever and everything present or rest in the night and the day. He is the Hewerer of what is said, the Knower of what is done and of the provisions of all created beings.

—————————————————–

The verses 6:12-13 in different translations

QARIB:

12) Say: ‘to whom belongs that which is in the heavens and the earth? ‘Say: ‘to Allah. he has written for himself mercy, and will gather you on the day of resurrection in which there is no doubt. Those who have lost their souls, they do not believe. ‘

13) His is whatever is at rest in the night and in the day. he is the hearing, the knowing.

SHAKIR:

12) Say: to whom belongs what is in the heavens and the earth? say: to Allah; he has ordained mercy on himself; most certainly he will gather you on the resurrection day– there is no doubt about it. (as for) those who have lost their souls, they will not believe

13) And to him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the day; and he is the hearing, the knowing

PICKTHAL:

12) Say: unto whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth? say: unto Allah. he hath prescribed for himself mercy, that he may bring you all together to the day of resurrection whereof there is no doubt. Those who ruin their souls will not believe.

13) Unto him belongeth whatsoever resteth in the night and the day. he is the hewerer, the knower.

YUSUFALI:

12) Say: “to whom belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth?” say: “to Allah. He hath inscribed for himself (the rule of) mercy. That he will gather you together for the Day of Judgment, there is no doubt whatever. It is they who have lost their own souls that will not believe.

13) To him belongeth all that dwelleth (or lurketh) in the night and the day. For he is the one who hewereth and knoweth all things
