The Donkey in Bible vs. Quran vs. Science – A

In the Bible, God commands to kill the donkeys especially the firstborn one. In addition, the Bible says that 1) Egyptian’s genitals are like those of donkeys, 2) the Donkey has to keep the Sabbath 3) A donkey spoke with a man’s voice! 4) Samson killed a thousand men with a jawbone of a donkey etc.
—————————————–
Upon talking about the Donkey, the Bible give a dozen of interesting issues and says:
1) Kill men and women, children and infants, and donkeys, etc…
2) “Ishmael” will be a wild donkey of a man.
3) Either Redeem or Kill the firstborn donkey.
4) Do not “covet” your neighbor’s wife or donkey.
5) You and your Donkey have to keep the Sabbath.
6) How do you deal with the donkey, and the fools?
7) Drag away and throw outside the dead donkey.
8) The donkey knows his owner’s manger, but Israel does not know
9) The Egyptian’s genitals are like those of donkeys!
10) Samson killed a thousand men with a jawbone of a donkey!
11) O, they (Israelites) destroyed with the sword every living thing.
12) Go and destroy everything. Do not spare them.
—————————————–
The Bible mentions the donkey 142 times and the Quran mentions the donkey four times, i.e., the Bible cites the donkey 35 times more than the Quran does.
Furthermore, the total words of the Bible are 788,280 while the total words of the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the likely of more than 10 times than the Quran to talk about the donkey.
In addition, the Bible has the prospective of more than 35 times than the Quran to tell us about the donkey.
—————————————–
The Donkey in the Bible:
Kill every living creature. Do not spare any:
They destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, donkeys, etc…
Go and destroy everything. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, donkeys, etc…
Kill men and women, children and infants, and donkeys, etc…
Joshua 6:21
“They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.”
1 Samuel 15:3
“Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ “
1 Samuel 22:19
“He also put to the sword Nob, the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep.”
1 Samuel 27:9
“Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish”.

The Bible says that “Ishmael” will be a wild donkey of a man and sets on the root of Arabs-Jews conflict and intolerance.
Genesis 16:12
“He (Ishmael) will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
One may think about why Moses wrote in Genesis that His Uncle “Ishmael” would be a wild donkey of a man. Is it polite to say that about His Uncle? Is not that a race-discrimination? Is not very shameful to say that Isaac’s brother is a donkey? Is not Isaac the grandfather of the Lord Jesus?
Although this nasty Biblical claims sets on the root of Arabs-Jews conflict and intolerance; however, it does not hurt the two great Prophet Ishmael and Isaac.

Either Redeem or Kill the firstborn donkey.
One has to redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb; but if he does not, he has to break its neck. Either way, there should be blood of the lamb or the donkey!
Exodus 13:13
“Redeem with a lamb every firstborn donkey, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.”
Exodus 34:20
“Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.”

In addition, there is a prophecy about the ox and donkey:
Deuteronomy 28:31
“Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them.”

Do not “covet” your neighbor’s wife or donkey.
Exodus 20:17
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Deuteronomy 5:21
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor’s house or land, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

The Donkey has to keep the Sabbath:
You and your Donkey have to keep the Sabbath.
Exodus 23:12
“Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed.”
Deuteronomy 5:14
“But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do.”

How do you deal with the donkey, and the fools? With a halter and a rod
Proverbs 26:3
“A whip for the horse, a halter for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools!”

The donkey knows his owner’s manger, but “Israel” does not know
Isaiah 1:3
“The ox knows his master, the donkey his owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”

The donkeys will eat fodder and mash, spread out with fork and shovel.
Isaiah 30:24
“The oxen and donkeys that work the soil will eat fodder and mash, spread out with fork and shovel.”

The policy of burial of a donkey
How do you burry your donkey? Drag away and throw outside.
Jeremiah 22:19
“He will have the burial of a donkey— dragged away and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem.”

The Egyptian’s genitals are like those of donkeys and their emission (semen) is like that of horses. Wow!
Being an Egyptian, I do not know if I should be proud or insulted because of this anatomical and biological verse!
However, this verse may be interested to those who are looking for outstanding genitals!
Ezekiel 23:20
“There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.”

This following verse talks about a man who will eat grass like cattle.
However, the man’s stomach is not like that of cattle.
Scientifically speaking, Man cannot utilize and metabolize grass
Daniel 5:21
“He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes.”

Believe it or Not!
Unbelievably! The Bible narrates two stories
1) Samson killed a thousand men with a jawbone of a donkey!
Judges 15:15
“Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.”
Judges 15:16
“Then Samson said, “With a donkey’s jawbone I have made donkeys of them. With a donkey’s jawbone I have killed a thousand men.”

2) A donkey spoke with a man’s voice!
2Peter 2:16
“But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness”.

This is Allah (67) Moses Prayed to Allah to forgive him

Moses Prayed to Allah: My Lord, Forgive Me and Aaron

Moses prayed to Allah and said: My Lord, forgive me, what I have done to my brother, and forgive my brother because he did not fight the idolaters.

Moses Was Angry and Bitterly Grieved Because of the Israelites?

When Moses returned to his people, angry, because of them, and bitterly grieved, he said, to them: ‘Evil is that, that is, evil is the manner of succession, which you have followed in my place, after I had gone, this idolatry of yours.

Why Did Moses Cast Down the Tablets of the Torah?

Moses cast down the Tablets of the Torah, , and they were broken into pieces.  Moses was angry for the sake of his Lord, Allah, because of what the Israelites have done.

Why Did Moses Seize his Brother Aaron And Drag Him in Anger?

Moses seized his brother Aaron by the head, with his right hand, and seized him by the beard, with his left hand, dragging Aaron toward him in anger because of what the Israelites have done.

In English Son of My Mother and In Arabic Ibna Ummi

Aaron said to Moses: ‘O, son of my mother! (ibna ummī, in Arabic).  Why did Aaron say ibna ummī by which he meant son of my mother and he did not say son of my father although they were full brothers?

Were the Israelites Close to Killing Moses Brother Aaron?

Aaron said to Moses: ‘O, son of my mother! Truly the people judged me weak and they were close to killing me due to my opposition.

Moses Prayed to Allah: My Lord! Have Mercy on Me and on Aaron

Moses prayed to Allah and said: My Lord! Have mercy on me and on Aaron and Have mercy on my brother Aaron, and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-67 so far) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

Verses 7:150-151 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Why was Moses angry and bitterly grieved because of the Israelites?

2) Why Did Moses cast down the Tablets of the Torah?

3) Why Did Moses seize his brother Aaron and drag him in anger?

4) Were the Israelites close to killing Moses brother Aaron? And

5) Moses prayed to Allah: My Lord, forgive me and my brother and Have mercy on us.

————————————

In the previous article (70) the Israelites, after Moses had departed for the communion with Allah, made of their ornaments, which they had borrowed from Pharaoh’s folk on the pretext of a wedding celebration, and which remained in their possession, a calf, which the Samaritan had fashioned for them therefrom; a mere living body of flesh and blood, which lowed, that is, which made audible sounds like a cow.

But how come that the Samaritan made for them a cow which made audible sounds from the gold?

It is said that, it [the calf] was transformed in this way when the dust, which the Samaritan had collected from where the hoof of Gabriel’s steed had trodden, was placed in its mouth, for it has the effect of giving life to that in which it is placed.

Then Allah asks:

Did they not see that it spoke not to them, nor guided them to any way?,

So how can it be taken as a god?

Yet they took it as such, a god, and were evildoers, for taking it so.

————————————

The meaning of verse 7:150

And when Moses returned to his people, angry, because of them, and bitterly grieved, he said, to them: ‘Evil is that, that is, evil is the manner of succession, which you have followed in my place, after I had gone, this idolatry of yours. Would you hasten on the judgment of your Lord?’

And Moses cast down the Tablets, the Tablets of the Torah, angry for the sake of his Lord, and they were broken into pieces,

And he seized his brother by the head, that is, by the hair, with his right hand, and seized him by the beard, with his left hand, dragging him toward him, in anger.

Aaron said to Moses: ‘O, son of my mother!

Aaron said ibna ummī by which he meant son of my mother’

Um in Arabic means a mother

ummī means my mother

Ibna ummī means son of my mother

Why did Aaron say ibna ummī by which he meant son of my mother and he did not say son of my father?  Because the mention of ummī , my mother, is more affectionate in appealing to the heart),

Aaron said to Moses: ‘O, son of my mother! Truly the people judged me weak and they were close to killing me (if I have prevented them of making the idol calf and taking it as god).

Then Aaron continues: Do not make my enemies gloat over my misfortune, to rejoice thereat, by your humiliating me, and do not count me among the folk who have done evil’, by worshipping the calf, in your reproach of them.

In other words, the verse says:

And when Moses returned unto his people, angry and grieved when he heard the voice of sedition,

he said: Evil is that course which you took after I had left you; evil is what you did by worshipping the calf after I went to the mountain. Would you hasten on the judgment of your Lord; would you hasten by worshipping the calf the promise of your Lord?  And he cast down the tablets from his hand and two of them were broken, and he seized his brother by the head i.e. by Aaron’s hair, dragging him towards him. He (Aaron) said: Son of my mother! they were full brothers, but he mentioned their mother so that Moses might be gentle with him. Lo! the folk did judge me weak, humiliated me and almost killed me due to my opposition. Oh, make not mine enemies to triumph over me; make not the enemy, the folk of the calf, spite me and do not place me among the evil-doers! Do not harm me because of the folk of the calf.

The meaning of verse 7:151

Moses prayed to Allah and said, ‘My Lord, forgive me, what I have done to my brother, and forgive my brother, he includes him in the supplication in order to reconcile him and to fend off any gloating over his misfortune, and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful’

In other word, Moses said: My Lord! Have mercy on me because of what I did to Aaron and Have mercy on my brother Aaron because he did not fight them; Bring us into Thy mercy in Your Garden. You are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.

————————————

Verses 7:150-151 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

150) And when Moses returned to his nation, angry and sorrowful, he said: ‘evil is what you have done in my absence! would you hasten the retribution of your Lord? ‘ he threw down the tablets, and seizing his brother by the head, dragged him towards him. ‘son of my mother, ‘ said (Aaron), ‘the nation weakened me, and almost killed me. do not let my enemies rejoice over me; do not number me among the harmdoers.’

151) ‘Lord, ‘ said Moses, ‘forgive me and forgive my brother. admit us to your mercy, for you are most merciful of the merciful! ‘

SHAKIR:

150) And when Musa returned to his people, wrathful (and) in violent grief, he said: evil is it that you have done after me; did you turn away from the bidding of your Lord? and he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, dragging him towards him. he said: son of my mother! surely the people reckoned me weak and had well-nigh slain me, therefore make not the enemies to rejoice over me and count me not among the unjust people

151) He said: my Lord! forgive me and my brother and cause us to enter into thy mercy, and thou art the most merciful of the merciful ones

PICKTHAL:

150) And when Moses returned unto his people, angry and grieved, he said: evil is that (course) which ye took after i had left you. would ye hasten on the judgment of your Lord? and he cast down the tablets, and he seized his brother by the head, dragging him toward him. he said: son of my mother! lo! the folk did judge me weak and almost killed me. oh, make not mine enemies to triumph over me and place me not among the evil-doers.

151) He said: my Lord! have mercy on me and on my brother; bring us into thy mercy, thou the most merciful of all who show mercy.

YUSUFALI:

150) When Moses came back to his people, angry and grieved, he said: “evil it is that ye have done in my place in my absence: did ye make haste to bring on the judgment of your Lord?” he put down the tablets, seized his brother by (the hair of) his head, and dragged him to him. Aaron said: “son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught, and went near to slaying me! make not the enemies rejoice over my misfortune, nor count thou me amongst the people of sin.”

151) Moses prayed: “o my Lord! forgive me and my brother! admit us to thy mercy! for thou art the most merciful of those who show mercy!”

In Quran, Allah sent a Prophet to every nation

It is interesting that the Bible which is a historical book declares that all the Prophets sent by the Lord God were Israelites who were in the area of Iraq, Palestine and Egypt.  On the other hand, the Quran which is not a historical book challenges the Historians and declares that Allah sent a Prophet to every ancient nation.  Hence, the Historian have to find out who are the prophets sent to America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.

—————————————

The Bible talks about the Pre-Flood Era and the Increasing Corruption on Earth which provoked God’s wrath so that He flooded the earth.  The Bible says:

When man began to multiply on the face of the Earth and daughters were born to them, the Sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they married them.

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, his days shall be 120 years. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the Sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, “I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

Herein, there are some points; they are:

1)    Why only daughters were born unto man?

2)    Who are the Sons of God and how many they were?

3)    Also, nothing can or could, will or would grieve Allah.  Also, Allah has no heart; He is not like us or like anything else.

4)    Is man’s age 120 years as the Lord God has decided?

5)    Allah never ever repents of anything He did, He does and/or He will do.

6)    Moreover, although the Biblical God has Spirit, Allah has no Spirit; He is not like us.

7)    In addition, although the Biblical God has heart (and blood vessels and blood consequently), Allah has no heart; He is not like us or like anything else.

On the other hand, the Quran does not talk about the Increasing Corruption on Earth in the Pre-Flood Era, but it talks about the corruption of mankind from the time of creation of man up till now.  After Adam’s fall, Allah gave him and his offspring consequently an advice (Verses 20:121-123 and verses 2:38-39); hereupon, Allah sent Prophets to every nation on the Earth and He ends the Prophethood with the last Prophet, Muhammad (Verses 43:6-7 and verses 35:24-25).

After Adam’s fall, Allah gave him and his offspring consequently an advice

The meanings of the verses 20:121-123

And Adam disobeyed his Lord and so he erred, by [his] eating from the tree.

Then his Lord chose him, He brought him close [to Him], and relent to him,

Then Allah chose him, He accepted his repentance, overlooked his sin and guided him to seek repentance regularly.

[N.B., In the Bible, the Lord has not accepted Adam’s repentance; that is why He sent his son to the Earth.]

And Allah said, ‘Go down both of you, that is, Adam and Eve, including all of your progeny, from it, from the Garden, all together, some of you, some of the progeny, being enemies of others, because of some wronging others. Yet if there should come to you guidance (a Scripture, a Messenger, and/ or a Prophet) from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, shall not go astray in the life of this world nor come to grief in the Hereafter.

The meanings of the verses 2:38-39

Allah said to Adam, Eve, and Satan, ‘Go down from the Heaven, all together. Then Allah mentioned Adam’s progeny, from hence; when and whenever it comes to you, from Me a guidance, whoever follows My guidance, believing in me and performing deeds in obedience of Me, no fear shall befall them, neither shall they grieve, in the Hereafter, since they will be admitted into Paradise.

But those who disbelieve, and deny our guidance, they will be the rightful owners of the Eternal Fire; they will abide therein forever, they will remain perpetually in hell: never to die or be released from it.

Allah sent Prophets to every nation on the Earth and He ends the Prophethood with the last Prophet, Muhammad

The meanings of the verses 43:6-7

Allah asks the Historian this Question

And how many a prophet did Allah send among the ancients!  O Muhammad, Allah knew that they would not believe, but Allah nonetheless did not leave the bygone nations without messengers and Scriptures!  And never came to these past nations a Prophet but they used to mock their Prophets, in the same way that your people deride you O Muhammad.

It follows that, in contrary to the Bible which states that all the Prophets were Israelites, every ancient nation had its own Prophet; the historians and researchers have to dig through the history to explore the prophets sent to America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.

It should be emphasized that Allah sent a Prophet (Idris); the scholar said that he was an Egyptian Prophet sent to the Ancient Egypt before the Flood (Verses 19:56-57). Idris is not mentioned in the Bible.

The meanings of the verses 35:24-25

Lo! Allah has sent you O Muhammad with the Truth, with the Quran, as a bearer of glad tidings, announcing Paradise for whoever believes in Allah, and as a Warner from the Fire for whoever disbelieves in Allah; and there is not a nation except that they had a warning messenger. In other words, there is not a nation or a community before you O Muhammad but a Warner has passed among them to warn them.

And if they deny you O Muhammad, those before them also denied their messengers who brought them manifest signs, miracles and with scriptures.  In other words, the messengers before Muhammad came unto their nations with clear proofs of Allah’s Sovereignty; they came to them with commands, prohibitions and signs, and with the Scripture expositing the lawful and the unlawful.

The Bible (King James Version)

Genesis 6:1-7

1) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2) That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3) And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4) There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5) And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7) And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

The Quran (Pickthal translation)

Verses 43:6-7

6) How many a prophet did we send among the men of old (the ancients)!

7) And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him.

Verses 35:24-25

24) Lo! We have sent thee with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a Warner; and there is not a nation but a Warner hath passed among them.

25) And if they deny thee, those before them also denied. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s sovereignty), and with the psalms and the scripture giving light.

Verses 20:121-123

121) … and Adam disobeyed his lord, so went astray.

122)  Then his lord chose him, and relented toward him, and guided him.

123)  He said: go down hence, both of you, one of you a foe unto the other. But when there come unto you from me guidance, then whoso followeth my guidance, he will not go astray nor come to grief.

Verses 2:38-39

38) We said: go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from me guidance; and whoso followeth my guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

39) But they who disbelieve, and deny our revelations, such are rightful peoples of the fire. They will abide therein.

Why Do Priests & Preachers Enter Islam? The story of conversion of the Preacher Yusuf Estes (10)

Doesn’t it bother you to have left the way of peace, justice and love for a religion of hatred, violence and oppression toward women and others?

—————————–

How a preacher or priest in Christianity can ever go to Islam?

How could a preacher have turned his back on the perfect plan of salvation of Jesus Christ on the cross for you sins and converted to Islam?

—————————–

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

The ex- American preacher Yusuf Estes continues saying:

Now as I promised here are the answers to the questions many have asked me connected with my choice of Islam:

Question:

8. “Doesn’t it bother you to have left the way of peace, justice and love for a religion of hatred, violence and oppression toward women and others?”

Answer:

All the prophets, peace be upon them all, called the people to worship Almighty God as One God and One Lord. As such, those who did not want to submit to Almighty God would combat them and treat them with hostilities, even unto death, as Paul had done while still being a Pharisee. The prophets, peace be upon them all, did encourage their followers to live in peace and deal with people in justice and certainly love is the highest form of emotion a human can have for another human being.

Yet at the same time, believers have to defend themselves, their families and the religion itself, lest those who are not believers should remove belief from the very face of the earth. Islam, like Christianity preaches a message of peace and tolerance – to a point. But when this is no longer possible without totally compromising and loosing one’s way of life and belief system, then there is no alternative except to engage in open combat against those who are combating against the believers.

Jesus called upon his followers to sell their coats and buy swords. He explained that he did not come with peace, but rather a sword. He and his companions were engaged in mortal combat with their enemies, the Pharisees when one of the priests slaves had his ear cut by the sword. Jesus then told them to put down their swords. This is mentioned in the Bible.

The word “sword” appears over 200 times in the Bible – but even though the Arabic language has more than a dozen words for sword, there is not a single occurrence of any of these words anywhere in the Quran.

Combat is ordered in the Quran, only under very specific and limited conditions and it is nothing more than what we would today call “The War on Terrorism.” Fighting against all acts of organized aggression, oppression, persecution and terrorism is an obligation on all believers. But it certainly has limits and women, children, elderly and any innocents are not to killed or injured during such occasions. Treatment of prisoners is not to be humiliating or torture of any kind. Even the dead of the enemy are to be buried with dignity and respect.

Now since writing my story and publishing here on the internet many other websites have picked up this story and it had become a famous example of how “Priest and Preachers Are Coming to Islam.”

Again, I thank you for visiting. And I thank our Christian friend for his email. If he hadn’t sent it, I probably would still not have completed this task of putting down the story once and for all of how my family, friends and myself all came to Islam.

Please feel free to share this story with others. You should print it out and make copies for everyone. Give them our links, add our story to your website or blog page, and send out emails to everyone you know. Maybe it could make a difference for others like us, God Willing.

May Allah guide you on your journey to all truth? Ameen. And May He open your heart and your mind to the reality of this world and the purpose of this life, ameen.

Peace to you and Guidance from Allah the One Almighty God, Creator and Sustainer of all that exists.

Your friend,

Allah loves (9) those who are just and are not biased

How should Muslims deal with the disbelievers?

Islam, Muslims, Disbelievers and Tolerance

————————————————————–

In the previous articles, we have seen that Allah loves

1) the kind good doers,

2) those who turn to him and those who are Clean and Pure,

3) those who guard against evil,

4) those who put their Trust in Him,

5) those who are firm and steadfast,

6) the virtuous,

7) the charitable, and

8) who judge in equity.

In this article, Allah loves those who are just and are not biased.

————————————————————–

Allah does not forbid you in regard to those who did not wage war against you, from among the disbelievers, on account of religion and did not expel you from your homes,

That you should treat them kindly

That you should have relations with them and help them

And deal with them justly ) by honoring your pledges to them:

It is obvious that Allah did not forbid the Prophet Muhammad from having good relations with the disbelievers to have peace.

Assuredly Allah loves the just dealers, those who are just and are not biased.

————————————————————–

The Background of verse 8:60 and a story about it:

Allah, exalted is He, says to the believers: “You have in Abraham as well as in the prophets and friends of Allah good role models, regarding their declaration of enmity towards their relatives who were idolaters, which should be emulated”.

So when this verse was revealed, the believers declared their relatives who were idolaters to be their enemies. They showed this enmity to them and absolved themselves of all the things that they did or believed in.

Allah, exalted is He, knew that this was hard on the believers and so He revealed

“It may be that Allah will ordain love between you and those of them with whom ye are at enmity” [60:7].

And He did just that when many of them embraced Islam, thus becoming brothers and friends. Consequently, they mingled with and married from among each other. The Messenger Muhammad, Allah bless him, married Umm Habibah, the daughter of Abu Sufyan (who was one of the leaders of the disbelievers).

As a result, Abu Sufyan mellowed a little. When he heard of the news of his daughter’s marriage, he said while he was still an idolater: “What an honor, He is an outstanding person; no harm shall come to him”.

Also, there is a story about this verse:

Asma’s mother (was disbeliever) went to visit her daughter Asma’ and took with her gifts: desert lizards, clarified butter and dry cheese. However, Asma’ refused to let her in her house and rejected her gifts.

‘A’ishah (Muhammad’s wife) went on behalf of Asma’ to ask the Prophet Muhammad. Allah, exalted is He, revealed (Allah does not forbid you those who warred not against you on account of religion) [60:8].

Asma’ then let her mother into her house and accepted her gifts.

Verse 60:8 says that Allah loves those who are just and are not biased.

The verse Commands the Muslims to deal kindly with the disbelievers who do not wage war against them.

The verse commands that Muslims should treat them kindly, have relations with them, help them and deal with them justly. Assuredly Allah loves the just dealers, those who are just and are not biased.

Verse 60:8 in different translations:

QARIB:

SHAKIR:

Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice.

PICKTHAL:

Allah forbiddeth you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. lo! Allah loveth the just dealers.

YUSUFALI:

Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (89 the outcome of Men seeking Devils’ Help

The men who seek devils’ help will say: “But now we have arrived at the term which you have appointed for us’, that is, the Day of Judgment.” This statement expresses extreme regret on their part. Allah will say to them: ‘The Fire is your lodging, your abode, to abide therein’

——————————————-

Ayah 6:128 describes the outcome of those unbelievers who seek help of the jinn (devils) in order to fight against the truth and mentioned in the article “Chapter 6 of the Quran (78) the Prophet Enemies” of this series; the verse says:

And mention, the day when Allah shall gather them all His creatures together, and it will be said to them: ‘O assembly of jinn, you have seduced and put away much of mankind’ by misleading them.

Then their friends, those who disbelieved and obeyed them will say,

‘Our Lord, we enjoyed one another, mankind enjoyed what the jinn adorned for them of desires, while the jinn enjoyed mankind’s obedience to them; how many human beings have erred by seeking help in you.

But now we have arrived at the term which you have appointed for us’, that is, the Day of Judgment.

This statement expresses extreme regret on their part.

Allah, exalted be He, will say, to them, by the tongues of the angels:

‘The Fire is your lodging, your abode, to abide therein’ — except what Allah wills, of those times when they will exit from it in order to drink boiling water, which is located outside it, as Allah, has said: Then they shall return to the Hell-fire [Read the verse 37:68];

According to the scholars, this pertains to those whom Allah knows will believe.

Surely your Lord is Wise, in His actions; He is the Knower of His creatures.

Allah wills that they abide in hell for eternity.

Lo! Your Lord is Wise; He decreed that they will abide in hell for ever,

Your Lord is Aware of them and of their punishment.

The verse 6:128 in different translations

QARIB:

On the day when he assembles them all together, ‘o company of jinn, you have seduced mankind in great numbers.‘

And their guided ones among the humans will say: ‘lord, we have enjoyed each other.

But now we have reached the term which you have appointed for us. ‘He will say: ‘the fire shall be your lodging, and there you shall remain for ever except as Allah will.‘

Your lord is wise, knowing.

SHAKIR:

And on the day when he shall gather them all together: o assembly of jinn! You took away a great part of mankind.

And their friends from among the men shall say: our lord! Some of us profited by others and we have reached our appointed term which thou didst appoint for us.

He shall say: the fire is your abode, to abide in it, except as Allah is pleased; surely your lord is wise, knowing

PICKTHAL:

In the day when he will gather them together (he will say): o ye assembly of the jinn! Many of humankind did ye seduce.

And their adherents among humankind will say: our lord! We enjoyed one another, but now we have arrived at the appointed term which thou appointedst for us.

He will say: fire is your home. Abide therein for ever, save him whom Allah willeth (to deliver).

Lo! Thy lord is wise, Aware.

YUSUFALI:

One day will he gather them all together, (and say): “o ye assembly of jinns! Much (toll) did ye take of men.”

Their friends amongst men will say: “our lord! We made profit from each other: but (alas!) we reached our term – which thou didst appoint for us.”

He will say: “the fire be your dwelling-place: you will dwell therein for ever, except as Allah willeth.”

For thy lord is full of wisdom and knowledge.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (88) man will end in either Hell or Paradise

Allah will punish any unbeliever on the face of the Earth wherever and whenever he is and he will dwell in the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife.   For the believers is the abode of peace with their Lord; they will be safe from the whisperings of their enemies.  Theirs will be the dwelling of Eternal Paradise in the Afterlife.

——————————————-

In the previous articles, each one of the chief leaders and wealthy among the unbelievers of Mecca wanted to be a messenger of Allah; otherwise they would not believe in Allah, in the Prophet Muhammad and in the Quran.

They used to treat the Prophet Muhammad and the small Muslim society very cruelly.

Allah knew that they were too arrogant to believe.

Allah knew that they were too proud of themselvest to see the light of Islam

That iis why, Allah casts Satan, that is, He gives him authority, over those who do not believe, and thus,

Allah laid ignominy upon their hearts and He will punish them for their denial and disbelief and they will dwell in the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife.

It should be emphasized that this is the outcome of any unbeliever on the face of the Earth wherever and whenever he is.

But, what is the outcome of the believers?

Ayah 6:126 says:

And this path that you follow, O Muhammad, is the path of your Lord, a straight one, a just path with no crookedness therein

it is also said that this means: the Islam is the religion of your Lord which He is pleased with; it is straight and well established.

Allah have detailed and elucidated His revelations i.e. the Quran, by explaining the command and prohibitions, the causes of humiliation and the reasons for honour for the people who heed admonition, for the people who understand and therefore believe.

Ayah 6:127 says:

For the believers is the abode of peace with their Lord; they will be safe from the whisperings of their enemies.

Allah will be their Protecting Helper.

Theirs will be the abode of Eternal Paradise

Allah Bestows upon them honour and reward because of what they used to do in the life of this world.

126) and this is the path of your lord, (a) right (path); indeed we have made the communications clear for a people who mind

127) they shall have the abode of peace with their lord, and he is their guardian because of what they did

PICKTHAL:

126) this is the path of thy lord, a straight path. we have detailed our revelations for a people who take heed.

127) for them is the abode of peace with their lord. he will be their protecting friend because of what they used to do.

YUSUFALI:

126) this is the way of thy lord, leading straight: we have detailed the signs for those who receive admonition.

127) for them will be a home of peace in the presence of their lord: he will be their friend, because they practised (righteousness).

Chapter 6 of the Quran (84) Hamzah and Abu Jahl

One day, while the Prophet Muhammad was praying and prostrating unto Allah; Abu Jahl had thrown the waste of an animal on his back. Hamzah was informed about the deed of Abu Jahl upon his return from hunting and he still had his bow in his hand.

——————————————-

The background of Ayah 6:122 is a real story that has two characters; they are:

Hamzah, the uncle of Muhammad; when Hamzah was not a believer yet.

Abu Jahl, one of the big enemies of the Prophet Muhammad. He used to deal with Muhammad very cruelly.

One day, while the Prophet Muhammad was praying and prostrating unto Allah; Abu Jahl had thrown the waste of an animal on his back.

Hamzah was informed about the deed of Abu Jahl upon his return from hunting and he still had his bow in his hand.

Hamzah went straight to Abu Jahl and hit him with his bow.

Abu Jahl said to Hamza: ‘O brother, do you not see what uhammad has brought; he has ridiculed our religion, reviled our idols and opposed our forefathers’.

Hamzah responded: ‘And who is more foolish than you? You worship stones instead of Allah.

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, without associates, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger’.

And then Allah, revealed this verse.

Ayah 6:122 says:

is he who was dead (Hamzah) , through unbelief, and  Allah gave him life, through guidance, and honoured him with faith and appointed for him a light by which to walk among people, distinguishing thereby the truth from falsehood; is he as the disbeliever (Abu Jahl) whose likeness is in darkness whence he cannot emerge?

No! So, in the same way that faith has been adorned for believers, what the disbelievers have been doing, in the way of disbelief and acts of disobedience, has been adorned for them.

As for Abu Jahl, he cannot free himself from disbelief and error in this world or from the darkness of the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife. And so is the outcome of the disbelievers.

The verse 6:122 in different translations

QARIB:

Is he who was dead whom we have revived and given a light with which he walks among people to be compared to him who blunders about in darkness from which he will never emerge? as such what the unbelievers have done appear decorated to them.

SHAKIR:

Is he who was dead then we raised him to life and made for him a light by which he walks among the people, like him whose likeness is that of one in utter darkness whence he cannot come forth? thus what they did was made fair seeming to the unbelievers

PICKTHAL:

Is he who was dead and we have raised him unto life, and set for him a light wherein he walketh among men, as him whose similitude is in utter darkness whence he cannot emerge? thus is their conduct made fairseeming for the disbelievers.

YUSUFALI:

Can he who was dead, to whom we gave life, and a light whereby he can walk amongst men, be like him who is in the depths of darkness, from which he can never come out? thus to those without faith their own deeds seem pleasing.
