Death in Quran (4) story of man’s existence

In one short verse, the Noble Quran analyses the whole story of man’s existence on this earth. It begins, by the will of Allah, with a state of death and ends with death, after which Allah will restore life again, and the ultimate return thereafter shall be to Him from whom life originated.

————————————–

How do you, disbelieve in Allah, in which state are you veiled from Him, when…

When you were dead, and He gave life to you

Why do you not see the proof of the Creator in His creation?

Then He will give you death after your term of life is completed and your lifespan ends,

Then He shall give life to you again, at the Resurrection, and then unto Him you will be returned! Whereupon He shall requite you according to your deeds

How can ye reject the faith in Allah?

The mysteries of life and death are in Allah’s hands.

When you die on this earth that is not the end.  You were of Him, and you must return to Him.

Look around you and realize your own dignity; it is from Him.

Giving Life after Death

The verse 2:28 addresses all humankind, denouncing their disbelief in Allah who gives life and takes it away,

“How can you reject Allah who has given you life after you were dead? He will cause you to die again then He will bring you back to life. To Him you shall return.

Denial or rejection of Allah after seeing all these manifest signs is certainly despicable and utterly unjustifiable. The Quran here faces humankind directly with facts they cannot deny or question. It refers to their life and the phases of human existence.

Allah brought man out of a state of death and gave him life. This transformation is a fact that cannot be ignored or denied, and can only be explained by acknowledging the creative power of Allah.

Life is not an illusion, but how has it come about?

Who has initiated this unique phenomenon we call life, which distinguishes the living from the dead in this world?

Life represents an extraordinary dimension that is the complete antithesis of death, but where does it originate?

Humankind has to face this question and answer it in a way that will satisfy man’s curiosity and put his heart and mind at rest. It is simply not enough to dismiss it or attribute life to anything other than a creative power that is itself very different from creation.

The immediate answer to this question is that life comes from Allah. Let those who dispute this come up with another answer.

The verse questions man’s denial of, and disbelief in, Allah “who has given you life after you were dead”.

How impertinent of man to reject Allah, the origin and the cause of life. It affirms that Allah “will cause you to die again”, a fact that is beyond dispute and of which we are constantly reminded.

It adds that “Allah will bring you back to life’’, which has been, and still is today, a matter for endless argument and debate. Yet, if people would only reflect on how man came to be in the first instance, there would be no reason for bewilderment or rejection of life after death.

“And to Him you shall return.” As it was from Him you have come, to Him you shall return, in total fulfilment of His will and purpose.

Thus, in one short verse, the whole book of life is opened and. closed. The whole story of man’s existence on this earth is reviewed. It begins, by the will of Allah, with a state of death and ends with death, after which Allah will restore life again, and the ultimate return thereafter shall be to Him from whom life originated. In this brief picture, we can visualize Allah’s awesome power and appreciate its deep impact on our hearts and minds.

The verses 2:28 in different translations:

QARIB:

How can you disbelieve Allah? Did he not give you life when you were dead, and he will cause you to die and then restore you to life? Then you will return to him.

SHAKIR:

How do you deny Allah and you were dead and he gave you life? Again, he will cause you to die and again bring you to life, then you shall be brought back to him

PICKTHAL:

How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and he gave life to you! Then he will give you death, then life again, and then unto him ye will return.

YUSUFALI:

How can ye reject the faith in Allah?- seeing that ye were without life, and he gave you life; then will he cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to him will ye return.

Atheists in Quran (52) their Label

The most important issue is the fate of those who are unbelievers until death overtakes them. They are Labeled with this label, “Allah will not forgive them”

———————————————–

The extremely dangerous threat

Allah will not forgive them

The verse 47:34 talks about those unbelievers who ban other people from Allah’s path and are hostile to the Prophet Muhammad despite the truth of his message.

Herein, the unbelievers fit the description of bearing arrogant hostility towards the religion of Islam.

This discourse may refer too to all those who adopt such a hostile attitude including the Jews and the hypocrites.

In this light, the present verse is a warning to them, should they adopt such an attitude towards the religion of Islam both in public and/or in private.

The most important issue is the fate of those who are unbelievers until death overtakes them.

They won this certificate and are labeled with this label:

“They shall not be granted forgiveness by Allah”

The chance to ensure forgiveness of sins is available only in the life of this world.

The gates of repentance, which ensure forgiveness, are open for both unbelievers and sinners up to the moment of death.

When the soul is at the point of departing the body, at the moment of death, then the chance to repent and earn forgiveness is lost and can never ever be regained.

The verse warns the unbelievers to take the right action before it is too late to repent.

The verse warns the unbelievers to take the right action and turn back to Allah before the chance is lost and the doors are closed.

Again,

Those who are unbelievers and bar from Allah’s path, namely, guidance, and then die as unbelievers, Allah will never forgive them

Those who are unbelievers and block from Allah’s guidance, and then die as unbelievers, Allah will never forgive them

Those who disbelieve in Muhammad and the Quran; and turn away people from the religion of Allah and then die as disbelievers in Allah and His Messenger, Allah surely will not forgive them.

What the meaning is of: “Allah will not forgive them”

Allah will not forgive them = dwelling in Eternal Hell and if the dwellers ask for help, the help they get = increase the unbearable doom

———————————————–

The verse 47:34 in different translations:

QARIB:

As for those who disbelieve and bar (others) from the path of Allah and then die as unbelievers? Allah will not forgive them.

SHAKIR:

Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah’s way, then they die while they are unbelievers, Allah will by no means forgive them

PICKTHAL:

Lo! Those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and then die disbelievers, Allah surely will not pardon them.

YUSUFALI:

Those who reject Allah, and hinder (men) from the path of Allah, then die rejecting Allah,- Allah will not forgive them.

Atheists in Quran (24) they said: Noah is maniac

Do the Atheists know? 1) Who is the first ever professor of how to build a ship? The great Angel Gabriel, 2) who is the first ever shipbuilder among humankind? The great Prophet Noah and 3) what is the flood? It is = Allah’s Will cleared the road of obstacles so that human life could continue its march along the road assigned to it. However, the Atheists who are not aware of that said: Noah is maniac.

———————————

In the first article of this series [Atheists in Quran (1) Noah and the Atheists] we have seen that,

Allah sent Noah to his people to tell them:

  • My people, you have no other god save Allah
  • My people, profess Allah’s divine Oneness, and worship and obey him.
  • Will you not then fear His punishment in worshipping gods other than Him?

However, the chieftains Atheists among his folk, said to their followers:

We never heard of such, an affirmation of God’s Oneness as that which Noah summons us, among our ancestors or among past communities.

Then what happened?

The verses 23: 23:25-27 say:

The chieftains Atheists among Noah’s folk, said to their followers:

Noah is just a man possessed by madness, a case of dementia.

So wait and bear with him for a while until he dies.

The Atheists are incapable of understanding that they are imprisoned within their narrow walls, unable to break into the wide universe! They accuse those who advocate freedom of thought of being mad, calling on them to think and reflect.

When they are reminded of the pointers to the truth all around them, their reply is full of arrogance, reiterating accusations: “He is but a madman; so bear with him for a while.”

Bear with him until he dies when we will be relieved of him, his message and his persistent advocacy of faith.

At this moment, Noah could not find any way by which he could soften such stonehearted people. He could only protect himself against their ridicule by putting his complaint to God and seeking His support

In his supplication to Allah, Noah, said,

‘O My Lord, my people denied me and called me a liar, so please help me against them. Help me through sending a punishment upon them’

Allah, exalted be He, says, responding to his supplication:

Then We inspired in him, We sent Gabriel to him saying:

Make the ship, start building a ship Our gaze and through that which We inspired you.

Build the Ark, the ship, under Our watch, under Our observation and protection, and by Our revelation, Our command

Then, when Our command and Our punishment comes and the water gushes out of the oven introduce therein and transport in the ship two spouses of every kind: a male and a female

When the oven, of the baker, gushes, with water — and this was Noah’s sign— bring into it, admit into the ship, of every kind [of animal] two mates, a male and a female and

Take those of your household who believe in you save him thereof against whom the Word that he will be punished has already gone forth.

It is said that all those who were on the ship numbered eighty, half of them were men and half were women.

Moreover, do not plead with Me (by means of supplications) on behalf of those who have done wrong

This means do not plead with Allah to save those who disbelieved among your people

Lo! The unbelievers will be drowned in the flood.

It was Allah’s Will that the road should be cleared of obstacles so that human life could continue its march along the road assigned to it.

Nevertheless, what about the command of “do not plead with Allah to save those who disbelieved among your people?”

See the next article.

———————————

The verses 23:25-27 in different translations:

QARIB:

25- He is nothing else except a man who is mad, so watch him for awhile.

26- He (Noah) said: ‘Lord, help me, for they belie me. ‘

27- We said to him: ‘make the ark under our eye, and our revelation, and then when our command comes and the oven gushes water, take onboard a pair from every kind and your family, except him against whom the decision has already been passed. do not address me concerning those who have done evil; they shall be drowned.

SHAKIR:

25- He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time

26- He said: o my Lord! Help me against their calling me a liar

27- So we revealed to him, saying: make the ark before our eyes and (according to) our revelation; and when our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned

PICKTHAL:

25- He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while.

26- He said: my Lord! Help me because they deny me.

27- Then we inspired in him, saying: make the ship under our eyes and our inspiration. then, when our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the word hath already gone forth. and plead not with me on behalf of those who have done wrong. lo! they will be drowned.

YUSUFALI:

25- (And some said): “he is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time.”

26- (Noah) said: “o my Lord! Help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!”

27- So we inspired him (with this message): “construct the ark within our sight and under our guidance: then when comes our command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the word has already gone forth: and address me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the flood).

Atheists in Quran (13) their works = Ashes Blowing in the Wind

The Atheists’ works are like ashes over which the wind blows hard on a tempestuous day, over which none can have power and they shall find no reward for it due to their nonbelief.

———————————

Not all the Atheists are evil doers.

Some if not many of them do righteous works in the life of this world.

The Atheists may do moral works such as:

  • Kindness to kin,
  • Act of charity,
  • Helping the poor and the needy,
  • Compassion to the neighbors,
  • Etc.

Allah very much encourages these works and He promised to give very good rewards for these honorable works.

Allah’s rewards for such conducts are beyond our dreams because Allah is the best ever Kind.

However, Allah’s rewards are only for the believers.

It is very unwise to expect a reward from the one you do not believe in Him.

The verses 14:18-20 of the Quran give the likeness and the description of the good Atheists’ works and their grievous loss in the Afterlife.

The parable of the Atheists’ works

The Atheists’ works are like ashes; the ashes are blowing about hither and thither by the wind.

The wind, which blows on them, is not an ordinary wind,

The day on which the wind blows is not an ordinary calm day.

A furious windstorm is blowing, for such is the Wrath of Allah.

They have neither internal peace nor external gain.

In the scattering of the ashes, they lose control even of such things as they might have earned but for their misbelief.

All their wishes to get rewarded go astray.

They are carried far away, from what was in their minds. What did they aim at, and what did they achieve?

No power have they over aught that they have earned:

That is the straying far, far from the goal.

Their works are just as one will not find ashes when the wind blows hard on it in the way that no rewards are resulting from such works.

“The works of those who disbelieve in their Lord are like ashes which the wind blows about fiercely on a stormy day. They cannot achieve any benefit from all that they might have earned. This [disbelief] is indeed going very far astray.”

Again, Atheists’ works are as ashes over which the wind blows hard on a tempestuous day, one in which the winds blow violently, making them as scattered dust, over which none can have power and they shall find no reward for it.

  • That is the extreme error, which is far remote from the Truth or guidance.
  • That is the extreme failure
  • That is the extreme loss

Then have a look on how Allah, the Merciful, talk to them before it is too late for them.

Have not the Atheists seen that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth?

If He will, He can take you away, O humankind, and bring [about] a new creation, in your place.

O Atheists If Allah will, He can

  • remove you, or
  • destroy you, or
  • make you die,

In addition, He can bring in some new creation and will create other beings who are better than you are and more obedient to Allah.

That is no great matter for Allah

That is not very difficult for Allah;

Allah says:

It is not very difficult for Allah to terminate you and create different beings.

———————————

The perfect harmony of Quranic style

The image of Ashes Blowing about on a stormy day adds action to the concept that the Atheists’ workswill come to nothing.

People cannot hold on to any part of their actions, or make use of them. This image gives a far more profound effect than any expression of the same meaning of total loss in intellectual terms.

This scene expresses a basic truth about what the Atheists do.

Then the verses talk about the creation of Heavens and Earth before threatening the Atheists with Allah’s ability to replace them with a new creation.

This switch from the loss of the good Atheists’ work due to lack of faith and disbelief to a picture of the heavens and the earth is very natural in the Quran.

It is also natural in human feelings and perceptions.

This is a further indication of the divine source of the Quran.

There is a secret but intelligible discourse between man and the universe.

Human nature responds instinctively to this secret communication once it tunes in to it and receives its signals.

Those who do not notice these signals and indicators must examine their receptive abilities.

Such people are described in the Quran as blind. It is not possible for human life to prosper under a system, doctrine or philosophy promoted by someone who is blind.

The fact that the heavens and the earth have been created with the truth gives the impression of limitless ability and solid stability.

The truth is solid and stable even in the sound the word ‘truth’ makes.

This contrasts completely with the ashes blown about fiercely on a stormy day, dispersed far and wide, as it contrasts with people going astray.

In light of the fate suffered by dictators who stubbornly took the wrong side in the battle between truth and falsehood, a strong warning is issued:

“If He so wills, He can do away with you and bring into being a new creation.”

Allah who is able to create the heavens and the earth can easily replace the human race with a different one, or bring about a new community of humans in place of the present one.

Again the connotations of taking a community away to replace it with another fits properly with the image of ashes blown far away.

“This is no difficult thing for God.”

The creation of the heavens and the earth testify that it is indeed easy for Allah.

The fate of earlier unbelieving communities also testifies to it, and so do the ashes scattered hither and thither.

It is indeed a remarkable feature of the Quranic style that imagery and connotations slot together in perfect harmony.

———————————

The verses 14:18-19 in different translations:

QARIB:

18-As for the likeness of those who disbelieve in their Lord, their works are like ashes which a strong wind scatters on a stormy day; they are powerless over that they have earned; that is the far error.

19-Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? he can put you away if he will and bring into being a new creation;

20-Indeed, that is no great thing for Allah.

SHAKIR:

18-The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their actions are like ashes on which the wind blows hard on a stormy day; they shall not have power over anything out of what they have earned; this is the great error

19-Do you not see that Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth? if he please he will take you off and bring a new creation,

20-And this is not difficult for Allah

PICKTHAL:

18-A similitude of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their works are as ashes which the wind bloweth hard upon a stormy day. they have no control of aught that they have earned. that is the extreme failure.

19-Hast thou not seen that Allah hath created the heavens and the earth with truth? if he will, he can remove you and bring (in) some new creation;

20-And that is no great matter for Allah.

YUSUFALI:

18-The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: no power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal).

19-Seest thou not that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth? if he so will, he can remove you and put (in your place) a new creation?

20-Nor is that for Allah any great matter.

Atheists in Quran (2) their knowledge = guess

The Atheists’ knowledge is but guess; and they follow their guess to feel secure.

—————————–

Allah who create the Atheists knows how they think.

In this article, Allah uncovers how the Atheists think and say.

The Quran gives the appraisal of the Atheists’ knowledge more than 1400 years ago.

The Quran says that the Atheists’ knowledge is but guess; and they follow their guess to feel secure

The meanings of the verses 45:23-24:

Have you seen the Atheist O Muhammad?

  • He is the one, who has taken as his god his own desire.
  • He is too proud of himself to worship his desire.
  • He worships a deity because of the urge of his ego; whenever his ego desires something, he obeys it.

Allah does not love the arrogant proud, that is why Allah has led him astray

Allah set a seal upon his hearing and his heart, so that he cannot hear guidance or understand it, and laid a covering, a darkness, over his sight, so that he cannot perceive guidance and does not see the Truth.

Now, who will guide him to the religion of Allah after Allah has sent him astray?

Who will guide him after Allah?

That is to say, after His leading him astray.

In other words, he will not find guidance.

Will you not O Atheists then remember?

—————————–

The Atheists’ false feeling of security:

The Atheists deny the Resurrection

They deny the Day of Judgment, the Afterlife, the Eternal Fire and Paradise.

They do that to feel secure and to continue following their desire and obeying their ego.

The Atheists say:

The only life is our life that we live in this world

We live, we die, and nothing but the passage of time destroys us.

Naught destroyed us save time factor

When they have no knowledge, proof or argument whatsoever of that which they say;

Allah, exalted be He, says:

“Of that saying, they have no knowledge; they are only making conjectures.”

It means that they do but guess

They only guess when they say this.

It follows that the Atheists’ knowledge is but guess; and they follow their guess to feel secure.

Nonetheless, the Atheists’ guess will not change the fact that there are Resurrection, Day of Judgment, Afterlife, Eternal Fire and Paradise.

—————————–

The verses 45:23-24 of the Noble Quran in different translations:

QARIB:

23- Have you seen he who took his desire for a god? With knowledge, Allah has led him astray, setting a seal upon his hearing and heart, and has made a veil over his eyes, who then shall guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember!

24- They say: ‘there is nothing except this life, we die and we live, it is only time that destroys us. ‘Surely, of this they have no knowledge, they are just guessing.

SHAKIR:

23- Have you then considered him who takes his low desire for his god, and Allah has made him err having knowledge and has set a seal upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his eye. Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be mindful?

24- And they say: there is nothing but our life in this world; we live and die and nothing destroys us but time, and they have no knowledge of that; they only conjecture

PICKTHAL:

23- Hast thou seen him who maketh his desire his god, and Allah sendeth him astray purposely, and sealeth up his hearing and his heart, and setteth on his sight a covering? Then who will lead him after Allah (hath condemned him)? Will ye not then heed?

24- And they say: there is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and naught destroyeth us save time; when they have no knowledge whatsoever of (all) that; they do but guess.

YUSUFALI:

23- Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?

24- And they say: “what is there but our life in this world? we shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us.” but of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture:

The Cow in the Quran

1) The Story of the cow and the revival of the killed Israelite:

One Israelite was found killed. All the Israelites gathered around Moses asking him to find out who killed the man. Moses asked Allah. Allah commanded the Israelites to slaughter a cow, any cow. The Israelites yelled at Moses: are you fooling! Moses said this is Allah’s command. Then they ask about the cow age, color, marital status and they made it difficult to find out such a cow. Finally they did. Allah commanded Moses to lightly knock the killed man with a part of the slaughtered cow. The killed man woke up and told them who killed him.

This story has some deep theological significance; Allah showed up to the Israelites that

  • The cow is a sign for Allah the Creator,
  • The cow is by no means a god and
  • Allah is able to woke-up the dead.

This is because the Israelites worshiped the cow and the ox and considered the cow a god.

Also, the Israelites deny the afterlife.

In addition, this story is not found in the Bible.

Surah 2: 67-73

67- and when Moses said to his people: surely Allah commands you that you should sacrifice a cow; they said: do you ridicule us? He said: I seek the protection of Allah from being one of the ignorant (fool)!”

68- They said: call on your Lord for our sake to make it plain to us what she (the cow) is. Moses said: he says, surely she is a cow neither advanced in age nor too young, of middle age between that (and this); do therefore what you are commanded

69- They said: call on your lord for our sake to make it plain to us what her color is. Moses said: he says, surely she is a yellow cow; her color is intensely yellow, giving delight to the beholders

70- they said: call on your lord for our sake to make it plain to us what she is, for surely to us the cows are all alike, and if Allah please we shall surely be guided aright

71- Moses said: he says, surely she is a cow not made submissive that she should plough the land, nor does she irrigate the tilth; sound, without a blemish in her. they said: now you have brought the truth; so they sacrificed her, though they had not the mind to do (it)

72- And when you killed a man, then you disagreed with respect to that, and Allah was to bring forth that which you were going to hide

73- so we said: strike the (dead body) with part of the (sacrificed cow), thus Allah brings the dead to life, and he shows you his signs so that you may understand

2) What is forbidden to eat, the male, the female, or the newborn cow?

The idolater Ignorant Arabs before Islam had some diverse religious traditions about the cows.

Some believed that it is eating the male cow (bull) is forbidden

Others believed that eating the female cow is forbidden.

Another Ignorant idolater Arabs believed that eating the first newborn cow is forbidden.

The Quran warns anyone who is saying that; the Quran says:

  • Is this Allah’s commandments or a forged invented lie?
  • Were you witnesses when Allah enjoined you this?

This issue is not found in the Bible.

Surah 6:144

And of camels a pair, and cows a pair cows. Say: has he forbidden the two males or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Or were you witnesses when Allah enjoined you this? Who, then, is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah that he should lead astray men without knowledge? Surely, Allah does not guide the unjust people

3) Joseph interpreted the Egyptian\s King’s dream of the fat cows and the seven lean cows

The Bible says that the lean cows were ugly.

The Quran does not say that.

In order to know the difference between the story of Joseph and Pharaoh in Bible vs. Quran, I recommend you smart reader to read the Story of the Prophet Joseph, the son of the Prophet Jacob it in both books.

Surah 12:43 and 46

43- The king (of Egypt) said: “i do see (in a vision) seven fat kine (cows), whom seven lean ones devour, and seven green ears of corn, and seven (others) withered. o ye chiefs! Expound to me my vision if it be that ye can interpret visions.”

46- The chief cupbearer said “O Joseph! O man of truth! Expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kine (cows) whom seven lean ones devour, and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that i may return to the people, and that they may understand.”

Back to the main issue of my series of articles (1-39); this is my question to you smart readers: “Is the Quran quoted from the Bible “?

The Spider in Bible vs. Quran vs. Science

The Bible says that the spider is found in kings’ palaces, Locusts have no king and whoever eats the eggs of vipers will die.

The Quran says that the female spider is the one mainly undertaking the building of the house and the spider’s house, from the physical and moral point of view, is the weakest house of all houses

———————————————————

One of the expanded dogmas of mankind is that the Quran is quoted or borrowed from the Bible.

This creed is established upon studies of many prejudiced intellectual scholars

In this series of articles (1-16), it is obvious that the Quran is quite different from the Bible.

It is also very clear that the Quran preceded the sciences in many aspects. In the present topic of the Spider, the smart reader will answer easily this false dogmatic inquiry: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible. The Bible which says :

1) Four things on earth are small, Ants, Coneys, locusts and a spider,

2) Locusts have no king,

3) The spider is found in kings’ palaces and

4) Whoever eats the eggs of vipers will die. Or the Quran which says

1) The female spider is the one mainly undertaking the building of the house,

2) The spider’s house, from the physical and moral point of view, is the weakest house of all houses and

3) The weakness is in the spider’s house and not in its threads Before dealing with the topic of the Spider in Quran vs. Bible vs. sciences, it is essential to remember that the total words of the Bible are 788,280 while total words of the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times the Quran to talk about the spider word-wise. The spider is mentioned in three verses in the Bible (all are in the Old Testament and never mentioned in the New Testament).

On the other hand, the spider is mentioned in one verse in the Quran. ———————————————————

The Spider in the Bible Proverbs 30 24 “Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise: 25 Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer; 26 Coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags; 27 locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks; 28 a spider can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings’ palaces.

In the “Arabic” Bible, the verse 24 says:” the smallest”; this adjective is modified in the modern English version to “small”. However, there are thousands of creatures that are smaller than the Ants, Coneys, locusts and a spider and are wise also as for examples the microbes, protozoa and fungi. Also, why the spider is found in the kings’ places specifically? Again, why the locusts have no king although they have? Job 8 13 Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless. 14 What he trusts in is fragile; what he relies on is a spider’s web. In this verse, the trust of the hypocrite is compared to the spider’s web or house.

This meaning is a beautiful one. Isaiah 59:5-6 Talking about those who are unjust and lie etc. 5 They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider’s web. Whoever eats their eggs will die, and when one is broken, an adder is hatched. 6 Their cobwebs are useless for clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make. Their deeds are evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands. Herein, Isaiah describes the wicked as those which “weave the spider’s web” i.e., their works and designs are, like the spider’s web, vain and useless. However, scientifically speaking, the one who eat the eggs of vipers will not die. Guaranteed. Even the one who eats the viper itself will not die. I wonder why the Bible put itself in such critical scientific conflicts. ———————————————————

The Spider in the Quran: Surah 29: [39] (Remember also) Qaroun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). [40] Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): it was not Allah who injured (or oppressed) them: they injured (and oppressed) their own souls. [41] The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the Spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the Spider’s house; if they but knew. [42] Verily Allah doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise. [43] And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge. [44] Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe. N.B.: Qaroun and Haman were the best friends of the Pharaoh of Moses. Qaroun was a very wealthy and powerful Israelite but was pro-Pharaoh. Haman was a top Egyptian official, he was chief of the army and police. Both Qaroun and Haman are not mentioned in the Bible. Back to the Spider, the Surah number 29 is named “Al-Ankaboot” which means the spider.

Naming the Surah with the singular form “Al-Ankaboot” indicates the solitary life of this animal, except at times of mating and egg hatching. This can be compared to the Surah “Al-Nahel” (The Bees) and the Surah “Al-Namel” (The Ants), where the names are plural since these insects live in social groups. The word “Al-Ankaboot” is used for the feminine singular. The verse indicates that the female spider is the one mainly undertaking the building of the house. Accordingly, building the spider’s house is an assignment carried on by the female spiders. It is the female which has in its body the glands for secretion of the silk substance from which the spider’s house is made. The spider’s house, from the physical point of view, is the weakest house of all, because it is made out of a number of very delicate silk threads. These threads are interwoven, leaving large separating spaces at most times. Therefore, they do not protect from the heat of the sun, or the extreme cold. These threads do not form adequate shade, nor protect from the rain, storming winds, or the dangers of attackers.

The Quran is very strict and clear when saying that the weakness is in the spider’s house and not the threads; (the flimsiest of houses). The spider’s house is the flimsiest house, whether physically or morally.

This has been proven by the late studies in zoology. In other words, the Quran preceded the modern scientific findings by more than 1300 years. The threads of the spider’s house are made of very delicate silk. The thickness of one thread is usually one million of the squared inch, or one part of four thousand parts of the thickness of the ordinary human hair. Despite its delicacy, it is the strongest biological substance known to mankind so far. The silk threads which make up the spider’s web are considered stronger than steel, and their strength is surpassed only by the melted quartz. The thin thread stretches to five times its length before it is cut. Therefore, the scientists call it “biological steel” or “bio-steel”. It is twenty times stronger than the ordinary metal steel. Its tolerance measures 300,000 pound for the square inch. Hypothetically speaking, should there be a thick rope of the spider’s threads, in the size of the thumb, it can easily carry a “jumbo” jet. In addition, the spider’s house, morally speaking, is the flimsiest of all houses, because it is deprived of all love and kindness, which are the pillars of any happy home. The female kills the male as soon as the fertilization takes place. Being larger in size and more violent, the female kills the male and eats its body. Also, the female eats its youngsters mercilessly. In some types, the female dies after fertilizing its eggs, which are usually fostered in a silk bag. When the eggs hatch, spider lings come out to find themselves in a very crowded place inside the eggs bag. The siblings then start to fight for food, space or both. The brother kills its brother and sister, and the sister kills its sister and brother, until the fight ends with a few spider lings remaining. These spider lings shed their skin and tear the eggs bag to come out one after the other with unhappy memories. They all then spread in the surrounding environment. Each female starts to build its house. On the road to achieve this goal, some of the spider lings die, whereas those who survive repeat the same tragedy. This makes the spider’s house the most violent and ruthless house, lacking all forms of kinship. Hence, Allah the Almighty sets it as a parable in its weakness and frailty because it lacks the simplest form of kindness between the husband and wife, the mother and her children, the brother and his siblings, and the sister and her siblings. These facts were unknown to any human at the time of revelation, and for long centuries thereafter. They have been discovered after extensive studies of the behavior of the spider by hundreds of scientists, for tens of years, until they were realized in the last decades of the twentieth century. That is why Allah ended the noble verse with His saying “if they but knew”. Some deep meaning of the verse: A- The house of the spider is not merely its dwelling place. Being the sticky net it is, it constitutes a trap for flying insects such as flies and others. These insects are a prey on which the spider feeds. Similarly, those idolaters who revere gods besides Allah, and call people to those revered gods, are in fact calling them to an artful trap which leads them to their death and destruction in this life and the afterlife. B- Warning against those with corrupt invocations who revere others besides Allah, whether money or whim. This warning is issued through indicating their hidden strings with which they hunt their victims. These strings can be money, sex, power, or any other hidden string which destroys the victim once it is trapped. Now, I think it is easy to answer this forged dogmatic question:

Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?

Angels in Islam (28) is Gabriel the enemy of Jews?

The Jews claimed that Gabriel is their enemy because he did not come with good and that if it had been Michael they would have believed in Muhammad.

——————————–

Omar ibn al-Khattab was one of Muhammad best friends.

He was astonished how the Genuine Torah and the Quran confirm each other.

The conversation between Omar ibn al-Khattab and the chief rabbi?

Said ‘Omar ibn al-Khattab:

‘I used to go to the Jews upon their study of the (genuine) Torah and was amazed to see the conformity of the Quran with the Torah and of the Torah with the Quran.

On one occasion they said: ‘O ‘Omar! We do not like anyone more than we like you’.

Omar asked: ‘And why is that?’

They said: ‘Because you come to us and mix with us’.

Omar said: ‘I come to you only because of my amazement at how the different parts of the Book of Allah strengthen each other, and how the Quran is in conformity with the Torah and how the Torah is in conformity with the Quran’.

They said: who among the Angels came to your prophet?

Omar said: Gabriel

Omar continued: ‘I adjure you by Allah and by that which was revealed to you of Scripture, do you know that he is Allah’s Messenger?’

Their chief said to them: ‘He has implored you by Allah, so do tell him’.

They said: ‘You are our chief; you tell him’.

Their chief said: ‘We do know that he is Allah’s Messenger!’

Omar said: ‘You are the one who shall be subject to the worst form of destruction if you all know that he is Allah’s Messenger and then do not follow him’.

Their chief rabbi said: Let us go to him to ask him some questions at first

The Jews came to the Prophet, and said: ‘O Muhammad! We would like to ask you about a few things; we shall follow you if you answer them.

They asked him about many things like faith, deeds. Afterlife etc.

The Prophet Muhammad answered them according to what inspired to him from Allah.

The Jews looked at each other, they were confused about what to say, should they say: Now we believe in you O Muhammad as the promised last prophet found in Torah?

Their chief rabbi said: Who, among the Angels, comes to you? For there is not a single prophet except that an angel comes to him with a message and revelation from his Lord, glorified and majestic is He, so who is the angel who comes to you?’

Muhammad said: ‘it is Gabriel’.

Their chief rabbi said: ‘That is the one who comes down with war and fighting. He is our enemy. If you had said: Michael, who comes down with rain and mercy, we would have followed you’.

It follows that the Jews claimed that Gabriel did not come with good, that they did not love him, and that if it had been Michael they would have believed in Muhammad.

And so Allah revealed the verses 2:97-98 that mean:

Say O Muhammad not to Jews only but to mankind

Gabriel is the Angel who brought the Quran down upon your heart by Allah’s permission and command

The revealed Quran is confirming the scriptures before it (e.g. the Genuine Torah)

The Quran brought down upon your heart by Gabriel is a guidance from error and good tidings, of Paradise, for the believers

Who is an enemy to Gabriel is automatically an enemy to Allah and to the entire Angels.

Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel, let him die in exasperation

Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His Angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael then surely Allah is an enemy to him

Anyone who is an enemy to Allah’s Angels, Gabriel, and Michael etc. is but an unbeliever and he will dwell in the Eternal Hell forever!

The Jews said Gabriel did not bring good, what good is greater than the Quran that descended through him?’ Does it not suffice them that Allah sent down the Quran upon you O Muhammad?

The thing is Gabriel came down many times to punish the Jews when they, many times, disobeyed Allah. But, did he do it by his own or by Allah’s permission and command?

The one who is perfectly doing his Job is an enemy only to those who hate the truth!

Nevertheless, does the enmity of the Jews harm Gabriel?

The Real Gabriel’s size is more than 100 times the total earth’ size!

——————————–

The verses 2:97-98 in different translations:

QARIB:

-Say: ‘whoever is an enemy of Gabriel, indeed, he has brought it down by the permission of Allah to your heart, confirming what was before it and a guidance and glad tidings to the believers.

-Whoever is an enemy of Allah, his Angels, his messengers, Gabriel, and Michael indeed Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers. ‘

SHAKIR:

-Say: whoever is the enemy of Jibreel– for surely he revealed it to your heart by Allah’s command, verifying that which is before it and guidance and good news for the believers

-Whoever is the enemy of Allah and his Angels and his messengers and Jibreel and Meekaeel, so surely Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers

PICKTHAL:

-Say (o Muhammad, to mankind): who is an enemy to Gabriel! For he it is who hath revealed (this scripture) to thy heart by Allah’s leave, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, and a guidance and glad tidings to believers;

-Who is an enemy to Allah, and his Angels and his messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers.

YUSUFALI:

-Say: whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah’s will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,-

-Whoever is an enemy to Allah and his Angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael, – lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject faith.

This is Allah (59) the 70 men in Paradise who have Prostrated only once to Allah?

1) Who were the 70 men in Paradise Who Have Prostrated Once to Allah?

When interpreting this verse, the Prophet Muhammad said:

I marveled that they are in Paradise although they have prostrated only once to Allah!

2) The Egyptian Sorcerers Prayed to Allah and Said: Our Lord! Vouchsafe unto us steadfastness, honor us with steadfastness when we are crucified and mutilated and make it that we do not return to disbelief.

Our Lord! Pour out onto us patience , and constancy, when that with which he has threatened us comes to pass, lest we revert to unbelief; and take us to You as men who have submitted’.

3) The Egyptian Sorcerers Realized That Pharaoh Will Kill Them

They said: Lo! We are about to return unto our Lord.

Surely to our Lord, after our death, however it come about, we shall be restored, we shall return, in the Hereafter. They believed in the afterlife.

4) What the Egyptian Sorcerers Said to Pharaoh Before He Has Killed Them?

the Egyptian sorcerers said to Pharaoh just before he has killed them:

You are vindictive, spiteful, towards us, you are censuring and punishing us, only because we have believed in the signs of Allah, Our Lord, when they came to us.

5) What Are the Last Words of the Egyptian Sorcerers Before their Death?

The Egyptian sorcerers realized that Pharaoh will punish and kill them, they prayed to Allah and said:

Our Lord! Make us die as men who have surrendered unto Thee sincerely, following the religion of Moses.

6) Was Moses Working Corruption in Egypt?

Then the chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said to Pharaoh:

Will you leave Moses and his people to work corruption in the land, by calling to disobedience against you, and flout you and your gods? and abandon you and the worship of your gods?

7) What Was the Plan of Pharaoh After Killing the Egyptian Sorcerers?

Then the chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said to Pharaoh:

Will you leave Moses and his people to make mischief in the land by changing the religion and worship.

Pharaoh said:

We will slay their sons, their young sons, as we did the first time and spare their grown up women; we shall slaughter their new-born sons and spare their women as we did with them before.

———————————–

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-58) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

In the previous articles (55-58)

Moses said: O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from Allah to you,

Pharaoh said: You are lying!

Moses said: when talking about to Allah it is compulsory to say the truth. Truly I have come to you with a clear signs from Allah.

Pharaoh Said: If you have come with a sign, then produce it.

Then Moses cast down, he flung down his staff and it was an enormous huge snake manifest for all to see,

And he drew forth his hand, he took it out from his bosom (armpit), and it was white, radiant and shining for the beholders.

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s council said: Lo! this is some knowing wizard who is proficient in wizardry. Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer, outstanding in the art of magic. The aim of this man (Moses) is to expel you from your land of Egypt.  This was not true, the aim of Moses was to take the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Then Pharaoh said:

Now what do you advice? What we should do concerning this matter?

They said unto Pharaoh:

We should bring every cunning sorcerer, who is proficient in wizardry to outdo Moses in the art of magic.  And so they summoned many of the knowing wizards.

And the sorcerers who were 70 in number came to Pharaoh, and they said: Surely there will be a great reward for us if we are victors against Moses.

Pharaoh answered: Yes of course you have that, and surely you shall be of those brought near to me in status.

The Egyptian sorcerers threw 70 staffs and 70 ropes, they cast a spell upon the people’s eyes, and overawed them scared them, and produced a mighty spell; they put a spell upon the people’s eyes, misleading them from perceiving the real state of these ropes and staffs, and overawed them, scared them, by making their ropes appear to be slithering snakes, and produced a mighty sorcery.

Allah inspired Moses (saying): Throw your staff!  And he threw it. And lo! it swallowed up their lying show, their staffs and ropes.

The Egyptian sorcerers, as well as Pharaoh and his folk, were defeated.

The Egyptian sorcerers realized that Moses was right and that they were evil doers.

And the Egyptian sorcerers fell down prostrate to Allah; for they realized that what they had witnessed of the staff could not be done through sorcery; they cried and said: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds.

Pharaoh said: are you referring to me?

They said: Allah! The Lord of Moses and Aaron,

Pharaoh get very angry at them.

Pharaoh said:

You believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron before I give you leave, before I command you to do so!

Lo! this is the plot that you have plotted in the city between you and Moses; that you may expel its people from it by means of guile.

Then Pharaoh threatened them and said:

But you shall come to know, what I will do to you!

Pharaoh said:

I shall assuredly have your hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, that is, the right hand and the left foot of every one, then I shall have every one of you crucified. This was the punishment for anyone who does not believe that Pharaoh is the Lord of the Worlds!

Then what?

———————————–

The meaning of verse 7:125

The Egyptian sorcerers realized that Pharaoh will punish and kill them; They said:

Lo! We are about to return unto our Lord

Surely to our Lord, after our death, however it come about, we shall be restored, we shall return, in the Hereafter.  They believed in the afterlife.

The meaning of verse 7:126

You are vindictive, spiteful, towards us, you are censuring and punishing us, only because we have believed in the signs of Allah, Our Lord, when they came to us.

Then they prayed to Allah saying:

Our Lord!

Our Lord! Make us die as men who have surrendered unto Thee sincerely, following the religion of Moses.

These were their last words just before they have been killed!

When interpreting this verse, the Prophet Muhammad said:

I marveled that they (the Egyptian sorcerers) are in Paradise although they have prostrated only once to Allah!

The meaning of verse 7:127

Pharaoh has every one of the Egyptian sorcerers crucified after cutting their hands and feet.

Then the chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said to Pharaoh:

O King, Will you leave Moses and his people to work corruption in the land, by calling to disobedience against you, and flout you and your gods?

Will you leave Moses and his people to make mischief in the land by changing the religion and worship, and abandon you and the worship of your gods?

It is also said that this means, according to a different reading: and leave worshipping you as a god?

Pharaoh said:

We will slay their sons, their young sons, as we did the first time and spare their grown up women,

We shall slaughter their new-born sons and spare their women, keeping them alive, as we did with them before.  For lo! we are in power over them; we have dominance and supremacy over them, and they did this to them, and so the Children of Israel grieved.

Verses 7:125-127 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

125) They replied: ‘we shall surely turn to our Lord.

126) You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Lord, pour patience upon us and let us die as submitters (Muslims). ‘

127) The assembly of pharaoh’s nation said: ‘will you allow Moses and his nation to corrupt in the land and to forsake you and your gods? ‘ he replied: ‘we will put their sons to death and spare their women, indeed we are conquerors over them. ‘

SHAKIR:

125) They said: surely to our Lord shall we go back:

126) And you do not take revenge on us except because we have believed in the communications of our Lord when they came to us! our Lord: pour out upon us patience and cause us to die in submission

127) And the chiefs of Firon’s people said: do you leave Musa and his people to make mischief in the land and to forsake you and your gods? he said: we will slay their sons and spare their women, and surely we are masters over them

PICKTHAL:

125) They said: lo! we are about to return unto our Lord!

126) Thou takest vengeance on us only forasmuch as we believed the tokens of our Lord when they came unto us. our Lord! Vouchsafe unto us steadfastness and make us die as men who have surrendered (unto thee).

127) The chiefs of pharaoh’s people said: (o king), wilt thou suffer Moses and his people to make mischief in the land, and flout thee and thy gods? he said: we will slay their sons and spare their women, for lo! we are in power over them.

YUSUFALI:

125) They said: “for us, we are but sent back unto our Lord:

126) “But thou dost wreak thy vengeance on us simply because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! Pour out on us patience and constancy, and take our souls unto thee as Muslims (who bow to thy will)!

127) Said the chiefs of pharaoh’s people: “wilt thou leave Moses and his people, to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon thee and thy gods?” he said: “their male children will we slay; (only) their females will we save alive; and we have over them (power) irresistible.”

Muhammad and one of his Best Advice (1)

The Prophet Muhammad gave us many advices

One of his best advices is:

“Judge yourself before you will judged on the Day of Judgment

Today is acts without Judgment and

Tomorrow is Judgment without acts”

Another one advice is:

“The good acts will never perish

The sin will never be forgotten

The judge (Allah) will never die

Do whatever you want

The same you have done in the life of this world is the same you will judged on the Day of Judgment”
