Atheists in Quran (23) Allah has no need of them

If you disbelieve, Allah has no need of you; however, be aware that the ultimate end of your journey is to Allah. There can be neither escape from Him nor refuge with anyone else. You can hide nothing from Him.

———————————

The verse 39:7 declares some basic but essential facts To Whom It May Concern

The verse talks about:

  • What if you disbelieve
  • What if you believe
  • Will you bear the sins of another one
  • What is your ultimate end?

What will happen if you disbelieve or if you believe?

If you disbelieve, Allah has no need of you; nor is He pleased with your disbelief

If you believe and give thanks, Allah is pleased with you.

If you disbelieve in Muhammad and in the Quran and you are thankless, Allah is Independent of you. Allah is not in need of your faith, though:

  • He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen
  • He is not pleased with disbelief in Muhammad and in the Quran, because disbelief is not His religion

If you are ungrateful, indeed Allah is Independent of you, though He does not approve of ungratefulness for His servants

If you believe and give thanks, to Allah, He is pleased therewith for you He will approve such thankfulness, for you and accept it from you because that is His religion.

If you believe, you will not increase His kingdom in any way. If you disbelieve, this too will not affect His kingdom in any adverse way. He, however, does not like people to disbelieve.

By contrast, “lf you give thanks, He is pleased with you.” He will accept this from you and reward you generously for it.

Will you bear the sins of another one?

No burdened soul shall bear the burden of another soul, in other words, it will not bear the responsibility for it.

No laden soul will bear another’s load

No soul will bear the sins of another;

No soul will be taken to task for the sins of another soul, for each soul will be taken to task for its own sins;

Allah will not punish any soul for no crime.

Everyone is accountable for his or her own deeds, and none will be held responsible for another one, nor will he be allowed to take upon himself part of another’s burden

What is your ultimate end?

Then to your Lord will be your return, whereat He will inform you of what you used to do.

Unto Allah, your Lord is your return after death; then He will tell you on the Day of Judgment what you used to do and what you used to say in the life of this world.

Indeed, Allah is Knower of what is in the breasts of men of good and evil, Allah is Knower of what is in the hearts of men.

In conclusion, the ultimate end of your journey is to Allah. There can be neither escape from Him nor refuge with anyone else. You can hide nothing from Him

———————————

The verse 39:7 in different translations:

QARIB:

If you disbelieve, Allah is rich, independent of you. yet he does not approve of disbelief to his worshipers, but if you believe he will approve it in you. no laden soul shall bear another’s load. then, to Allah you shall return and he will tell to you what you have done. he knows the innermost of your chests.

SHAKIR:

If you are ungrateful, then surely Allah is self-sufficient above all need of you; and he does not like ungratefulness in his servants; and if you are grateful, he likes it in you; and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another; then to your Lord is your return, then will he inform you of what you did; surely he is cognizant of what is in the breasts

PICKTHAL:

If ye are thankless, yet Allah is independent of you, though he is not pleased with thanklessness for his bondmen; and if ye are thankful he is pleased therewith for you. no laden soul will bear another’s load. then unto your Lord is your return; and he will tell you what ye used to do. lo! he knoweth what is in the breasts (of men).

YUSUFALI:

If ye reject (Allah), truly Allah hath no need of you; but he liketh not ingratitude from his servants: if ye are grateful, he is pleased with you. no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. in the end, to your Lord is your return, when he will tell you the truth of all that ye did (in this life). for he knoweth well all that is in (men’s) hearts.

Atheists in Quran (22) their reward = Woe

The Atheists among the Arabs said to the believers in the Prophet Muhammad ‘If there is Hereafter, then we will receive the same reward as that which you will receive’.  The Quran declares that their reward is Woe.

———————————

The verses 38:27-28 set some facts,

The creation of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them was not without purpose. Their creation is based on the truth and for a definite intent.

Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in vain, frivolously or for no particular purpose.

This is the supposition of the Atheists who disbelieve. That is the opinion of the Atheists who deny the resurrection after death.

So woe to the disbelievers from the Eternal Fire!

Severe chastisement is awaiting for them.

The creation of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is based on the truth and for a definite intent.

The Atheists cannot imagine such truth and facts because they do not relate to the great truth on which the universe is based. Henceforth, they entertain ill thoughts about their Lord.

Moreover, they will not understand the truth: “That is what the unbelievers assume. Woe betide the unbelievers when they are cast in the fire.” (Verse 27)

The truth embodied in Allah’s blessed book is for people with insight and understanding so that they can study its verses and reflect on the essential facts of existence.

  • Are the good deeds equated with the corruption
  • Is Allah-fearing equated with the wicked

The Atheists among the Arabs at the time of the Prophet Muhammad said to the believers:

‘In the Hereafter we will receive the same [reward] as that which you will receive’

Then Allah revealed the verse 38:28, it says:

  • Shall Allah treat those who believe n Muhammad and in the Quran and perform righteous deeds obedience between themselves and their Lord like those who do not believe and cause corruption in the earth; or
  • Shall Allah treat the God-fearing like the profligate?
  • Shall Allah treat the Pious who ward off disbelief, indecent acts, like the wicked unbelievers

———————————

The verses 38:27-28 in different translations:

QARIB:

27-It was not in falsehood that we created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. that is the thought of the unbelievers. but woe to the unbelievers because of the fire!

28-Are we to make those who believe and do good works the same as those who corrupt the earth? are we to make the righteous as the wicked?

SHAKIR:

27-And we did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire

28-Shall we treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? or shall we make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked?

PICKTHAL:

27-And we created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. that is the opinion of those who disbelieve. and woe unto those who disbelieve, from the fire!

28-Shall we treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; or shall we treat the pious as the wicked?

YUSUFALI:

27-Not without purpose did we create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of unbelievers! but woe to the unbelievers because of the fire (of hell)!

28-Shall we treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? shall we treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right?

Atheists in Quran (20) their limited scope

The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe (because of their abject poverty for example).

However, those who believe shall be above them on the Day of Resurrection; and Allah sustains whomever He will without reckoning.

———————————————–

Allah bestows His abundance without measures on whom He will.

Allah’s favors in this world seem unequal, and sometimes those get them who seem to deserve them least.

The verse 2:212 contrasts believers and Atheists, and the difference in their outlook.

This life, with its ephemeral interests and enjoyments, is all that the unbelievers know and aspire to. They are unable to see beyond the here-and now.

They know of no greater values or aspirations other than those of life on this earth.

Consequently, their scope is limited and they are underprivileged of the higher understanding and greater reward experienced by believers.

A believer seeks more from life than mere material or sensual enjoyment.

Believers look beyond their selfish egotistic needs and desires.

From the point of view of a person who only thinks of this life’s concerns and worldly affairs, that might seem strange or even ludicrous.

Hence, it may induce scorn and derision from unbelievers.

However, what justification could there be for such a reaction?

The unbelievers’ opinion is erroneous and utterly false. It is the view of unbelief and ignorance.

The true measure is that of Allah.

Allah said:

“Those who fear Allah shall be above them in rank on the Day of Resurrection”.

Believers should uphold their faith and disregard the mockery and scorn of the unbelievers.

Believers have Allah’s word that they shall occupy a higher position than the unbelievers shall on the Day of Resurrection,

That shall be the final Judgment.

What Allah has in store for believers is far better and far more favorable.

Allah will reward the believers in abundance as He wish and as He will here either in this life or in the Afterlife.

“Allah grants sustenance to whom He wills beyond all reckoning.”

Allah is the gracious giver who gives directly, generously and with no restriction.

Allah’s bounty in unlimited to the just as well as the unjust in the life of this world.

In His wisdom, He may give to whomsoever He pleases.

However, the account is not taken in the life of this world, but will be taken in the end of man’s journey, when the balance will be redressed at the Day of Judgment.

In His infinite wisdom, He may give to those who do not believe much of the comforts and allurements of this world.

What He grants them is not based on any merit they may have. He also gives to the believers whatever He chooses to grant them both in this life and in the life to come. He is the sole benefactor and His choice is right, wise and most durable.

The two types of human being — believers who take their guidance and advice from Allah, and others for whom this life is the be-all and end-all, can be found in every age and every generation.

———————————————–

The verse 2:212 in different translations:

QARIB:

For those who disbelieve, the worldly life is decked with all manner of decorations. They scoff at those who believe, but the cautious shall be above them on the day of resurrection. Allah gives without count to whom he will.

SHAKIR:

The life of this world is made to seem fair to those who disbelieve, and they mock those who believe, and those who guard (against evil) shall be above them on the day of resurrection; and Allah gives means of subsistence to whom he pleases without measure

PICKTHAL:

Beautified is the life of the world for those who disbelieve; they make a jest of the believers. But those who keep their duty to Allah will be above them on the day of resurrection. Allah giveth without stint to whom he will.

YUSUFALI:

The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the day of resurrection; for Allah bestows his abundance without measure on whom he will.

Atheists in Quran (18) their deeds by Atomic weight

The Quran stimulates the knowledgeable scientific-minded Atheists to think about how Muhammad, the illiterate Arabic man talked about the Atomic weight and the Sub-Atomic weight more than 1400 years ago.

———————————————–

The meanings of the verse 34:3 of the Noble Quran:

The Atheistssay, “The Hour, the Resurrection, will never come to us”

Say, to them O Muhammad:

  1. Yes indeed, it shall come to you
  2. By my Lord, it shall come to you (Allah swore by Himself; He is the Ruler of the Day of Judgment.)
  3. By the Knower of the Unseen who knows what is hidden from people, it shall come to you
  4. Not even the weight of an atom escapes,
  5. Not even the weight of an atom is hidden from Allah in the heavens or in the earth,
  6. Nor is there anything smaller than that (than an Atom) or greater as regard the works of the servants, but:
  • it is in a clear Record
  • it is in a Manifest Book, namely, the Preserved Tablet
  • it is well preserved in the Guarded Tablet

This verse is to realize the position of The Atheists in Allah’s great Universe.

There is nothing more certain in the world, physical, moral, and spiritual, than that every act, great or small, must have its corresponding consequences.

Everything, greater or small, will receive due recognition-a Reward for Good and a Punishment for Evil.

In this verse, the Quran talks about:

  • The Atomic weight and
  • The Sub-Atomic weight

This may excite the intellectual scientific-minded Atheists to think about how Muhammad, the illiterate Arabic man talked about the Atomic weight and the Sub-Atomic weight more than 1400 years ago.

———————————————–

The verse 34:3 in different translations:

QARIB:

The unbelievers say: ‘the hour will never come to us. ‘Say: ‘by my Lord, yes, it is surely coming to you! By him who knows the unseen, not even the weight of an atom in heavens and earth escapes him; neither is there anything smaller than that, nor greater except that it is in a clear book,

SHAKIR:

And those who disbelieve say: the hour shall not come upon us. say: yea! by my Lord, the knower of the unseen, it shall certainly come upon you; not the weight of an atom becomes absent from him, in the heavens or in the earth, and neither less than that nor greater, but (all) is in a clear book

PICKTHAL:

Those who disbelieve say: the hour will never come unto us. say: nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (he is) the knower of the unseen. not an atom’s weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear record,

YUSUFALI:

The unbelievers say, “never to us will come the hour”: say, “nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by him who knows the unseen,- from whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the record perspicuous:

Atheists in Quran (17) their power = naught

Muslims were scared of the might of the unbelievers; they flee from fear to more fear. Allah’s Law is “Do not fear the might of the Atheists if you believe in Allah, the Almighty”. Adopting this law, Muslims won and the unbelievers defeated

———————————

The background of the verse 24:57

Muslims flee from fear to more fear

At the beginning of Islam, Muslims were scared of the might of the unbelievers.

The unbelievers were very violent striking the Muslims with all kinds oftorment

Then, the Muslims left their houses, possessions, money etc. and migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah in an attempt to flee from the mighty unbelievers.

I will let Abu al-Aliyah (one of Muhammad’s fellows) to describe the Muslims’ situation, he said:

“The Prophet Muhammad and his Companions remained in Makkah for around ten years calling on people to believe in Allah and to worship Him alone, associating no partners with Him.

However, they did so in secret, as they were in a state of fear of the unbelievers who were very violent with the little Muslims community. Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad has prevented us from fighting. When the Muslims later migrated to Al- Madinah, Allah bid them to fight back for their cause. This meant that they were again in a state of more fear, wearing their body armor day and night. They persevered for as long as Allah willed.

One of his Companions asked the Prophet: Are we to remain in such fear for the rest of time? Will there comes a time when we can put our armaments aside?’

The Prophet said: ‘It will not be long before any one of you can sit among a huge crowd without anyone carrying arms.’

Soon afterwards, Allah revealed this verse. The Prophet was able to establish his authority over the whole of Arabia and his followers were in a state of security. They put down their arms”.

The verse 24:57 says:

Do not Think O Muhammad that the unbelievers can escape from Allah’s punishment both in the life of this world and in the Hereafter

For their abode will be the Eternal Fire; it is surely an evil destination, the worst abode for anyone. A hapless journey’s end

The verse confirms that the unbelievers cannot defy Allah. They will receive their fair punishment in this life and in the Afterlife.

Allah says to the believers: if you remain steadfast, following My path, then you need not worry about the might of the unbelievers. The power they apparently wield will not stand in your way. You are far stronger when equipped with your faith.

In material power, you may not be a match for them, but believers who strive for the truth can work miracles.

Back to 1400 years ago,

The unbelievers were more than 30 times the believers in respect to their:

  • Populations
  • Equipment
  • Army force
  • Wealth
  • Etc.

However, Allah as He promised defeated them in this life and you will see the fulfilment of his promise in the Afterlife.

Allah’s Law is:

Do not fear the might of the Atheists if you believe that the Almighty exists.

No wonder then that “the Prophet Muhammad was able to establish his authority over the whole of Arabia”

(Quoted from Abu al-Aliyah)

———————————

The verse 24:57 in different translations:

QARIB:

Never think that the unbelievers will be able to frustrate (us) in the earth. their refuge is the fire, an evil arrival.

SHAKIR:

Think not that those who disbelieve shall escape in the earth, and their abode is the fire; and certainly evil is the resort!

PICKTHAL:

Think not that the disbelievers can escape in the land. fire will be their home – a hapless journey’s end!

YUSUFALI:

Never think thou that the unbelievers are going to frustrate (Allah’s plan) on earth: their abode is the fire,- and it is indeed an evil refuge!

Atheists in Quran (11) have they read the History

The Quran asks the Atheists three questions, 1) Have not the stories of those who rejected Faith aforetime reached you? 2) Do not you realize that Allah is free of all needs? 3) You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment?

The Quran gives the answers to those who like to know.

———————————

The verses 64:5-7 ask the Atheists three questions

The first Question:

Have not the stories of those who rejected Faith aforetime reached you?

Have not the stories of

  • Noah and the flood that swept all the Atheists
  • Aad and Thamood
  • Abraham and Nimrod
  • Moses and Pharaoh
  • Etc.

Have not these stories reached you?

Have not you read the History?

Do you know what happened to the ancient Atheists?

They tasted the evil result of their conduct in the life of this world and they had a grievous Penalty.

That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Sign; However, they said:

“Shall (mere) human beings direct us?”

So, they rejected (the Message) and turned away.

They tasted the punishment for disbelief in the life of this world.

Moreover, the evil result of their conduct in the Afterlife is awaiting for them; its culminating force will be exhibited in the grievous Penalty of the Hereafter.

The second Question:

Do not the Atheists realize that Allah, the worthy of all praise, is free of all needs?

If all human beings are believers, this will not increase Allah’s kingdom by one inch.

If all human beings are unbelievers, this will not decrease Allah’s kingdom by one inch.

O Atheists, Your obedience is not necessary to Allah, nor will your rejection of Truth affect the validity of Truth or injure the progress of Truth.

Allah is free of all needs or dependence on any circumstance whatever.

He sends His Message for the good of mankind, and it is man who suffers by ignoring, rejecting, or opposing it.

The third Question:

O Atheists, You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment.

In other words, you think that there is no future

life, and no responsibility for your actions beyond what you see in the present life.

If that were true, all the profits of fraud and roguery, which remain unpunished in this

world-and many do remain unpunished in this world-will remain with the wicked; and all the losses and pain suffered by integrity and righteousness, if they find no compensation in this life, will never find any compensation.

This would be an odd result in a world of justice. Muslims are taught:

  • That this is not true,
  • That it is certain that the balance will be redressed in a better future world;
  • That there will be a resurrection of the dead; and

O Atheists, You think that you will not be raised up for Judgment.

Verily, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that you did. And that is easy for Allah.”

———————————

Allah, the Almighty Creator, created all men,

Some are good and others are evil,

You wonder how the good do suffer and the evil succeed,

Remember the Final Goal, when true corrections will be made

The gainers here will be the Losers there,

The Losers here will be the Gainers there.

Good will get more than its full reward

For Allah is Bounteous, Merciful, Mighty, Wise.

———————————

The verses 64:5-7 in different translations:

QARIB:

5-Have you not heard the news of those before you who disbelieved? they tasted the mischief of their action, and for them is a painful punishment.

6-That is because, when their messengers came to them with clear proofs they said: ‘shall humans be our guides? ‘ they disbelieved and turned away, but Allah was not in need (of them). Allah is the rich and the praised.

7-The unbelievers think that they will never be raised up. say: ‘by my Lord, yes indeed, you shall assuredly be raised up! then you shall be told of all that you have done. that is easy for Allah. ‘

SHAKIR:

5-Has there not come to you the story of those who disbelieved before, then tasted the evil result of their conduct, and they had a painful punishment?

6-That is because there came to them their messengers with clear arguments, but they said: shall mortals guide us? so they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is self-sufficient, praised

7-Those who disbelieve think that they shall never be raised. say: aye! by my Lord! you shall most certainly be raised, then you shall most certainly be informed of what you did; and that is easy to Allah

PICKTHAL:

5-Hath not the story reached you of those who disbelieved of old and so did taste the ill-effects of their conduct, and theirs will be a painful doom.

6-That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s sovereignty), but they said: shall mere mortals guide us? so they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is absolute, owner of praise.

7-Those who disbelieve assert that they will not be raised again. say (unto them, o muhammad): yea, verily, by my Lord! ye will be raised again and then ye will be informed of what ye did; and that is easy for Allah.

YUSUFALI:

5-Has not the story reached you, of those who rejected faith aforetime? so they tasted the evil result of their conduct; and they had a grievous penalty.

6-That was because there came to them messengers with clear signs, but they said: “shall (mere) human beings direct us?” so they rejected (the message) and turned away. but Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise.

7-The unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for judgment). say: “yea, by my Lord, ye shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. and that is easy for Allah.”

Atheists in Quran (1) Noah and the Atheists

The history of Atheists is deep-rooted ever since the time of the Prophet Noah.

Chapter 23 of the Noble Quran discloses the story of the great Prophet Noah and the Atheists.

The meanings of the verses 23:23-24:

Verily Allah sent Noah to his people to tell them:

  • My people, worship God, obey God and profess Allah’s divine Oneness.
  • You have no other god besides Him
  • You have no other god save the One in whom I command you to believe
  • Will you not then fear Him?
  • Will you not then fear His punishment in worshipping gods other than Him?
  • Will you not ward off evil the worship of other than Allah?

However, the chieftains Atheists among his folk, said to their followers:

  • Noah would like to make himself superior to you by claiming his message and prophet hood
  • Noah is only a mortal, a human being like you.
  • This is just a human being like you who desires to gain superiority, to have the honor, over you, by acquiring followers, you being his followers
  • And had God willed, that none other than Him be worshipped,

He surely would have sent down angels, with that Message, and not assigned a human being for it.

  • We have not heard that which Noah is saying in the time of our fathers of old.
  • We never heard of such, an affirmation of God’s Oneness as that which Noah summons us, among our ancestors or among past communities.

To be continued.

———————————

The verses 23:23-24 in different translations:

QARIB:

23-We sent Noah to his nation. ‘Worship Allah, my nation, ‘ he said, ‘for you have no god except He. Will you not be cautious? ‘

24-The unbelieving assembly of his nation said: ‘this is but a human like you, who desires to gain superiority over you. had Allah willed, he could have sent down angels. we never heard of this among our ancient forefathers.

SHAKIR:

23-And certainly we sent nuh to his people, and he said: o my people! Serve Allah, you have no god other than him; will you not then guard (against evil)?

24-And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: he is nothing but a mortal like yourselves who desires that he may have superiority over you, and if Allah had pleased, he could certainly have sent down angels. we have not heard of this among our fathers of yore:

PICKTHAL:

23-And we verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: o my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save him. Will ye not ward off (evil)?

24-But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: this is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, he surely could have sent down angels. we heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old.

YUSUFALI:

23- (Further, we sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: he said, “o my people! Worship Allah! ye have no other god but him. Will ye not fear (him)?”

24-The chiefs of the unbelievers among his people said: “he is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), he could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old.”

The Atom in Bible vs. Quran vs. Science

One of the inherited doctrines of humankind is that the “Quran is quoted or borrowed from the Bible”

In this series of articles, I will try to explore this Dogma on scientific basis to show up its legitimacy.

In the present topic of Atom, one may ask this:

Is it true that the Quran quoted from the Bible?

In addition, which book precedes the sciences? The book that mentioned the atom and the atomic weight for six times or the book that mentions neither the atom nor the atomic weight?

Before dealing with the topic of the, it may be fruitful to give some statistical hints. The total words in the Bible are 788,280 while total words in the Quran are 77,473.

It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran referring to the number of words.

In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times than the Quran to exhibit its goods. Back to the Atom and Atomic weight, they are not mentioned in the Bible and they are mentioned six times in the Quran.

—————————————

the Atom and Atomic weight in the Bible:

When we search the Bible; we find that

1) No results would be found for atom,

2) No results would be found for atomic weight 3) No results would be found for subatomic Atomic weight. It follows that, the Bible does not mention the “Atom” or the “Atomic Weight” or the “Sub-Atomic Weight” On the other hand, the Quran is the first written book on the earth that mentions the “atom”, “atomic weight”, and “Sub-Atomic Weight”

—————————————

Atom in the Quran:

The existence of particles smaller than the Atom: In ancient times, a well-known theory named ‘Theory of Atomism’ was widely acknowledged. Democritus, the Greek about 23 centuries ago, originally anticipated this theory. Democritus and the scholars who came after him, postulated that the smallest unit of matter was the atom.

The Arabs used to believe the same. The Arabic word “zarrah” most commonly meant an atom. In recent times, modern scientists have discovered that it is likely to split even an atom. The scientific development of the 20th century shows that the atom splits further to something smaller than the Atom.

Fourteen centuries ago, this notion would have appeared unusual even to both the Greeks and the Arabs. For both the Atom and “zarrah” was the limit beyond which one could not go further. Nevertheless, the Noble Quran refuses to accept this limit that is put by the Greeks and the Arabs.

In Surah 34:3

“The Unbelievers say, “Never to us will come the Hour”: say, “Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you; – by Him Who knows the unseen – from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the Heavens or on earth: nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but (all) is recorded in a clear and profound book”.

This verse replied the Unbelievers who denied the “Hour” (the Day of Judgment and the afterlife).

The verse refers to the Omniscience of Allah,

Allah knows everything both hidden and apparent.

Allah is aware of everything, including what is smaller or bigger than the atom.

Thus, the verse 34:3 clearly shows that it is possible for something smaller than the atom to exist.

This scientific fact has discovered after the revelation of the Quran by 1350 years.

The subatomic weight in the Noble Quran: In Surah 10:61 “In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur’an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We are witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) And not the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven the sky escapeth your Lord, nor what is less than that or greater than that , but it is recorded ( written ) in a clear profound record (Book) “.

In Surah 34:22

“Say (O Muhammad): ” Call upon those whom ye assert (set up) besides Allah: they have no power – not the weight of an atom – in the heavens or on earth; no (sort of) share have they therein, nor is any of them a helper to Allah.” This is the Quranic teachings that give us a productive scientific hint about the subatomic weight,

Furthermore, the Quran gives us an advice to use this scientific hint in our life. How small the atom is?

If we know that every work we are doing even if it is smaller than an atom will be recorded and we will see it in the afterlife and either get rewarded or punished for it, then tell me how would be the style of mankind’s life if we believe in these Quranic teachings. If we read this verse in Surah 99:6 “On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the Deeds that they had done” This verse determines the final outcome for each of us. In Surah 99:7 “Then shall anyone who has done an atom’s weight of good, see it!” In Surah 99:8 “And anyone who has done an atom’s weight of evil, shall see it.” In conclusion, the Quran is the first book On Earth that mentions these three topics; 1) The Atom, 2) The Atomic weight and 3) The subatomic weight. No book before the Quran mentioned these three topics together. The thing is that the Quran is not a scientific book to give us detailed sophisticated scientific expression.

Nevertheless, the Quran uses these three topics for faith and religious purposes.

This unique style of the Quran is just to make you aware of three very important issues; they are:

1) Allah know everything, whatever it is, even if it is too smaller than the subatomic weight,

2) Our work even if it is too smaller than the subatomic weight is recorded and we will see it in the afterlife and

3) In the afterlife, the reward or punishment for our work will be the most fair because it weighs our deeds even if they are smaller than the subatomic weight. Good rewards and the forever-paradise for the good work. “Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.” Bad punishments and the forever fire for the bad work. “And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” Not only that, but Allah is the most generous; Allah will double the reward for the good deed. In Surah 4:40 “Allah is never unjust in the weight of an atom: if there is any good (done) He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward.” It follows that whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it and get rewarded double time for it.

Back to our main issue; one may ask this: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible. In addition, which book precedes the sciences? The book which mentioned the atom , the atomic weight and the subatomic weight 6 times or the book which does not mention at all neither the atom or the atomic weight or the subatomic weight?

The Shadow in Bible vs. Quran

In the Bible, God the Almighty Creator has a shadow; also, the Angels, the Death, the evening etc. have shadows.

On the other hand, the Quran talks about two Historical Shadows and the Shadow at the Day of Judgment for the believers and the unbelievers; also, the Quran gives some scientific facts about the Shadow.

The Bible talks about:

1)     The Lord God has a shadow

2)     What is in heaven has Shadow

3)     The Shadow of death, its valley and its land

4)     The Evening Shadows that grow long

5)     The Deep shadow that ring the eyes

6)     The Shadow goes forward or backward ten steps

7)     Our Life is shadow

8)     Some other Biblical facts about the Shadow

The Quran talks about:

1) Two Historical Shadows

2) Scientific facts about the Shadow

3) The Shadow at the Day of Judgment

4) The Shadow for the believers and the unbelievers in the Afterlife

——————————————

The Shadow in the Bible:

The Shadow is mentioned 51 in the Bible and 19 times in the Quran.

Upon talking about the Shadow, the Bible declares that:

  • God has a shadow,
  • God’s hand has a shadow,
  • God’s wings have shadow, and
  • God does not change like shifting shadows.

In addition, the Bible says that “What is in heaven has Shadow”. It is known that the Angels are in the heaven; have they shadows too like their Creator.

Moreover, the Bible talks about the death has shadow and there are the valley of the shadow of death and the land of the shadow of the death.

In addition, the Bible talks about the evening has shadows, there are deep shadows, the Shadow and the ten steps etc.

In fact, most of the above especially God, Angels and death have no shadow(s) at all!

If God has a shadow, then He is a body like us!

The Angels are created from light, has the light a shadow?

In addition, does anyone see the shadow of the death?

Like a slave longing for the evening shadows, or a hired man waiting eagerly for his wages,

Nehemiah 13:19

When evening shadows fell on the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I ordered the doors to be shut and not opened until the Sabbath was over. I stationed some of my own men at the gates so that no load could be brought in on the Sabbath day.

Isaiah 59:9

So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.

6) The Shadow goes forward or backward ten steps

2 Kings 20:9

“This is the Lord’s sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?”

——————————————

The Shadow in the Quran:

The Quran talks about:

1) Two Historical Shadows

2) Scientific facts about the Shadow

3) The Shadow at the Day of Judgment

4) The Shadow for the believers and the unbelievers in the Afterlife

1) Two Historical Shadows

The Quran mentions two important Historical Shadows;

One of them is the Shadow for Moses and the Israelites and

The other is the Shadow for the deniers of the Prophet “Shu’aib” and their grievous day of punishment.

These two Historical Shadows are not mentioned in the Bible.

a-The Shadow for Moses and the Israelites

Surah 28:24

So he (Moses) watered (their flock) for them. Then he turned aside into the shade, and said: my Lord! i am needy of whatever good thou sendest down for me.

Surah 7:160

We divided them into twelve tribes, nations; and we inspired Moses, when his people asked him for water, saying: smite with thy staff the rock! And there gushed forth therefrom twelve springs, so that each tribe knew their drinking-place. And we caused the white cloud to overshadow them and sent down for them the manna and the quails (saying): eat of the good things wherewith we have provided you. They wronged us not, but they were wont to wrong themselves.

Surah 7:171

and when we shook the mountain over them as if it were a covering overhead, and they thought that it was going to fall down upon them: take hold of what we have given you with firmness, and be mindful of what is in it, so that you may guard (against evil)

Surah 2:57

And We gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: “Eat of the good things We have provided for you:” (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own selves.

b-The Shadow for the deniers of the Prophet “Shu’aib”

The Shadow furnished for people of the Prophet “Shu’aib” who denied him and their grievous day of punishment.

The Prophet “Shu’aib” is never mentioned in the Bible.

Is that because He was Arabic?

Surah 26:189

But they rejected and denied him (Shu’aib) and called him a liar (Shu’aib) then the punishment of the day of overshadowing gloom seized them, surely it was the punishment of a grievous day

2) Scientific facts about the Shadow:

Allah extends the shade; if He pleases, He would certainly have made it stationary and then have made the sun an indication of it.

Scientifically speaking, the shade will be stationary when the Earth stops its circular movement about itself. In such case, half of the Earth will be day and the other will be night.

So, the sun is the indicator for such event. Who could do that? It is Allah the Creator of the Sun.

Surah 25:45

Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how he extends the shade? And if he had pleased he would certainly have made it stationary; then we have made the sun an indication of it

All things that Allah has created have their shadows and prostrate unto Him.

Surah 16:48

Have they not observed all things that Allah hath created, how their shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration unto Allah, and they are lowly?

Surah 16:81

it is Allah who made out of the things he created, some things to give you shade; of the hills he made some for your shelter; he made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. thus does he complete his favors on you, that ye may bow to his will (in Islam).

Surah 35:19-21

19 and the blind and the seeing are not alike

20 nor the darkness and the light,

21 nor is the shadow equal with the sun’s full heat;

3) The Shadow at the Day of Judgment

At that horrible day, everything is already judged in justice.

Man is one of two, believer or unbeliever; each one has his own Shadow.

The Coming of Allah:

Surah 2:210

Wait they for naught else than that Allah should come unto them in the shadows of the clouds with the angels? Then the case would be already judged. All cases go back to Allah (for judgment).

4) The Shadow for the believers and the unbelievers in the Afterlife

The Shadow for those who believe; this meaning is not mentioned in the Bible.

Surah 4:57

And as for those who believe and do good works, we shall make them enter gardens underneath which rivers flow – to dwell therein forever; there for them are pure companions – and we shall make them enter plenteous shadow.

Surah 36:56

They and their associates will be in a pleasant shadow, reclining on thrones (of dignity);

Surah 76:14

And the shades of the (garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility (being easy to reach).

Surah 56:30

In shade long-extended,

Surah 77:41

As to the righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water).

The Shadow for those who do not believe;

This implication is not cited in the Bible

Surah 56:43

And the shade of black smoke

Surah 77: 28-31

28 ah woe, that day, to the rejecters of truth!

29 (it will be said 🙂 “Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false!

30 “depart ye to a shadow (of smoke ascending) in three branches,

31 “(which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce blaze.

32 indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as palaces,

Surah 56:43

And the shade of black smoke

The following verse summarizes the Shadow for the believers and the unbelievers.

Surah 13:35

a likeness of the garden which the righteous are promised; there now beneath it rivers, its food and shades are perpetual; this is the requital of those who guarded (against evil), and the requital of the unbelievers is the fire.

It is very important to declare that anyone believes that the Lord God, the Almighty Creator, has a shadow, hand and/or wings then he surely is unbeliever, he will dwell in the Eternal Hell in the Afterlife forever, and he made Paradise forbidden for him.
