Angels in Islam (22) every man will see them-A

The unbelievers wanted to see the Angels.

It is not good for the unbelievers to see the Angels; however, it will eventually happen.

———————————————————-

The meanings of the verses 25:21-22 of the Noble Quran:

The unbelievers who deny the Day of Judgment, who do not believe in resurrection after death, and hence have no fear of the Resurrection, and do not expect to encounter Allah saod unto the Prophet Muhammad:

  • Why have the Angels not been sent down to us, to inform us that Allah sent you to us?
  • Or why do we not see our Lord to ask Him about you?
  • So that we might be informed by Him, directly, that Muhammad is truly His Messenger?

Allah, exalted be He, said:

  • Assuredly they think too highly of themselves when they ask to see Allah;
  • They are full of arrogance within their souls and have become terribly insolent, in demanding to see Allah.
  • They are scornful with great pride refusing to believe.

It is also said that they dared to ask for a tremendous thing when they asked for the Angels to come to them.

But, why seeing the Angels is a tremendous thing?

The verse 25:22 gives the answer, it means:

The day when they see the Angels, there will be no good tidings on that day for the unbelievers (in contrast to the believers for whom there shall be the good tidings of Paradise).

It is said that both the Angels and the unbelievers will say one word that is “A forbidding ban”

The Angels will cry: “A forbidding ban” they mean: the glad tiding of Paradise is forbidden for the unbelievers

The unbelievers will say: “A forbidding ban” upon seeing the Angels; they mean:

  • Let a great distance be between you and us!
  • We seek refuge from the Angels (who will chastise them)

Interestingly, this word: “A forbidding ban” was their custom in the life of this world whenever a misfortune befell them

In addition, Allah has described the unbelievers by “those who are wronging themselves” (the verse 16:28)

How they are wronging themselves? Through disbelief

What about them when the Angels cause them to die by taking off their souls?

First, they will see the Angels

Second, they will offer becoming compliant and submitting themselves to belief in Allah, saying:

  • we were not doing any evil’,
  • we used not to do any wrong
  • we did not worship anything save Allah nor did we associate partners with Him

It is said that the Liar in this life is also a liar in the Afterlife

Then, the Angels will say:

‘Nay! Surely Allah is Knower of what you used to do’, and He will requite you for it

For this reason, it is not good for the unbelievers to see the Angels; however, it will eventually happen.

The verses 25:21-22 in different translations:

QARIB:

21-Those who do not hope to meet us ask: ‘why have no Angels been sent to us? Why can we not see our Lord? ‘How proud they are within themselves, and have become greatly disdainful.

22-On the day when they behold the Angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: ‘a refuge which is forbidden!

SHAKIR:

21-And those who do not hope for our meeting, say: why have not Angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt

22-On the day when they shall see the Angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: it is a forbidden thing totally prohibited

PICKTHAL:

21-And those who look not for a meeting with us say: why are Angels not sent down unto us and (why) do we not see our Lord! Assuredly they think too highly of themselves and are scornful with great pride.

22-On the day when they behold the Angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: a forbidding ban!

YUSUFALI:

21-Such as fear not the meeting with us (for judgment) say: “why are not the Angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?” indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety!

22-The day they see the Angels, – no joy will there be to the sinners that day: the (Angels) will say: “there is a barrier forbidden (to you) altogether!”

The verse 16:28 in different translations:

QARIB:

Whom the Angels take while they were still harming themselves. ‘Then they will offer submission, saying: ‘we have done no evil! ‘No, surely Allah knows what you have done.

SHAKIR:

Those whom the Angels cause to die while they are unjust to themselves. Then would they offer submission: we used not to do any evil. Aye! Surely Allah knows what you did

PICKTHAL:

Whom the Angels cause to die while they are wronging themselves. Then will they make full submission (saying): we used not to do any wrong. Nay! Surely Allah is knower of what ye used to do.

YUSUFALI:

“(Namely) those whose lives the Angels take in a state of wrong-doing to their own souls.” then would they offer submission (with the pretence), “we did no evil (knowingly).” (The Angels will reply), “nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did;

In Bible vs. Quran, Jesus denied that He is God (10) His Testimony

In the Bible, the Lord Jesus says: If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

The Quran says that Allah is the greatest in testimony and His testimony is the absolute Truth. And, Allah is sufficient as a witness.

—————————————

In the Bible, the Lord Jesus says in the verse John 5:31:‘If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

Study of the verse John 5:31 in 24 different Bible’s versions reveal that:

Twelve versions say: If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

Eight versions say: If I bear witness of Myself, My witness (testimony) is not true.

Two versions say: If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.

Two versions say: If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.

In addition, you will see in the Appendix what another 16 different Bible’s versions say.

Anyway, this verse is very strange and risky from the faith wise point of view.

Jesus is God or son of God which is equal to God as the Christians believe.

If so, how come that His testimony about Himself is not true or not valid?

Wait to see what the editor of the other 16 versions say about His testimony

—————————————

On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah is the greatest in testimony and His testimony is the absolute Truth. And, Allah is sufficient as a witness

The verse 6:19 and 4:166 of the Quran say according to Pickthal translation:

The verse 6:19

“Say (O Muhammad): what thing is of most weight in testimony? Say: Allah is witness between me and you. And this Qur’an hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach. Do ye in sooth bear witness that there are gods beside Allah? Say: I bear no such witness. Say: he is only one Allah. Lo! I am innocent of that which ye associate (with him).”

The verse 4:166

But Allah (himself) testifieth concerning that which he hath revealeth unto thee; in his knowledge hath he revealed it; and the angels also testify. And Allah is sufficient witness. (Allah is sufficient as a witness)

—————————————

Appendix: Study of the other 16 versions different Bible’s versions shows how the editors of these versions understand, express and present what the Lord Jesus said in the verse John 5:31 of the Bible:

·       If I alone testify in My behalf, My testimony is not valid and cannot be worth anything.

·       You may say that I am bearing witness about myself, that therefore what I say about myself has no value

·       If I were simply speaking on my own account, it would be an empty, self-serving witness.

·       If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid.

·       If I talk about myself, then what I say is not true.

·       If only I tell people about myself, what I say is not true.

·       If I give witness about myself, it doesn’t count.

·       If I tell about Myself, My words are worth nothing.

·       If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not valid.

·       If I testify on my own behalf, what I say isn’t true

·       If I testify on my own behalf, what I say is not to be accepted as real proof.

·       If I testify in my own behalf, that testimony of mine is worth nothing;

·       If I speak for myself, there is no way to prove I am telling the truth.

·       If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not deemed true.

·       If I bear witness about myself, my testimony is not deemed true.

·       If I tell people about myself, they cannot be sure that what I say is true.

This is Allah (31) Allah forbids open and hidden adultery

Allah Commands: eat and drink but do not be excessive

Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal

Allah does not love those who are excessive

The Arabs used to forbid foods and clothes during the days of pilgrimage

The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden

Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

———————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

Verses 7:31-33 of the Noble Quran talk about:

1) Allah does not love those who are excessive and prodigal,

2) Allah Commands: eat and drink do not be excessive; He does not love those who are excessive,

3) The Arabs used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage,

4) The Arab Disbelievers were forbidding what Allah has not forbidden and

5) Allah forbids open and Secret adultery

The meaning of verse 7:31

O Children of Adam! Don your adornment, that which covers your nakedness, at every place of worship, at prayer and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca, and eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive; He truly does not love those who are excessive.

In other words, eat and drink, but do not be prodigal, do not declare unlawful wholesome foods.

Lo! Allah does not love the prodigals, those who transgress by leaving the lawful and going after the unlawful even in eating and drinking..

This verse puts a golden principle about relationship between the health and food; one can speculate that over-eating is not only a health problem but also it is from Satan who made the Arabs before Islam worshiped Allah while they were NAKED!  See article 33.

The meaning of verse 7:32

Say O Muhammad to the disbelievers: ‘Who has forbidden the wearing of clothes during the days of pilgrimage, in the Sacred Precinct and upon circumambulation of the Holy House in Mecca? Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants, in the way of garments, and the good things, the delicious foods, and the good things of Allah’ sustenance and providing?’ For in the pre-Islamic days they used to forbid themselves meat and fat during the days of pilgrimage, and entered the Sacred Precinct completely naked: the men during the day and the women during the night. Allah made these practices unlawful.

Say: ‘These, on the Day of Resurrection, shall be exclusively for those who believed during the life of this world and the disbelievers will never have anything of that. Thus, in the Quran, We detail the signs, We explain them in such detail, for a people who know’, who reflect, for they are the ones to profit from these [signs].

In other words, all the good things, on the Day of Resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world in Muhammad and the Quran, while both believer and sinner will enjoy them during the life of this world. Allah elucidates the Quran by explaining the lawful and the unlawful for people who have knowledge, for people who believe it is from Allah.

The meaning of verse 7:33

Say) to them, O Muhammad: My Lord forbids only indecencies, grave sins, such as fornication, such of them as are apparent and such as are hidden, that is, the overt ones and the secret ones, and sin, the act of disobedience, and wrongful insolence, against people, namely, oppression, and that you associate with Allah that for which He never revealed any warrant, any definitive proof for such association, and that you say concerning Allah that which you do not know’, in the way of forbidding what He has not forbidden and other things.

In other words, Allah forbids only indecencies, adultery, (such of them as are apparent) open adultery (and such as are within) taking secret lovers, (and sin) intoxicants as the poet said: I sipped sin until my mind erred, Thus indeed does sin take away minds. I openly drank urns of sin, And between us benefiting, you see your goddess; (and wrongful oppression) unlawful overbearingness, (and that you associate with Allah that for which no warrant) no Scripture or proof (hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not) of forbidding crops and cattle, good things and raiment.

Verses 7:31-33in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

31) Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. eat and drink, and do not waste. he does not love the wasteful.

32) Say: ‘who has forbidden the adornment that Allah has brought for his worshipers and the good provision? ‘Say: ‘they are in this life for those who believe, and purely theirs on the day of resurrection. ‘ as such we distinguish the verses to people who know.

33) Say: ‘my lord has forbidden all indecent acts whether apparent or disguised and sin, and unjust insolence, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has never sent down an authority, or to say about Allah what you do not know. ‘

SHAKIR:

31) O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely he does not love the extravagant

32) Say: who has prohibited the embellishment of Allah which he has brought forth for his servants and the good provisions? say: these are for the believers in the life of this world, purely (theirs) on the resurrection day; thus do we make the communications clear for a people who know

33) Say: my lord has only prohibited indecencies, those of them that are apparent as well as those that are concealed, and sin and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with Allah that for which he has not sent down any authority, and that you say against Allah what you do not know

PICKTHAL:

31) O children of Adam! look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. lo! he loveth not the prodigals.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the adornment of Allah which he hath brought forth for his bondmen, and the good things of his providing? say: such, on the day of resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world. thus do we detail our revelations for people who have knowledge.

33) Say: my lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.

YUSUFALI:

31) O children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

32) Say: who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which he hath produced for his servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which he hath provided) for sustenance? say: they are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the day of judgment. thus do we explain the signs in detail for those who understand.

33) Say: the things that my lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which he hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.

Allah does not love (4) the proud and the boastful

The Rights of the Parents in the Noble Quran

The Rights of the Neighbor in the Noble Quran

The Rights of the Orphan in the Noble Quran

The Rights of the Guest in the Noble Quran

—————————————————–

In the previous three articles, we have seen that Allah does not love:

(1) the disbelievers and Whoever disbelieves, the consequence of his disbelief shall be upon him,

2) the arrogant and

3) those who reject faith and there is an essential association between the disbelief and the arrogance.

In this article, Allah does not love who is proud and boastful

—————————————————–

The meanings of verse 4:36 of the Noble Quran:

And serve Allah, acknowledge His divine Oneness.

Ascribe no thing, no idol as partner unto Him.

And worship God, declare His Oneness, and associate nothing with Him.

Show kindness unto parents, be dutiful and gentle-mannered to them, and also unto near kindred.

Be kind to near kindred, and to orphans, and to the needy, and to the neighbor who is near, to you in terms of [physical] vicinity or kinship, and to the neighbor who is a stranger, the one far from you in terms of [physical] vicinity or kinship; and to the friend at your side, a traveling companion, or a colleague at work, and, it is also said, one’s wife; and to the wayfarer, the one cut off during a journey, and to what your right hands own, of bondsmen.

Allah commands you to keep ties with your kin, and orphans

Allah commands that you show kindness to orphans, and to protect their wealth, etc, and the needy, and He enjoins giving alms to the needy, and unto the neighbor who is of kin unto you,

The neighbor who also happen to be your relative has three rights over you: the right of kinship, the right of Islam, and the right of being a neighbor

And the neighbor who is not of kin, the neighbor who is not a relative has two rights: the right of Islam and the right of being a neighbor

and the fellow traveler, a fellow traveler has two rights: the right of Islam and the right of companionship;

it is also said that this refers to one’s wife at home. Allah commands kindness towards her (and the wayfarer)

Allah commands the honoring of guests. Honoring a guest for three days is the guest’s right. The honour bestowed on the guest after the third day is considered a charity on the part of the host;

And the slaves, whom your right hands possess, Allah commands kindness towards slaves, males and females.

Lo! Allah does not love such as are proud, in their walking and boastful about the bounties of Allah, showing nothing but wantonness and arrogance towards Allah’s servants, and Allah does not love the one who boasts before people of what he has been given.

Verse 4:36 in different translations

QARIB:

Worship Allah and do not associate anything with him. be kind to parents and near kinsmen, to the orphans and to the needy, to your neighbor who is your kindred, and to the neighbor at your far side, and the companion at your side, and to the destitute traveler, and to that which your right hands owns. Allah does not love he who is proud and struts,

SHAKIR:

And serve Allah and do not associate any thing with him and be good to the parents and to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the neighbor of (your) kin and the alien neighbor, and the companion in a journey and the wayfarer and those whom your right hands possess; surely Allah does not love him who is proud, boastful;

PICKTHAL:

And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto him. (show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbor who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbor who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveler and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,

YUSUFALI:

serve Allah, and join not any partners with him; and do good- to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near, neighbours who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious;-

This is Allah (20) who is the loser, Allah or the unbelievers?

It is Allah who made mankind one succeeding the other in the earth

Whoever disbelieves in Allah, his disbelief will be to his own detriment

Has anyone besides Allah created anything in the Earth?

Does any of your gods share Allah in His Kingdom?

————————————————————————

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

The verses 35:39-40 of the Noble Quran give two facts; they are:

1) It is Allah Who made mankind one succeeding the other in the earth and

2) Whoever disbelieves in Allah, his disbelief will be to his own detriment;

And also the verses give three questions; they are:

1) Who is losing, the Disbelievers or Allah?

2) Did anyone besides Allah create anything on the Earth? And

3) Does any of your gods share Allah in His Kingdom?

————————————————————————

The meaning of verse 35:39:

It is Allah Who made you successors in the earth in other words, one succeeding the other.

So whoever disbelieves, of you, his disbelief will be to his own detriment, that is, the evil consequences of his disbelief will be their responsibility.

And their disbelief does not increase the disbelievers with their Lord [in anything] except disfavor, wrath.

And their disbelief does not increase the disbelievers [in anything] except loss, of the reward of the Hereafter.

In other words, the verse says that it is He, Allah, Who has made you O mankind (regents in the earth) dwellers in the earth after the destruction of past nations; so he who disbelieves in Allah, his disbelief will be on his own head, on his own responsibility, the punishment of his disbelief is against his own soul.

Their disbelief increases for the disbelievers in Muhammad and in the Quran, in their Lord’s sight in the Hereafter, naught save abhorrence nothing but detestation.

Their disbelief in the life of this world increases for the disbelievers naught save loss in the Hereafter.

The meaning of verse 35:40:

Say O Muhammad, to the disbelievers, to the idolaters: Have ye seen your partner-gods, your deities to whom you pray;  whom you worship beside Allah? Show me what they created of the earth! Or have they any portion) with Allah (in the heavens) in the creation of the heavens? (Or have We given them) i.e. the disbelievers of Mecca (a Scripture so that they act on clear proof there from) that they will not be punished? (Nay, the evil-doers promise) what the idolaters say in the life of this world to (one another) i.e. the leaders to those who followed them (only to deceive) only vanity in the Hereafter.

In other words, the verse asks: ‘Have you considered your associates on whom you call, [those whom] you worship, besides Allah?, and they are the idols whom you asserted to be partners of Allah, exalted be He. Show me, apprise me of, what [part] of the earth they have created. Or do they have some partnership, some share alongside Allah, in, the creation of, the heavens?’ Or have We given them a scripture, so that they are [acting] upon a clear proof, a definitive argument, there from?, to the effect that they have some partnership with Me? Nothing of the sort! Nay, but the evildoers, the disbelievers, promise one another nothing but delusion, falsehood, when they say that the idols will intercede for them.

————————————————————————

Verses 35:36-38 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

QARIB:

39) It is he who made you caliphs in the earth. he who disbelieves, his disbelief shall be charged against him. the unbelievers disbelief does nothing for them, except, increase them in hate with Allah their disbelief increases the unbelievers only in loss.

40) Say: ‘have you considered your associates who you call upon, other than Allah? show me what they have created in the earth! or, have they a partnership in the heavens? ‘ or, have we given them a book so that they have proof of it? no, the harm doers promise each other nothing else but delusion.

SHAKIR:

39) He it is who made you rulers in the land; therefore whoever disbelieves, his unbelief is against himself; and their unbelief does not increase the disbelievers with their lord in anything except hatred; and their unbelief does not increase the disbelievers m anything except loss

40) Say: have you considered your associates which you call upon besides Allah? show me what part of the earth they have created, or have they any share in the heavens; or, have we given them a book so that they follow a clear argument thereof? nay, the unjust do not hold out promises one to another but only to deceive

PICKTHAL:

39) He it is who hath made you regents in the earth; so he who disbelieveth, his disbelief be on his own head. their disbelief increaseth for the disbelievers, in their lord’s sight, naught save abhorrence. their disbelief increaseth for the disbelievers naught save loss.

40) Say: have ye seen your partner-gods to whom ye pray beside Allah? show me what they created of the earth! or have they any portion in the heavens? or have we given them a scripture so they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the evil-doers promise one another only to deceive.

YUSUFALI:

39) He it is that has made you inheritors in the earth: if, then, any do reject (Allah), their rejection (works) against themselves: their rejection but adds to the odium for the unbelievers in the sight of their lord: their rejection but adds to (their own) undoing.

40) Say: “have ye seen (these) ‘partners’ of yours whom ye call upon besides Allah? show me what it is they have created in the (wide) earth. or have they a share in the heavens? or have we given them a book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- nay, the wrong-doers promise each other nothing but delusions.

Many people do not know Allah. This series is an attempt to help them in order to know and acknowledge their Creator.

The verse 35:10-12 of the Noble Quran says that all glory and power belong to Allah; and everything is recorded in the Guarded and Preserved Tablet. Then the verses talk about the outcome of those who wanted to assassinate the Prophet Muhammad and the Quran gives a scientific fact of the sweet versus salt sea that discovered only recently.

—————————————

Verse 35:10 says:

Whoever desires glory and power [should know that] all glory and power belong to Allah, belong to Him might and invincibility, in this world and in the Hereafter, and it cannot be obtained from Him except through obedience to Him, so let such [a one] be obedient to Him.

To Him ascends good words, that is to say, He is aware of such [good words], and these are [statements such as] ‘there is no god except Allah’ and the like; and as for righteous action, He exalts it, He accepts it; but those who plot evil, schemes against the Prophet Muhammad [as was the case] at the council assembly, in the way of imprisoning him, killing him or expelling him, as mentioned in the verse 8:30 of the Noble Quran] — theirs shall be a severe chastisement and their plotting shall come to nothing: it shall be ruined.

In other words, unto Him good words, the expression “there is no deity save Allah” (ascend, and the pious deed doth He exalt) He accepts pious deeds through the profession of “there is no deity except Allah”; (but those who plot iniquities) those who associate partners with Allah; it is also said this means: those who scheme to expel, imprison or assassinate Muhammad, theirs will be an awful doom, as awful as can be; (and the plotting of such (folk will come to naught) will not succeed. Historically, this happened in the life of this world, however, await to see their outcome in the afterlife.

Verse 35:11 says:

Allah created you from dust, He created you from Adam and Adam is from dust, then from a little fluid, the sperm drops of your fathers, then He made you pairs, the male and female. No female bears a child gives birth after the full period of pregnancy or prematurely (save with His knowledge) save with the knowledge and command of Allah. (And no one grows old who grows old, nor is aught lessened of his life, but it is recorded in a Book) except that it is recorded in the Guarded and Preserved Tablet.

(Lo! That) recording that (is easy for Allah) even without writing.

Verse 35:12 says:

(And the two seas) the sweet and salty (are not alike: this, fresh, sweet, food to drink, this (other) bitter, salt. And from them both) the sweet and salty seas (ye eat fresh meat) fresh fish (and derive) especially from the salty sea (the ornament) gems and pearls (that ye wear. And you see the ship cleaving them) i.e. the seas (with its prow) coming and going driven by the same wind (that ye may seek of His bounty) of His provision, (and that haply ye may give thanks) so that you may give thanks for His bounty.

It is very amazing that the Quran talks about a sweet water coming from a sea; it is discovered recently that this scientific fact said by the Noble Quran is true.

Can anyone tells who taught Muhammad that there are sweet water in sea?

—————————————

Verses 35:10-12 in different English translations of their meanings:

QARIB:

10) He who wants might, the might belongs to Allah altogether. to him ascend good words, and the righteous deed he raises. but those who devise evil deeds theirs shall be a terrible punishment, and their plotting shall be annulled.

11) Allah created you from dust, then from a (sperm) drop. then he made you pairs. no female conceives or is delivered except by his knowledge. he whose life is long, whatsoever is increased or decreased of his age is in a clear book. surely, that is easy for Allah.

12) The two seas are not alike. one is fresh, sweet and pleasant to taste, while the other is salt and bitter. yet, from each you eat fresh flesh and bring forth out of it ornaments for you to wear. and you see the ships plow their course through it so that you may seek his bounty, and in order that you give thanks.

SHAKIR:

10) Whoever desires honor, then to Allah belongs the honor wholly. to him do ascend the good words; and the good deeds, lift them up, and (as for) those who plan evil deeds, they shall have a severe chastisement; and (as for) their plan, it shall perish

11) And Allah created you of dust, then of the life-germ, then he made you pairs; and no female bears, nor does she bring forth, except with his knowledge; and no one whose life is lengthened has his life lengthened, nor is aught diminished of one’s life, but it is all in a book; surely this is easy to Allah

12) And the two seas are not alike: the one sweet, that subdues thirst by its excessive sweetness, pleasant to drink; and the other salt, that burns by its saltness; yet from each of them you eat fresh flesh and bring forth ornaments which you wear; and you see the ships cleave through it that you may seek of his bounty and that you may be grateful

PICKTHAL:

10) Whoso desireth power (should know that) all power belongeth to Allah. unto him good words ascend, and the pious deed doth he exalt; but those who plot iniquities, theirs will be an awful doom; and the plotting of such (folk) will come to naught.

11) Allah created you from dust, then from a little fluid, then he made you pairs (the male and female). no female beareth or bringeth forth save with his knowledge. and no-one groweth old who groweth old, nor is aught lessened of his life, but it is recorded in a book, lo! that is easy for Allah.

12) And the two seas are not alike: this, fresh, sweet, good to drink, this (other) bitter, salt. and from them both ye eat fresh meat and derive the ornament that ye wear. and thou seest the ship cleaving them with its prow that ye may seek of his bounty, and that haply ye may give thanks.

YUSUFALI:

10) If any do seek for glory and power,- to Allah belong all glory and power. to him mount up (all) words of purity: it is he who exalts each deed of righteousness. those that lay plots of evil,- for them is a penalty terrible; and the plotting of such will be void (of result).

11) And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then he made you in pairs. and no female conceives, or lays down (her load), but with his knowledge. nor is a man long-lived granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a decree (ordained). all this is easy to Allah.

12) Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike,- the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. yet from each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful.

Chapter 6 of the Quran (50) Abraham and the Sun

When the sun has disappeared, Abraham said, ‘O my people, Verily, I am blameless of what you associate, with my Creator, in the way of idols and accidental bodies like moon and sun, which require an originator. Then his people asked him, ‘and what do you worship?’

—————————————————————————————————-

Abraham’s people were different in respect to their faith; some of them were astrologers; and they were classified into groups, some were planets’ worshippers, others were moon’s worshippers or sun and /or stars’ worshippers.

Abraham desired to show up his astrologers’ people that they were wrong in their belief.

Abraham gave them two indirect lessons to showm them that they have mistaken believe in God.

The first Abraham’s indirect teaching was to the group of his astrologers’ people who were planets’ worshippers.

The second Abraham’s indirect teaching was to the group of his astrologers’ people who were the moon’s worshippers.

However, many of Abraham people belonged to the astrologers who were the Sun’s worshippers. Abraham went to them.

Ayah 6:78 narrates the third indirect teaching of Abraham

And when he saw the sun uprising filling everything with its light, Abraham said: This is my Lord! Could this be my Lord? This is greater! This is bigger than the first (Venus) and the second (the moon).

And when the sun set and disappewered, Abraham said: I do not love a lord who is not lasting. If my Lord does not guide me, I shall be of those who err.

It is also said that Abraham said ‘this is my Lord’ mocking his people, for his people worshipped the sun, the moon and Venus. He therefore objected to such worship by mocking them, saying to them: could the like of these be a Lord?

It is said that when he emerged from the hole (this is another story of Abraham’s times past) and went to his people, he was then 17 years old. He looked at the sky and the earth and then said: my Lord is Him Who has created this. He then proceeded until he found a group of his people attending with devotion to their idols.  He exclaimed: O my people! Lo! I am free from all that you associate with Him of idols.

Abraham said, ‘O my people, surely I am innocent of what you associate, with God, in the way of idols and accidental bodies, which require an originator. They then asked him, ‘What do you worship?’ (See the next article).

The verses 6:76-77 in different translations

QARIB:

Then, when he saw the sun rise, shining, he said: ‘this must be my lord, it is larger. ‘But when it set, he said: ‘o nation I am quit of what you associate (with Allah, the creator),

SHAKIR:

Then when he saw the sun rising, he said: is this my lord? Is this the greatest? so when it set, he said: o my people! Surely I am clear of what you set up (with Allah)

PICKTHAL:

And when he saw the sun uprising, he cried: this is my lord! This is greater! And when it set he exclaimed: o my people! Lo! I am free from all that ye associate (with him).

YUSUFALI:

Allah asks you (4) who make you die and revive you again?

1) Allah describes the causes of corruption in the Earth

2) Allah commands us to travel in the earth to see and to learn

Allah is asking mankind this question: “It is Allah who has created you: further, He has provided for your sustenance; then He will cause you to die; and again He will give you life. Are there any of your (false) “Partners” who can do any single one of these things?”  Also, Allah describes the causes of corruption in the Earth and He commands us to travel in the earth to see what happened to the ancient disbelievers.

—————————————————-

In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.

It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them. The answers for these questions may adjust and amend our way in this life and may change some of our ideas.

Allah’ questions are many.

In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.

The question in this article is:

“It is Allah who has created you: further, He has provided for your sustenance; then He will cause you to die; and again He will give you life. Are there any of your (false) “Partners” who can do any single one of these things?

—————————————————-

Verses 30:40- 42 give the question of this article and talk about it

Verse 30:40 says:

Allah is He Who created you as living beings in the wombs of your mothers and then He made you emerge from there possessed of a spirit and then sustained you; provided you with sustenance until you die, then He makes you die, when your lifespan expires, He will give life to you again for the resurrection after you die.

Is there anyone among your associates, of those whom you have associated with God, who does anything of these things?

Is there any one other than Allah who is able to do any of this?

Praise Allah; He exonerated Himself from having a son or partners

and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him) of idols!

Verse 30:41 says:

Corruption has appeared on land, in the wastelands, because of the rain being withheld and the vegetation diminishing, and on sea, in lands near rivers because of their waters diminishing, because of what people’s hands have perpetrated, of acts of disobedience,

It is also said that this means: corruption has appeared through the death of cattle, drought, lack of food and vegetation in the plains, mountains, countryside and wilderness as well as in townships and cities because of the transgressions committed by people,

That Allah may make them taste, that He may make them be seized by a part of that which they have done of transgressions, in order that they may return, in order that they may repent of their sins and thus be relieved.

Verse 30:42 says:

Say O Muhammad: Travel in the land and see and reflect upon the nature of the consequence for, the retribution of those who were before you; how Allah destroyed them when they denied their messengers!  Most of them were disbelievers, idolaters and they associated partners with Allah; and their dwellings and habitations lie [desolate] in ruin.

Verses 30:40- 42 in different translations:

QARIB:

40) It is Allah who has created you and given you your provision. he will cause you to die, and will then revive you. can any of your associates do any of that? exalted is he above what they associate.

41) Corruption has appeared on land and sea with what the hands of the people earned. Therefore, they taste some of what they did in order that they return.

42) Say: ‘journey in the land and see what was the end of those who were before you. most of them were idolaters. ‘

SHAKIR:

40) Allah is he who created you, then gave you sustenance, then he causes you to die, then brings you to life. is there any of your associate-gods who does aught of it? Glory be to him, and exalted be he above what they associate (with him)

41) Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea on account of what the hands of men have wrought, that he may make them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return

42) Say: travel in the land, then see how was the end of those before; most of them were polytheists

PICKTHAL:

40) Allah is he who created you and then sustained you, then causeth you to die, then giveth life to you again. is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that doeth aught of that? praised and exalted be he above what they associate (with him)!

41) Corruption doth appear on land and sea because of (the evil) which men’s hands have done, that he may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return.

42) Say (o Muhammad, to the disbelievers): travel in the land, and see the nature of the consequence for those who were before you! most of them were idolaters.

YUSUFALI:

40) It is Allah who has created you: further, he has provided for your sustenance; then he will cause you to die; and again he will give you life. are there any of your (false) “partners” who can do any single one of these things? Glory to him! and high is he above the partners they attribute (to him)!

41) Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that (Allah) may give them a taste of some of their deeds: in order that they may turn back (from evil).

42) Say: “travel through the earth and see what was the end of those before (you): most of them worshipped others besides Allah.”

Chapter 6 of the Quran (41) Allah has the power to…

Allah has the power to send forth upon you a chastisement from above you as He did on the people of Noah and the people of Lot. Allah has the power to send forth upon you a chastisement from beneath your feet or make the earth swallow you as it swallowed Korah. Allah has the power to…

—————————————————————————————————-

In the previous article, Ayah 6:63 says:
Who delivers you from the darkness and from the hardships and tumults of the land and the sea during your journeys? When, you call upon Him humbly, openly and secretly, saying: “Verily, if we were delivered from hardships and tumults, we shall truly be among the thankful of the believers.

Ayah 6:64 says:
Say to them O Muhammad: ‘Allah delivers you from the hardships of the sea and the land and from every other distress and turmoil. Yet you associate others with Him’.

Ayah 6:65 says:
Say to them O Muhammad:
Allah has the power to send forth upon you a chastisement from above you as He did on the people of Noah and the people of Lot.
Allah has the power to send forth upon you a chastisement from beneath your feet or make the earth swallow you as it swallowed Korah (Qaroun), See the verses 28:76-82
Allah has the power to confound you, to confuse you, in parties, sects with differing whims, make divide into conflicting sects as He did with the Children of Israel after the prophets and Allah has the power to make you taste the violence of one another’, through fighting.
[When this was revealed, the Prophet Muhammad said, ‘I seek refuge with Your Countenance!’]
See O Muhammad how Allah display the revelations, how Allah expound in the Qur’n the events of past nations and that which Allah did with them so that they may understand Allah’s command s and His divine Oneness; that perhaps they might understand , that they might realise that what they follow is falsehood.
