Angels in Islam (27) Gabriel conveyed Allah’s message

The great Angel Gabriel conveyed Allah’s message to His entire Prophets.

The event of the first revelation of the Quran is mentioned in the Bible.

——————————————-

The duties of the Angels are many.

One of their important duties is to convey the revelation from Allah to His Messengers.

The great Angel Gabriel (Jibreel) is the one responsible for handing over Allah’s message to Allah’s Messengers and Prophets.

Gabriel conveyed Allah’s message to some thousands of Prophets which Allah sent.

Although the Quran mentions 25 Prophets by names, however; Allah sent at least one messenger to every nation from Adam up to Muhammad (the last one).

Gabriel conveyed Allah’s message to the Prophets Noah, Hood, Salih, Abraham, Lot, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Shu’aib, Moses, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Elisha, Jonah, Zachariah, John, Jesus etc.

Allah’s message to His entire Messengers and Prophets is the same that is there is no god but Allah and submit to Him.

Literally, submission to Allah means Islam

The story of the first revelation of the Quran

Essential background:

Muhammad was born and raised in Mecca, he was illiterate.

His family was very big power-wise and authority-wise.

However, he was concerned with the social conflict, injustice, widespread discrimination (principally against women and black people), fighting among tribes and abuse of ancestral authorities dominant in pre-Islamic Arabia. The moral deterioration of his fellow people, and the err religion of worshipping idols.

He never ever worshiped an idol

He used to spend many hours or few days in a cave sitting alone looking for his Creator and feeling sorry about his people who used to worship many different idols.

When He was 40 years and while he was in the cave, Gabriel appeared to him.

Gabriel gave him a piece of paper and commanded him to read what was written in it.

Muhammad said: I cannot read, I am not a reader

Gabriel hugged him powerfully, then left him and commanded him again to read what was written. Muhammad’s reply was the same.

The powerful Gabriel’s hug and his command repeated twice but yielding the same Muhammad’s reply.

Then Gabriel said:

Read! In the name of your Lord and Cherisher, He is the One Who created

He Created man, out of “Alaq”

Read! And your Lord is Most Bountiful,

Who taught man with the use of the pen,-

He taught man that which he knew not.

(The verses 96:1-5)

And this was the first revelation of the Quran.

To whom it may concern

The event of the first revelation of the Quran is mentioned in the Bible (Isaiah 29:12).

Attention: None of the Israelites’ prophets was illiterate!

Isaiah 29:12

21st Century King James Version

12- And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, “Read this, I pray thee”; and he saith, “I am not learned”.

Common English Bible:

12- And when the scroll is given to one who can’t read, saying, “Read this,” that one will say, “I can’t read.”

American Standard Version

12- And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned.

Amplified Bible

12- And when the book is given to him who is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray you, he says, I cannot read.

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (8) When is the Hour?

In the Bible, Jesus admits that he does not know when will be the Hour.

In the Quran, Muhammad admits that he does not know when will be the Hour.

—————————————

The verse Mark 13:32 determined the limitation of Jesus’ knowledge in comparison to God’s knowledge.

God gives His Angels and His Messengers their knowledge to carry on their Jobs.

God did not give His Angels and His Messengers the knowledge about when is the Day of Judgment which is called “the day” or “the hour”.

It seems likely that the people asked Jesus about the timing of the Hour.

In Mark 13:32, the Lord Jesus (Peace be upon Him) made this point clear and He declares that “nobody knows when that day or hour will come”.

And to shut down any door of misinterpretations of His Word, He further said: “not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father”.

The verse Mark 13:32 according to Contemporary English Version says:

“No one knows the day or the time. The angels in heaven don’t know, and the Son himself doesn’t know. Only the Father knows”.

the top Jewish Rabbis: Ask the Expert

On the other hand, the assembly of unbelievers of Mecca sent some of them to the top Jewish Rabbis telling them that there is a man (Muhammad) emerged in Mecca and he announces a new religion and that few people followed him and they are confused about this man; is he a true Prophet as he claims or he is a liar.

Why the people of Mecca asked the top Jewish Rabbis? Because they knew that they are the people of book and they are familiar with the prophets; it is a kind of asking the “Expert”

What the top Jewish Rabbis told them? Ask him four questions!

If he knows the answers, he is a Prophet and the vice versa. The first question was: “when will be the Hour”

Many people of Mecca which used to deny the Prophet Muhammad and to treat him and his followers in very bad manners went to the Prophet asking him:

O Muhammad, if you are really a Prophet, tell us when is the Hour!

The Angel Gabriel revealed unto Him this answer:

“The knowledge of the Hour is only with my Lord. He alone shall reveal it at its predetermined time. It weighs tremendously heavy both in the heavens and the earth (upon their inhabitants) because of its awesomeness; it will come all of a sudden”

The Rabbis told the people of Mecca the questions and their answers, and Muhammad’s answer of their first question (and the other three ones) was more than enough to prove that He is a Real Prophet! However, the two parties, the Jews and the people of Mecca kept denying Him and start fighting Him by sword!

After revealing the answer of when is the Hour, some people every now and then (especially the new comers to Islam) used to ask Muhammad: when is the Hour!

Muhammad used to tell them: Allah only knows, and what have you prepared for it?

The verse 7:187 of the Quran according to Yusuf Ali translation:

“They ask thee about the (final) hour – when will be its appointed time? Say: “the knowledge thereof is with my lord (alone): none but he can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you.” they ask thee as if thou wert eager in search thereof: say: “the knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not.”

They tried to Kill Muhammad but Allah protected Him

How Has Allah Protected His Prophet Muhammad?

Throughout his life, there were many attempts to kill or to hurt the last Prophet Muhammad.

None of such attempts succeeded; all have failed.

Although Muhammad was able to retaliate and strike back those who attempted to kill him, however, he  let all of them go.

In this article, two examples are given.

Example (1) The 80 men who wanted to kill Muhammad,

Anas (one of Muhammad’s Companions) reported that eighty men from Mecca came down a mountain intending to take on the Prophet Muhammad and his Companions by surprise and kill them.

However, Muhammad and his Companions captured them and spared their lives.

So Allah, exalted is He, revealed:

(And it is Allah Who has withheld men’s hands from you, and has withheld your hands from them, after He had made you victors over them).

‘Abdu Allah al-Muzani (one of Muhammad’s Companions) said:

“We were with the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, at al-Hudaybiyyah (a place that is nearby Mecca by few kilometers) when eighty armed youths suddenly charged on us.

The Prophet, prayed against them, and Allah took away their sight.

We then bounced on them and seized them.

The Prophet Muhammad asked them:

‘Have you come under the protection of someone?

Has anyone given you a guarantee of safety?’

They said: ‘No!’

He let them go.

After which Allah, revealed

“And it is Allah Who has withheld men’s hands from you, and has withheld your hands from them…”

Verse 48:24

QARIB:

it was he who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the hollow (al-Hudaybiyyah) of Mecca after he had given you victory over them. Allah sees the things you do.

SHAKIR:

and he it is who held back their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca after he had given you victory over them; and Allah is seeing what you do

PICKTHAL:

and he it is who hath withheld men’s hands from you, and hath withheld your hands from them, in the valley of Mecca, after he had made you victors over them. Allah is seer of what ye do.

YUSUFALI:

and it is he who has restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of Makka, after that he gave you the victory over them. And Allah sees well all that ye do.

The meaning of the verse,

And it is Allah Who has withheld their hands of the people of Mecca from fighting you, and has withheld your hands from fighting them, in the valley of Mecca, at al-Hudaybiyyah, after He had made you victors over them: for eighty of them surrounded your camp in order to inflict losses upon you, but they were captured and taken to the Prophet, who pardoned them and set them free, and this resulted in the truce.

And Allah is ever Seer of what you do and of what they do, that is to say, He is ever possessed of this attribute.

Example (2) the woman who wanted to poison Muhammad

A Jewess came to the Prophet Muhammad with poisoned mutton and presented it as a gift. Muhammad took it and ate a little of it.

When the effects of the poison were felt by him, he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you.

Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it.

The narrator of this story said that the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad said:

We have to kill her?

But Muhammad said: No. Let her go.

This is Allah (31) Allah forbids open and hidden adultery

Allah Commands: eat and drink but do not be excessive

Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal

Allah does not love those who are excessive

The Arabs used to forbid foods and clothes during the days of pilgrimage

The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden

Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

———————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:31-33 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal,

2) Allah Commands: eat and drink do not be excessive; He does not love those who are excessive,

3) The Arabs used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage,

4) The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden and

5) Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

The meaning of verse 7:31

O Children of Adam! Don your adornment, that which covers your nakedness, at every place of worship, at prayer and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca, and eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive; He truly does not love those who are excessive.

In other words, eat and drink, but do not be prodigal, do not declare unlawful wholesome foods.

Lo! Allah does not love the prodigals, those who transgress by leaving the lawful and going after the unlawful even in eating and drinking..

This verse puts a golden principle about relationship between the health and food; one can speculate that over-eating is not only a health problem but also it is from Satan who made the Arabs before Islam worshiped Allah while they were NAKED!  See article 33.

The meaning of verse 7:32

Say O Muhammad to the disbelievers: ‘Who has forbidden the wearing of clothes during the days of pilgrimage, in the Sacred Precinct and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca? Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants, in the way of garments, and the good things, the delicious foods, and the good things of Allah’ sustenance and providing?’ For in the pre-Islamic days they used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage, and entered the Sacred Precinct completely naked: the men during the day and the women during the night. Allah made these practices unlawful.

Say: ‘These, on the Day of Resurrection, shall be exclusively for those who believed during the life of this world and the disbelievers will never have anything of that. Thus, in the Quran, We detail the signs, We explain them in such detail, for a people who know’, who reflect, for they are the ones to profit from these [signs].

In other words, all the good things, on the Day of Resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world in Muhammad and the Quran, while both believer and sinner will enjoy them during the life of this world. Allah elucidates the Quran by explaining the lawful and the unlawful for people who have knowledge, for people who believe it is from Allah.

The meaning of verse 7:33

Say) to them, O Muhammad: My Lord forbids only indecencies, grave sins, such as fornication, such of them as are apparent and such as are hidden, that is, the overt ones and the secret ones, and sin, the act of disobedience, and wrongful insolence, against people, namely, oppression, and that you associate with Allah that for which He never revealed any warrant, any definitive proof for such association, and that you say concerning Allah that which you do not know’, in the way of forbidding what He has not forbidden and other things.

In other words, Allah forbids only indecencies, adultery, (such of them as are apparent) open adultery (and such as are within) taking secret lovers, (and sin) intoxicants as the poet said: I sipped sin until my mind erred, Thus indeed does sin take away minds. I openly drank urns of sin, And between us benefiting, you see your goddess; (and wrongful oppression) unlawful overbearingness, (and that you associate with Allah that for which no warrant) no Scripture or proof (hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not) of forbidding crops and cattle, good things and raiment.

———————————————————

Verses 7:31-33in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

31) Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. eat and drink, and do not waste. he does not love the wasteful.

32) Say: ‘who has forbidden the adornment that Allah has brought for his worshipers and the good provision? ‘Say: ‘they are in this life for those who believe, and purely theirs on the day of resurrection. ‘ as such we distinguish the verses to people who know.

33) Say: ‘my lord has forbidden all indecent acts whether apparent or disguised and sin, and unjust insolence, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has never sent down an authority, or to say about Allah what you do not know. ‘

SHAKIR:

31) O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely he does not love the extravagant

32) Say: who has prohibited the embellishment of Allah which he has brought forth for his servants and the good provisions? say: these are for the believers in the life of this world, purely (theirs) on the resurrection day; thus do we make the communications clear for a people who know

33) Say: my lord has only prohibited indecencies, those of them that are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has not sent down any authority, and that you say against Allah what you do not know

PICKTHAL:

31) O children of Adam! look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. lo! he loveth not the prodigals.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the adornment of Allah which he hath brought forth for his bondmen, and the good things of his providing? say: such, on the day of resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world. thus do we detail our revelations for people who have knowledge.

33) Say: my lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.

YUSUFALI:

31) O children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which he hath produced for his servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which he hath provided) for sustenance? say: they are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the day of judgment. thus do we explain the signs in detail for those who understand.

33) Say: the things that my lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which he hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.

Allah asks (25) Do they say Muhammad forged the Quran? Bring then 15 words like unto it

Allah is challenging Mankind by 15 Words

The unique linguistic challenge in the history of man

Those who say that Muhammad has forged the Quran are trustful if they do … or liars if they do not…

Allah says: Read the history and See what the end of the disbelievers was

————————————————————–

In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.

It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them.

Allah’ questions are many. In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.

In verses 10:37-39, Allah is asking the disbelievers among mankind this question:

Do you say that Muhammad has forged the Quran?

Say (O Muhammad): ‘Then bring ONE Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran (that is about 15 Arabic words);  and call upon whom you can to assist you, If you are truthful, about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad.

However, they would not be able at all to compose or bring ONE Surah the like of a Surah of the Quran!

This means that the disbelievers are liars in their claim about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad.

It is well known that the disbelievers of Mecca were excellent in Arabic language; however, they could not face this challenge!

It is also interesting that the Modern Scholars repeat the Statement of those ignorant Arabs that has been claimed more than 1400 years ago about the Quran.

It should be emphasized that One Surah of the Quran is about 15 Arabic words.  The disbelievers of Mecca failed to bring or to compose 15 Arabic words the like of a Surah of the Quran.

Interestingly, this challenge that is the first and unique linguistic challenge in the history of mankind is still valid and Allah is still challenging mankind to bring or to compose ONE Surah, i.e. 15 Arabic words the like of a Surah of the Quran.

If mankind can not do that, then anyone who says that the Quran is forged is LIAR!

————————————————————–

Verses 10:37-39 give the question of this article and talk about it

The meanings of the verses 10:37-39

Verse 10:37 says:

And this Quran which is recited to you by Muhammad is not such as could ever be produced, that is, it could not be a fabrication, by anyone besides God; but it is, revealed as, a confirmation of what is before it, of Scriptures, and a detailing of the Book, a exposition of the rulings and other matters which God has prescribed

It is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it; it is a confirmation of the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms and all other Scriptures in that they all call to the profession of divine Oneness and contain the traits and description of Muhammad and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind; the Quran exposits the lawful and the prohibited, the commands and prohibitions.

Therein is no doubt, no uncertainty from the Lord and from the Master of all the Worlds.

Verse 10:38 says:

Or do the disbelievers say, ‘He has invented it’? has Muhammad invented the Quran?

Say to them, O Muhammad: ‘Then bring a Surah like unto it, in terms of the clarity and the rhetorical excellence of its language, by way of invention, for you are eloquent speakers of Arabic like me;

And call upon whom you can, for help in this matter, besides God, that is, other than Him, if you are truthful, in saying that this is an invention.

And call seek help for this purpose from all you can, besides Allah, if you are truthful that Muhammad has invented the Quran

But they were not able to do this.

Up to the moment, no one is able to face this challenge!

Verse 10:39 says:

God, exalted be He, says: Nay, but they denied that, the knowledge whereof they did not comprehend, that is, they denied the Quran and did not reflect upon it; and whereof the interpretation, the consequence of the threats made therein, has not yet come to them.

In other words, Nay, but they denied that, the knowledge whereof they could not compass) they denied that which their knowledge could not embrace, and whereof the interpretation, the consequence of what the Quran promised them has not yet come unto them.

So, in the same manner of denial, those who were before them denied, their messengers.

Behold then what was the consequence for the evildoers!, for denying the messengers, in other words, behold how their affair was concluded, by their being destroyed.

See what the end of those who did wrong was!

In a similar manner, Allah shall punish these people who say that the Quran is forged.

It is also said that this was a consolation from Allah, glorified and Mighty is He, to His Prophet Muhammad so that he endures their harm.

————————————————————–

Verses 10:37-39 in different translations:

QARIB:

37) This Quran could not have been forged by other than Allah. it confirms what was before it; a distinguishing book, in which there is no doubt, from the lord of all the worlds.

38) Do they say: ‘he has forged it’. say: ‘compose one chapter like it, and call upon whom you will, other than Allah (to help you), if what you say is true! ‘

39) They have belied that which they did not understand of its knowledge, nor?s its interpretation reached them. Those who were before also belied; but see how was the end of the harm doers.

SHAKIR:

37) And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the lord of the worlds

38) Or do they say: he has forged it? say: then bring a chapter like this and invite whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful

39) Nay, they reject that of which they have no comprehensive knowledge, and the final sequel of it has not yet come to them; even thus did those before them reject (the truth); see then what was the end of the unjust

PICKTHAL:

37) And this Quran is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind – therein is no doubt – from the lord of the worlds.

38) Or say they: he hath invented it? say: then bring a Surah like unto it, and call (for help) on all ye can besides Allah, if ye are truthful.

39) Nay, but they denied that, the knowledge whereof they could not compass, and whereof the interpretation (in events) hath not yet come unto them. Even so did those before them deny. Then see what was the consequence for the wrong-doers!

YUSUFALI:

37) This Quran is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the book – wherein there is no doubt – from the lord of the worlds.

38) Or do they say, “he forged it”? say: “bring then a sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!”

39) Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong!

This is Allah (30) Allah Does Not Enjoin Indecency, He enjoined justice

The Disbelievers say concerning Allah that which you do not know

Satan made  the Disbelievers  circumambulating the Sacred House in Mecca Naked

The Disbelievers have taken devils as patrons instead of Allah

Allah will bring you back to life on the Day of Judgment

The Linguistic Meanings of the Global Arabic word Fahisha

———————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know their Creator.

Verses 7:28-30 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Before Islam, Satan has made  the Arabs circumambulating the Sacred House in Mecca naked,

2) Allah does not enjoin indecency, He enjoined justice,

3) The Disbelievers say concerning Allah that which you do not know,

4) The Disbelievers have taken devils as patrons instead of Allah and

5) Allah will bring you back to life on the Day of Judgment.

The previous articles showed the story of Adam and Satan.  Allah in the Noble Quran told Adam that Satan is his manifest enemy.  Satan made Adam disobeyed Allah and he committed the first sin in the history of mankind.

The previous article talked about Allah Has sent down on you a garment, and the best is the garment of righteous deeds, Satan loves your nakedness to manifest to your shameful parts and Satan and his tribe see you from whence you do not see them, 5) This article (33) shows the harmful effect of Satan on the disbelievers as regards their faith.

The meaning of verse 7:28

And when they do some (Fahisha) lewdness they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah has enjoined it on us.  Say unto them O Muhammad: Allah, verily, does not enjoin indecency, lewdness or transgressions Indeed you are saying concerning Allah that which you know not.

In other words with an example the verse says:

And when they commit any indecency, such as idolatry, or circumambulating the Sacred House in Mecca naked, saying, ‘We cannot perform the circumambulations wearing clothes in which we were disobedient to Allah’, and so they forbade this [wearing of clothes]; they say, ‘We found our fathers practicing it, and so we followed their example, and Allah has, also, enjoined it on us’. Say, to them: ‘Allah does not enjoin indecency. Do you say concerning Allah that which you do not know?’, that He has said? Herein, the interrogative is meant as a repudiation.

The meaning of verse 7:29

Say O Muhammad: My Lord enjoined justice, fairness;  the confession of Allah’s divine Oneness, that there is no Allah save Allah. And set your faces, turn with your faces, upright towards Him at every place of worship, upon every prayer and call upon Him, worship Him, making religion pure for Him only, be sincere in your worship of Him and in professing His divine Oneness.

As He brought you into being on the Day of the Covenant: felicitous and damned, knower and denier, believer and disbeliever, so return you unto Him in that state.

In other words, set O Muslims your faces, towards Allah, in every place of worship, performing your prostrations purely for Him, and call upon Him, worship Him, devoting your religion to Him, free of any idolatry. As He brought you into being, as He created you, when you were nothing, so you will return, that is, so He will bring you back to life on the Day of Resurrection.

The meaning of verse 7:30

Allah’s  party has led aright, Allah honored them with knowledge and felicity: these are the people of the right, while error has just hold, is prescribed over another party; Allah humiliated them with denial and damnation: these are the people of the left, for lo! they choose Satan instead of Allah!

Allah knows that they take the devils for protecting friends instead of Allah and deem, the misguided people think that they are rightly guided through religion.

In other words, the verse says: O Mankind, a party, of you, Allah has guided, while another party has deserved to go astray, they have taken devils as patrons instead of Allah, that is, other than Him, and think that they are guided’.

Verses 7:28-30in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

28) When they commit an indecency, they say: ‘this is what we found our fathers practicing, and with it Allah has ordered us. ‘ say: ‘Allah does not order indecency. would you tell of Allah what you do not know? ‘

29) Say: ‘my lord ordered justice. turn your faces to him in every place of prayer and supplicate to him, making the religion sincerely to him. as he originated you, you shall return. ‘

30) Some he has guided, and upon some justly is the straying; for they had chosen the satans for supporters instead of Allah and suppose themselves to be guided.

SHAKIR:

28) And when they commit an indecency they say: we found our fathers doing this, and Allah has enjoined it on us. say: surely Allah does not enjoin indecency; do you say against Allah what you do not know?

29) Say: my lord has enjoined justice, and set upright your faces at every time of prayer and call on him, being sincere to him in obedience; as he brought you forth in the beginning, so shall you also return

30) A part has he guided aright and (as for another) part, error is justly their due, surely they took the shaitans for guardians beside Allah, and they think that they are followers of the right

PICKTHAL:

28) And when they do some lewdness they say: we found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us. say: Allah, verily, enjoineth not lewdness. tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?

29) Say: my lord enjoineth justice. and set your faces upright (toward him) at every place of worship and call upon him, making religion pure for him (only). as he brought you into being, so return ye (unto him).

30) A party hath he led aright, while error hath just hold over (another) party, for lo! they choose the devils for protecting supporters instead of Allah and deem that they are rightly guided.

YUSUFALI:

28) When they do aught that is shameful, they say: “we found our fathers doing so”; and “Allah commanded us thus”: say: “nay, Allah never commands what is shameful: do ye say of Allah what ye know not?”

29) Say: “my lord hath commanded justice; and that ye set your whole selves (to him) at every time and place of prayer, and call upon him, making your devotion sincere as in his sight: such as he created you in the beginning, so shall ye return.”

30) Some he hath guided: others have (by their choice) deserved the loss of their way; in that they took the evil ones, in preference to Allah, for their friends and protectors, and think that they receive guidance.

N.B.: The Arabic word “Fahisha” that is translated to

Lewdness, indecency and/or transgression is really a global word.  It means anything that is shameful to do e.g. murder, adultery, filthiness, vulgarity, profanity, lie, stealing, uncouthness, vileness , unwholesomeness , impurity, offensiveness thing, crudeness, licentiousness, wrongdoing, misbehavior, disobedience, misdemeanor, coarseness etc.

After the Prophet Muhammad and the Muslims were prevented from visiting the Holy House in Mecca,

The arrogant disbelievers of Mecca prevented them from visiting the Holy House.

Muhammad made a pact with the disbelievers that he would be allowed to return the following year, at which time they would vacate Mecca for three days.

Having prepared to depart for the Visitation, he and the believers were concerned that disbelievers would not keep to the agreement and instigate fighting.

The Muslims were averse to becoming engaged in fighting while in a state of pilgrimage inviolability in the Sacred Enclosure [Holy House in Mecca] and during the sacred months in which the Arabs traditionally prevent fighting,

And so the verse was revealed:

And fight in the way of God, to elevate His religion, with those who fight against you, the disbelievers,

Fight in the way of Allah, in obedience of Allah whether in the Sacred Precinct or in other places, against those who fight against you, against those who initiate fight against you,

But do not aggress against them by initiating the fighting;

Allah does not love the aggressors, the ones that overstep the bounds which God has set for them.

Allah does not love those who initiate fighting whether in the Sacred Precinct or in other locations.

Verse 2:190 in different translations

QARIB:

Fight in the way of Allah those who fight against you, but do not aggress. Allah does not love the aggressors.

SHAKIR:

And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.

PICKTHAL:

Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

YUSUFALI:

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

Allah does not love (8) the Unjust

The Blessings God bestows upon the Disbelievers are …!

The days of the life of this world are vicissitudes, the Quran and the History said

———————————————————————-

We have seen that Allah does not love those:

1) the disbelievers,

2) the arrogant,

3) those who reject faith,

4) the proud and the boastful,

5) any swaggering braggart, strutting in his steps,

6) the harm doers and

7) any vainglorious prideful boasters.

In this article, that Allah does not love the Unjust;  those that do wrong.

Moreover, the Quran declares the fact that the days of the life of this world are vicissitudes among men, folks and nations

———————————————————————-

The meanings of verse 3:140 of the Noble Quran:

Background:

The Day of Badr is the first battle between the believers (300 men) and the disbelievers (1000 men); the believers won that battle in great astonishing success.

The Day of Uhud is the second battle between the believers (550 men) and the disbelievers (1200 men), at first the believers won then the disbelievers won at the end.

Verse 3:140 says that:

If a wound touches you, befalls you at Uhud,

If ye have received a blow, if you were harmed on the Day of Uhud

The people of Mecca, the disbelievers, have received on the Day of Badr harm like the harm you received on the Day of Uhud.

i.e., a like wound, already, at Badr, has touched the other people, the disbelievers.

These are only the vicissitudes, the days of the life of this world, which Allah cause to follow one another for mankind, sometimes the believers have the upper hand over the unbelievers and sometimes it is the unbelievers who have the upper hand over the believers,

Such days Allah deal out in turn, Allah dispense them, among mankind, one day for one group, the next day for another, that they might be admonished,

And that God may know, through knowledge manifested outwardly, those who believe, who are sincere in their faith from others;

And that He may take witnesses from among you, honoring them with martyrdom, and God loves not the evildoers, the disbelievers,

That is, He will chastise them severely at the day of Judgment,

And the blessings He bestows upon the disbelievers are only a means of drawing out their punishment.

The days of the life of this world are vicissitudes:

This is a fact that said in the Noble Quran more than 1400 years ago.  Anyone who studies the history of men, folks and nations appreciates and acknowledges such fact.

Verse 3:140 in different translations

QARIB:

If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days we alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that he will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harm doers,

SHAKIR:

If a wound has afflicted you (at Uhud), a wound like it has also afflicted the (unbelieving) people; and we bring these days to men by turns, and that Allah may know those who believe and take witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust.

PICKTHAL:

If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. these are (only) the vicissitudes which we cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

YUSUFALI:

If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) we give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that he may take to himself from your ranks martyr-witnesses (to truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.

Allah is Asking you this Question (12) has Muhammad Invented the Quran?

Has Muhammad Invented the Quran? Then bring ten Surah

Allah is Challenging Mankind by 200 Words

The first linguistic challenge in the history of mankind

The Modern intellectual Scholars Repeat what the Ignorant Arabs have said more than 1400 years ago

——————————————

Allah is asking mankind this question:

Do the disbelievers say: Muhammad has invented the Quran?

Say (O Muhammad): ‘Then bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran (200 Arabic words); and call upon whom you can to assist you, If you are truthful, about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad.

However, they would not be able at all to compose or bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran!

——————————————

In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.

It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them.

Allah’ questions are many.  In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.

——————————————

The question in this article is:

Do the disbelievers of Mecca say: Muhammad has invented the Quran?

Say (O Muhammad): ‘Then bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran; and call upon whom you can to assist you, If you are truthful, about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad.

However, they would not be able at all to compose or bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran!

This means that the disbelievers of Mecca are liar in their claim about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad.

It is well known that the disbelievers of Mecca were ignorant about all the scientific issues and most of the historical topics mentioned in the Quran.  If we do not blame them about their claim about the Quran being an invention made by Muhammad; however, we blame the Modern Scholars who repeat their Statement that has been claimed more than 1400 years ago about the Quran.  Those Modern Scholars who say that the Quran is forged and it is made by Muhammad have to know that they repeat what has been said by the ignorant disbelievers Arabs of Mecca for more than 1400 years ago!

It should be emphasized that ten Surah of the Quran are about 200 Arabic words.  The disbelievers of Mecca failed to bring or to compose 200 Arabic words the like of a Surah of the Quran.

Interestingly, this challenge that is the first linguistic challenge in the history of mankind is still valid and Allah is still challenging mankind to bring or to compose ten Surah, i.e. 200 Arabic words the like of a Surah of the Quran. If mankind can not do that, then anyone who says that the Quran is forged is LIAR!

The meanings verses 11:13- 14 give the question of this article and talk about it

Verse 11:13 says:

Or do they say, ‘He has invented the Quran?

Nay, the disbelievers of Mecca say: Muhammad has invented the Quran and presented it to us.

Say: ‘Then bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran, in terms of clarity and rhetorical excellence, invented, for you are Arabs who speak [Arabic] eloquently, like myself — he challenged them to these ten Surah

And call, in order [for them] to assist you, upon whom you can beside God, that is, [on] other than Him

And call on everyone you can, seek the help of what you worship (beside Allah

If you are truthful, about the Quran being an invention of lies.

And they would not be able to compose or bring ten Surah the like thereof, the like of a Surah of the Quran!

Verse 11:14 says:

Then, if they, that is, those on whom you call for assistance, do not answer you, know, this address is to the idolaters, that it has been revealed, enwrapped, only in God’s knowledge, not as an invention of lies against Him, and that there is no god save Him. Will you then submit? After this definitive argument;

 In other words: ‘Submit!’

It is also said: When they could not respond, Allah said: (And if they answer not your prayer) and if the wrong-doers do not answer you, (then know) O disbelievers (that it is revealed) that Gabriel brought down the Qur’an (only in the knowledge of Allah) and with his command; (and that there is no God save Him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender?) and believe in Muhammad and in the Quran.

——————————————

Verses 11:13- 14 in different translations:

QARIB:

13) Or do they say: ‘he has forged it? ‘ say (to them): ‘then produce ten forged chapters like it. call, if you are able, upon other than Allah, if what you say is true. ‘

14) But if they do not answer you, know that it has been sent down with the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god except he. So, have you surrendered (become Muslims)?

SHAKIR:

13) Or, do they say: he has forged it. say: then bring ten forged chapters like it and call upon whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful

14) But if they do not answer you, then know that it is revealed by Allah’s knowledge and that there is no god but he; will you then submit?

PICKTHAL:

13) Or they say: he hath invented it. say: then bring ten Surah, the like thereof, invented, and call on everyone ye can beside Allah, if ye are truthful!

14) And if they answer not your prayer, then know that it is revealed only in the knowledge of Allah; and that there is no Allah save him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender?

YUSUFALI:

13) Or they may say, “he forged it,” say, “bring ye then ten suras forged, like unto it, and call (to your aid) whomsoever ye can, other than Allah!- if ye speak the truth!

14) “If then they (your false gods) answer not your (call), know ye that this revelation is sent down (replete) with the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god but he! Will ye even then submit (to Islam)?”

This is Allah (21) None can sustain the heavens and the earth save Allah

Allah forgives whoever repents

What the Jews say about the Christians?

What the Christians say about the Jews?

Allah says: the evil will turn against the people who make it

————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 35:41-43 of the Noble Quran talks about five issues, they are:

1) None can sustain the heavens and the earth save Allah

2) Allah forgives whoever repents,

3) What the Jews say about the Christians?

4) What the Christians say about the Jews? And

5) Allah says: the evil will turn against the people who make it

————————————————

The meaning of verse 35:41:

Truly Allah sustains the heavens and the earth lest they disappear, in other words, He prevents them from disappearing.

And if they were to disappear there is none that can sustain them after Him, in other words, other than Him.

Truly He is ever Forbearing, Forgiving, in deferring the punishment of the disbelievers.

In other words, it is Allah who holds the heavens and the earth that they do not disappear; and if they were to disappear; there is none who could hold them after Him. Lo! He is ever Clement, Forgiving; He forgives whoever repents of them.

The meaning of verse 35:42:

And the disbelievers of Mecca, swore by God their most solemn oaths, [they swore] with utmost effort [to be sincere] in them, that if a warner, a Prophet, a messenger, were to come to them, they would be more tractable) they would be swifter in responding and more guided in the religion (than any of the nations); they would be more readily guided than any one of the communities, [than] the Jews, the Christians or others,

In other words, they would have been more readily guided] than any one of these — having [themselves] seen the extent to which these [groups] called each other liars, given that:

The Jews say, ‘The Christians stand on nothing’, and the Christians say, ‘The Jews stand on nothing’, [See verse 2:113].

But when a warner, namely, Muhammad came unto them) with the Quran (it aroused in them naught save repugnance) from it.

In other words, when Muhammad did come to them, this, coming of his, only increased them in aversion, further away from [right] guidance,

The meaning of verse 35:43:

They, the disbelievers, were acting with disdain in the land, against faith, behaving arrogantly in the land by rejecting faith in Muhammad and in the Quran and plotting evil to kill Muhammad, (and the evil plot) evil words and works (enclosed but the men who make it) turn only against the people who make them. (Then, can they expect) can your people, once they disbelieved in you, expect (aught save the treatment of the folk of old) can they expect anything save the punishment of the people of old when they disbelieved in their messengers?

You wilt not find for Allah’s way of treatment) for Allah’s punishment (any substitute) any alteration, (nor wilt you find for Allah’s way of treatment aught of power to change to someone other than Him.

In other words, So do the disbelievers expect, do they await, anything but the precedent of the ancients?,

Allah’s way of dealing with them, such as chastising them for their denial of the messengers? Yet you will never find any change in Allah’s precedent, and you will never find any revision in Allah’s precedent, that is to say, chastisement is never replaced by anything else, nor is it ever meted out other than to the one who deserves it.

Verses 35:41-43 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

41) It is Allah who holds the heavens and the earth lest they vanish. should they vanish, none would hold them after him. he is the clement, the forgiving.

42) They solemnly swore by Allah that if a warner came to them they would be more rightly guided than any other of the nations. yet, when a warner came to them, it only increased their aversion,

43) Behaving arrogantly in the land and devising evil. but, evil devising coils only those who do it. do they look except for the ways of former nations? you shall never find any change in the way of Allah.

SHAKIR:

41) Surely Allah upholds the heavens and the earth lest they come to naught; and if they should come to naught, there is none who can uphold them after him; surely he is the forbearing, the forgiving

42) And they swore by Allah with the strongest of their oaths that if there came to them a warner they would be better guided than any of the nations; but when there came to them a warner it increased them in naught but aversion

43) (In) behaving proudly in the land and in planning evil; and the evil plans shall not beset any save the authors of it. then should they wait for aught except the way of the former people? for you shall not find any alteration in the course of Allah; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah

PICKTHAL:

41) Lo! Allah graspeth the heavens and the earth that they deviate not, and if they were to deviate there is not one that could grasp them after him. lo! he is ever clement, forgiving.

42) And they swore by Allah, their most binding oath, that if a warner came unto them they would be more tractable than any of the nations; yet, when a warner came unto them it aroused in them naught save repugnance,

43) (Shown in their) behaving arrogantly in the land and plotting evil; and the evil plot encloseth but the men who make it. then, can they expect aught save the treatment of the folk of old? thou wilt not find for Allah’s way of treatment any substitute, nor wilt thou find for Allah’s way of treatment aught of power to change.

YUSUFALI:

41) It is Allah who sustains the heavens and the earth, lest they cease (to function): and if they should fail, there is none – not one – can sustain them thereafter: verily he is most forbearing, oft-forgiving.

42) They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the peoples: but when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),-

43) On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of evil, but the plotting of evil will hem in only the authors thereof. now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? but no change wilt thou find in Allah’s way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah’s way (of dealing).
